Pie FacedBy: CCCooperAgency Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
3:38pm This one took three visits to finally find the cache. Should have searched a little better the first time. We had already made our purchases after the first search so we found the cache, then went on to the next one. TNLNSL. Also posted the coords we got, the original seemed a little off.
Good Old DaysBy: CCCooperAgency Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
12:12pm This one took a couple of minutes, as I missed it on the first go around. Jenn made the find and I made the grab. We remember finding another cache a few years ago in the old stump nearby. The log is a little damp from the recent rain. TNLNSL.
A Walk thru YesteryearBy: CCCooperAgency Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
12:25pm The coords put us towards the drainage grate but we backtracked and Jenn spotted the cache. TNLNSL.
Bird-in-HandBy: CCCooperAgency Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
3:11pm I remember coming here when I was younger. Guess it wasn't open today as there were only a couple of cars in the parking lot. We had to come back later in the afternoon as there was someone smoking on the nearby picnic table. When we got back, Jenn made the grab. The log is full so I could only squeeze a few letters on the log for our geonick. TNLNSL.
Pennsylvania deutsche markBy: CCCooperAgency Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen
3:47pm I remember finding a cache here a few years ago but the playground equipment that it was hidden in is no longer here, replaced with some more modern playfare. This one took a few minutes to find, just glancing here and there until we spotted it. The log is already full so we had to squeeze our name at the end. TNLNSL.

NC Geology #1: Paleo Pavement EarthcacheBy: Geologygirl (aka GneissTuff & Wacky) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen
We decided to make the nice drive from our hotel to this cool spot this morning, before we head over to GW5. We thought there might be some other cachers around but the place was deserted, with only the noise of cars passing by over the bridge upstream? We enjoy caches like this, that takes us to very beautiful spots. Mahalo!
GeoWoodstock 5By: ncgeocachers.org Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Large
We flew from California, then drove from Pennsylvania via Washington DC, to attend GW5. We're glad we made the decision to attend as we got to meet many other geocachers that we've only conversed via email before. The food was delicious and everyone had a great time. Mahalo!
The view of an "Honest Man"By: wv-explorers Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

FDR MemorialBy: Jorgy! (adopted by mtn-man) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual
2:03pm When I last visited DC many, many years ago, this memorial had yet to be built. Very impressive to say the least. We enjoyed this one quite a bit. Mahalo!

To a man on his dayBy: geekcoach Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual
1:29pm We were on our way to another cache but came across this one first. Nice spot for a memorial but about six and a half years later, ground hasn't been broken. Too bad but eventually it should be really great. Mahalo!
Trev's "Freedom" CacheBy: Trevelyan's R & R and Guy Nelson Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Virtual
2:33pm Halliday almost got us on this one. Took a while to finally get the answer, whose search took us all over the memorial when we didn't really need to do that. Mahalo for the cache!
Jenny's CacheBy: Trevelyan's R & R and Jenny Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Virtual
1:37pm A very picturesque spot and nice and cool in the shade. We got to cool off a bit while doing this nice virtual. Mahalo!
The Other UnknownsBy: TheKayakPack Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Virtual
4:50pm We jumped on the Metro and took it out here from DC. Just one transfer from the yellow to blue line, pretty simple actually. We had already walked all around DC and our legs were telling us no more as we trudged up the hills of the Cemetery. But we prevailed and found the spot. We also watched the Changing of The Guard at the "other" tomb of the unknown soldier. Mahalo!
Last stop for a weary travelerBy: Ice G8r Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual
12:20pm Unlike the last cacher who found this one, this was our first cache of the day. Now, about 9 hours after we left our hotel, we got back to our room. I think we walked about nine miles in total today. This one took us a few minutes until I finally spotted what we were looking for. Very cool spot with great views of the Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. Mahalo!
Capitol ViewBy: Buddhavista Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

Not Your Granny's GardenBy: Garmen ( & Women) Group Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

a Wood Chuck's ParadiseBy: Salvo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual
7:13pm Unfortunately, the walkway and road right in front of the tree was blocked off by Capitol Police for some reason. Anytime someone tried to pass the "invisible line", they'd get barked at. Anyway, I did manage to get a pic from a ways away.
The Summer HouseBy: Roostermiesters Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual
5:42pm A nice secluded spot to sit and relax after walking a bit. And no muggles around. The fountain could use some work though. Mahalo!

Soldiers DelightBy: flyingmoose Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Not chosen
This was almost a comedy of errors for us. First we went to the visitor center to look for a restroom, but it was closed. Didn't find one or maybe it was inside. Then we looked at one of the maps and saw that we were in the wrong parking lot. So we drove over to the overlook parking lot and started towards the cache. The coords put us under some trees so we looked around and saw a fenced in area. I took a look and that wasn't it, just a hole in the ground. So we looked at another map that we got at the visitor center. Hmmm, pit mines down the trail. At least we thought they were down the trail. By the time we were done hiking, we were back at the parking lot...we had done the whole loop and still hadn't found the correct mine. So we figured we must have missed something. Back to the original spot. And there we finally found the correct mine. It was also fenced in with a sign saying "Warning, not for public use", so not wanting to trespass, I took a pic from beyond the fenced-in area. And soon thereafter, we finally got to use the restroom, at a McDonald's down the road. What an adventure and what a relief!
Joker Poker #1By: ratjam Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
4:42pm We had a nice walk from the car, only interrupted by a local sitting on a cooler and drinking a beer along the trail. Found the nice geotrail and made the grab. Tried to continue along the trail but got to a dead end. Decided to walk around the pond on the way back. TNLNSL.
"Always" MorgantownBy: joeyandmaggiesmom Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
2:02pm The hint told us where not to look so it was a quick spot and grab. We've seen many of these types of caches from where we're from (Bay Area, CA) so we spotted it quickly. TNLNSL.
Wally World 11 - The CloisterBy: SBUX, adopted by N3UEA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
4:21pm We had looked for this one about three years ago (when we were in the area last) but it was at night and with no flashlight, had no luck. Today, I spotted it quickly but had to dodge what I thought might be Poison Ivy. When we were signing, some Walmart employees sneaked up behind us and t ook a smoke break on the bench. Not sure what they thought of us or maybe they've seen other cachers here before. TNLNSL.
Hopewell's Last BlastBy: FlyinV Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen
We took a nice drive from my grandparents's place in New Holland. The visitor center wasn't open but there were brochures available. We used the map to go to the seven locations but found out only three of the locations were working/unlocked. The audio in the Wheel House wasn't working and the Office & Store, Blacksmith Shop, and Ironmaster's Mansion were all locked. A very interesting place to visit, even if all the exhibits weren't viewable.
Big Slide HideBy: WeBFree Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Ancestoral Home #3By: ganurse6 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
We parked across the street and made our way through the cemetery. We found a good spot to hide a cache but didn't see anything. Then our GPSr told us to concentrate on another object outside of the cemetery so that's what we did with no luck. I think we should have searched longer in the other spot, it was probably there. If we're passing by, I think we'll make another try.
Pie FacedBy: CCCooperAgency Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
We spent a few minutes looking here and there, actually finding a few good spots for a hidden cache, but to no avail. There looks like there was some landscaping done here recently, not sure if this made any difference or not. We did stop in the Village to make our jams and jellies purchases and cool off with a birch beer.
Knot funnyBy: CCCooperAgency Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
12:48pm Since this was a three-star difficulty cache, my mind was thinking of all kinds of things on the way to the cache. When we got there, it was much easier. Jenn spotted where we should look and I made the grab. We got to partake in a nice snack soon thereafter.
Canned GoodsBy: CCCooperAgency Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
12:40pm After finally finding where to park, we made the quick grab. We've seen this type of cache before many, many times since we live in the Bay Area, CA. TNLNSL.

Over the BridgeBy: matratrgjj Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small
12:06pm There were some horses nearby, with some youngins in the herd, so we got to watch them play while searching. It was a quick search as the cache wasn't really hidden. I made the grab and we quickly TNLNSL and hid it a little better, although not completely hidden.

Pigeon Point LighthouseBy: bullit Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Secret Trail Head: Panther & Yellow Banks BeachesBy: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
1:08pm This was the first cache of our Santa Cruz to Daly City drive today. Took a few minutes to finally spot and make the grab. Very nice views from here but we didn't venture down the hill to the beach, too many caches to find! TN, left my traveling STeamTraen micro geocoin, signed log.
Tales of Odysseus: The Trojan HorseBy: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

San Andreas Goes Surfing EarthcacheBy: geeeff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen
6:25pm This was the last cache of our Santa Cruz to Daly City drive this nice Sunday. After eventually finding our way to the parking lot, we made the approximate half mile walk down to the cache site. Very cool formations and the view was awesome! Took a few pics, then made our way back up to the car. Saw a couple of paragliders running down the hill but not taking off. There was someone filming them so maybe it's for an instructional video or something. Mahalo!

OSB BOBBy: St.HelenaCachers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
3:05pm We decided to spend the day in St. Helena and Napa so I took a look at some puzzle caches last night. This one was similar to a couple I've done here in the South Bay and after plotting a few combinations on Google Earth, only one made sense. Still wasn't sure but we found the cache in a nice hiding spot. Took digitalfish and pathtag, left a geopin and a geocoin, signed log.
