Do You See What I Saw?

By: E-T Explorers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

While on the path, my GPSr was pointing right to where stage one ended up being, although it took a thorough and detailed search of what I believed to be the most likely target of my arrow to spot the hide. Ahhh, patience rewarded... Great cammo! As WalruZ and I walked up to stage 2, we split up into two target areas, and somehow I ended up with the cache in hand. TFTC!

FREE PARKING

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Classy. Nice urban micro hide. I've seen caches at places like this before, but this was a first-rate cache hide. Thanks.

Down, Down, Down!

By: hummingbird jr. Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Even without a visible kid around, pregnant women seem to be accepted doing just about anything in a place like this, particularly with their husbands around to help them up, so this might have been the most enjoyable playground hide I've done so far!

Almost Eden

By: mjp303 (adopted by niraD) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I really enjoyed this stop on a lazy afternoon of grabbing caches and running errands in Palo Alto. TFTC!

Parking Citation

By: anotherone Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Quick find on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I used to visit the nearby park as a toddler. Mitchell Park was one of my first phrases spoken, apparently. As others have noted, log is sopping. TFTC

Free WiFi #4

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for downtown Palo Alto. This was the first cache of a day of wandering the area. Thanks!

The Lord of the Ring

By: Linc-Clan (adopted by ed777) Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Bucky likes it! TFTC.

ENERGY ALTERNATIVES

By: Rain734 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

WalruZ brought me to the cache stages today to do some counting and check his math. Together, we seem to make a pretty good team! Thanks for the hide, and we enjoyed the nearby demonstration of energy alternatives.

A Tour of Morgan Hill

By: EHYAMO Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Thanks for the tour -- I was REALLY glad that I noticed that waypoints 3 and 5 were where they were before we left waypoint 2. We actually started from my brother's house, quite near to waypoint 3 (which is also used for another multi we had recently done), so we had already backtracked a bit at this point and were debating on whether we were going to finish this in a reasonable amount of time. We arrived at dusk to the final location, and were hoping not to get locked in, but it appears that the rangers have a more lenient policy down this way. Neat final location, thanks.

Tie A Yellow Ribbon

By: RV Paces Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Decided to "clean out" some caches in the area around my brother's house after attending a party, and this was my favorite of the day. I like the concept, and found the cache quickly. Thanks!

Mystic Mushroom

By: Travieso Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Nope, not I either.

Paradise Park

By: Nui tutu Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

We weren't sure that we were going to find this one, after having done the calculations. I was sure we had the right coords, but the area looked sort of recently gardened, so I was afraid for the cache. WalruZ was afraid we had coords that were slightly off, so both of us were relieved to find it! TFTC!

Deuce

By: MuirBoys Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Was in town for a family party with WalruZ, and swung by to do this one. I spotted it pretty quickly, in plain sight, and WalruZ said it wasn't what he did last year , so we hid it the way he remembered (which would have been more appropriate for a difficulty of 2.5). TFTC!

Outta Play

By: MuirBoys Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This cache gave me fits. Finally got it, thanks.

Max's Napping Place

By: Cats Out Walking Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

WalruZ and I seemed to look everywhere that Max would nap, but didn't spot the cache. Someone's graduation party was also going on nearby, but they weren't out and about in the general search area. Maybe next time.

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I felt very sheltered while searching for this one. Thanks!

The Cache at the End of the World

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

With WalruZ at placement. Thanks for replacing the virt that had shown people this area.

Don't Feed the Ducks

By: geekster Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The place was deserted after work tonight, so only the ducks (and geese) saw what I was doing. TFTC!

Sanchez Lagoon #2

By: nlrw Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

It was a very nice evening to do this walk. Thanks for the cache!

Bridgepoint Haiku 5-7-5

By: sammer Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

ugh.

Ryder Park Trail

By: bodster Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I usually end up having a lot of trouble with these sorts of structures, but I seemed to be doing fine with this cache today. Nice park! The BBQs going on smelled great. TFTC.

Greenhorn

By: cmkrwalls Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Went on a cache maintenance run after work with WalruZ, but what fun is caching after work if you don't find one? So, being our nearest unfound cache that didn't involve hiking up a mountain, here we were. TFTC.

Jun 20, 2005

C.B. #8

By: bthomas Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Well, at least I waited until we found the cache before going inside. WalruZ didn't even wait for me to get all the way out of the car before he started searching. Got milk?

Jun 18, 2005

Blend-in-tree

By: Tonton-Ca Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Large

WalruZ and I were in the area for a pah-tay, and left in time to hunt a couple caches on the way back home. This was our first stop. TFTC.

"Skid A Ma Rink"

By: Team Weirdwonz Weird-O Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I really enjoyed the area -- never been here before. Thanks for the cache-incentive to stop and visit.

Watershed Down

By: Mohetka Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Best cache of the day award to this one. I wasn't expecting to see such a nice area behind the SCWD offices, nor was I expecting such a nicely done labrynth. The multi just fell right in line with the well-done-ness of the area. WalruZ and I took our time at each stage and had a nice experience. Thanks!

Pfeiffer Stone House

By: Mohetka Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

The nearby plaque was an interesting sidestop. Nice craftmanship on the cache, although the intersection surprised me with how busy it is. How many people live in that 'hood, anyways? Thanks for the hide!

Creekside Trunk Cache

By: Cache Carry (adopted by cer) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I really liked this detour off the path. The tree is pretty cool. Thanks.

WaterRats' Cache

By: WaterRats Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I helped with the first part of the solution, but left WalruZ to calculate the second, so we needed another sit-down on subtraction, I guess. Found after finishing a check of the original work. thanks!

Healing View

By: CoolCache Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I was with the others that searched today. No luck with this one.

Totally Toys

By: Ron Streeter Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Quick find while doing the Nefertiti series. LeChuck just had to have the water pistol, so I traded some stencil-ruler thingys I had with me. TFTC!

Igor

By: Mike Hildum Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Wow, I don't think I was quite as prepared for the bramble as I might have been, but the cache was nice n' big and I got a TB out of the whole deal! I've never reacted to poison oak, but I should be nice and sensitized after this experience!

Tsunami

By: CoolCache Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I bet the muggle factor would have been greatly increased had it been a weekend day! Nice park, TFTC.

The WalruZ and LeChuck

By: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Hmmm, a recommendation for dinner? Solved this one about 6 or 7 months ago after WalruZ brought it to my attention during a casual conversation atop Alum Rock Park, but I've actually never been to the city of Hayward (aside from driving past it on the freeway) until today. Funny how geocaching expands one's stomping grounds, slowly but surely. Thanks.

Tamarack Gate

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I had been back here one other time, but failed to find the cache. Today it was back where the owner intended, and just jumped out at us. Ahhhhh, the start of a full geocaching day -- and a long-overdue use of a day off of work. Thanks.

Oyster Rustler's Point

By: kemosabe Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Had a nice walk around Oyster Point today with Woof!, WalruZ, LeChuck and Alamo. I was lagging behind at this point, so they had the goods found and out by the time I arrived. Thanks for the cache!

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Underworld

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

The second find in series' trip around the lowlands of Garin. The others were chatting merrily as we walked along the trail, which gave me the time to spot the likely hiding place. The men didn't quite clue in as fast, and Woof! and I beelined over to find the cache while they were still saying "are we here?". TFTC.

Flotsum and Jetsum

By: 4wheeler Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

The walk to the cache site just made this one for me. Thanks for bringing us here.

Redwing

By: CoolCache Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Heh, what Woof! said -- we were hanging back a little because I was pretty tired by this point, but that doesn't stop us from making the find... TFTC.

Cool Cache View

By: CoolCache Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Yep, a cool view alright. Thanks for the cache here.

Totally Buggin' (TBs)

By: CoolCache Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Started to follow Woof! and Alamo, then decided that WalruZ mighta found a better way. He had the cache in hand before any of us got there, though. Neat TB hotel, and nicely done cache. Had no bugs, so made no swaps. TFTC!

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Throne

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I looked around a bit, but couldn't quite get to where I could spot it (this is a recurring theme for me these days), so I was glad when Woof! shouted joy. Of course, as for the rest of the instructions, I was just clueless, so I followed the pack to our next stage.

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Shrine

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Set out on a field trip with Woof!, WalruZ, LeChuck, and Alamo to find this series. Its been a long time since I took a day off of work to have some caching RnR, and I enjoyed it immensely. This find took some time for some reason, as the 5 of us milled about scouring the area. I think we might have just been "cold" on the cache-finding abilities, since this was the first of the series we hit. I think Woof! finally spotted it right where I was standing. Thanks!

Nefertiti's Pyramid

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

One really nice thing about caching in a group is that when multiple areas require investigation, it can be done simultaneously. WalruZ did the physical construction, I started directing (although Alamo just went straight for nearby locations before that), and Woof! came up with the cache! Thanks for the series!

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Royal Gates

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Ahhh, the culmination of a tease-fest involving our poison-oak-filled excursion to Igor... Woof! and WalruZ bantered back and forth all the way from Igor about the evil weed, until finally WalruZ (in his infinite wisdom) stopped threatening to touch her with his oaky hands and grabbed onto the nearest vine to threaten her instead. It was all very funny from the sidelines... Oh, and we took a few more minutes than necessary to find the cache through all this, but Woof! spotted it. TFTC.

Double Double

By: 4wheeler Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

And I was *so* hoping there would be an In-and-Out here when Alamo called out the cache title in the car...

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Viper

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I actually didn't spot this one, that was all WalruZ, but I am going to take credit for going where none would tread to find the cache site (of course then I got distracted by the fun of the route that I took to the cache site). Being in my current family-state, WalruZ saw what I was starting to do and just about walked on water to make sure I didn't topple over. As soon as he realized that I was on sure footing, his attention went to finding the cache (at least I think that's the reason he started the search). Then LeChuck came over to see what all the fun I was having was about... Ah, good times.

Nefertiti's Pyramid: King Tut

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Well, we zeroed out within EPE, but it still seemed like there were a few really good places sorta far away to put a cache, so that is where the group gravitated to at the start of the hunt. After those areas were all but overturned, our band of merry-makers started to scatter, each doing what they do when a DNF seems imminent. Alamo whipped out the phone, WalruZ started decrypting anything he could get his hands on, LeChuck found a nice place for a siesta. I, for my part, went back to the zero point and sat on my butt to take a rest and look around with some fresh eyes. Apparently Woof! doesn't require such "transcendental" and time-consuming techniques...

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Offerings

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

From our navigation at the last cache, a few of the less-observant were starting to walk back into Garin and completely ignore this one. The whole walk to this cache, we heard some form of wildlife (apparently in the nearby apartment complex) squawking intensely at whatever plight it thought it was in. It was all quite amazonian, which is not perhaps the theme intended by the cache owner, but whatever. WalruZ made the spot on this cache, thanks.

East Bay Gab 'n Gorge

By: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

Had a great time meeting new cachers (lotsa them at this event!) and chatting with the usual crowd. Won a Jeep for the little 'un, although its going to be placed long before s/he can enjoy it. This was probably the best pizza I've had at an event thus far...

East Bay Gab 'n Gorge

By: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

bug drop to correct the mileage on this Jeep.

Surreptitious Rendezvous

By: CoolCache Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Alamo was onsite and found this one first. That guy sure can jump out of a vehicle quickly! TFTC.

Uttmay Utstray

By: Rufusthecat Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A day off of work spent on a day of caching with Woof!, WalruZ, LeChuck and Alamo. I've never seen this campus before, but somehow had the idea that it would be a very different place. Its really nice up here. Thanks for showing me the area.

No need to be Coy Roy

By: GeoSpazz (Adopted by Marky Joani) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The first of my spots today, since WalruZ seemed to be in fine caching form... The snails were hanging out elsewhere nearby, so the cache was left unguarded. The log was pretty damp, but still signable. Thanks!

Britdog's Frisbee place

By: marwagsalot (maintained by Beckerbuns puppies Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

WalruZ made the spot on this one, as I was wandering around doing nothing constructive in particular... Thanks!

Never been this way and seen this place before. Thanks for taking me by.

Wright stop

By: OldFolk Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Put my evil-cache-hiding cap on, started a reasonably methodical search that didn't involve any plant life, and found it fairly quickly. I like these sorts of hides, Thanks!

Ride the Horse

By: Marky Joani Difficulty: 4.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

WalruZ had Bloo's coords, I had the posted coords, and he got to it first -- which was a good thing, given my current balance and flexibility issues... Somewhere in some photo album I know there's a picture of me at about 3 years old with a bandanna tied around my head babushka-style enjoying all Frontier Village had to offer. Maybe I was even on a spring-horse, who knows. Now I'm going to have to go and look. This cache started our morning (roughly) down Monterey Rd. ending with a pool party at my brother's place. Man, summer is just so cool, but I still can't understand how my brother went from long-haired, striped-bell-bottom wearing hippie kid to yuppie with a pool. Edit: I had no idea the correct spelling wasn't babooshka -- Learn something new every day...

21 Mile House

By: OldFolk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

This is easily WalruZ' favorite type of urban cache, where you learn something in the process. I enjoyed the Jamba Juice nearby, as well. Thanks for the lesson.

Urban Assault #20

What WalruZ said. I looked around for a while, but didn't quite get to where WalruZ finally found it. The log was really a mess -- quite waterlogged.

Sprite!

By: Cat Bird Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

In the area for some caching on the way to a social event today, and happened by this little cache. I looked around but the cammo was too much for me, apparently, but not for WalruZ. I like this kind of foliage, mmmmm. TFTC.

Diana's Rose

By: Travieso Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This park was a-hoppin' with cool kids this evening. Of course, it was probably a lot cooler in the park than in their houses... Luckily the cache was far enough away so as not to distract their attention from each other's antics on the playground. Thanks for the cache!

Miner Minor

By: Cat Bird Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Thanks for showing us your old stomping grounds! Glad to hear that whole kindergarten thing worked itself out there, otherwise think of all the cache logs you wouldn't be able to read! TFTC.

Vineyard's Vine

By: Wolf Grrl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I wasn't falling for the classic hides nearby, but I looked in the cache spot and just didn't see it! Luckily WalruZ was checking my work today... TFTC!

Who Let The Dogs Out?!

By: nik Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

WalruZ and I split up the tick bushes and started looking. It was on his side, so he found it first. Interesting dog park nearby -- although San Jose must not need one, since no one was there on a Sunday afternoon. TFTC!

Sutro Baths

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Took a nice little after-work walk around the Baths. This cache takes you to just about every allowable place for exploration in that area. Opted to drive to the final, although it also would have been a nice walk given the calm weather of the evening. Found cache pretty easily, it was sitting on the ground. Replaced it where the owner wanted it to be. TFTC!

I can't Livery without you

By: beachbum67 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Was in the area with WalruZ and gave this cache a shot. Did a pretty decent search and resorted to the hints, but then I was lured away by the promise of ice cream (and the idea that there was no cache-finding going to happen tonight). In fact, I wandered off far earlier than WalruZ did... Cold Stone has to be one of my major downfalls.

Escape From Alcatraz

By: Jbond Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Virtual

I've been to Alcatraz many, many times in my life, but all pre-geocaching, so I'm not sure that I always was paying as close attention as I was this time. The audio tour is excellent, but we decided to let the cache be our guide today. We weren't dissappointed. Thanks for the well-done virtual and the great outing on the Bay today!

Little Shop of Horrors: the Sequel!

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

This was a nice little event ya put on there, WoW! Glad we could end our outing in time to make it, and even get a chance to talk to lots of people during the course of the evening. I've been meaning to work on that big old ammo can for a half a year now, but always found some better thing I should do (like, hey, go find some caches maybe). It was really cool to see the new WHITE Jeeps (yeah, I'm biased since my Jeep is white), and to even get to take one home... Thanks for #1001!
