A Memorial to Our Lost Veterans

By: Team LegGoes Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

6:22pm Our fourth try at this one and finally, success! Of course, we got a major location hint from the cache owner. Nice series and touching memorial. Took TPS token and tried to leave my sig keychain but it wouldn't fit, so left one of my sig tokens, signed log.

Saratoga Creek Overlook #1

By: Bughound Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

6:32pm We had tried searching yesterday on the way to another cache but our GPSr was telling us it was on the other side of the road. So on the way back, we tried the other side, but our GPSr said it was back on the other side. We came back today and missed it on our first pass but eventually found it. Like WoW said, did you find it like that or did you put it together? TNLNSL.

A Memorial to Our Lost Veterans

By: Team LegGoes Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

Another DNF for us. We only looked for about ten more minutes before it started to pour but we looked at places we hadn't searched before and places we did search before but thought we might have missed it. Any hints would be greatly appreciated!

BADGES Dinner #6 (South Bay)

By: BADGES Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

Thanks again for a great time with great food and great company. And thanks for the battery charger!

Calabazas Park

By: GeoBrowns Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

1:27pm Fourth to find on this one. We had been to this park to find the previous cache so of course, I had to look where the previous once was hidden, just in case. Of course, it wasn't there. Our GPSr led us around in circles until I saw something that looked like it could be a cache but I wasn't sure if I should mess with it. Well, I did, and it was the cache. Nice camo once again! TNLNSL.

Not Rainbow Camo

By: GeoBrowns Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

1:15pm Fifth to find on this one. There was no one in the park on this cold and windy day so we were able to search at ease. We looked for a few minutes until the GPSr settled down enough for us to make the find. Nice camo! TNLNSL.

Cupertino City Center Cache

By: GeoBrowns Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

2:00pm STF on this one. When we pulled up, MRsquared and shadow101 were chatting. Shadow had already found it so after chatting with him, he was off to another cache. We joined MRsquared in the hunt and after about twenty minutes, my "lady" found the nicely hidden cache. Nicely done, once again. TNLNSL.

Bored Of Caching?

By: GeoBrowns Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

2:24pm We pulled into the parking lot and saw a "gaggle" of geocachers chatting. They came over to us and we all chatted until it started to rain. We went over to look for the cache and after a couple of minutes, we found the nicely hidden cache. TNLNSL.

Wizard Walnut Huller

By: rib Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:30pm We had tried this one previously but there was a wedding going on in the museum courtyard. Today it was empty so we got to walk around and see the machinery. The tractor startled us when its engine started. Of course, it was a recorded sound and there was a speaker in the tractor. Still cool though. It was an easy find thereafter. TNLNSL.

Man's Best Friend

By: Penny & Chaos Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

We found this statue of an Australian Cattle Dog in front of the Los Altos, CA youth center.

My tribute

By: ~Ninja~ Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

12:55pm Found this one today when the campus was pretty empty. We found the first and third spots easily but the second spot put us about fifty feet away. We found the numbers though and found the nice tribute. Thanks!

Love

By: The Rat Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

We tried this one again and after searching many places we still couldn't find it. Any hints would be greatly appreciated!

Convolute of the Square (a.k.a. ANTS!)

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

2:20pm I've driven past this one many times but never tried to find it. Today we found a good spot to park nearby and walked over to the cache. We had to use the hint to find the cache because of the tree cover. It was covered good but we found it and TNLNSL.

Reflect on this

By: garyhenry Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:14pm I had tried this previously but had misinterpreted the clue and was searching the wrong area. Today I immediately saw where the cache should be so we parked on a side road and walked over to the cache for a quick find. TNLNSL.

Walkway to Loyola

By: budd-rdc Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

2:45pm We had tried this one before but the dog barking scared us off. After reading the logs that said the dog is always barking we decided to try this one again. We found it fairly quickly after a few muggles passed and the dog paid attention to them instead of us. Nice hide! TNLNSL.

McKenzie Park

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

2:31pm Our GPSr was telling us the cache was behind the fence but we knew it wasn't there so we used the hint for a quick find. TNLNSL.

E.L.P.

By: stbk Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

1:23pm We drove up to this one and I could see the cache from the other side of the fence. We walked around and through the park and saw the new playground. I tried to cover the cache up better but if there's any wind, I can see the camo blowing away. TNLNSL.

Cache into Caches

By: garyhenry and The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

1:41pm We parked at the golf course and walked up the hill. Our GPSr led us astray for a couple of minutes before we just looked in spots good for hiding a cache. Found in shortly thereafter. Nice camo! TNLNSL.

BADGES Dinner #6 (South Bay)

By: BADGES Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

The last count makes it over 100 people attending. I wonder how many total finds all the attendees combined have. Sorry, too lazy to count but it is quite a few.

King Arthur's Tor

By: 2blucats Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

6:02pm Success! And without any help too! It was kind of random, the way we figured out what the tor was. I can't really write it in my log as it'll make this one a lot easier. All I'll say is that we were driving around looking for another cache when something I saw reminded me of this cache. We figured out the coordinates and went to find the cache today. Nice container too! Thanks for a very satisfying cache! TNLNSL. P.S. I still have no clue what the second and third hints mean. Maybe someone can let me know?

Burning Brightly

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:41pm We'd tried this one a couple of times before but had searched the wrong spot and too many muggles. Decided to just go for it today but when we got there, there was a truck with its engine running, keys in the ignition and no one inside. So we went into Rite-Aid for a few minutes and when we came back out the truck was gone and it was an easy find. Not too noisy this time, you just have to go slow. TNLNSL.

Castro Park

By: sammydee Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:59pm It was raining a little so there were no little ones running around the nearby playground. Took about a minute to find. Nice container! TNLNSL.

One More

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:07pm After eating lunch at Baja Fresh (ha!) it started to pour. But the rain let up as we drove up to this cache. Of course I knew where it was so I didn't bother looking at my GPSr. Of course, I was wrong but a quick look at my GPSr led me to the correct hiding spot. TNLNSL. P.S. It wasn't one more for us, we found seven more after this one.

Sunnyvale history

By: CTomGeo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

2:57pm Back with the correct coordinates and no rain, it was an easy find. Thanks for the history lesson! TNLNSL.

Free WiFi #3

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

5:55pm Figured out the coordinates at home and went to find it today. Parked in front of it and it was in the third spot I looked. My flashlight helped since it was getting darker. TNLNSL.

Back To School

By: misterfranklin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:13pm No one around on this damp day. Easy find with the hint. TNLNSL.

Why?

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

4:52pm We have no idea why this thing is here. Makes me think of a Boulter puzzle cache we did previously. Easy find since there weren't too many hiding spots after checking out the hint. TNLNSL.

Cupertino Library v3.0

By: stbk Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

6:17pm It was getting dark by the time we got to the library but it's a nice place to be at night also. After the first coordinates we were walking over to the second set of coordinates and saw the fountains getting higher and higher. Very pretty at night. Since it was getting cold we drove over to the cache site and it was a quick find after that. TNLNSL. P.S. We have library cards at the Sunnyvale library but after seeing the Cupertino library, we're gonna get cards here too.

Sunday Soccer

By: zapboy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

4:24pm We parked at a legal parking spot and made the trek over the school field to the cache site. Some dog walker passed by so I pretended I was doing something on my PDA till they passed. I was looking in the wrong spot when my better half reminded me of the hint which led to a quick find. Nice hide! TNLNSL.

Iao Valley

By: WhipLash511 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

Could the next person who finds this please post their own coordinates as it seems the posted coordinates are off? And I also think the difficulty should be raised from a one since it has almost a 50% DNF rate now.

Hamann Hangout

By: Jay, Caine, and Becca (wwp) Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Looked for about 45 minutes, with help from a fellow cacher who pulled up to the park about five minutes into our search. It always seems the caches we DNFed had been previously found by cachers with little experience. Maybe not having seen so many caches helps when looking since you don't have those visions of previous caches in your mind. Any hints would be greatly appreciated!

A Memorial to Our Lost Veterans

By: Team LegGoes Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

Well, we found the very creative first stage but had no luck at the second stage. We looked at many places where a magnetic cache could be placed but had to abort as it was getting dark and we didn't want to walk through the park when it was totally dark. We'll try again soon.

SC- not! - What is wrong with this LC?

By: nostrada (adopted by Frivlas & OneAngryPuppy) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:56pm This one took longer that is should have, considering we had checked nearby spots two or three times but didn't see the cache until about ten minutes later. Nice hide, TNLNSL.

Ultimate Battleship: WW3

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

3:41pm STF, which is surprising since it's been up since last night. When I first saw this one come up, it was on my closest to home unfound list and it looked pretty difficult. I couldn't figure out what to do so I watched some TV and then looked at the page again about an hour later. I did something I should have done right off the bat and I figured out the coordinates shortly thereafter. Went searching for it today and my better half spotted it first. There were a few drops of water in the cache, not sure if it's from the rain or a sprinkler. But the logsheet was dry. Nice puzzle, TNLNSL.

Sunnyvale history

By: CTomGeo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

We decided to try this cache since it had stopped raining. We figured out the coordinates and started looking. It started to rain so we aborted the search for another time. And now that I reread the cache description on my computer instead of my PDA I see that I made the math error that previous cachers have also made. Will try again soon.

Numbers the Army Way

By: Sgt Stitches Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

2:49pm With some help from Batfish, I was able to finally figure this one out. Went over today to find the cache. Found some nearby "legal" parking and walked over and found the cache fairly quickly. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache. TNLNSL.

A Memorial to Our Lost Veterans

By: Team LegGoes Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

We spent a good twenty minutes looking for this one before giving up. There was no one around on this chilly day so we searched every nook and cranny within fifty feet of where our GPSr zeroed out. Couldn't find it but now that I see DavidT21 couldn't find it after finding it previously, maybe it's gone. I'll put it on my watchlist.

Ulistac Nature Preserve

By: mickeychopchop and bullit Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

2:25pm I'd been to this preserve before for another cache but since there were a couple more to find we came back on this chilly day. Only saw a couple walking their pug. Found it fairly quickly using the hint. I looked through the contents and didn't see anything I wanted to trade for and was about to close the lid when I saw a little black rectangle on the bottom of the ammo can. It was a black winini token and as I can see, it's been there for a while. I took that and left my sig item and signed log.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place

By: mickeychopchop(and bullit) Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

2:31pm Walked over from Ulistac Nature Preserve on this chilly day. Took a couple of minutes to find but eventually found the nicely hidden cache. TNLNSL.

I'll Surf No More

By: stbk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:22pm Took a few minutes to find the correct way to get to the cache site but once we got there it was a quick find. We don't have the mentioned device but we do have a Dish DVR, which is great. And it's cheaper at $5.00/month. TNLNSL.

~ Look Out For Flying Needles ~

By: ~ AfricanQueen & Khumbupacesetter ~ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

5:20pm As we drove up to the cache site, there was someone already there. It was shadow101 and we joined forces to find the cache. Used the hint to find the cache, although it was nicely hidden. Chatted a while with shadow101 and then we were off for some grocery shopping before heading home. TNLNSL.

SC-16 - Mission Corral Site - LC

By: nostrada Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:37pm We found the previous cache in the gazebo so we knew where we had to go. There was no one around on this chilly day so it was a quick find and sign. Only one more in the SC series to go. TNLNSL.

Outdoor Warning

By: bullit Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

3:33pm It took a few minutes to find this one because it's a great camo job. My better half finally said, "what about this?" and of course, she was correct. BTW, I'm the one that logged the siren as a locationless. Sorry! TNLNSL.

Sunnyvale Technology Museum

By: boulter Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

1:51pm I'd been to this museum many times before, spending endless hours browsing the displays and "donating" a bunch of money to the "society" that runs it. I knew where the displays I needed to find were so it was an easy find. And I didn't "donate" any money on this visit, although I was tempted. TNLNSL.

SC-10 - Bracher Park

By: nostrada Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

2:06pm It was a chilly afternoon so there weren't too many muggles out, only a group playing volleyball. It took a couple of minutes but my better half found it. Only a couple more in the SC series. TNLNSL.

Lou's diamond in the rough

By: Team Shadow Cat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

4:20pm We went to the wrong park at first and saw we were blocked by the creek in between. So we had to drive around the block to find the entrance to the field. It took a few minutes to find but found the good camo job. TNLNSL.

Outdoor Warning 2

By: bullit Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

2:05pm Didn't have our GPSr with us today but we knew which park it was in and where it should be. Only a couple of people in the park as it's a bit wet today so we walked right up to the cache and found it. We did see someone in a nearby apartment window. We wonder what he/she might be thinking seeing everyone converging on the "object". Took digitalfish #1490 and signed log.

Sunnyside

By: Dante Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

4:31pm It took a while but I finally spotted the cache. It's amazing it's been there since 2001. I tried looking for the other cache nearby but couldn't find it. Took digitalfish #1309 and left micro sig item, signed log.

Lumber-Room of Your Library

By: TeamJiffy Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:33pm I had figured out about half the answers about half a year ago. A couple of weeks ago I spent a couple more hours figuring out the rest. The cache owner confirmed I had one of the questions wrong but I figured out my mistake and went searching for the cache today. I found it using the hint as there were many muggles about the park today. Thanks for the trivia! TNLNSL.

Son of Stumpy

By: Rosy3 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:50pm The cache wasn't covered well enough so I found it in the first place I looked. I covered it a little bit better for the next finder. Nice little stream nearby...very peaceful! TNLNSL.

Le Tour de France

By: bykenut Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

3:25pm Finally!!! I had figured out the coordinates to this one last May but previous searches had to be aborted due to muggles or to my own inability to find it. I went back today with a location hint from the cache owner and I found it in the first place I looked. TNLNSL.

POP #3

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

3:54pm I think I solved this one the first week it came out but months later, I finally went looking for it. Using the hint I found it in the first place I looked. Thanks for the puzzle! Only POP #5 and #7 to go for me. TNLNSL.

Over Under

By: Berniquen Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:18pm Based on the hint we knew where we should look but we used the coordinates and followed our GPSr further down the stream. I had plugged in some other cachers coordinates and it got us closer but eventually we had to rely on just feeling and grabbing and hoping we'd find it. We eventually did and TNLNSL. P.S. It looks like I had the original coordinates in my GPSr. The current ones are much closer to what I got.

Romantic Rendezvous 3 ? NEM

By: hals99 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

6:08pm Got some ice cream to use as cover and found the cache in about a minute. Something just looked out of place and there it was. TNLNSL.

Quicksilver Sig Item Trading Post

By: Team Nazgul Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I saw that Ckayaks had dropped a couple of his coins so I went up today to try and get one if they were still there. They were so I took one and a WoW token and left a 2004 Mauison sig item, a 2005 Mauison sig item, and a micro sig item. Didn't see any deer here today...must have been scared off by the previous cachers.

Picnic on the Corner

By: stbk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:48pm It's a not-so-busy street corner in the early evening so we parked at a nearby street and walked over to this. Found it pretty quickly. TNLNSL.

Hidden Sports Complex

By: stbk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

5:32pm We had looked at leasing at one of the nearby apartment complexes (too expensive) so we knew where we had to go. It took a while to find the cache but luckily my flashlight made the cache shine a little and I found it. TNLNSL.

Tanks for the Memories

By: stbk Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:17pm I didn't know it but I was using the old coordinates so we searched for a while. Our GPSr was jumping around so I finally sat at a nearby table and waited a while. I saw a good place to hide a cache and went over to investigate. Like Team Nazgul said, the camo makes it easier to find. TNLNSL.

POWER Lunch

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

1:25pm Decided to stop here for a little lunch break with my better half. We picked a table close by and when my GPSr wouldn't settle down I said heck with it, I'll just look for it. I saw something a few feet away and it was the cache. There were only a few sporatic dog walkers in the park today so I took it back to the picnic table to sign. Great camo! TNLNSL.
