Tales of Odysseus: The Sirens

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Unfortunately, we believe this cache has been muggled. We found a circle of rocks, with an indention in the middle, where a cache would've been sitting. We looked all around, hoping that if it was muggled, maybe it was tossed somewhere else but we didn't find anything. Too bad, hopefully someone can replace this one but maybe move it further from the trail down to the beach.

Laguna Beach Parking

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

3:32pm After looking for the nearby Odysseus cache (which may have been muggled), we looked for this one we had previously DNFed. This time it was a quick find, we could've sworn we looked there last time! Anyway, great to get this cache off our DNF list. TNLNSL.

Sand and Smores, Summer No More II

By: Hula Bum & Kealia Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

5:30ish Once again, a great beach/bonfire/smores event. We ate yummy spam musubi and smores. Great conversations, playing Blongo Ball, LED Frisbee, starting the fire without using matches or a lighter, techno music coming from a boombox, clapping/singing/shouting circle next to us. Too bad we missed the police intervention, not! Mahalo to Ron and Stacey for organizing the event. We'll miss these when we move back to HI.

The Toilet Bowls - Miocene Cold Seeps

By: TerryDad2 (adopted by Touchstone) Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

4:02pm It's amazing that so many people walk right past site up above along the coast drive and not know what cool geological formations are down below. The tide was right and the surf not too bad so we had no problem getting to the site. I wish I had worn my jacket though, it was quite breezy. We checked out the various formations, took some photos, then checked out the marine life in the tidepools. Thanks for the EC!

Tales of Odysseus: Circe, Witch Goddess

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

2:42pm We decided to try and find more of the Odysseus series today before the Smores event. It was foggy along this part of the coast but not too bad where we couldn't see the edge of the cliff. We looked in the wrong spot first, but then let our GPSr guide us to the cache. TNLNSL.

Along West Cliff

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

4:06pm We used the hint and searched the wrong object first, not finding anything. I looked around and spotted another thing to search and there was the cache. There were some muggles in a nearby car but I think they were smoking something a little funny to be noticing us too much. TNLNSL.

By the Light of the Moon

By: Sgt Stitches Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

4:19pm As we walked along Cliff Drive, I spotted where I thought the cache would be hidden. As we got closer, our GPSr led us straight to the cache. Using the hint, it was an easy grab. TNLNSL. Thanks for the great views!

Sand and Smores, Summer No More II

By: Hula Bum & Kealia Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Just found out about this as I don't get event notifications unless they're close to the home area. But add two to the festivities. Mmm, smores!

Slough View @ Oyster Bay NANO

By: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

6:45pm Like others, when we first went looking for this one, we were on the wrong side of the slough. So we found the other caches at Oyster Point, then came back to this one afterwards. Jenn made the find after I missed it completely. TNLNSL.

The Pearl

By: Team kewlby Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

5:18pm I gave Jenn the GPSr and she took us directly to the cache and made the grab herself. Nice hiding spot! Took a Pathtag, left a Pathtag, signed log.

Oyster Bay

By: kusanagi Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

5:31pm This one took a while as our GPSr took us to a different spot, with many hiding spots. We finally widened the search area and discovered we had walked right past the spot when we first started searching. TNLNSL.

Oyster Bay Trailhead

By: cloversmom Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5:03pm First cache of our walk around Oyster Point. This was a quick find with the hint. TNLNSL.

Mom, that's where we saw the butterflies...

By: clu5150 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4:52pm After catching the A's game (they won 8-7), we decided to hit a few caches in the area. We couldn't find parking at the Marina Park so we looked for caches around the area. This one took a minute or so before I spotted the cache, hiding in the shadows. TNLNSL.

The Guy-y Cache

By: Muggle Finder Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

6:02pm On the way to this cache from the other cache, we watched birds dive bombing fish in the bay. Pretty cool. This cache took a while, as we were first on the wrong side of the fence. When we got on the correct side, it was a quick find. After finding this cache, we took the wrong road and had to pass a vulture eating what was left of a skunk, yech! Then after figuring out we went the wrong way, we had to walk past the skunk again. Double yech! We managed to find the correct trail and made our way back to the trailhead. TNLNSL.

Alamo Square

By: irwinSports Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

1:45pm Wow, this was a busy cache today. We managed to find parking nearby and made our way to the cache, dodging dogs chasing balls and muggles taking photos of the Painted Ladies. The coords were spot on and led us directly to the cache. Jenn pretended to take some photos while I made the grab, signed the log, then replaced the cache. TNLNSL.

The K-Leave Me Cache

By: blatherskyte & glamour girl Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

1:46pm #1900!!! The Painted Ladies were our destination for today, as we used to watch Full House all the time. Lots of muggles about taking photos and we took a couple of photos as well. Thanks for our 1900th find!!!

Virgin River Cache

By: rerb Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

12:13pm Quick find while on our way from Vegas to Zion. It was quite warm as we made our way to the cache but bearable. TN, left a traveling geocoin, signed log.

Virgin River Gorge Earthcache

By: supertbone Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

12:08pm We decided to take a break from gambling for a day and drive from Vegas to Zion National Park. Of course, we decided to stop for a few caches along the way. This was a very cool spot, with the colorful geologic features surrounding us. We enjoyed the chance to take a break from the long drive and stretch our legs. Thanks for the cache!

Dinosaur Tracks in St. George Earthcache

By: dino_hunters Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

12:57pm We were on our way from Las Vegas to Zion and decided to stop for a cache in Utah. This one sounded like a fun one and it was. The volunteers sure know their stuff and are very enthused about sharing! The many dino tracks were amazing, especially the one giant piece that's still intact. We took a few photos, then off to Zion! Thanks for the cache!

Big Oh!

By: Baad Daata Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

11:49am We're staying in Vegas for a few days and decided we wanted to visit Zion National Park. We also wanted to pick up a new state caching so this one was a quick exit off the freeway. We found the cache easily, although it must have rained recently because it was lying in some stagnant water, and when I opened the cache, everything was soaked. We signed a piece of paper as a new logsheet and tried to get out all of the moisture but this cache definitely needs some maintenance. TNLNSL.

No Rest for the Weary

By: Baad Daata Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

12:17pm Quick find on our way from Vegas to Zion. The coords were perfect and led us right to the cache. Took Silicon Valley Adventure travel bug, LNSL.

PONG! Birthplace of an industry.

By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

4:02pm There weren't many muggles around on a holiday so it was an easy find. We managed to find some white space on the log to sign our names. Thanks for the video game history lesson! TNLNSL.

Sunnyvale History - Iron Man

By: baocorienteer Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

3:37pm We had been to the location of stage 1 before, but never to the location of stage 2. Thanks for the history lesson, the extra credit lamp post was cool. TNLNSL.

Toys for Lunch

By: Finnegans Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

4:19pm There were some muggles playing tennis and enjoying the shade but none near the cache. We remember searching for a tiki-shaped cache here a while back. Took a few glances to spot the cache. TN, left my traveling GOWT and Micro geocoins, signed log.

Evelyn's Cache

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

3:51pm This one took a while until we finally searched where we should have started searching. I think the log is full but it might've been the other nano we found today. TNLNSL.
