This old park feels like a long lost friend

By: wadazi and bentleythecat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

We couldn't find the cache in front of the park and we couldn't find the cache in the back of the park. We don't know if it was the dwindling daylight that made it hard to see but there didn't seem to be many places to hide a decon container. Checked the obvious spots but didn't find anything.

Westwood Oaks

By: Valdemar74 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:30pm We took a walk around the park, then searched for the cache. Had to look in a few spots before Jenn spotted the likely hiding spot. She was right and I made the grab. TNLNSL.

The Sam Box

By: geomagguy Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

4:15pm No rain today so there were muggles about, playing cricket, soccer, basketball, tennis, etc. There was one muggle talking on his cell phone near the cache but he walked away as we approached. We checked a few spots before I spotted the cache. Took a couple of TBs, LNSL.

The Calzone Cache

By: cowswithguns9119 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

4:42pm Last time we searched for this one, wasps flew out of the likely hiding spot. Another try and no wasps this time. We've eaten at this establishment and found the food quite delicious. TNLNSL.

L-grl's Horde

By: Capt Tong & the Jungle Mock Rangers Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

4:34pm We decided to take a nice pre-sunset walk along the Bay. Along the way we heard what sounded like gunshots so maybe there were hunters in the distance. There were a few muggles walking around so we guessed it was safe. Had to wait for a passing muggle before grabbing the nicely camoed cache. It really blended in! Took a couple of TBs and a geocoin, left a couple of TBs and a few traveling geocoins, signed log.

The Mint Box

By: geomagguy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

5:15pm Luckily, this was an easy one for us. Nice hiding spot! TN, left a traveling Geocachingdragon geocoin, signed log.

Can You Find It?

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

6:13pm We've passed by this walkway many times before, as we used to live down the street. We knew where to park and where to search. A Sprint employee walked past, presumably to his car and soon thereafter I spotted the cache. Waited for a greenlight and for the cars to leave before replacing the cache. TNLNSL.

The Apple Tree

By: stbk Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:49pm We've passed by this cache many times but finally decided to go look for it today. We parked at the Donut Wheel, grabbed a donut to go, then had the nice walk down the street. We checked the wrong object first, then checked the correct object. I think this might be easier in the dark, as my flashlight let me see a tiny little piece of blue shining. TNLNSL.

Have a Ball

By: boulter Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

We were in the area for a nice pre-sunset walk so we decided to stop here, a cache we had found in April of 2004. Didn't have a ball to drop off but I did drop off my traveling Mauison Hot-Air "Ball"oon Geocoin, signed log.

Who Is This?

By: dw Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

3:52pm Finding parking here was harder than spotting the cache but we lucked out and got a spot quickly and spotted the plaque just as quick. Got the coords, then went inside for some lunch first. After sharing a chicken bake, churro, and some lemonade, it was off to the cache. No cars were looking for parking in that area so we found the cache and TNLNSL, then back to our car. I just did a search for whose name was on the plaque but didn't find anything. Maybe a former employee?

Auld Lang Syne

By: Wildbun Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

2:58pm As we drove by, we thought about where we should search. We parked nearby and made our way over to the cache. There were a few muggles jogging here and there but none near the cache site. Took a few moments for Jenn to spot the cache. I made the grab, then we TN, left a traveling Canadian Micro geocoin, signed log.

View From The Office Too

By: Vaudesir Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

3:13pm Back again today as I figured out my mistake last time. This time, we were on one side of the fence, didn't find anything except a garbage bag full of something (didn't get too close to take a better look). So we went to the parking lot side and looked from that angle. Jenn spotted the cache quickly and I used some finger dexterity to bring the cache over the fence. TNLNSL, then back over to the other side of the fence went the cache.

POP #9

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

2:40pm Yipee!!! Our last WeBeDnD puzzle that we've solved and found. I definitely needed help on this one though and I got it from a fellow cacher. Got the coords and we were in the area today so we went for a look. There were a few muggles about but none near where we needed to search. Jenn had the better caching eye today and spotted the cache. TNLNSL. Mahalo for all the puzzles Daryl!

Cigars (Ca.)

By: rscout79 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

4:19pm We were in the area so tried this one again. As we walked toward the cache site, I realized I hadn't entered the corrected coordinates into my GPSr. Luckily, I remembered the correct answer to the puzzle and put it into my GPSr. The GPSr then led us to where we had just looked. Looked at the puzzle again and realized I couldn't add. New coords into the GPSr and it was a quick find after that. TNLNSL.

Screwed Up

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 4.5 Container: Large

2:01pm When this puzzle first came out, I solved it right away. But we didn't feel like finding it until today. We had to park a few miles away but luckily we were able to hitchhike to the cache site. We spent a few hours looking for it, even though it was snowing. I eventually found it, taking everything in it, leaving nothing, and we even forgot to sign the log.

MAYA'S TIME

By: Rain734 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

5:18pm We decided to try this one again today since we were in the area. We found the sculpture, figured out the coords and what do you know, it led us to the exact same spot as last time. After thinking about what we should do, we decided to quit for the day since it was getting darker and colder. I looked at the description one more time, saw the coords for the plaque, plugged them in, and saw that they were quite far from where we were searching. So we followed the path from the sculpture to the plaque, then kept walking in that direction. I saw something, thinking it might be part of the hint. We sat down nearby and looked at the coords. Hmm, only one digit off from the coords we had figured out. So we plugged in the coords we thought were correct and soon thereafter we found the cache. TNLNSL but we trashed out a non-kid friendly item.

At least one of us will attend, if not both. Looking forward to it!

Waiehu Beach Flying Nut

By: Angry Eyebrows Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

#1700!!! 4:23pm My parents live right up the road in the nearby subdivision so I should have found this one sooner. But we saved it for our last cache find on Maui this trip and also for a milestone cache find. We parked in the lot and made the nice walk along the beach, admiring a rainbow over the ocean. I spotted a good spot for the cache and after taking the harder way to the spot, spotted what was referred to in the hint. Wanted to take the Menehune Man but no trade item so took a traveling geocoin instead, LNSL. Mahalo for the cache and Hauoli Makahiki Hou!

Kanaha Beach Cache

By: yeanyco Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

1:20pm We've been to Kanaha Beach park many times before but it's amazing how busy and crowded it's gotten. We parked where the kite surfers seem to be and walked over to the cache site. I thought I saw a good hiding place but didn't look good enough as my mom found the cache after I started to check other spots. TN, left a couple of TBs (next to the cache), signed log.

Whale Town!

By: northern gecko Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

4:51pm As we were walking towards the cache, I saw some whales spouting offshore. Jenn went back to get the camera from the car but by the time we were ready to take a photo, the whales had stopped spouting. So off to find the cache we went. It took a while until we spotted part of the hint, then I made the find. We had looked at that spot but not good enough. Took Julia's Bug TB, LNSL.

Hoku

By: northern gecko Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:35pm I was hoping I'd never see one of these type of caches on Maui but I guess it was inevitable. There were some muggles around but Jenn pretended to talk on her cell phone while I made the grab. TNLNSL.

Stock Up!

By: northern gecko Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

4:15pm While living on Maui, we used to come to this mall for the treats at Dairy Queen or Cold Stone Creamery. Jenn made the find before I even had a chance to start looking, the eagle eye cacher she is. Took traveling geocoins and geopin, left a geocaching patch, signed log.

Palms Palms Palms Palms Palms

By: northern gecko Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

5:06pm Not too many muggles around so we could search around. Took a couple of moments to find the cache. Nice beach nearby but no time to check it out. On to the next cache! TNLNSL.

Little Ball of Fun!

By: northern gecko Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

5:23pm We enjoyed the nice walk along the beach to the cache. Took a few minutes to find and we're sure glad the object in the hint was replaced by Ninja Emery or we're not sure if we would have found the cache. Email on its way. TNLNSL.

Life's A Beach

By: Wally Would Go Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

3:14pm Our first cache of the day. We've been to this beach many times before but hadn't ventured to where the cache is. Quick find and after looking at the contents, we took two TBs, LNSL. Mahalo for the cache!

Spam and Eggs

By: Ninja Emery Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

4:25pm Jenn stayed in the car because of the mention of chickens, although I didn't see any in my search. I had to stop every few feet to pull the kiawe thorns out of my slippers so I would suggest shoes while searching for this one and definitely no bare feet, even though it's so close to the beach. Used the hint to make the quick find. If you really want Spam and Eggs, go to McDonald's just down the street. TNLNSL.

Soul Sisters on Mudslides!

By: Northern Gecko and Wild Wiggly Beanz Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

3:38pm We searched for this one over a year ago but had no luck. Back today and we found our GPSr taking us to a different spot than where we searched previously. Still took a few minutes to find but we prevailed. TNLNSL.

Heaven's View

By: northern gecko Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

If this cache is no longer there, it should probably be temporarily disabled so it no longer shows up on PQs. Mahalo!

Prickly's Brother!

By: northern gecko Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

We DNFed Prickly Monkey so we wanted to redeem ourselves by finding this one. But the sun was setting and we were unsuccessful. The grass is very green now so maybe the hint doesn't apply anymore. We stopped further down the road to take photos of the sunset so that made us feel better.

Kula's Sun

By: delija+ma Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

1:35pm We've driven past this park before but didn't really notice it. So it was nice to find another spot on Maui we never knew about. This one took about fifteen minutes to find. We checked many, many spots, even helping to rebuild the small rock wall. We got sidetracked looking at spiders and almost gave up searching. But we checked one more time and when Jenn spotted a lizard, she also spotted the cache. This one's a little tricky! Took TB, LNSL. Mahalo for the cache!

Pulehu Coin Exchange

By: Angry Eyebrows Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

1:04pm Our first cache of 2008! It was a nice day today we drove up from Jenn's parents' house in Pukalani. We made this one harder than it really is. We checked one spot out first, didn't see anything so checked out another spot. Then I asked Jenn if she had looked in a certain place at the first spot. She said she didn't think she did so we went back to the first spot, looked a little better and there was the cache. Took two pathtags and the CO geocoin, left a non-trackable Yosemite Geocoin in case (left it next to the cache), signed log.
