7:10pm Back today to try again to find this cache. We looked here and there for about ten minutes before Jenn spotted the cache and I made the grab. I didn't understand what the hint meant until Jenn told me as we were walking back to our car. TNLNSL.

7:21pm I remember coming to this park for a previous cache, now archived. This current cache took a few minutes to find, as I searched the spot I eventually found the cache at, but didn't see it at first. A later look at a different angle and I spotted the cache. TNLNSL.

7:44pm Aahhh, we're so glad to get this one off of our DNF list. We had tried searching twice previously and also another drive-by but there were muggles parked right next to the cache spot. Today, the cache was right where it was supposed to be so it was an easy find. Took a traveling geocoin, LNSL.

Chalk Bluff

2:17pm Decided to hit a few ECs on our way out of Reno back to the Bay Area. This one was first. Parked across the street and had to wait for a lull in traffic before I ran across the street to grab a sample rock. I used to have an aquarium filter that used diatomaceous earth as a filtering substance. Thanks for the EC!

The Mogul Landslide

2:57pm We found the parking coords easy enough and saw the landslide area across the way. We saw a couple of muggles (hikers) at the top of the landslide. They didn't take the fast way down. =) Thanks for the geo-lesson of this spot and mahalo for the EC!

2:36pm Parked in the packed park, lots of teenagers and families enjoying the cool Truckee River on this warm day. No one was around the deposit though, dusty and hot! Thanks for the interesting geological lesson of this area and thanks for the EC!

PBP #5 - Wiggins Trading Post

5:19pm Needed a Plumas County cache and this was the one that fit that bill. Nice little store and quick find of the cache, nicely hidden. TNLNSL, then off to Reno!

Cowboy's Game's

1:55pm We needed a cache in Modoc County and this was the nearest along our route. It took a few minutes as we kept concentrating on one spot, just not the correct spot. I finally spotted the cache and made the grab. TNLNSL. Afterwards we had a nice lunch of a pastrami sandwich and Maui Onion potato chips, then after reading our buddy Motorbug's log, we had a soft serve cone, before heading out of town.

Lake Lahontan

4:20pm On our way to Reno, what a great place to stop on a long drive. =) And an EC as a bonus! We read all of the info on the information signs and took in the views of the currently dried up lake. Thanks for the EC! Almost forgot, our 60th Earthcache!

Burney Falls

11:24am We stayed in Burney for the night and this was our target cache for the day. What an awesome location, especially since we love waterfalls! We did the walk down to the waterfall and were rewarded with a cool mist along with the beauty of the falls. We even managed to spot a black swift flying around. Thanks for the EC!

Big Sign 89

12:43pm We looked for this one on the way back from Burney Falls. We pulled up to the spot, I thought I saw the cache so I grabbed it and took it back to the car. Opened up and it was empty! It ended up being an empty tobacco container so we trashed it out. Looked somewhere else and spotted the cache. TNLNSL.

Welcome to Nevada (or California)

12:07pm After seeing Burney Falls, we decided to make the walk to this cache. And we're glad we did, after getting to see the view from the bridge, Jenn thought it looked just like part of the Soarin over California ride at Disneyland. We even saw a few fisherman trying to hook a trout. The cache find itself only took a few moments as we used the hint. Took the Lure TB, LNSL.

5:19pm Decided to look for another cache before heading back east. Saw where the cache was probably hidden and thought that it'd be a nice place to find a snake. 4:50pm Decided to stop by after the Giants game (they lost). I had read the logs before and saw that it needed a new logsheet. I brought one along, in a zip bag, to replace the old one. That almost didn't happen because we couldn't find the cache. We were thinking that maybe the cache owner had come along and taken it. But after searching another spot, we looked back at our original search area and spotted the cache. Added the new logsheet and bag, the owner might want to come by and take the old logsheets. Point Reyes Conglomerate

4:02pm After conquering the many steps down to the lighthouse and back, we took a short break, then checked out the conglomerate. This was an amazing geological formation with so many layers. Thanks for showing us another amazing spot! Thanks for the EC!

Point Reyes EarthQuake Trail

2:07pm Our first stop while at Point Reyes NS. We took the nice loop trail, reading all of the signs and enjoying the nice day. We got to the spot of the fence and took the required photo, then moved on. About three minutes later, a very large tree branch fell, hitting a group of teenagers. Luckily, it seems no one was seriously injured, although a bunch of rangers, a fire engine, and a medic showed up to make sure. We'll remember this EC for sure!

Light Up

4:01pm It was a nice sunny day, although it was windy and that strong wind meant our ears nearly froze! =) We made the long walk down the stairs, checked out the neat lighthouse and surrounding buildings, then made the long trek back up. Man, I'm out of shape, as I was stopping every 10-15 steps or so! This spot reminded us of the lighthouse at Poin t Bonita lighthouse. Thanks for the cache!
