End Station - VTA Mystery Cache

By: frivlas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:25pm We got some free parking a ways away and walked over to the final area. I should have looked at the first place I suggested but didn't so it took a couple of minutes to find. #35, thanks for the series! TNLNSL.

Romantic Rendezvous 1 ? NEM

By: hals99 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:34pm We'd driven past this one a few times before but there was no nearby parking space or muggles were around. Today, there was a parking space right next to the cache so we were able to find the cache easily. TNLNSL.

M & J Geobeads #5 - Travelbug Memorial

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

4:55pm In between VTA Station caches, we stopped for this one since it was along the route. We took a nice walk and took a few minutes to find the cache. There aren't any more beads in the cache, at least I didn't see any. Maybe the next finder can confirm. Took TB, LNSL.

WoW's Polymer Clay Workshop II

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

Yep, I was in the Geocoin Looney section but I was very impressed with some of the claywork, especially the skull vase.

VTA Fruitdale Station

By: frivlas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:08pm We parked in a nearby lot and walked over. We had to wait out a few passing muggles but found the cache very quickly. TNLNSL.

VTA Race Station

By: frivlas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:21pm Easy drive up find. Jenn didn't see it at first but checked again and there it was. Took RocketGirl tokeb, left sig token, signed log.

VTA Bascom Station

By: frivlas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

6:03pm The first time we drove up to the cache, there was a family in their nearby car, so we went to go find another station cache. We came back and saw the cache, but there was a muggle sitting nearby waiting for a ride, I guess. So off we went to another station cache. We went back again for this one and the coast was clear. Good thing we have a Prius, all this driving back and forth. TNLNSL.

VTA Hamilton Station

By: frivlas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:20pm Parked nearby and walked a few feet to the cache. Saw it peeking from its hiding spot. TNLNSL.

VTA Downtown Campbell Station

By: frivlas Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:46pm Parked within 20 feet of the cache and we could see it hidden. Took 2B sig ticket, left sig token, signed log.

VTA Winchester Station

By: frivlas Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:54pm There was an employee outside her nearby store, so we drove off. We drove down Winchester, did a U-turn and when we came back, we saw she had gone back in. So we went back and found the cache, which we could see from the car. TNLNSL.

VTA Diridon Station

By: frivlas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

4:33pm Another easy drive up find. I pointed out a spot where I thought the cache was hidden and when Jenn checked, there it was. TNLNSL.

Nighttime Sky

By: momagna Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

6:42pm This was near Jenn's office so when she had to go to the office, I said I'd go too. Of course, I knew there was a cache nearby. Easy find, first place I looked since I had read the previous logs. Took SM button, left sig token, signed log.

On Hold

By: stbk Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

FTDNF [:(] I saw this one pop up and figured out what I had to do to get the coordinates. Of course, I wasn't sure if they were the correct coordinates. So we jumped in the Prius (any other car and I wouldn't have tried for the FTF) and headed out. When we got to the site, it looked promising until I saw a chain link barrier and a Private Property No Trespassing sign. Oh no, I've got the wrong coordinates it seemed as our GPSr was telling us the cache should be about 40 feet into the private property. We searched a few spots outside of the private property but didn't find anything. And we didn't see what I assume the hiding spot should be either.

On Hold

By: stbk Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

3:51pm STF...I figured out my mistake after the checksum was added and headed out to find the cache. We spotted where we thought the cache was hidden, walked over, found the cache, opened the log...curses, foiled by Batfish! We don't mind being STF in this case as the FTF couldn't have gone to a finer person. TNLNSL.

End of the Road

By: blackfrancis, adopted by Team Nazgul Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

5:10pm Man, was that a long walk. At least it was breezy so it wasn't too bad. It took a while to find because of the numerous hiding spots but we eventually found it. Thanks for the exercise and cache. Took emergency blanket, left Jaybee wooden nickel, signed log.

Charleston Stormpumps

By: bullit Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

4:09pm I still needed a B/W Jazz token for winini's cache nearby so we went in search of this one. It took a couple of minutes to home in on the hidden cache. Took B/W Jazz token, left Jaybee wooden nickel, signed log.

Car Wash

By: bullit Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

6:10pm FTF!!! Yep, it's still there and I must say that it's an instant classic. Luck was on our side today as we were searching for about ten minutes and I decided to check something and there it was. Very nice hide and since I don't like to use the "e" word, I'll call it an NSA (not-so-angelic) hide. TNLNSL.

Our Lady of the River

By: Kreebelle & Kids (maintained by WalruZ) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

6:15pm It took a couple of tries to figure out how to get where the cache was. When we finally got there, I could see the top of the cache sticking out. We also startled a buck in the general vicinity but it was grazing solo. TNLNSL.

Water You Looking For?

By: Woof! and kablooey Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

4:45pm I think I solved this one the week it came out but didn't go out to find it until today. We did a little hiking and found this one along the way. TNLNSL.

Let's go LEGO #1

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

6:37pm After a couple hours of hiking we went over to find this one. The deer ribs have magically reappeared on the way to the cache, along with a leg nearby. Maybe it's a new set of ribs? Anyway, we found the cache easily and decided to take the pieces back to the car to solve. We finally solved it after about fifteen minutes. It would have taken us shorter but there's a piece missing and that was the one piece that we were trying to fit for most of the time. We took the piece back to the cache and will try for #2 at a future date. Daryl, I'll email a photo of the puzzle later so you can see which piece is missing. TNLNSL.

Deer Hollow Farm

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

5:45pm This one took a while to find in between groups of muggles walking past. When we finally found the cache, the trail was empty. Right when we wanted to replace it, the trail was filled again. Pretended to be getting something from my backpack and replaced it. Took sig stamp, left micro sig token, signed log.

Friday Night, Behind the Shed

By: stbk Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

7:09pm It took a while to figure out the theme to this one, but good friend Google helped me come up with the answer. I found it in the first place I tried. TNLNSL.

Power Trail View

By: stbk Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

4:58pm We had to wait out a few muggles but we found it fairly quickly. And the nearby views were great! TNLNSL.
