Pomodoro

By: Kilroy Gang Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Had lots of light, time and quite a few breaks between passer-bys to search, but still didn't see a "plain view" cache...

Lifes Science

By: Halbert Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I arrived a little later than the talk I wanted to hear at an on campus conference, so that gave me a 2 hour period to wander around. I've never been in this building and it really is neat what they've got out here. TFTC!

Deep Harmonies

By: zuckermn Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Took BART to an on campus conference these last two days, and doing it on a weekend day was much preferable to a weekday. TFTC!

Moose View

By: KARHU Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Other

That was one nice trail to walk. I hope to make a return visit and really figure out where it starts and where it ends! Thanks for the fun hike.

Airborne School

By: C Major and C Minor Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I had put off doing this one because all the stages and total mileage seemed sort of daunting to me. Today, I really wanted to do this one, as we were not going to have time to do any major hiking before leaving Grandma's to go back home. We decided that we'd start it up and just take it as it comes... Turns out that it didn't take WalruZ and I very much time at all to complete this one and earn our wings! Thanks for the nice multi.

Private with Rank: Basic Combat Training

By: C Major and C Minor Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Large

Hmmm, wonder how we'll ever re-retrieve the code for Specialist-HMMWV?

Ties that Bind

By: Roanq Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

We were taking a Sunday drive and ended up near enough to this area to take a longer Sunday drive than planned. I've always liked this area. Thanks for placing a cache to get me back here.

Stumped

By: X-ray Tech Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

It took some searching, both for a good entrance to the nice trail and to find the cache. But we managed to at least improvise for the first, and strategize for the second. I've always thought the real fun in caching was the hike, not the parking, but everyone plays the game their own way. Thanks for the nice hike today!

Beware of Frogs!

By: X-ray Tech Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This was a really nice area, and a nice placement in that area! Coords seemed a little wonky, but that was just the tree cover as it turns out. WalruZ and I ended our day of caching with this cache, and enjoyed the scenery and pleasant loop walk. Thanks!

Cactus If You Can

By: Roanq Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

We were on what seemed like a Sunday drive caching around the Monterey area today. The cache is in great shape, as are the cacti. I had fun trading here: swapped a travelling geocoin for a diabetes TB, left a swappable geocoin for a board book that I'm thinking Geo Baby will appreciate! Thanks!

Happy Trails

By: jesus_hiding_place Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

We were part of the group that enjoyed some weed pulling, ahem, invasive plant removal in the Ft. Ord backcountry. Our designated lunchtime parking spots were within a mile or two, so afterwards we went on a 6 mile baby-caching hike, which might have been more challenging than the weeds. We visited this cache long after the other groups out here, and it was about our halfway point on the loop we made. This really is a beautiful area, so even if CKayaks increased its cache population, that would be a nice return trip. Thanks for putting the cache here and rounding out our route!

Sentinal One

By: alohaboy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

We were out on a 6 mile baby-caching hike that we challenged ourselves with after the nearby CITO event. We were way behind the other groups that were out here today, but enjoyed the find! Thanks.

Hoodoo View

By: Cache_Monkey Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

We were at the CITO in the Ft. Ord backcountry today, and after our work time we had the afternoon to take a hike from a very nice parking spot nearby. This was toward the end of the 6 mile loop we hiked, and there had been some confusion about the new trails we were taking from Happy Trails to here, so everyone was feeling a bit worn down. Even Geo Baby had reached the end of her patience. Anyhow, finding this cache was quick work, and we were on our way. Thanks!

BETA BOB

By: The BETA Team Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

We took a nice 6 mile baby-caching loop hike after our weed pulling duties, and rather than do this one at the beginning, we saved it for the end (also, it was nice to have it as a waypoint for where the car was parked). WalruZ found this one, with a little help from hotshoe. Turns out that we were the last car to get outta Dodge, about 45 minutes before sundown! Thanks for the CITO organization and the new cache!

Ross and Ann Geocache

By: The BETA Team Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

It was a pleasure to meet the namesakes (at least one of them) of this cache at the CITO event before heading up to this cache. This one was our first stop of a 6 mile baby-caching hike that we challenged ourselves with afterwards. Turns out, baby-caching has its own challenges in the backcountry (above and beyond weed removal), and we were the last car left at the end of the day! TFTC.

RESOLUTION

By: Touchstone and el Jim Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

We had a great time seeing the back country of Ft. Ord from a different vantage point than we normally have. The raffle turned out to be quite the windfall for the family, and then we took a few hours and managed to get a handfull of caches in hard-to-reach places (in our typical form of backcountry transportation). It was a fabulous, educational, and fun family outing for us today! TFTE!

Been Here: Osgood

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I had been by here smack in the middle of the workday smack in the middle of the workweek earlier, and decided that I didn't want to stop -- the parking lots nearby the cache site were full of employees and construction guys working within sight. So, I figured a Sunday drive would be the trick for this one. Not exactly. The parking lots were almost as full!! When you say 24/7, you ain't kiddin'! Knowing that there wasn't a better time, we went for it anyway. Man was it cold out at dusk... Thanks.

Spices

By: Tregarthen Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We had meant to do the other caches in the area, but got sidetracked in the morning with another little project, so we opted for the easy way and also for this to be our last cache in the area for the weekend. WalruZ had an old hint in his head, so we were looking in areas that I didn't think would hold a cache anyway. Once he let me know the hint did not apply, I knew right where to look as I had been eyeing that spot as a place I'd have liked to examine! Thanks.

Rollin Down the Highway One Blues

By: Just a Short Walk & Along for the Ride! Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I ventured into an area that people may use for not-entirely-legal purposes, but everything turned out okay in the end. Thanks for the stop!

Auntie Rwanda

By: Rogue Ranger Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

WalruZ and I were unexpectedly detoured on our way to take Geo Baby and LeChuck to see Grandma, so we made a quick stop, thanks!

Drive Or Fly

By: G A-DayTrippers Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

We were driving, but it would have been a nice crisp and clear day to be up in a little plane! Removed a non-caching-friendlly item from the cache. Thanks for the stop and the interesting cache construction.

Hyde and Ivy on the Bank of the Mighty River

By: Dr. Jekyll Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

We stopped by this one after the nearby Birthday Event. WalruZ got a chance to show off his new toy, and we had plenty of cover with the gaggle o' cachers standing around, thanks!

RESOLUTION

By: Touchstone and el Jim Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

That'll be three weekends in a row that Grandma gets to see Geo Baby. Well, I guess I'd better check with her first, eh? Hopefully we won't see the inside of CHOMP during this event...

Diablo Vista Park

By: beachbum67 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

This park was indeed just the right speed for Geo Baby, and I had to be nearby to replace a wayward cache so it was a great stop this weekend. Lots of people in the area but with Geo Baby toddling around, our odd antics blended right in. Thanks for placing the cache.

Bat Cache (a.k.a. Nujawb 3)

By: Team Flyers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

In the area with WalruZ and Geo Baby to take the dread ghost pirate LeChuck to lunch, so what better dessert than a little cache! Thanks.

Ale Only Now

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Cracked the title, even found the hinted item, but Geo Baby and I were unsuccessful after two passes at this cache. Now she's in tears at the thought of DNFing a 2 star cache...

101 Excursion... Kirby Canyon

By: Jim and Jeanette Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Quick find during our drive from Grandma's house - in no small part due to the pleasure of meeting virtualdavid at the cachesite. Dropping TB. Thanks!

Where's George?

By: STP Ron Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Geo Baby provided excellent cover for this one, and enjoyed herself in the general area even in the absence of any bucket swings! Thanks!

Rusty

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

On my way from here to there this morning and thought I'd pick up some caches. TFTC!

Ohlone Rock

By: Team Travieso Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Geo Baby and I were taking an alternate route to Grandma's house today in order to pick up a Quad or two. This cache fit the bill for a Morgan Hill quad for me, and I got to slow down enough to discover a great trailhead area! We'll definitely be back with the whole crew to check this area out! TFTC.

Former Berryessa School Building

By: GeoBrowns Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I felt nice and sheltered looking for this cache, thanks!

You're Getting There!

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I knew where this one would be, so it sorta feels like cheating to log a find, but I did go through the permit process myself and come out again to sign the logsheet so I'll claim it!

You're Permitted!

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

4th on the logsheet behind the Touchstone family (will upload photo of log later). I was on this hike for WalruZ' placements but purposefully didn't participate in hiding 2 of them so that I could do the caches as intended - permit process and all. Since my vacation with Geo Baby is coming to and end I decided that a visit to Grandma's would suit me quite well and it would be convenient to take this short and sweet hike. Saw the Ranger driving towards the road after nabbing this cache, but he didn't stop me. I seem to be the only one up here this afternoon according to the sign-in station. TFTC!

You're Inspirational!

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Wow, what a nice little hike! They seem to have removed one of the picnic tables, so I'm glad I have the park to myself and don't have to fight anyone off! The view is still quite nice and the weather that appears to be rolling in from the coast has slowed since I started out from you're permitted. I'd better get back down, though, before it changes its mind... Took the Diabetes TB since it looks like it might be awhile before anyone permits themselves to take this hike!

(#2 Bay Trail) Islais Landing

By: AuntFlora Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

This was my third time driving by the site. This time we actually parked the car, but WalruZ went and read the interpretational material while he scoped out the situation, and then decided on a pass.

de Haro's Pasture - Historic SF

By: reade Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

My first cache in the new year! I've always liked this area of the Potrero neighborhood, thanks for bringing us here on this sunny and pleasant day. TFTC.

The Point in Caching

By: dimkasmir & OwlCacher Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

WalruZ and I were in the area doing cache maintenance and working on another project in the Park, so we came by to get this one off my to-do list. WalruZ had it in hand before I had even gotten to the area (I was helping Geo Baby walk there). Indeed, the hints from OwlCacher's log pointed him right to the correct spot of ivy. Thanks.
