Caples Lake Resort

By: Adopted by SNSpencer From TahoeBerne Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

6:00pm On our way from Yosemite to Lake Tahoe and stopped here to grab a new county cache. The last time we were in Kirkwood was 12/03 for some snowboarding. Today it was much warmer in the area. Drove to the boat ramp, took a quick photo, then we were on our way. Nice spot, especially with the sun out.

Yosemite's Wonders

By: ChrissySkyking + Blaze Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

6:26pm In the Yosemite area for my brother's wedding on 8/8. We got to go to Glacier Point and Washburn Point for the first time, since the last time we came in April of 08, the road wasn't open yet. Spectacular views from both points, even found the benchmark at GP. Mahalo for the VC!

Oops

By: Susan55115 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

11:56am One more cache before heading towards SLC. Easy to find the object, took a little more work to figure out what the "oops" was. TFTVC!

Bring & Brag (Where the Red Fern Grows)

By: Tree Mover Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

11:51am Before heading toward SLC, we needed to find an Idaho cache. This seemed like a nice cache so we headed for it. Easy find, we've now found at least one cache in 49 states (except Alaska). TFTVC!

film set 02 "THE CORE, CONAIR AND HULK"

By: kd7mxi Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Virtual

6:47pm The coords took us to another site, but we saw the object we were supposed to take our photo with. I enjoyed the Con Air movie, will have to watch it again to see the scenes filmed here. TFTVC!

film set 04 "THE PHILIDELPHIA EXPERIMENT"

By: kd7mxi Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

6:07pm Like others, I've never seen the movie so was unsure of what we needed to have in the photo. Maybe one day I'll rent it and watch to see what was filmed in this area. TFTVC!

film set 00"INDEPENDENCE DAY"

By: kd7mxi Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

6:18pm What a cool spot! There were some muggles far out on the flats, maybe they were shooting off rockets? I've seen Independence Day a few times but maybe I'll have to watch it again to see the what scene was filmed here. TFTVC!

Old Photo #2

By: Savoy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Virtual

1:30pm After seeing Old Faithful go off, we made the trek up to the cache spot. Not being used to the elevation, we took our time and stopped a few times but we made it! Was kind of wary about going off trail but hopefully we didn't leave too much of a trace. TFTVC!

Old Photo #1

By: Savoy Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Virtual

1:56pm After finding Old Photo #2, we headed back down the hill, thinking that #1 was higher up than we were going to go. We were surprised to find ourselves going straight for it. And we were lucky enough to get there just in time to see the "show". TFTVC!

BeeHave!

By: Merry Mocksters Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Virtual

2:11pm Walked around the boardwalk for a while and saw many cool springs and geysers. This geyser was very cool, too bad it wasn't erupting while we were there. TFTVC!

By: Brian and Carlin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

On our way to SD and stopped for this last IA cache before heading over the border. The monument was pretty cool, with the views from above the Missouri River beautiful. Thanks for bringing us to this spot!

All We Are Saying...

By: edward applebee Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Virtual

4:19pm This virtual cache was meaningful to me because my dad was in the Peace Corps many years ago. He has many wonderful memories of his time in India while in the Corps. Thanks for the VC!

The Cube

By: Bernard (Tony) Rosenthal Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

4:08pm We were in the Ann Arbor area to visit UM. We were unaware there was going to be a huge art fair going on at this time. So we actually had to park far away and walk to the area. After buying some UM merchandise and lunch, we walked over to this area. Some muggles were spinning the cube but I was able to take a photo with Jenn in it.
