Tales of Odysseus: Calypso, Sea NymphBy: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
2:05pm Our first cache of the day during a drive along the coast. Jenn, my dad and myself took the nice walk to the cache. We had jackets on but it got quite warm, although when it was breezy, it got a little chilly. This one took a few minutes, as we zeroed out at a different spot than what the hint said. We followed what the hint said and found the cache. TN, left my traveling Sydney geocoin, signed log.
Where Land and Sky and Sea Speak to TheeBy: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
4:08pm This was on our to-do list today and we made the trek to the beach with my mom and dad. There it was quite windy and chilly so they stayed while Jenn and myself made our way to the cache site. It took a while to find, as our GPSr was pointing 70+ feet away from where we eventually found the cache. There was a plastic bag under the cache which was put the cache in when we were done. TN, left my traveling Washington Quarter geocoin, signed log.

2:32pm Our second Tales of Odysseus cache today, walking over from the other cache. Too bad there wasn't a more direct way from cache to cache. The hint led us directly to this one and it was an easy grab. Took a TB (I think), left my traveling motogrrl Antarctica geocoin, signed log.
Secret Trail Head: Three Mile BeachBy: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
3:00pm This one was an easy one as we parked right next to it. We left this cache as the last to find as it gave us something forward to as we were walking back from the other caches. TNLNSL.

4:35pm This one took a few minutes to spot, then took a while to dislodge from its hiding spot. I eventually got it down and after TNLNSL, Jenn and myself used teamwork to get the cache back where we found it.

3:18pm I wanted to check out the spot for Ride the Bus for a future attempt (not today as we had the parents with us and the tide didn't look like it would have cooperated) so we stopped on our way up the coast. As we pulled into the lot, there was a CDF truck in the lot, with a bunch of firefighters nearby. We didn't notice until after we had found the cache, that they weren't firefighters, but prisoners. I guess they "work" for the CDF as there was also CA Dept of Corrections written on the truck. Hope the cache is okay! TNLNSL.

1:10pm On our way back from Yosemite and we decided to stop for a quick cache. There was a little caterpillar guarding the cache but we were able to make the quick grab. Took a photo and off we went!

1:20pm On our way back from a nice weekend at Yosemite and we made the quick stop for this virtual. Nice memorial and beautiful view of the creek across the way. The wildflowers should be in full bloom very soon. Mahalo for the cache!

11:45am Our second day at Yosemite but our first cache in the Park. The view was one of the best in the Park, although there were too many to pick a favorite. Mahalo for the cache!

2:13pm On the way to Yosemite and we stopped at the local Jack in a Box for lunch. This was the closest so we made a quick stop. I thought I saw the cache from the car but nope, it wasn't it. Jenn made the find and after TNLNSL, we were off.

2:53pm We were on the way to Yosemite and wanted to make a quick cache find. This was the closest and as we drove up, the obelisk caught my eye. We parked nearby, took a few photos of the obelisk, then went to look for the cache. Jenn made the find and grab and after we TNLNSL, we were off.

4:56pm This was the cache-to-do on our trip to Yosemite. We were on our way to the cabin we were staying at in Greeley Hill, but we made a short detour to find this one first. We drove past the entrance to the dirt road but doubled back and parked near the gate. We made the walk to the cave and after checking out conditions going down into the cave, Jenn and my mom decided to stay on the outside while I went in with my dad. I kept trying to count to 160 but lost my count several times. I tried not to think that I was in a small space and just kept thinking about finding the cache. After a few minutes, I spotted the cache and made the grab. TN, left a special geocoin, signed log. Took a quick photo and headed back out. The crouching for those few paces could be felt in our thigh muscles for a few days after. Mahalo for the very cool cache!

8:30pm We had dinner at the nearby Magnolia Saloon, which purports to be the oldest saloon in California. The Iron Door Saloon in Groveland also says they're the oldest saloon in California. Everything I've read on the Internet says the Iron Door is the oldest. Anyway, afterwards we explored the town, even seeing bats fly out of the window overhangs on the Hotel Jeffery. Thanks for the cache!
