Stopped by downtown for dinner so while we were waiting for a table I slipped out and looked for this one. Thanks!

Donner, Party of Five

By: dgreno Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Virtual

Had to clean snow of the plaque to read it. I found the story of the Donner party both tragic and captivating each time I hear about it. Thanks for bringing me here, I probably wouldn't have stopped by otherwise.

Shady Vista

By: Leeloo & Nasir Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

It was kind of lucky how things worked out. TeamAlamo and I had been hiking for about 4 hours, and so when we reached the cache, TeamAlamo convinced me to make a bee-line for the parking lot once the cache was found, even though no trail was indicated on the map. We had GSP's after all so there was no chance of getting lost. But once we reached the cache it turns out there was already a trail going right down close to the parking lot. On the way down we saw the Almaden Quicksiver Chimney. Thanks for the adventure.

Stuck on the dam

By: Johnnyb5 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

There were warning signs around, but at the same time, there were kids fishing on the dam too. So parked, jumped out and found the cache. Thanks.

The Amazing Race

By: GeoROCKS! Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Reading back through the logs, I noticed that everybody's experience is a little different for this epic cache. Here's my version... In early October 2003 I drove over to Route Marker at lunch break with a couple of co-workers, who being really sharp, did the tile counting in about 5 seconds. But oops, I had to go back to Route Marker again after work because I forgot about the monument. I proceeded to Roadblock and Detour. I couldn't get a good answer for Under or Through at the site, but later on I found what I needed using an internet search. The next day I took the afternoon off work (it was a really nice day) and found Pit Stop, and several other caches too, including one that was practically in somebody's backyard. I think I hiked about 5 miles that day total. A couple days later, I did Route Marker, and tried Detour Low, which as expected didn't yield meaningfull coordinates. I found several other caches that day, total miles hiked maybe two. At this point the cache description was put back on my stack of undone caches, and I didn't look at it again until later in the year.. After Christmas, I had a chance to go caching with TeamAlamo, so we proceeded to Detour High, and when you cache with somebody with 2800+ finds, well, things go very quickly and the final cache location was found in short order. Several other caches were found in the vicinity, total miles hiked, about ten. Thanks for the cache, I was continually impressed with the creativity and attention to detail, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Say Hello To The Pigs

By: spyder woman Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

For being close to an urban area, this park has a lot of ruins to explore, most of which are not fenced off. Thanks for the interesting cache.

Up There Somewhere

By: Ruprex and his girl Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I knew the cache had to be on the trail, but just couldn't resist the urge to make a bee-line straight for it. So TeamAlamo and I turned a terrain 2.5 into a terrain 4 or something like that. I laughed when I realized it really was on the trail. Thanks.

SILVER CACHE

By: Joe Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

It really is worth it to come here if just for the view alone. Thanks.

Micro Cache

By: GeoROCKS! Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Several passers by were out walking their dogs, which reminded of the hint, which we used to find the cache. Thanks.

Camo Micro

By: Team Weirdwonz Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I thought for sure the ranger would come over and talk to us, be he was intent on other things and drove off. Thanks!

Pfeiffer Stone House

By: Mohetka Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Tater Tot

By: spyder woman Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

Not only was the puzzle difficult, but also driving to the location was kind of maze-like. Thanks for the challenge.

Ava's Birthday

By: spyder woman Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Thanks goodness TeamAlamo was able to reach someone on the mobile phone. Using the old coordinates, at night, I was trying to work through the brush to the zero point, and getting soaked in the process. I was making so much noise I figured the neighbors would call the authorities so I finally gave up. I went back to the car to warm up were I found that TeamAlamo had new improved coordinates which led right to the cache. Thanks for the adventure.

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not

By: HitsMan and Boulter Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

It was late and getting cold so I was relieved when TeamAlamo said 'I found it!' Thanks for the cache.

Secret Walkway #2 - Gato de Callej ón

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Had an idea of what to look for based on the cache report. What we found was nothing like that of course, and had a good laugh as a result. Thanks.

Blend-in-tree

By: Tonton-Ca Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Large

It was still a little cold at 10am Saturday so there were no geomuggles about. Thanks for the cache.

Secret Trailhead #14 - Sierra Azul

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I actually did give up at one point but TeamAlamo wouldn't. I guess thats the advantage of not caching alone. Thanks.

Woods Cache

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Cache report, we don't need no cache report! Was driving by and two caches popped up on the GPS, so of course we had to find them. Was caching with TeamAlamo, we had no idea if these were multi's, unknowns or traditional caches, but luckily they were traditional caches and quite findable as well. Thanks.

Black Gold?

By: Log Dog Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Its a fun little diversion cache. Who would have known that was there. Thanks!

Missing Limb

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

TeamAlamo twisted my arm into doing this cache, I had wanted to go straight up to the hill to find some other caches. Marky & Joani, how to find this kind of stuff? Thanks for the informative and entertaining cache.

Fake Monkey Writing

By: kablooey Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Was caching with TeamAlamo, this cache nearly made monkeys out of us, but after much head scratching, some re-figuring of the coordinates, and a little driving around, the cache was found. Thanks!

See Sign?

By: Sgt Stitches Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I was the 'jumper', that is, I jumped out a got the cache. Thanks.

CalSkate Cache

By: Team ATV Caching Crew Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Glad we found it, I'd like to come back some time when its open to watch the skating. Thanks.

My Meridian

By: Wintertime Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I was caching with TeamAlamo, and I do have a Magellan Meridian, which was showing 30 feet where TeamAlamo's was Garmin Gecko was essentially zeroed out, right at the cache. So its true my Meridian couldn't accurately find the cache longitute or latitude for that matter. Anyhow, thanks for the cache.

Hope it re-opens soon. Thanks for the virtual cache.

MadCanyon

By: Johnny Vegas Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Micro

Getting to it was more difficult than finding it. What an unusual street, I don't think I'll ever parallel park between redwoods again.

Firestone

By: Scott Hinds Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

Its an oldie but a goodie. Found it with TeamAlamo. Thanks.

Fox Box

By: Hasbro Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Other

Found it with my caching parter TeamAlamo. I felt like I had been doing nothing but eating the last 2 days so it was great to get out and do some hiking for a change. Really great views, thanks.

starry starry night

By: kf6vsg Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

It took two tries but it was finally found. Nice area.

toll booth

By: kf6vsg Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

It was getting dark, and the cover it provided was helping me get over the feeling of trespassing. Was still searching around when TeamAlamo found it using the hints, and I might add without a flashlight. Impressive.

Tunnel Tao, Too!

By: LooneyTunes Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Was caching with TeamAlamo, the approach to #1 was more wet and muddy than I like it and we had to DNF, but #2 was found in short order. Thanks!

Santos

By: JohnnyVegas Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Working Downtown

By: iwcotton Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

Never noticed this sculpture before, although I'm sure I've passed by it many times. It had been a little cold the night before so some of the locals were getting some shut-eye in the warm sun at the base of the sculpture.

Sister Mary Frankenlurch's SF History 101 Lesson 3

By: Frankenlurch Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Thanks for the early-morning history lesson. I overshot the final location and ended up j-walking to back to it, when it really startled me also. Lots o' fun.
