Weeping Willow Walk

By: CompuCash Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I parked just outside the main park entrance gates and took the stairs down to a trail going around the south side of the reservoir, that seemed to be the easiest direct route to the cache and I didn't have to pay for parking. Found the cache at about 10am, didn't see anyone on the trail except a few hikers out for a stroll. I didn't have any flower item items to trade, so I left a T/B and packed out a little garbage. Thanks for the cache.

My last find on the way to work. Walked up the hill and found the cache. Thanks.

The Snag!

By: CompuCash Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

I wasn't sure how to approach this one, I tried the high road first, but abandoned it and went for the low road, which worked out well. I had a hiking pole and used it several times. There are some interesting plants coming up around the cache, not sure what they are, but they have green and red berries at this point. Nice cache placement, I tried to hide it a just a bit better, which didn't deter TeamAlamo and 4wheeler who must have stopped by afterwards. Thanks for the cache.

Water Park (not) Stairway to nowhere

By: TammieTheDog Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I don't think anyone who lives up there will need a stairmaster. Log is wet but I was still able to sign it. Thanks for the cache.

Landings and Lights

By: Team feline Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

A truck was parked right near the cache, I went and got lunch. When I came back the truck was gone, I searched for and found the cache. TNLN, signed log. I was listening to the tower on the FM radio, a pilot was very concerned about traffic, the tower said 'We advise you to turn left or right, Sir, we cannot fly the plane for you.' Thanks for the cache.

CITO cache - Milpitas

By: Fremont Area Meet & Eat Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Found it quickly. Signed the log and got out of there. There was a couple dogs on the other side that didn't like me being there. Thanks for the cache.

Hiding at Hidden Lake

By: TeamSpaz Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Joe, when you started putting your micros out there, I found some of them, and the ones I couldn't find were a great source of frustration, I just had to throw up my hands and walk away, and resist the urge to chuck the GPS into the nearest garbage can. But little by little I'm learning your tricks (now who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?), the problem is you keep coming up with new ways of hiding them. So I think it's appropriate that my find #1000 is one of your micro's, glad I could locate this one. Thanks for the cache and keep hiding 'em.

Cull Canyon (Revived)

By: archaeor Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I struggled with this one, found it on the 3rd try and needed a hint from archaeor. Nicely hidden! Thanks for the cache.

Open Spaces

By: CompuCash Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

This canyon has always confused my GPS, I'm not surprised that that the coordinates are inconsistent. There are, however, other ways to find a cache. TNLNSL. Thanks!

Tot Lot

By: UPSgirl, adopted by SubRosa Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Tot lot opens at 6am, I was there at 6:45am. No one around at all, I guess all the tots were still sleeping. Quick find. Thanks.

Disc Golf Round-Up Geocache

By: antimony13 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

I heard there was a course here so I brought a disc with me, and sure enough I found it, how exciting! It's located in Knowland Park, behind the Oakland Zoo in California. There is also supposed to be a pet cemetery back there too but I couldn't locate that (it's a big park, a couple square miles at least). The city of Oakland contracts with a goat herder, who uses goats to chew up all the grass during the summer, which keeps the course nice and clear.

Zoo Overlook

By: Muggle Finder Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Electric fence is down and the goats have nicley trimmed the grass. Found the cache, took nothing, left the Beetle T/B, and signed the log. Thanks!

Across the Creek & Thru the Woods

By: CompuCash Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I struggled with this one a little at first, then I put my GPS away and followed the geo-tracks, found it right away. My Meridian GPS had issues with the tree cover. Left the Buck T/B. Thanks for the cache.

By: CompuCash Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Thanks for showing me where the trailhead is, have wanted to bike down this trail, and now I know where to begin.

CandleScents

By: CompuCash Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I parked at a playground, and a trail dropped down past a high-tension wire tower and then up towards the cache. Definitely the best smelling cache I have encountered. TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache.

Cars? In Trees?

By: UPSgirl (maintained by WalruZ) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Like Kusa I also used the Zeille creek trailhead. Made for a nice easy hike. From the looks of the area, the cache must be placed below 'Dead Man's Curve'. Thanks for the cache.

Natural Arches All Around

By: georgeandmary Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Not chosen

I spotted this arch while hiking in Waimea Canyon, Kauai (nicknamed the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" by Mark Twain). This is as close as I could get, and that was after using a 4x4 and hiking as well. Kauai has striking landscapes like Waimea Canyon and the Napali Coast (also worth a visit), because of the large amount of rainfall (Mt Waialeale is the wettest area on the earth) creating interesting geological features like this.

Cached-out Waimea Canyon today, this was the first of 4. Oh, and the view was great too. Thanks for the cache.

"Why Me?" - A Canyon Trail Cache

By: Kenneth Laws Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Not chosen

Drove down to the Canyon Trail trailhead and walked the rest of the way (it was a nice morning workout). Cache was large and kind of empty, so I took nothing an left a California geocoin (to keep the Alabama geocoin company). Thanks for the cache. This is the oldest active cache on Kauai, about 3 and 1/2 years old.

Valley of the Dinosaurs

By: kauaiheart Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

This is one of my favorite caches in Kauai, the scenery alone is well worth the trip. Parked at the museum, and I was told it hadn't rained for a few days, so the trail was nice and dry. This trail could be a challenge when wet and I could see boot marks where people had slid down. Thanks for the cache.

Alakai Views

N 22 ° 07.770 W 159° 37.700
Well every geocache needs a finder, glad I could help with this one. I had contacted one of the cache owners by email before coming to Kauai, yes the cache was there and yes it was at the picnic area, so I ventured forth. Drove to within 4 tenths of a mile of the cache and walked the rest of the way (it was a nice day for walking). Searched around for about 20 minutes without finding the cache, I was a little scratched-up from the berry vines, so I sat down on a convenient resting spot and tried to figure out what was going wrong. Looked at the hint and the spoiler picture again, and then I thought I knew where the cache had to be. Searched around for a while longer, and, well, there are ways of finding a cache other than seeing it, and there it was! Cache had a little water in it so I dried it out and signed the log (mua loa a hiki i loa'a!). I took a boo k 'Let's Learn a Little Hawaiian' and left 5 quartz crystals. I also put the cache in a 1 gallon zip lock bag I had, to help it stay dry inside. A hunter arrived so I watched his dogs run around for a while, when he left I hid the cache just as I had found it. Mahalo & Aloha.

Polihale

By: Tom & Sue Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

The hotel staff had coached me on this cache, 'Drive quickly to Polihale, don't slow down or you will feel all the bumps'. I took their advice and drove as fast as I safely could. Found the cache quickly, good thing too as 2 trucks had arrived with dirtbikes and fishin' poles, and parked close to the site. TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache.

Palama Beach Cache

By: The Sofa King Lost Team Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Followed the cache instructions exactly, it was a nice quiet hike to the cache. Didn't see anyone, but it was early Sunday morning, not a lot of people out at that time. I got a little off trial, and lost my sunglasses in the tall grass. Got back on trail and found the cache. Thanks for the adventure.

Welcome to Jurassic Park Cache

By: Team Aloha Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

Thanks for the cache, honestly, I wouldn't have come up this road if it not for this cache. I had rented Chevy Trailblazer which made it easily up the road, was surprised at the end to see a couple sedans had made it thru the mud too. The little trail going to the cache was slippery, glad I wore my boots. Mahalo.

The Way to Waialeale Cache

By: Team Aloha Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

Thanks for the cache, this is the closest I came to Waialeale on this trip, and it is indeed very rainy here. The helicopters kept coming, there must be an air traffic controller out there someplace to direct them. Had the Monkey Business T/B with me, this was the perfect place to leave it. Mahalo.

Silent Watchers of the Wailua River

By: FrogHoppers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Fee, Fi, Fo, Snore

By: Jukin Jay and Wild Winnie Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

This was a strenuous hike as noted, the trail rose steeply right up to the top. Enjoyed the climing at the end. Great views all around, nice place to hide a cache! Took the bubbles and left Joakim the T/B. Thanks for the cache.

Swinging Bridge

Powerline North

By: Jukin Jay and Wild Winnie Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Made the hike out to the cache after earlier finding 'On the Way to Hanalei'. Found the cache after a time, and I dried it out and added a new dry log sheet (just a pad of paper from the hotel). I packed out the old log sheet, which had reverted back into paper pulp, as well as some rusty keychains. Also I packed out an old beer can I found as well. I put the cache in a 1 gallon ziplock bag I had, so it should stay dry I hope. Left the Ladybug II travel bug. On the way back I talked to a hunter who was looking for his dog. Thanks for the cache.

Beyond the Land Called Hanalei

By: Cach-U-Nuts Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Woke up kind of early (I was still on mainland time). Decided to start caching at the north part of Kauai, and work my way around clockwise, so this cache seemed like the place to start. Weather had been pretty dry so it was no problem hiking out to the cache. Talked to several backpackers who had hiked the Kalalau trail out to a beach to stay overnight. Signed log and exchange travel bugs. Thanks for the cache.

Plank Roads

By: Hard Oiler Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

I saw this planked bridge while on vacation, visiting the island of Kauai in the state of Hawaii, so I jumped out of my car an took a picture. This planked bridge is part of the Kuhio Highway route 56 where it crosses the Wainiha River.

Kauai's best near Kapa'a

By: Fireman Bret Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Arrived today on this beautiful island, went to Bubba's for a late lunch, and stopped by find this cache on the way to the hotel. It was an easy find in a neat location. TNLNSL, thanks for the cache. Didn't see the travel bugs CAT's Mouse Cacher or Suzie The Sweetheart, they must have wandered off.
