This old park feels like a long lost friend

By: wadazi and bentleythecat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

We couldn't find the cache in front of the park and we couldn't find the cache in the back of the park. We don't know if it was the dwindling daylight that made it hard to see but there didn't seem to be many places to hide a decon container. Checked the obvious spots but didn't find anything.

POP #7

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

We searched for a few minutes but didn't come up with anything. Will doublecheck my coords and try again. Happy Thanksgiving!

Cigars (Ca.)

By: rscout79 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We decided to walk around the Stanford campus and find some caches. Unfortunately, we went 0 for 3, this being the first one we looked for. After about fifteen minutes of searching, I thought I had found the cache but no cigar, it was just a red herring. I guess we aren't smarter than a fifth grader! We still had a nice time walking around the campus.

MAYA'S TIME

By: Rain734 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

We decided to walk around the Stanford campus and find some caches. Unfortunately, we went 0 for 3, this being the second one we looked for. We must've done our calculations wrong as we ended up in a spot where no cache could be hidden. We still enjoyed our walk.

View From The Office Too

By: Vaudesir Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

We tried for this one today but didn't find anything. I think I confirmed my coords with vaudesir but maybe I didn't. I just checked and I did confirm my coords but for some reason, the coords in my GPSr are the coords without subtracting for the latitude and adding for the longitude.

Just made the correction so we'll be back to search for this one. Doh!

Somewhere Metamorphic

By: catomcat Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We had a couple of minutes left on my lunch break so we decided to stop by since we got a hint from a previous finder. Well, we searched but didn't come up with the cache. I think I need a better hint!

Big Worm-Gear Needed

By: digitalfish Difficulty: 4.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Add another DNF to the other 102 DNFs. I noticed there are more DNFs than finds, a true 4.5. We spent about 35 minutes there poking, prodding, feeling, etc. almost everywhere. We probably even touched the cache but didn't know it. We did run into the cache owner a few minutes later at REI and he gave us a few hints to narrow the spot down. We'll try again soon because we REALLY want to find it!

Tick-Tock Bus Stop

By: runnerinwoods Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

We were going to skip this one today but when we drove past there was no one at the bus stop so we decided to stop and have a try. Twenty minutes later, our hands were filthy and no cache. It was getting darker and we didn't have a flashlight so we had to give up for the night. Will try again soon.

Meneeley Bell Two

By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Add another DNF. We got the final coords, did some searching, then drove back to the bell to double check our numbers. They were correct so we searched some more but still didn't find anything.

Somewhere with No Strings Attached

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We decided to try this one again today as we had DNFed it previously. As we approached the site, we saw someone standing on the bridge. We passed him and said hello. We continued down the street until I looked back and thought I saw something in the man's hand, which I hadn't seen before. Could it be a cacher? I saw him jump over the guardrail so we thought, hmmm, maybe he's searching for the cache. So we walk back and instead of a cacher, he was a fruit picker. There's some sort of cherry-like fruit beyond the guard rail and he was putting them into a plastic bag, the object I must have seen. Anyway, we kept walking and will try again some other time.

The Calzone Cache

By: cowswithguns9119 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

As soon as Jenn checked for the cache, wasps started buzzing. If that's where the cache is, the owner might want to exterminate the wasps before someone gets stung.

Turning Tides

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Either myself and Jenn are the most inept geocachers in the world or the cache is now invisible or the cache is gone because we couldn't find the darn thing.

Hanging On

By: Rocket Girl and DuckeyLee Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Aargh! Another DNF for us. I don't know if it's our previous two DNF's that have us psyched out but we searched all over and still couldn't find the cache. I think the cache owner need to give us a VERY BIG hint.

Ancestoral Home #3

By: ganurse6 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

We parked across the street and made our way through the cemetery. We found a good spot to hide a cache but didn't see anything. Then our GPSr told us to concentrate on another object outside of the cemetery so that's what we did with no luck. I think we should have searched longer in the other spot, it was probably there. If we're passing by, I think we'll make another try.

Pie Faced

By: CCCooperAgency Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We spent a few minutes looking here and there, actually finding a few good spots for a hidden cache, but to no avail. There looks like there was some landscaping done here recently, not sure if this made any difference or not. We did stop in the Village to make our jams and jellies purchases and cool off with a birch beer.

Hanging On

By: Rocket Girl and DuckeyLee Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

We tried this one again with no luck. We'll wait to see if someone finds this before we try again.

Yellowstone Park

By: kablooey Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

We really loathe juniper hides so we probably shouldn't have even tried to find this one. We spent a good fifteen minutes trying to find this one. I just read the previous logs and it looks like we didn't even need to touch the juniper. If that's the case, we might try again one day.

Check 'It' Out!

By: candcfamilY Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The day this one came out, I figured out half of the coordinates and the other half after the cache was moved. We went to look for it today and also think we found a good spot for a film canister but didn't find it.

SiRF-Cache

By: Peter@SiRF Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

We took a few quick looks and smelled something really bad so we decided to stop looking, especially since we saw security walking our way. We know that permission was granted but still felt uncomfortable being there. We'll try again some other time.

Hanging On

By: Rocket Girl and DuckeyLee Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

We first drove past this one at around 2pm, but there seemed to be an amarous couple parked right next to the cache so we did a few more caches, then tried again around 3:30pm. No one was around so we searched for about fifteen minutes with no luck. I'll have to read the previous logs to see if I can pick up a clue. We'll be back!
