San Joaquin Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary

3:00pm We also dodged the construction traffic and parked at the Audubon parking lot. Walked along the ponds and over the boardwalk and finally turned around when we spotted an egret very close to where we had to walk. Saw some ducks, coots, and the egret. Thanks for the EC!

Submerged River Valley - Upper Newport Bay

3:52pm It was already turning chilly but we made our way down to the bridge and took a look in both directions. We could see the water flowing and some wildlife enjoying the area. Thanks for the EC!

1:01pm I'm always interested in fossils so this was on our must-do list. Easy walk from the parking area and we found the information without difficulty. We checked out the shell fossils but were unsure if they were the real fossils or manufactured fossils. Thanks for the EC!

1:46pm We were visiting Japantown with family and while they were shopping, we made the short walk over to this spot. Very cool and it meant something to me, as I once met Ellison Onizuka at a Boy Scout gathering in Hawaii, where he gave a speech and signed autographs for us. Mahalo for the cache!

The Cat in the Hat

4:32pm When we got to the cache area, there were two lovebirds sitting on a rock. We decided to just take a look anyway. Eventually, they left and we searched some more. We were about to give up until I saw the camo bag. I missed seeing it on my first couple of sweeps in that spot. TN, left a traveling Geohana geocoin, signed log.

4:38pm When we got to the cache area, we spotted the cache since it wasn't covered. There were a few boys playing hide and seek in the area so we went to another cache then came back for this one. The coast was clear so we made the grab. TN, left a traveling Forums geocoin, signed log. P.S. For this one to be completely hidden, its hiding spot will have to be changed. To each side of its "perch", the soil has eroded so the cache will keep falling down if it's a bit windy or if it rains.

Cactus Garden

3:45pm Ouch is right! I pricked myself reaching for the cache and Jenn got a thorn in her arm while helping me put the cache back. Luckily, I had my trusty Leatherman and used it like a pair of tweezers to pluck the thorn out. Took Texas Hank TB, left an Alaska Micro geocoin, signed log.

4:58pm This one took a while to find. While searching, my mom called from LAX airport and we had a nice chat while Jenn kept searching. When I was done with the call, I helped Jenn search and she suggested looking somewhere and when I did, I found the cache. Nice hiding spot! TNLNSL.

4:32pm Cool bones! Very interesting that there could be more just like it under the nearby buildings. I've seen other whale bones before at Lahaina, HI and New Bedford, Maine, but none this old. Mahalo for the EC!

4th Part Of The Walk

3:45pm There were muggles near Alpha & Omega, so we decided to walk out to this cache first. We bypassed the other two in between, since we had already found these, one year ago to the day. We decided to check out the ocean and see if there was any marine life we could see, before searching for the cache. We think we saw some seals but without binoculars, we weren't sure. Anyway, we finally started searching for the cache and Jenn made the find. TN, left my traveling Caching Around America geocoin, signed log.

12:53pm I had solved this one before my last trip to Morro Bay but didn't have the time to go search for this one. Our last day in the area so we had to go search for it. Nice path to guide us to the cache, with some poison oak dodging but not too bad. We found the cache, TNLNSL, and watched the surfers doing their thing for a few minutes.

The Place to Play In Morro Bay

5:33pm After doing the nearby EC, we decided to look for this one. I scrambled along the ancient volcanic ash and started looking. I thought something might be the cache but didn't check it. Jenn suggested I try again as she thought it was the cache and it was. Cool container! Took the HI Geohana Geocoin, LNSL.

2:00pm I was golfing at the Dairy Creek GC and saw there was a cache right next to the 12th tee. We were waiting for the group ahead of us to hit to the green before we could tee off so I went searching for this. There was a part of the barbed wire fence that was down so I squeezed through and after a few moments of searching, I spotted the cache. Definitely easier to get to from the golf course. Took the Mr. Wonderful TB, LNSL.
