Any Happy Hybrid Rat

By: Workerofwood & I_LiKe_PiE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

4:11pm Only a couple of walkers in the park but no one even close to the cache site. It took looking in a few places for a few minutes before my girlfriend found it. Nice camo. TNLNSL.

Pie's Birthday Puzzle

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

4:00pm Thanks to Batfish, I was able to figure this one out. Not as easy as it seems if you don't know where to even start. The hide was also not as easy to me as it might be to others. Took a few minutes to find it, getting a lot of stuff on me. There was a spider on the cache as well as the earwigs running around. Nice camo. TNLNSL.

Apostrophe

By: The Rat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:46pm Finally found this one, after a hint from Batfish. Still didn't know what the hint meant until I put the cache back. Doh! TNLNSL. Toadally Bowers April 25, 2004
First DNF on a 15 cache hunt today. Did find lots of cat food and tuna cans though. I?ll come back after someone else confirms its still there.

Nig on park

By: kg6mov Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:17pm I don't consider myself all that vertically challenged (5'7") but I had to make a couple of jumps to get this one. As for being out in the open, I looked up and down the street but saw no one. Who knows, there could've been someone looking through their home window but oh well. Had to give a big jump to get it back. TNLNSL.

Thirsty?

By: stbk Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

5:25pm Parked down the main road in a cul-de-sac and took a nice stroll over to this one. Saw a couple of ducks in the "pond" and took a couple of minutes to find the cache. Just followed the geo-trail. TNLNSL.

What A Crock!

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Looked until my hands were black from reaching in every nook and cranny. Maybe I'm too short. Spent about ten minutes looking but decided to stop because we were parked in KPMG's lot and we weren't sure we could park in it.

Whisman Park

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

6:39pm Parked about fifty feet away and found it within a minute. No one on this side of the park. The other side was quite busy. TNLNSL.

Along the De Anza Trail 5 - Mountain View

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

8:11pm Parked pretty close to this one. Had to wait for muggles to pass before grabbing, then had to wait for muggles to pass while putting back. Then I realized, I still had the pen in my hand! Again, had to wait for muggles to pass before grabbing, and then had to wait again for muggles to pass while putting it back. Geez, this park is busy in the early evening. Couldn't even look for the other ones in the park, as there were muggles within thirty feet of every single one. TNLNSL.

Border Patrol #1

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:17pm This time, no one was at the park and it only took us about a minute to find. We had been about a foot away the previous try but hadn't looked good enough. TNLNSL.

Los Altos Station

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:41pm The store was closed today so I parked in the Draeger's parking lot and walked over to this one. Found easily using the hint. TNLNSL.

Catch Mike Chosco

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

5:53pm A big thanks to Batfish, who gave me a bunch of hints on this one. There's no way I would've solved it on my own. Some of these puzzles, I don't think I'm old enough to know most of the information needed to solve them. Anyway, we got to the cache site and it took a while to find. Pretty nice hiding spot. TNLNSL.

Orange Lincoln

By: mharrigan Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:11pm Easy drive up and grab using the hint. TNLNSL.

Mercy Mercy Me

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

4:08pm Had driven by this park a couple of days ago but there were a few muggles enjoying the playground equipment. Came back today and the park was empty. Took a few minutes to find. I'd seen this container before and had wondered what it was. TNLNSL.

Forgotten Plaza

By: sammydee Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

5:32pm Everytime I had passed this small park, there was a homeless person on the benches. Finally, there was no one today. It was in the first place I looked. TNLNSL.

Braly Park

By: CTomGeo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:08pm Not too many people around this early evening, only a mother and child near one of the play areas. While my girlfriend rode on the swings to distract any muggles who might be watching, I had a look around. I searched for a few minutes without finding it so she came over to help me look. Took another look and there it was. TNLNSL.

Got Screams?

By: bullit & mickeychopchop Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

6:36pm Our second FTF!!! Walked down the nicely paved trail to this cache site. We definitely heard all of the screams from Great America. As we approached the site, a jogger was coming from the opposite direction so we walked a little bit more until he passed. We turned around and I went down to the cache site while my girlfriend waited on the trail. Another jogger passed us and more than likely saw me down near the cache. Well, she probably saw my yellow shirt but nothing more. Took the whistle/compass keychain and left my signature item. Signed log and had a nice walk back to the car. Thanks for the cache!

San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail #1

By: bullit Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

6:24pm Our very first FTF!!! We saw this cache pop up and we rushed out of the house to go find it, as we know how hard it is to get a FTF around this area. We parked nearby and saw an SUV parked in front of us. Uh oh, we thought, somebody beat us to it already. But it was just a jogger. We walked over the bridge to the cache. We could actually see it from the trail so it was an easy find. Thanks for the cache! TNLNSL.

Stuffed Animal Exchange

By: 2marbleheads Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

6:36pm Parked on Farwell street and walked over to this one. Because of the tree cover, we had to backtrack a bit. It took a bit of looking because my GPSr was telling me it was on the wrong side of the trail. My girlfriend found it as I was looking on the other side. TNLNSL.

Easy Does It

By: 2blucats Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

5:50pm No one was at the park so we could walk straight to the cache without anyone watching. Well, at least from the park, since the cache site is in plain view from a bunch of homes. I was looking around when my girlfriend found it. TNLNSL.

Secret Stairway #2- Downtown Saratoga

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

6:23pm Came to the cache area a few days ago but didn't have the cache page in my PDA so came back today and found it pretty quickly. It's in plain sight to everyone but I don't think anyone but geocachers will ever notice it. Nice placement. TNLNSL.

Hunter's Point

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

4:06pm Second time on these trails. The first were for the other two caches nearby. Got to the top and there were four muggles enjoying the view. Then two mountain bikers rode up, followed by four more muggles. Eventually, they all left and I could go searching in peace. Found it pretty easily although I did lose my footing a couple of times. Left Lisa's Bug TB and took the Oregon geocoin. Signed log and enjoyed the views!

Coin Currency Exchange 2

By: peachey Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

4:49pm Parked on a nearby street and walked over to this one. Took a while to find, as the tree cover was pretty good. Then the cache was covered pretty well but eventually found it. TNLNSL.

Silly CA

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

5:05pm After first bypassing this one due to the barking dog, we went down to Nail Behind Oakland and then came back to this one. We were quiet so we didn't hear the dog again. Took a couple minutes of looking to find it. I don't think anyone should be too worried about the dog barking. The owners are probably used to it barking, since their backyard borders a well-used trail. TNLNSL.

Nail Behind Oakland

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

4:58pm After bypassing Silly CA because we heard a barking dog, we walked over to this one a little ways down the trail. Found it in a few seconds of looking. TNLNSL.

Urban Assault #17

By: Ruprex and his Girl Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

6:59pm Parked about a tenth of a mile away and walked over. There is parking next to the cache, but we needed the exercise. Easy find once we got there. TNLNSL.

Big Rigs

By: 60elcamino & K9 & Purr Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

7:23pm It was after work, so nobody was around. I felt better knowing the cache was placed with permission. Took a few grabs to finally find it. TNLNSL.

Paramount Importance

By: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

6:28pm Second time searching for this one. We've actually driven past the spot a few times but employees were always outside on a break. Then again, each time we drove by, the cache seemed to be in a different spot, according to our GPSr. Today I took a few steps toward the cache when my girlfriend said, "I found it". Boy, that was quick. TNLNSL.

No Name (yet?) Park

By: Jim and Jeanette Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

7:10pm There was only a mother and child at the park so we had a seat, found the cache, and watched a few planes take off from the airport. TNLNSL.

Agnew Park

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

[6:34pm Second try on this one. This time, armed with a] flashlight [we found it the first place we looked. Last time I probably was staring right at it but I couldn't quite see it. TNLNSL.]

Thirsty?

By: Mallrat46 & 2 & armofreek Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:47pm After finding another downtown Campbell cache, we walked down to this one. We almost walked past it, when I glanced over and saw it in it's hiding place. TNLNSL.

What is your story?

By: nostrada (adopted by OneAngryPuppy and Frivla Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

6:51pm A barking dog decided to bless us with its presence behind the nearby fence but it was an easy find with the hint. TNLNSL. In this room, there are hundreds of guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, rats, and mice, all running on spinning wheels, which in turn power the lights at the nearby intersection.

In Memoriam

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

5:42pm Parked in a lot further into downtown Saratoga and walked over to this one. Used the hint to find it fairly quickly. Took it to a bench to sign the log. A minute later, a couple of Harley bikers decided to park right across the street from the cache site. So I had to get down on my hands and knees and throw the cache back to the spot from the opposite side. Not quite a perfect throw, but pretty good considering the situation. TNLNSL.

My Kind Of Town - Campbell

By: Thefogheads Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:39pm Decided to see downtown Campbell on a holiday, when it's less crowded. Parked right next to the museum, which was closed. A couple of minutes later we found it. TNLNSL.

Syngnathus fuscus

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:15pm Came by a couple of days ago, but a woman and her daughter were sitting in the general area of the cache site, giving us a good look. We decided to try again today and this time, the skate park was closed so we had the area to ourselves. The GPSr was of no help, jumping around so I sat down and scanned the area. I saw something that looked out of place and found the tools. The first place I tried, here came the cache. Nice hide! Probably the coolest one yet. TNLNSL.

Saratoga History

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Tried looking for about fifteen minutes. There was no one around so we could look without being bothered. The GPSr kept on putting in the middle of some ivy so we decided to just look for what the hint might refer to. I must be half-blind because I didn't see anything. Will try again another day.

Secret Walkway #5 - Shadow Oaks

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

5:27pm First we drove past the walkway entrance twice, then we walked past the cache location twice. Finally, after deciding to give up on this one, we saw it on the way out. We also saw a bee hive in a tree with a lot of buzzing bees, which wasn't near the cache site. Good thing they weren't irritated. TNLNSL.

Assume Nothing #2 1/2

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

6:43pm Second try on this one. I literally found it in 30 seconds this time. And believe it or not, it was right where I dreamt it was. Yep, since DNFing this one, I've dreamt about it for two nights. Last night I dreamt I found it but I couldn't remember where to put it back. No such problem today. Very, very, very tricky hide. Everyone that has DNFed this one, has probably seen it. Maybe even a couple of times. TNLNSL.

Along the De Anza Trail 3 - Campbell

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:31pm After being there for a couple of minutes, the GPSr was jumping around. So I decided I would sit down on the bench and think about it. Before I got to the bench, I decided to look at a certain spot and there was the cache. Great camo! TNLNSL.

Fork in the River

By: bullit & mickeychopchop Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

7:40pm There were a few cars flying by but they probably didn't care what we were doing on the bridge. Took a few minutes to find. Nice view of the cattails and even a goose. TNLNSL.

500 Server Too Busy

By: boulter Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

8:01pm Figured this one out a few days ago and a quick email to the owner confirmed my coordinates were correct. Tried a couple days ago to find a way to the cache but couldn't. Today we tried another street and we found some good parking. A leisurely stroll down to the cache took about five minutes and the find took another minute. Glad to get the fourth closest cache to my home coordinates found. TNLNSL.

A Day At The Races

By: Mallrat46 & 2 & Frankenlurch Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

4:06pm The park was empty today so it was a fairly quick find, with a little bit of searching. There were a bunch of snails on the ammo can and I managed to get slimed while knocking them off. Yuck! TNLNSL!

Monsters Could Hide Here!

By: qphoebemonster Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

5:21pm After looking for this for a couple of minutes, a couple of neighbors across the street asked what we were looking for. I explained geocaching and they said, "no wonder there were so many people looking in the bushes". After we found it, they congratulated us. TNLNSL.

Assume Nothing #2 1/2

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

No one was around today so we could look without being bothered. Searched nearly everywhere, on both sides of the fence. I even pulled up something that hissed at me. We didn't want to give up but it was getting hot. Now that I see that a lot of cachers with a lot more experience and hides couldn't find it either, I don't feel so bad. SMILIE

Seek Side

By: Kreebelle & Kids Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

4:04pm Only a soccer coach setting up for practice was nearby so it was a fairly easy find. TNLNSL.

Stomping grounds

By: ~Ninja~ Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

4:35pm No one was around when we got there so it was an easy find, although I had to reach a little farther than I wanted to. On the way out, a man and his grandkid decided to slide down the nearby slide. TNLNSL.

Splish splash find a cache

By: a Russell in the bushes Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

5:39pm Drove past the site before turning around and looking for it again. No one was near so we pretended to watch the practice. Walked right up to it and knew where it was. TNLNSL. Decided to call it a day after this one because we were 10 for 10 for the day and we NEVER have a day like this. 100%!

Pirate's Booty

By: Beckbeard & Andsmee Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

3:34pm Second time's the charm. We had been within a foot of it on our first try but didn't see it. No one was at the park today so we could look without being bothered. TNLNSL.

Hawaiian Language Lesson #1

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

1:30pm Decided to get my car washed so walked over to this one. Easy find after translating the clue. Great camo! TNLNSL.

Travel Bug Coffee Break

By: Kreebelle (maintained by WalruZ) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Stopped by to drop off Koosh Mickey and Agnes Bug. And had a very delicious strawberry banana smoothie. Quite refreshing!

See the POWER

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:55pm After letting the GPSr settle a little, I looked around and walked over to the cache. Yep, there it was. Nice hide! Headed over to the "real" park to look for the other cache. TNLNSL.

Spur of the Moment 2

By: Calikat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

5:20pm A few people at the nearby playground but no one near the cache. Nice little garden nearby too. TNLNSL.

Congress Springs Rock Cache

By: 2marbleheads Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

5:05pm After walking well too far into the ivy, went back and found it hidden quite well. A bunch of little league games were about to start but there was only a coach and a couple of players at the nearby field. I always wonder what these muggles think when they see someone walk out of the bushes. TNLNSL.

Sound Bites

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

2:35pm We had actually figured this one out the first day it came out but our GPSr kept telling us that it was in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The cache owner confirmed our coordinates were correct and today our GPSr was acting a little better. Took Lisa Bug and signed log.

Not So Secret Walkway

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:14pm Parked on the other side of 85 and had a nice walk over the speeding traffic. Got to the area and looked around and around and around, pretty much everywhere. Twenty minutes into our search, I picked up the GPSr and did another walkby of the area. It said 2 ft away and there it was. Very nice hide! TNLNSL.
