A Sunny Day in the Park

By: Butano and WT Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

5:31pm #100!!! We decided to do a cool multi-cache for our 100th find. We went to the various parks in the last week and figured out the coordinates. When we finally got to that spot, I knew my coordinates were wrong but I had been to the same park twice in the past couple of weeks so I was pretty sure I knew where to go. We did walk past the cache area because we didn't really seen an X but we backtracked and found the cache. Thanks for a fun multi-cache! Took fish, left signature item and signed log.

Ulistac

By: Mhop (adopted by bullit) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

4:25pm No one was around but it still took a while to find. Eventually found it where I had seen a little snake slither a few minutes before. I carefully retrieved the cache container and TNLNSL.

WoodWorked

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

3:51pm Our second try looking for this one. Met GeoWalt while we were there and we all searched together. We were about to call it a day when my girlfriend said, "What about that?" And yep, there it was. Had a nice chat with Walt afterwards about local caches. TNLNSL.

The Grand View of Lawrence Expressway!

By: Thefogheads Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

6:13pm We took a stroll from the Foghead's other cache nearby and met up with the cache owner and Larry from the Cacheclan. While I was trying to figure out which way to go, my girlfriend found the cache. From a nearby bench we sure got a grand view of Lawrence Expressway. TNLNSL.

Covering Our Ends!

By: Thefogheads Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

5:56pm Met the cache owner and Larry of the Cacheclan at the cache area. Looked for about ten minutes before Larry found it. We had gone around and around it the whole time. BTW, be careful where you park. We didn't see the private property signs near the trailhead so we got a little notice/warning from the SCC Sheriff's Dept. We moved our car to the nearby pool parking lot before heading on down to Foghead's other cache.

$80 Million Later...

By: Equinox 2002 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

3:23pm After parking in the wrong parking lot, walked through the empty field. Luckily, the field had just been cut so we didn't have to walk through tall brush. Found it fairly quickly after that. Took Team Dakiba dog and left Hawaii keychain.

alla Fontana

By: Carl LaFong Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:39pm I figured out the puzzle fairly quickly. It actually took longer to find the cache than to solve the puzzle. Nice hiding place. TNLNSL.

Namaste

By: nostrada Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:38pm Decided to try this one on an early Sunday evening. Good time, because nearby businesses were closed so there was no one around...until we found the cache. Then we had to hide for a while as someone was practicing for their nearby test. Took fish and left penguin.

Commando Bird!

By: Chick-N-Rock & BobbiSue Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:55pm There were a few people in the park but it didn't look like they cared what we were doing. One of the coolest caches I've found so far, maybe even the best. TNLNSL.

Not My Fault

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

5:59pm I finally decided to try this one, as I live at the complex across the street. The nearby establishment is closed on the weekend so today was a great time to look for it. After holding my nose from the nearby duck smells, I literally found it in about fifteen seconds. I looked and there it was. TNLNSL.

Hawaiian Language Lesson #2

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I had put the old coordinates into my GPSr but forgot to download the cache page to my PDA. Tried to search for it without the additional info and hint but was unsuccessful. Auwe! I checked the page tonight and the coordinates changed a little. But probably not enough to have affected finding it. If only I had the cache page on my PDA. Will be back soon.

Parkway #1

By: Stacy & Jerry Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:47pm When we got to the area, I actually looked at the cache's hiding spot but didn't search there for some reason. After looking for about five minutes I wanted to leave but my better half said we should look for another minute or so. I went straight for the hiding spot and there it was. If only I trusted my first instincts. TNLNSL.

By: Stacy & Jerry Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:11pm Surprisingly I found it in about ten seconds after getting to the cache area. One of the coolest camo jobs I've seen so far. Out in the open yet I don't think any muggles will ever suspect it's there. TNLNSL.

Old Blue Eyes

BADGES #1

By: BADGES Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

6:52pm After parking very close to the search area, my girlfriend got out to look for it. It was a fairly busy area so I didn't want to have anyone wondering what two people were doing looking around that certain spot. I stayed in the car and spotted what I thought was the cache. When my girlfriend got back in the car it was my turn to search so I went straight to what I thought was the cache and it was. Cool container! TNLNSL.

Go With The Flow

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

6:29pm My better half found this one after I told her where to look. I stood guard, although there was no one around. She had a little trouble taking it from its hiding place but succeeded after a little pulling. Nice place to hang out but the water should be pumped through a filter or something. TNLNSL.

Honor Roll

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

1:33pm Found this one after getting my car washed down the street. Parked a few feet away from it as it was where I thought it would be. The regular log book was full so I signed a replacement log that another cacher had put in the container. Sorry, I might have dated it 4/14/04. TNLNSL.

WoodWorked

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

We got to the area around 2:15 pm and saw another person there who was looking around the area. Another cacher we thought. He came on over and introduced himself as MRsquared. We looked up and down, high and low, under things, below things, on top of things, etc. but we couldn't find it. We decided to call it a day for this one after about 20-30 minutes. The tree cover was really bad, our GPSr jumped all around, even when lying still on the handrail. Will try again another day.

Cards are us

By: PhilippeGPS (Maintained by MotorBug) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

12:21pm Found this one after searching for a couple of minutes. Sorry, I think I dated this one 4/14. When I was walking away from the cache area, an old man walking his dog was staring right at me. But I think his dog wanted to chase the squirrels more than trying to figure out what I was doing in the bushes. The white and black bag probably should be replaced...it's starting to get brittle and may fall apart soon. TNLNSL.

Catch Some Air Too

By: bykenut Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:54pm Found this fairly quickly after waiting for a woman who was stretching to move on. I retrieved the cache from its hiding place, turned around and there she was. Not sure if she saw me or not. Walked down to the creek to sign and wait for her to start walking away. Just as we were leaving, some Little Leaguers started arrive for practice nearby. TNLNSL.

Travel Bug Coffee Break

By: Kreebelle (maintained by WalruZ) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

4:30pm While my better half ordered a cafe mocha (which was delicious, btw) I looked around for the container. Couldn't find it so had to ask the barista. At first he said what? Token Gesture

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Found this one fairly quickly with the hint, since my GPSr said I was 50 feet away. Very nice day...sunny with a little breeze so it wasn't too hot. Saw a few birds, including a goose that two local birdwatchers told me has been sitting on her nest since the beginning of the month and little goslings should be swimming around mid-May. I didn't have any tokens so I left a dollar bill and took kablooey's smashed penny. Too bad I didn't have my sig item with me or I would have left that.

Have a Ball

By: boulter Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

The parking lot was empty so that was good. Then after walking for five minutes my GPSr went crazy. First it stopped picking up satellites so I stopped. When it finally locked on, my position had jumped a hundred feet away. For the next five minutes I kept walking back and forth on the same portion of the trail because my position was all over the place. I finally stood still for a couple of minutes and got a good lock. Found the cache a short while later. TNLNSL.

The People Zone

By: garyhenry Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Found this one after walking through the school grounds, playing on the jungle gym and then exiting the school grounds on the opposite end. I was actually looking at the cache before we parked but didn't think about it being there. TNLNSL.

A's & Giants 2002

By: The Xeroids Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Found this one after a short hike. We took the trail on the left instead of going up the shorter trail. My better half found this one while I was bushwhacking in a wrong spot. Cool hiding spot! We parked at the spot suggested by The Rat. There was someone else also parked there so our car was somewhat in the street. When we got back to our car, the person in the car was walking around picking up trash and told us that a security patrol had just told him that no parking was allowed there. There is a no parking sign but it is up at the top by the water tower, nowhere near the parking area. Anyway, he told the patrol that he'd pick up trash in the area if they let him stay (who really knows what he was doing there?). There is a private road sign there also. But great views of the area. TNLNSL.

Met Creep yet?

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

2nd time's the charm. Went back today with a better idea of where to look. Found it in a couple of minutes in one of the areas I was looking at yesterday. There was some water in the container and I tried to dry it as best as possible. The logbook was damp but I was able to write on it using a pencil. There was kind of a mildew smell to it but hopefully as it warms up it'll go away. TNLNSL.

MERMAID

Met Creep yet?

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I figured out the second part of the hint. I just wish I had paid more attention to the first part. My GPSr kept zeroing on different spots so I was walking all over the place. Will try again another day. Lots of poison oak in the area, by the way.

The Luuuuv Cache

By: I_LiKe_PiE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Found this one around 1:45 pm. The arboretum and villa were pretty empty but we still bumped into another cacher on the way to the cache. Walked around for awhile before checking out the hint which helped greatly since there's some tree cover and the GPSr readings were jumping around a bit. Sat down near the cactus and saw this little critter. Not sure what it was, groundhog maybe? Took digital fish #328 and left a Hawaii keychain.

Foreign Exchange

By: I_LiKe_PiE Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

We got within a few feet of it, we think. Anyway, whoever parked there decided to tie up their fairly large dog to their car tire and let him walk around freely. Not wanting to find out if the dog was friendly or not, we decided to try to find it again some other time.

Hidden Gazebo I

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Wildcat Creek Shell Cache

By: 2marbleheads Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Found this one with "Team MauiBuilt" after crossing the creek a couple of times. The GPSr was going crazy under the tree cover. My brother used the can as a chair while we waited for a couple of muggles to pass by. Too bad I didn't have any shells from Maui. TNLNSL.

Montalvo Water Company

By: 2marbleheads Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

This one was the hardest to get a good GPS lock on. The tree cover made it quite difficult. The better halves, well quarters, of "Team MauiBuilt" decided to stop and chat while my brother and I went around in circles. Walked around the forest for about fifteen minutes before taking the right trail. TNLNSL.

Pay Attention

By: I_LiKe_PiE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Montalvo Lookout

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

There were some muggles sitting on the bench and chatting but my brother decided to go through the brush to find it. I think he must've scared them a little because they left suddenly after hearing noises in the brush. Found with "Team MauiBuilt". Took Livin' La Vida Dorka TB and left my signature item. Great view!

Montalvo Crossing

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Parked a few feet from this one but it was the last find of the day. Found this one about 5:30pm so not many people around. Took geocaching.com keychain and left a Hawaii keychain. Five finds for "Team MauiBuilt" today. Will have to come back for the 6th Montalvo cache later as we drove past it on the way in.
