Montara MountainBy: Shaun Deane and John Rouleau Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular
Found the cache on Sunday afternoon. Its a wonderful hike with many interesting things to see along the way. Cache was completely filled with water so I substituted a Trader Joe's carmel corn container for the GLADWARE one (which had a cracked lid). Left the log in the cache even though it was soaked. The Altoids were no longer sealed and were either eaten or dissolved I couldn't tell which. Thanks for the cache!
La LunaBy: Latitude11 and Shrubber Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Took advantage of the lack of traffic and stopped by before work. Dropped off the Home Sweet Home travel bug. Took away a couple pens that were out of ink. Its a nice, clean, quiet little park next to the levee of the Guadalupe River in Santa Clara.
Where Fools Rush InBy: Julie Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
This cache had elements that made it interesting and fun: physical: A good lunch time walk problem solving: How do I get over there? suspense: Did the cache survive the rains? education: So thats were the water goes. wildlife: Egrets & hawks hanging around. There was nearly no one around, I saw a jogger pop out from under Calabazas Creek.
The Tupolo TubBy: Roofdog & BlockFam Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Stopped by before work, picked up the Home Sweet Home travel bug, and took the Brain Teasers and left 5 bucks. Thanks for the cache, GPS took me right to it! It was early and there was only a jogger in the park going 'round and 'round.
Coyote Creek PigeonholeBy: kablooey Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro
Wasn't raining today so I went looking.... Couldn't cross the creek because there was too much water so had to drive around, but found it none the less. TNLN. Coords are right on.
Canyon SchoolBy: Stacy & Jerry Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
Found it after a little searching around between rain storms. The site is magical, one of the local residents showed us a secret passageway and warned us to watch out for gnomes. Left the High Flying Bald Eagle Travel Bug, which prefers peaks over canyons, but I just didn't think I'd get to any peaks until after the new year.
Indy's HideoutBy: Geo Indy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Used the spoiler so found it pretty easily. It was lunch time so bikes kept whizzing by but otherwise there was no one about.
Watto's Junk Yard Cache.By: Boba Fett Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Hey Boba! If you take down your cache its your decision but I wish you'd leave it up for a while so I can find it. Consider this, you put up a geocache without a gps and 10 people found it in 3 days, I'd say thats pretty good! One thing you might want to do is edit the coordinates when you are logged in to the ca che page, just hit edit on the upper right hand corner. Only you can do this since its your geocache. I averaged the coordinates given by 4 others and so they are N 37 deg 17.616 min and W 121 deg 54.884 min, so you might want to use those coords. There was some complaining about your coordinates, I estimated that they are off by 25 feet in latitude and 300 feet in longitude. But I'd say thats pretty close considering you didn't have a GPS.
How did you get your coordinates, you said you used AIM, whats that?
Lighthouse CacheBy: tsesso49/califsu48 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other
Found this cache right around sunset after spending the day in Old Sac. Dropped off the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine Travel Bug.
Moonlit ColonadeBy: > Twilightpoint < & NightKnight Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Didn't need a flashlight, just needed to know that one would help. What can I say, its a great hide! Dropped of the Pony Express Squished Penny Travel Bug, which should make its way eastward along the Pony Express route.
Antenna FarmBy: Pedalman Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen
Found it with some friends who had never geocached before, they thought it was fun. Walked in from under the freeway and there it was. This find will become more challenging in a month or so when the grass gets taller. I've driven by the antenna farm oh about a thousand times and always wondered what was down there so now I know.
Magnet MayhemBy: Claire Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen
I didn't think I'd find it, but walked around for a while and there it was. Forgot to brind a magnet so I just wrote in the log book.
SuperGenius #24-NSEWBy: Pepper & Claire Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
My first micro-cache find. Was going to give up but then the last place I looked is where I found it (funny how that always happens). Quarter is still there!
Oaky DoakyBy: Claire & Pepper Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
It was getting toward noon and still hazy. A hawk was circling about and there was a man down in the housing tract cleaning his driveway (I don't think he noticed me).
Coffee TimeBy: Palee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
Found it, and got to meet Palee, he was driving by just as we were returning to our car. Really enjoyed the hike, and the view of Upper San Lorenzo Reservior was great. Saw some hawks and geese flying overhead. Its a nice trail, very well maintained. Found the cache and left it right where I had found it. Took the TB and the binoculars, left a collapsible telescope and a metal carabiner.
Bishop's GambitBy: pr Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen
Parked at the northern entrance and walked up to the cache. It was 9ish in the morning, nice and cool, and absolutely no one around not even the cattle. Cache is in good condition, took a heart locket and left a pill box. On the way back saw a park ranger supervising a group of young people that were cleaning up the park.
Yellow BriefcaseBy: Ron Streeter Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
Yellow briefcase lives! Took an orange poncho and left a metal clip. Tried walking back a different way so as to not scare the cows but it didn't work and a few ran off anyway. Its cool that a picture of the tree is posted on this page because the oak is down now.
