12:08pm We decided to take a break from gambling for a day and drive from Vegas to Zion National Park. Of course, we decided to stop for a few caches along the way. This was a very cool spot, with the colorful geologic features surrounding us. We enjoyed the chance to take a break from the long drive and stretch our legs. Thanks for the cache!

12:57pm We were on our way from Las Vegas to Zion and decided to stop for a cache in Utah. This one sounded like a fun one and it was. The volunteers sure know their stuff and are very enthused about sharing! The many dino tracks were amazing, especially the one giant piece that's still intact. We took a few photos, then off to Zion! Thanks for the cache!

Berea FallsBy: Arby Gee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen
3:00pm We're in town for a relative's wedding and had a couple of free hours to cache before tonight's rehearsal dinner. Since we love Earthcache we looked up a few and decided to do this one, as it was getting quite hot and we didn't feel like a long walk. The water was quite dirty, probably from storms around the area or further up river. Thanks for the Earthcache!
Towsley Canyon LandslidesBy: EMC of Northridge, CA Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen
#1800!!! 2:14pm We needed a cool cache for our milestone #1800 and this Earthcache suited this so we made the quick stop. We parked in the gravel parking area and made the short walk over to the coordinates. Looks like the landslides have been overtaken by vegetation. We also heard rattling in the bushes, rattlesnake or just bugs? Mahalo for the cache!

Saphira's TeethBy: TnT Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen
2:50pm I had an idea where to park for this one, since I've been to Kapalua many times before. I was correct and after parking we dodged golf balls and walked down to the rock formations. Very cool, especially with the surf pounding against it and spraying a cool mist on us. We took a few pics, then off to the other cache close by. Mahalo for the Earthcache!
Round TopBy: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen
3:25pm Last time we tried to find this, we couldn't even get to the parking area, as we tried getting to this from a different road. We planned better today and found the parking lot with ease. We got the info we needed about the rocks and made the chilly walk up to the water tank to take a couple of pics. Thanks for the interesting Earthcache!
Plaza de la Paz FossilsBy: DopeyDuck Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen
1:55pm Cool displays! Anything shark related is a must see for us. It's a good thing the megalodon is extinct! Thanks for the EC!
San Joaquin Marsh and Wildlife SanctuaryBy: TerryDad2 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen
3:00pm We also dodged the construction traffic and parked at the Audubon parking lot. Walked along the ponds and over the boardwalk and finally turned around when we spotted an egret very close to where we had to walk. Saw some ducks, coots, and the egret. Thanks for the EC!

1:01pm I'm always interested in fossils so this was on our must-do list. Easy walk from the parking area and we found the information without difficulty. We checked out the shell fossils but were unsure if they were the real fossils or manufactured fossils. Thanks for the EC!
Former El Toro Marine Corps Air StationBy: TerryDad2 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen
3:35pm It was amazing to see so much vacant land, just waiting to be developed. Hopefully, the land will be decontaminated and maybe a very nice regional park could be built. Mahalo for the EC!
Mission Viejo Whale FossilBy: TerryDad2 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen
4:32pm Cool bones! Very interesting that there could be more just like it under the nearby buildings. I've seen other whale bones before at Lahaina, HI and New Bedford, Maine, but none this old. Mahalo for the EC!

Sandstone QuarryBy: Me & Bucky Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen
11:26am Our second Earthcache stop and another cool one at that. It's impressive that they were moving these large blocks of sandstone back then, especially in the Nevada heat. Mahalo for the Earthcache!
Flash Flood!By: Me & Bucky Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen
11:43am Last EC in Red Rock and another cool one because as soon as we saw the wash on both sides of the road, we knew knew we were in the right spot. Made the short walk up the wash to examine the boulders. Mahalo for taking us to Red Rock!
Ancient DunesBy: Me & Bucky Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Not chosen
10:55am While visiting Vegas for a few days, we knew we had to visit Red Rock. And what an impressive place it was! After a quick pit stop at the Visitor's Center, it was off to drive down the Loop Drive. The Ancient Dunes was our first stop and although it was quick hot, we managed to make the short walk to the coords and made our measurement. We also saw a couple of lizards sunning themselves nearby. Mahalo for the Earthcache!
