W.A.V.By: Ford's Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Had a very nice drive through several different neighborhoods before getting to this one and taking in a great view. Because the cache was rated 1/1, I wasn't going to cross property lines through barbed wire and bramble to get this one. My caching partner, however, did not hesitate to retrieve through the property line, so TN, placed the Jeep TB #3980, and SL. Neither of us wanted to trespass again, so we rehid it at the approximate location on the legal side of the barbed wire.
AQUAJITO MARBLES and TB HOTELBy: THE THIRYS and 2frenchgirls Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Easy drive by in a less-travelled part of Monterey! Hit this one on the way back up to my work location in San Francisco to drop off a Jeep TB (#3308). Nice hide, but the poison oak has the potential to "grow" into a big problem! I inadvertantly brushed my wrist over a foot-high sprout while replacing the cache, but no issues yet... If your kid has the propensity to run at a cache when they see it, this isn't the one for them -- they'll trample right through the stuff.
Pasadera GreensBy: Ford's Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
[Grabbed this one back down from W.A.V. Found it relatively easily, but the container had broken, was open, and more than an arm's length away from where the original hiding spot seemed to be (if a 1/1). Shimmied down to retrieve it, re-attached the lid, and re-hid in a less precarious position.] Luckily the fiery-red poison oak growing so abundantly down the side of the hill was about 10 feet away from the hiding place! [ Swapped TBs (Ozzy Cat for Uncle Frank's Bug) and signed log. Thanks for the views today Ford's!]
Blue Light SpecialBy: beck1980 Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
I came by around dusk tonight, and I had fun smelling the flowers and taking in the blue hue. Road was busy, but not too many interlopers in the area to worry about seeing me with the cache. Given the warnings from previous logs, cache was a quick find with no destruction involved. TNLNSL, thanks!

[This place is cool -- there is some great history here and an incredible assortment of intricate model boats. Best of all, its absolutely free! Don't forget to look around upstairs... ] The answer to the mural is starfish. [Thanks for bringing me inside of here!]
Es Effo Bug HotelBy: bthomas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
The cat TB was Ozzy Cat and wants to go to Australia. Dropping and retrieving to make sure it gets its miles. Since Australia is not really in my plans, I'll be dropping it off elsewhere soon.
Es Effo Bug HotelBy: bthomas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Thanks for the tips -- makes for a quick and convenient find to drop off TBs. I think I'll do this a little more often. Tonight I dropped off Enzo F60 TB who wants to go to either Mattel in El Segundo (LAX) or Italy, for those lucky enough to be going to Europe for their summer vacation. Took an unidentified cat TB, since all the others aren't going anywhere on my itinerary in the next two weeks (guess I'll find out where the cat's going when I log it). Thanks!
Everyone Knows It's WindyBy: mtn-man Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual
Oh it was windy alright. A very clear, breezy summer evening by the SF Bay after work hours made this cache very special. Not a person to be seen nearby, so I enjoyed the interesting and ever-changing ambiance solo. I would never have ventured this far onto the Genentech campus without this cache! Thanks so much, email has been sent.
Oyster PointBy: mjp303 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Came by tonight after work, gotta love summer when its light until 9! Coords were right on, and I breathed a sigh of relief what I saw it where it seemed appropriate. I felt very watched but tried to be stealthy; people seem to pay more attention to a female milling about without a dog or kid in these sorts of areas... Thanks for a nice day by the bay!
Sister Mary Frankenlurch's SF History 101 Lesson 2By: Frankenlurch Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
[Got some help after school from Sister Mary for the final step of this cache and found pretty easy at the verified location. ] I think I stepped on it last night, in fact. [I made sure that I had the proper phys ed uniform on today for this lesson. Cache is in great shape, I only had to fight off a few mosquitos for the evening adventure! ]
Take-a-PeakBy: Surfcal Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
Was in the area checking on another wayward cache, and stopped by to verify this one due to the DNFs. It is definitely not in the spot that I found it at about 6 months ago.
Inspiration Point PoetryBy: PisoMojado Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual
It was dark and scary When I drove up to the view, I disturbed two cars That left without an adieu. What they'd been doing
Would be difficult to tell
But my cousins in the midwest
Probably think they're going to he**.
My flashlight was out,
but I was prepared;
to look for answers.
Or inspiration, I feared..
I'd spent the evening
Watching playoffs In Marina,
which is not my favorite place
Exc ept when the fireworks win ya.
My team had lost tonight
By at least 6 runs.
And I was crushed to learn
I needed to rhyme these puns.
But it was too late
to work a haiku.
And I just didn't know
Exactly what to do.
With more higher ed
Than most could imagine
I quickly designed
A free-form rantin'. The view was dark,
'cept for the Palace
So I drove outta there
when I found my "chalice".
(my apologies to anyone that bothers to read this)
Sigmund's CacheBy: Toastman Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Came by with lunch today, with the sprinklers going full bore. Not too many doggies and owners for that reason, I suppose. Found cache where I had previously zeroed out and did not check. That'll teach me to give in to frustration. TFTC.
Sister Mary Frankenlurch's SF History 101 Lesson 2By: Frankenlurch Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
I was working at the lab today, which is close to Golden Gate park, so I tried this one after leaving. It was a great walk on a very comfortable evening -- but at the final leg I had about ~75 EPE, I was in my "big girl" clothes from work, and there was lots of ivy within the 75' radius. I guess I'll have to come back prepared to get down and dirty!

Came by here towards the end of the day, and enjoyed speaking with the neighbor about the nearby flowers and weeding in general. The intensity of horticulture around here is almost overwhelming, but makes for an enjoyable visit when the flowers are in bloom. Took key release and Enzo TB, Left batteries.
Turtle HillBy: Dr. Zaius Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
That'll teach me to procrastinate... I had very similar coords for a placement I was going to do today, but lo and behold Dr. Zaius beat me to it! Good thing, too, since I think this is a better hide than what I might have done. Grey windy days make for great hunting on hills in San Francisco, and this morning was no exception -- I had no company to worry about up here. Took Guinness playing cards, left token for free mocha in Marin county and a package of batteries.

Get wiredBy: JohnnyVegas Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
First to sign the new log today, ~8pm, hunting Frankenlurch's 4th History lesson after work with whatever daylight I could grab. Thanks for replacing it -- I wasn't expecting to find it and left the waterfront area happy!
Sister Mary Frankenlurch's SF History 101 Lesson 4By: Frankenlurch Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Today I arranged my schedule for a makeup exam, and gave myself an extra 45 minutes to finish. What a difference daylight makes! I passed quickly, and felt good that a flashlight would have been a better "pencil" to bring to the exam a couple of evenings ago! I brought my "lucky charm" TB along with me, but didn't leave him... Thanks so much for offering another History course!
Sister Mary Frankenlurch's SF History 101 Lesson 4By: Frankenlurch Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
So, I've been working a lot lately and have ended up missing doing evening caching as a de-stress. At least 3 weeks ago I set out to do this one, and ended up solving the steps backwards as well as getting sidetracked by Get Wired, so I figured I'd come back later for the prize. Days turned into weeks, and finally I left work at what I thought was an hour that had reasonable amounts of daylight left. Hopped on MUNI bus #10 and headed 'round the piers to take the final for Sister Mary's fourth course (never mind that I haven't passed #2 yet).
The SF bus system is REALL Y slow. I was obviously going to be late for the exam.
When I got to the site, everything was a little greyer than I'd like for a search, and the area I narrowed onto was a lot darker than most. Not having a flashlight with me (I typically don't carry one to work), and looking for something prett y small, I decided to come back and deal with the increased stealth factor during the day.
I guess I'd better go to detention!

Wow -- what a different daylight makes, and not having to dodge janitors... A Sunday with no one around to worry about. Took the Where's George and left a Susan B. Anthony. Waypointing Ruffian TB here, since I've put plenty of miles on the bug but seem to only be finding micros recently.

Trade?!? You're kidding, right? Found with clue on a deserted Sunday evening, after surveying the area and figuring the number of mini-micro hiding places in the general area. I had nothing THAT small to trade... Thanks for the hunt.

Easy one for me, since finding GMPRT here a few months ago. Things were quiet here on a Sunday, and only one shoe was untied. TFTC!
Purple GeminiBy: Doug Jennifer Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Couldn't find this one today, but I sure gave it a good try... There weren't many people out here today, except a neighbor watering his yard, so I had reasonable time to freely search. For the most part, the satellites were cooperating, but pointing me out of the park. Not wanting to venture near the neighbor, I searched all around the foliage at the park border where the arrow went. I'll come back again next time I'm down this way and perhaps I'll have other options.
Dont Get Caught!By: ~Ninja~ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
I was at a training session all day less than a half mile from here, so I thought I'd catch a few urban caches -- South Bay Style -- while I was here. Amazingly, there were plenty of people at the park playing and having picnics at 5pm on a Friday evening, but I planted myself and my Coldstone treat closeby and no one noticed what I was doing. Cache is getting a little too rusty to stay together. Thanks for getting me deeper into this park than I've ever been!
Pirate's BootyBy: Beckbeard Andsmee Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Was here at about 6:30pm, so not too many people around, and none in the general cache area. This place is SO well manicured, after wandering around and looking in kid-style hiding places I was about to give up thinking some dastardly gardener HAD to have gotten to it. Luckily my phone rings -- boss wants to rehash the day -- so I pause, sit down, and enjoy the sunny g rassy knoll for the conversation. When I get back to the hunt, I can see it right away! Amazing! I'd thank my boss for the reboot, only he'd think I was "off" for spending my free time searching for old tupperware. TNLNSL, Thanks.

Get wiredBy: JohnnyVegas Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Solved the first part easily on May 29th, and had some extra time before needing to be somewhere (the standard geocacher's excuse), so I halfheartedly went after part two then. Couldn't get a lock to save my life and didn't want to read the hint, so I left it for another day. Tonight was that other day. Got some sat help, but eventually read hint. I seemed to be in the right area, timed my searching in between pedestrian and nearby vehicle traffic, but didn't come up with it.

I also came by when the area was fenced off for the protests, but must have caught the security personnel in an unfathomable state of boredom -- they let me in when I said I was looking for a couple of dedication plaques in the plaza. Got to talking with them about just about everything under the sun; who would've thought -- friendly security! They are actually protecting the title item of the cache -- its apparently a very important historical piece to the founders of a company that adjoins the plaza (museum open from 10-2, FYI). The email is on its way...
Play Ball!By: SUPERflamingo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Neat neighborhood in Pacifica, and even neater hidden park that I was able to visit near dusk on a Monday. I strolled around for a bit to see if the teenagers were truly only paying attention to each other, then looked around a little harder. That's all it took... Had some trouble getting a seal on the container, so took the paint and signed log.

Wow, I spent a long time on this one, and really covered a lot of ground -- mostly because the GPSr was bouncing around and finally zeroed out at a few different spots 250 feet apart that each fit the hint. I finally gave up and started driving out, when the GPSr zeroed out at an entirely different area! I had it by then, so I'm going to have to come back to look in the new spot...

Found this one easily after following the geo-trail and fending off some mutant thistle growing in the area! Unlike most of the other caches I've attempted on my weekend in Iowa, this one didn't involve mud and washed out trails. T: Kermit pez dispenser and a Ft. Dodge keychain, L: Worm pez dispenser and a San Francisco keychain. Dropped off the Giants Journeyman TB after caching an ICubs game, and waypointing the Ruffian TB (won't leave him because he's not in a ziploc and could get damaged).
Tree Climber CacheBy: spinwebby with newbie trekkers adopted by boa Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Found this cache after a slow but short bushwhacking trek aside some very swampy ground. Luckily, I had worn a pair of old tennis shoes, because there was also a lot of mud at the "entrance" to the off-trail journey. Unluckily, I was wearing shorts, since the terrain/difficulty rating was pretty low. I did this one alone and left my less sure-footed (and shorts-wearing) companions at the path, which was probably the best decision (hmmm, terrain 1.5 didn't quite hold up after these rains). The swamp didn't get me at the cache, but the mosquitos sure did! Took nothing, left the Duncan Warrior TB!
