The Bonneville Salt Flats

6:18pm Driving to Wendover and stopped at the Flats for a few cachces. Just a couple of other muggles out here, a couple taking some photos and the others were too far out on the flats to see what they were doing. We picked up some of the salt and saw that the granules were much larger than the Hawaiian salt we're used to using in our recipes. TFTEC!

11:51am Before heading toward SLC, we needed to find an Idaho cache. This seemed like a nice cache so we headed for it. Easy find, we've now found at least one cache in 49 states (except Alaska). TFTVC!

3:38pm Made the walk along the Upper Geyser section and saw the many cool geysers and springs and all the way to the Morning Glory Pool. Lots of interesting info on the information signs too. Thanks for the EC!

12:50pm Spent a few hours at the Old Faithful area. We were lucky enough to see OF go off twice, the second time was higher and longer. Even got sprayed with some geyser mist. TFTEC!

1:30pm After seeing Old Faithful go off, we made the trek up to the cache spot. Not being used to the elevation, we took our time and stopped a few times but we made it! Was kind of wary about going off trail but hopefully we didn't leave too much of a trace. TFTVC!

Buffalo Pie - Badlands National Park

2:49pm Visiting the Badlands for an hour or so and this was our first stop after coming through the Pinnacles Entrance Station. What an awesome place! We've been to several NP's in the past month or so and this is one of the more impressive parks. There are similar formations in the Petrified Wood NP in Arizona. Thanks for the EC!

GPS Adventures Maze Exhibit - Putnam Museum

We had already seen the exhibit when it was in CT, but since it was so close to where we were staying, we decided to see it again. This time, we brought Jenn's aunty Betty along with us to see what geocaching was all about. She had fun walking around the maze and it was just as confusing to go around the maze as it was in CT. Had a nice chat with 8nuts MotherGoose about caching and walked around the Putnam to check out the other exhibits as well.

2:46pm I spotted this one first, then let Jenn, her aunty, and cousin look for it too. Jenn spotted it quickly but since her aunty and cousin had never seen one before, it took them a few minutes to spot it. After we got back to our car, we discovered we had a flat tire. One call to AAA, a trip to Wal Mart and four hours later, we had a new set of tires. TNLNSL.

After buying some UM merchandise and lunch, we walked over to this area. Some muggles were spinning the cube but I was able to take a photo with Jenn in it.

Got two sets of coords but we figured out quickly which ones were correct. Walked to stage two and thought we had found something but instead found a bug with large pinchers! Our GPSr led us closer and Jenn found the cache. TNLNSL.

1:21pm Before hitting the Lancaster Outlets, we decided to hit a few caches. This was first and when we got to the cache site we saw the cache, then thought about how we would get it. After a few minutes of trying to figure how to get the cache, we decided that there would be no way we'd be able to get it so off to the next cache we went. A minute later, I saw something and let's just say, I used my brain muscles to get the cache, and replace it. Thanks for the challenge! TNLNSL.

Welcome to Mississippi

2:09pm On the way to FL to grab a cache, then up to AL for the night. We already found some MS caches but we stopped at the rest area for our complimentary soft drinks so we said what the heck, we'll go find a couple more (even though it was 100+ degrees out). This one luckily only took a minute or so although I could see it taking longer since it's such an ingenius cache design. With all the different cache designs I've seen in the Bay Area, CA, I've never seen one like this. TNLNSL.

6:39pm Driving from New Orleans, through MS, through AL, and then to Florida to find a cache and this one was it. The reward of ice cream was a great motivator to go after this cache as well. It took a couple of minutes until Jenn saw the nicely camoed cache. TNLNSL, then grabbed some Cappucino Crunch ice cream for the road.

This one was easier than the other, as it wasn't hidden as well as it probably should have. So after TNLNSL, we hid it a little better.

Chatawa Springs Earthcache

12:20pm We were on our way to New Orleans after spending the night in Brookhaven. We decided to stop at this EC since it sounded so interesting. When we got there, there was no line since we were the only ones there. We used a 32 oz Nalgene bottle to measure and I later converted to gallons. Mahalo for the EC!

5:53pm After a yummy dinner at Deanie's, we walked down Bourbon Street and our only stop was this cache, although other people tried to get us to stop at their various establishments. The fence was closed but we were able to see the statues and get the required info. TFTC!
