Salty CacheBy: MaxEntropy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Nice salt piles. It was deserted this Memorial Day, except for a bored security person sitting across the parking lot from the cache area. I wandered around a bit trying not to look too suspicious, then noticed something just a little off. Swapped a keychain for a plastic stencil-ruler, and took the TB so it didn't get lonely. TFTC.

Awfully quiet around here on the Memorial Day holiday... That's one dangerous piece of vegetation -- ouch! TNLNSL, TFTC.
Watch 'em FlyBy: Fremont Claassens Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Nothing really flying around here today, just the freight train crawling along in one direction, then stopping entirely, and going back the way it came. Couldn't quite figure that one out... Anyhow, got to the site and spent a little time surveying the situation; saw all the ivy and animal holes hidden in it, so went straight for the hint. TFTC.
Mission District Micro #2By: CALHUNTER Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Given the GPSr bounce due to the powerlines, and the really nasty thicket of places to hide a (micro) cache, I was grateful for WalruZ to tell me I didn't have to search in there. Without that advice, there was no way this was a difficulty 1.5...
Mission District Micro #1By: CALHUNTER Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Felt a little conspicuous, but who knows if anyone in the nearby house was taking any notice of my interest in their fenceline... Found in a nice logical spot. TFTC.
IT AIN'T MAILBy: CALHUNTER Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Coords were bouncing around under the trees, and with the vast expanse of bushes to crawl under, I ended up going for the hint after about 15 minutes, which if this is a difficulty 1.5 hide, might as well be part of the cache description IMNSHO. After that, it still took a fair amount of time to find using a methodical search technique. TNLNSL, thanks.
Saint Joseph's 36th Birthday CakeBy: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Neat place for a cache! I felt a little guilty doing this one now, since I haven't *quite* finished all of the birthday caches up (although now some I need to do are already disabled...). I wanted to hunt something a little nicer than a cammo-taped peanut butter jar thrown in some vast expanse of bushes to end the day on #999, and I'm really glad I pulled in to do this multi! Traded toys, TFTC.
Happy Birthday JoeSpaz #23By: joespaz Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Ahhh, but what would a morning of caching in Fremont be if I didn't include at least one joespaz cache?!?!?!? TFTC.
The MSJ CodeBy: archaeor Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Nice little area and a neat place for the cache, I would have not noticed the detail on the nearby object otherwise. Thanks.
Secret Treehouse #2By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Found this cache faster than I probably should have, which isn't to say that I spotted it right away... [;)]. Sadly, there was a little water inside, and the log was ripping as I tried to sign it, so I did a little rehab back at the Jeep. I dried out the cache and added a new, double-baggied log. Hopefully that will hold it for a while. If you save that sort of thing, I've got the old log -- give me an email.
YOU ?VE GOT MAILBy: CALHUNTER Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
I'm starting to believe WalruZ when he insists that the WalMart cammo-green cammo tape really does makes caches invisible. At least hunting for this one smelled much better than an ivy hide, although after my second or third pass at those bushes, I was starting to wonder at my searching abilities... Thanks for the smiley!
Overlooking Fire station No. 4By: Neslake Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
They have appeared to have trimmed the area up a bit, and we found the cache sorta exposed. Left it with a little more of the natural cover to help it stay safe. TFTC.
Assume Nothing #2By: workerofwood Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Somehow I was having trouble reconciling the whole "spice jar" thing with what I was looking at when I got to the cache site. With a bit of patience I wandered around and figured it all out. I could hear WalruZ clapping in the car as I made the find. I don't know if that was in admiration or in mockery. I don't think I wanna know... TFTC!
Happy Birthday JoeSpaz #11By: joespaz Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Happy Birthday JoeSpaz #9By: joespaz Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
As I was about to give up, I searched one last spot where WalruZ informed me "Joe doesn't hide things in litter". Lo and behold, not 5 seconds later I found the cache sitting in litter. I'd suggest a move to the newly-vacated park as well.
Ingvar Kamprad's Pride & JoyBy: Beckerbuns, Nurse Dave & Boyz Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
WalruZ, LeChuck, and I were visiting IKEA to check out what may become our future dining table. I, too, looked in the most obvious spot for the cache. When I didn't find it, I called WalruZ over to double check what I was doing. When he verified that the cache was indeed missing, I rummaged around in the back of the Jeep and found a small-to-micro sized cache all set to go. Hope that's okay with the owners...
Whimsical WondersBy: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Enjoyed my whimsy today, although I was getting a little cold trying to get rabbit ears just right before inking them down... WalruZ and Lechuck got jealous at all the fun I was having, and after I finished my Wally-bit, decided to color in their log contribution from some time ago. TFTC!
Ethel the EarwigBy: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
WalruZ decided that I needed a little whimsy today, so he directed me on over to this set of caches. Ethel was the first to be found... TFTC!
Buelah the ButterFlyBy: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Beulah was a little difficult, because she kept spinning my GPSr arrow around so that I wasn't sure where I should be walking. I eventually found her though, in a nice logical hiding spot. Thanks.
Benny the BedBugBy: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Benny was safe and sound, enjoying the smell of the mowed weeds nearby. TFTC.
A Walk in the ParkBy: beachbum67 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
FTF! I feel like I must be the only cacher left in SF sometimes... Anyhow, I had thoughts of running out after work yesterday to find this cache, but I get wary of GG Park (and its residents) in the dusk. It looked like I had some flexible time before going to work this morning, so I thought I'd swing by and see this cache first. Had a little trouble with sat bounce, but eventually found it. Thanks for another GG Park hide!
Dorothy W. ErskineBy: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
A not-so-quick find on my way home from work this evening, but generally a nice park and a nice area of SF. Perhaps because the footwear I had chosen was just not up to par for the approach I took to the cache, nor were they sturdy enough for hunting around the area the coords took me to, I had some trouble getting around and was sure I was going to pull another quad muscle or something. Then when I returned to my car, I found that my shoes had suffered most greatly: Ms. Erskine would not be pleased with the environmental conscience of the dog owners that use this park, and neither was I... Left a TB. TFTC, anyway.
Houseboat HangoutBy: WalruZ & Buckydef Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Helped WalruZ with placement, mostly by just showing him the park after dinner at the Roadhouse nearby. Tonight I came by after work to 1) check on the "dubious" nature of the cache site (or finding the cache) reported by the first two logs, and 2) add a pencil and ziploc to the cache. Was pleasantly surprised to meet two new geocachers on the hunt, although I was unable to stay and see them find the cache.
Bayside RC Rocks!By: squints Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
I thought I knew what I'd be looking for, but it was just a little different than I was expecting. Not many R/C people out here today, which I thought was odd on a Saturday. Thanks for the cache!
Happy Birthday JoeSpaz #35By: joespaz Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Happy Birthday JoeSpaz #34By: joespaz Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Little trouble with sats in the area today, but eventually came up with it after seeing WalruZ (who was supposed to be driving only) looking around. TFTC.
Leftover Birthday Cake #2By: joespaz Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Used the hint because the GPSr was leading me into traffic. I thought the hint was a little off mark, but I got the general idea. Thanks.

Athin's VengeanceBy: kusanagi Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Thanks Kusa! Was back in the area today, this time to price out carpeting/installation and pick up some painter's tape at the superstore next door, so I took a quick detour to finish the cache off. It was all I could do to keep myself from going inside the store nearest the cache, although I doubt I'm going to be able to go camping/backpacking for a very long time... Thanks for a nice puzzle.

No time for any slams today, I was on a mission... Thanks for the cache!
Mission M & M cacheBy: Marky Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Whew, managed to avoid the convent this time and grab the cache -- although it wasn't so much a grab as trying out nearby natural items as "tools" since the cache was largely unreachable. I remedied that when I returned it to its spot. TFTC.

BART ViewBy: Lil Devil Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
Looked around for a little bit in the area, but it just got too dark to keep searching without proper equipment. That, and a lighted vehicle was driving our way on the trail... I'll be back.
Los Pechos de la ChocaBy: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
7:10pm. Hmmm, sorta had a deja vu on this one. Its such a nice area (on a clear day) that it deserves a cache, though. Thanks for the FTF!

The Sand PitBy: beachbum67 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
This place was fairly busy at dinnertime, but I waited out a group to leave and then made my grab. Thanks for a nice cache so close to home! Left a TB and swapped some postcards for the GC calendar.
Doc's Geo Cache VBy: The Doc Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular
Wow! What a hike! In my younger days (like, 6 months ago) this would not have been a problem but today it was a definite challenge. It was also much instruction in how-not-to-mislead-yourself-into-thinking-theres-only-.xx miles-to-the-cache-because-your-gpsr-says-so. Nevertheless, WalruZ and I persisted up the next ridge just for this cache and found it in great shape. Thanks for the nice little walk in Coe (heh).
Athin's VengeanceBy: kusanagi Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
I solved this one nearly a year ago, then promptly lost the coordinates when I changed GPS software. Since I've been spending more time in Fremont lately, a month or two ago I resolved it and figured I'd be around there soon enough (there being the establishment where the cache was hidden). Then the archive note. Oh well. So, today we were on our way to go camping in Henry Coe, and I realized that REI was on the way and I could use some extra canisters of fuel for the stove. I checked around on the offchance that there was still a log for me to sign, but no dice... WalruZ will just have to wait a little longer for me to get to 999.
A Pacific island - in Fremont?By: Neslake Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
On the way out of town for a weekend of camping and, gee, this one was at the same 880 exit as REI so I took a little detour. Thanks for the cache!
HeadquartersBy: Team Nazgul Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Thanks for the convenient waypoint this weekend! We were at Coe for a few days of car camping, and even after finding the cache itself, aiming for HQ after a day of hiking was a real bonus.

Had a pleasant time with WalruZ, LeChuck, and bthomas getting to this cache, and playing around at this place with (what I think is) an unique location. They even have big kid swings! Took a mini-koosh ball and left a WSR photocard (which WalruZ then nabbed). TFTC.

BADGES Picnic #2By: BADGES Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen
Had a great time today -- what a nice park, even with all the geese! Great job putting together a variety of games to appeal to young and old, and some interesting caches to hunt. I always like the smaller BADGES events, it seems so much easier to get around and socialize...
BADGES Picnic #2: This park rules!By: BADGES Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Newarks of the WorldBy: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Did the first step a couple of weeks ago, then somehow was never around the area of the final to make the grab. Today I had only a memory of where stage two had fallen on the map, and with a small hint about the area and reading past logs I was able to stumble across it. Left my pen there, since there wasn't one, and cleaned out the dessicated seeds that had fallen out of their package. TFTC!
Quack Quack Honk!By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
I, too, stumbled at stage 2. First, because I was reading the description a bit too literally for hints on how it would be hidden, then second because some people decided to plant themselves very nearby and outlasted my patience.
Ardenwood: Spirits of the ForestBy: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
We've had a good rain season, so the off-path plant life is just booming out here! Someone, however, has put a huge blue dumpster to spoil the view at the cache site. The nerve! Anyhow, after bushwhacking through the foliage, the cache was an easy find. And we were easy finds for the mosquitos enjoying the tall weeds too! TFTC!
Ardenwood: Baba Yaga is Waiting for YouBy: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
As we ventured into this area for the caches, I unexplainedly started to feel like I was tresspassing -- while I knew that I was still in the park, this area has a "undeveloped" feel about it that sort of slips you back in time and makes you feel like you aren't in the park any longer...
Ardenwood: Rows of NutsBy: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Sadly we couldn't get this one, even with the hint. The area has been recently mowed, although our search target would not be affected by that, necessarily... I had to make an edumacated guess on the scrabble tile for this one, in order to nab the puzzle. Good thing I had WalruZ with me to give me a little hint!
Ardenwood: Lost in TimeBy: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Came to Ardenwood with WalruZ on this very pleasant Sunday afternoon. I hadn't ever been here before, so we enjoyed the stroll around the area. This one was a quick find, without hints or anything! TFTC.
Ardenwood ScrabbleBy: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
I haven't been able to get out and about as much as I should lately, and I feel sorely out of shape, so I really appreciate these walks that take me around just a little further than I've been going. I might even be able to add a little elevation in sometime soon! Thanks for the series!
Ardenwood: On the MoveBy: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Not many people in this part of the park... Do they ever open this stand anymore? My first stop in Ardenwood, although I ended up forgetting to get the important info, so had to come back after I arrived at the main parking lot and WalruZ asked if I had gotten the "tile". At least we weren't already inside...
Ardenwood: MoooSicBy: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Bit of a challenge, with all the personnel around being all western and such... The hint was invaluable for not looking suspicious and potentially getting thrown outta there! Thanks.
