By: zapboy with help from workerofwood Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

1:35pm Lunchtime caching on a nice sunny day. Spent a while looking on the wrong side before going to the other side. My better half found it. Nice container. Took a bead and signed log. We're doing these backwards...only need #1 now.

Star Gazer

By: Buzbon Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Other

3:25pm Even though this one was 45 minutes out of the way for us, we saw there still might be a chance for the ND/BB geocoin so we headed north today. We finally got to the trailhead after a couple of wrong turns. We walked down the trail and I saw what was referred to in the hint even though our GPSr said we were still about 145 feet away. I took a look and saw the cache, which was uncovered. I opened the cache, hoping to see a geocoin but I didn't see anything at first glance. I checked the logbook and saw that there had been another visitor since Nurse Dave's visit but hadn't logged online. Dang, they probably took the geocoin. I decided to look in the cache a little better and at the very bottom I got a glint of metal and there it was! Just as I took the coin out, it started to rain so we hightailed it out of there. Took ND/BB geocoin and card, left Oregon geocoin and sig item, signed log.

Northwest Passage

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:14pm Parked nearby after driving around for a few minutes. Walked over to the cache site and look for about a minute before having to wait out a muggle walking by. My better half found the nice camo'ed cache. There was a bit of moisture in the cache, probably due to the rain but the log was fine. TNLNSL.

Nig on park 2

By: kg6mov Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

3:35pm I had resisted trying to look for this one but since we were in the neighborhood so decided to try this one. Found it in the first place I looked, thankfully. TNLNSL.

A Red Bridge Near A Blue Pheasant

By: stbk Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:14pm When we walked up to the cache, another cacher was already there searching. It was garyhenry and we joined forces to look. This one only took about five minutes before I spotted something that didn't look quite right. Very nice job on the hide. We took turns signing and chatted a bit before heading off to the next cache. TNLNSL.

ANNP

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:34pm There were only a couple muggles playing basketball so we walked along the pathway and found the cache in the third place we looked. As were were signing, another muggle walked past and scared us because we hadn't noticed her walking by. TNLNSL.

Saratoga Creek Overlook #2

By: Bughound Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

We looked for about fifteen minutes with no luck. I did see the geocaching sticker mentioned in a previous logs. After reading some of the earlier logs, I know what kind of container to look for so we'll be back soon, especially since it's on the first page of our unfound, closes-to-home list.

4:34pm We first ended up on the wrong side of the creek, then we found the rat trap. I decided to just look for good hiding spots and I saw something and it was the cache. The logbook was damp, probably from everyone signing it in the rain. TNLNSL.

A 100 Million Year Walk Earthcache

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

2:04pm #500!!! And a new icon!!! This cache was very educational and the surrounding scenery reminded us of the valleys back on Maui. We went to the first site and started walking down the wrong side of the stream but quickly figured out we needed to be on the other side. The second site was also pretty, with the sun poking through the trees.

Shades of Gray

By: Lil Devil Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

12:39pm I figured this one out a couple of weeks ago after trying to figure it out a few times previously. We were in the area today and decided to see if the coordinates I got were correct. I used terraserver to see where it should be so it took a couple of minutes to find. Honors go to my better half for finding it. The log isn't wet anymore but it is a little moldy. TNLNSL.

Virginia Park Cache

By: Thefogheads Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

2:06pm Only a father and toddler in the park today so we could look around easily. Couldn't find it after a couple of minutes so I set my GPSr down to look at my PDA. I decided to look in the area and my GPSr was basically right on top of the cache! TNLNSL.

2:29pm We had our trusty tool with us so it didn't take too long to find. When I was grabbing the cache, the lid fell off but didn't fall onto the road fortunately. It doesn't stay on too well anymore so a new one might be in order. TNLNSL.

2:15pm We have a smaller import (Prius) so we parked right in front of the cache, which we could see from the road. When we opened it, there was a "pack" of Jazz's but we had already found one yesterday in Mountain View. We did take the Peoplesoft bracelet, left a sig keychain and signed log.

By: winini Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

3:52pm Was finally able to go find this one after finding a Jazz token yesterday. We walked around the area for a good ten minutes because our GPSr was telling us it was in the middle of the grass field, which we knew it wasn't. My better half finally found it and we TNLNSL.

A Tom Cat Washed

By: Team Shadow Cat Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

3:35pm Our GPSr led us on a zig-zagging pattern across the field and my better half mentioned that it reminded her of marching band practice. She found the cache before I had a chance to start looking. Took WoW token, left Cav Scout wooden nickel and micro sig item, signed log.

AHA Tom Cat Weds

By: Team Shadow Cat Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:24pm The nearby little league field was packed with parents and spectators but the cache area was quiet and empty. Easy find and I could reach it! Took M & J penny 999 and left M & J penny 704, signed log. On the way to the other cache in the park we passed someone with a GPSr but didn't get her name.

MiddleField Madness

By: MadDad (maintained by bullit) Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

1:40pm Out of the office to enjoy the weather and some lunchtime caching. And to hopefully grab Jazz #8. Our GPSr had us wandering for a few minutes until it decided to settle down and tell us where the cache really was. Hard to believe, but Jazz #8 was still there so I took that, left my sig item keychain and signed log. Interesting camo, by the way.

International Space Station

By: Klunz Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Virtual

6:56pm I had this one on my watchlist for a while but the weather's been pretty bad here in San Jose, CA. But all day the skies were clear so I knew tonight would be a good night to spot the space station. I used my compass to point me in the right direction and I waited for the space station to appear. And there it was, going across the sky. It was pretty cool. I took a bunch of pictures but only a couple came out decent.

Evil Empire

By: Stiv Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

3:13pm The campus of the empire was quiet today so it was an easy trek over to the cache. My GPSr was pointing in the wrong direction. Should have gone with my first instinct. I couldn't get the lid to stay completely shut. TNLNSL.

Love

By: The Rat Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

5:50pm Ah, success! After our second DNF I emailed the cache owner and got a nice hint. We went back today to search and were about to post another DNF when my better half decided to check one last thing. Yep, there it was. Very tricky although I've seen the same hide before. Glad to get this on off my DNF list. TNLNSL.

Los Altos Gateway

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

5:07pm After stopping at a nearby Jamba Juice, we decided to check our GPSr for any nearby caches. What do you know, only a couple of blocks away. We parked further up the street and walk back to this one. I had a good idea of where it was and it was in the second place I checked. TNLNSL.

WALK YOUR BIKE

By: trode Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:30pm This one took us the longest to find today. There were bikes zooming by and we searched for about ten minutes before rethinking our searching. While walking back down the path I saw the cache. It took some creative effort to get the cache and to put it back though. Almost got creamed by a rollerblader going back up the trail. TNLNSL.

By: stbk and Eug Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

By: zapboy with help from workerofwood Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Google Falls

By: MadDad (maintained by bullit) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:34pm After a nice 5.2 mile jaunt up and down Stevens Creek we were pooped. But what the heck, let's go find another nearby cache. It took a couple of minutes, as we were lured to check another nearby object but my better half found it about a foot away from where I was checking my PDA for additional info. Of course, this wasn't our last of the day...five more after this one. TNLNSL.

Ode To Gilligan

By: stbk Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

2:38pm Found this one while on a 5.2 mile jaunt up and down Stevens Creek Trail. I started searching but couldn't find it so I checked my PDA for additional info. While I was checking past logs, my better half walked up to me with cache in hand. As a reward for finding it, I sang the cache song to her while walking down the trail. She got a kick out of it. TNLNSL.

View From The Office

By: stbk Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Cooper Duper

By: MadDad (maintained by bullit) Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

5:34pm Our GPSr was pointing us in an area I didn't really want to search (ivy) so I looked around and saw something that looked like it belonged there but sort of didn't. Great camo! Took Squints button, left micro sig token and signed log.

HERE's the Beef, Frank!

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

9:55pm We had tried this one before but were unsuccessful. We tried again tonight, when the store was closed and the parking lot was empty. Or so we thought. As we got to searching, a white SUV pulled up next to the search area. My better half said, maybe they're geocachers. And they were. Bughound, Neverbug, and Retlawfan joined the hunt and they were the ones that found it. We had a nice chat about Bughound's first hide and were on our way. We finally get to take this off our DNF list. TNLNSL.

Halt!

By: stbk Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

BADGES Power!

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

7:25pm Out food shopping at Nob Hill and decided to find this one that I hadn't done during the BADGES dinner. Didn't have a flashlight with me but there was enough light to see the cache. I'm not sure what lid the other cachers are talking about. Didn't see any lid so maybe it fell off? It was too dark to see what was below the cache. TNLNSL.
