The Well-established EucalyptusBy: stwil Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
The euc smelled great while we searched. I promptly lost signal as we parked the car, so I had to rely on the hint and past logs to narrow down the possible search locations. A minivan doesn't make for too much fun to drive in this sort of country, but I can imagine that being on this road in my first car - an MG - would have been a lot of fun! Thanks.

It just seemed right to get everyone out for a little ice cream and walk today, so we targeted this cache to do that job. Thanks!

WalruZ, Geo Baby and I, along with the BKT clan, visited the nearby "Old McDonalds" (what Geo Baby calls it) establishment for lunch before heading out of town after a great GW6 weekend. Lo and behold, I turned my GPSr on and a cache was right conveniently nearby! Trading ensued and we were on our way. Thanks!

WalruZ, Geo Baby and I were out with the BKT crew the day after GW6 and decided that the Sierra College caches would be a good way to let B (age 9), K (age 6) and Geo Baby (age 2) get a little walking in before sitting in the car for a few hours. One of the little ones managed to find this one after we read the description out loud. Thanks!
Under CoverBy: h_mtreasurecache Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I represented an advance search party of 1 before giving the all-clear to have the girls come off trail (two weren't wearing long pants, after all), so I got to inspect the cache up close and personal. After calling the all-clear to the troops, I got a great laugh when they found it. Thanks!

Great hide and a great way to cap off our stay in Rocklin this weekend! Thanks.
Sierra's OaksBy: h_mtreasurecache Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
WalruZ, Geo Baby and I joined the BKT crew for a little hike behind Sierra College. They were closing off parking lots right and left here for auto and motorcycle thingys, but we finally managed to find a good access spot. The kids liked the trading and somehow Geo Baby ended up choosing a measuring tape (not sure why). We dropped a bunch of toys to fill the cache back up. Thanks.

At first there was just two of us that piled out of the minivan to visit stage 1 and the pair of cachers already workin' the area, then two more minicachers piled out to examine, then the driver and the miniest cacher came out. After some time scouring the area (good thing people around here were probably used to seeing this sight after the last few days), I came up with the coordinates (not very easy to determine that was what they were at first). All the minicachers with us appreciated looking at the swag in the regular sized cache. Nice to meet the covina cachers and talk minivan with them. Thanks!
Eye Level and ShineyBy: luc pockets Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
We were going to stop for this cache on the way to the big event, but the nearby Church was having a sale in the parking lot, so we passed it up. On the way back after the event, we saw a gaggle of cachers working the site area, so we joined in. Thanks!
Guido's Cactus Patch CacheBy: Guido O Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Other
I didn't have this one in my GPSr, but my Compatriots-Of-The-Minivan did, so we stopped. A knot of people behind us decided to stop too, making it a PARTY!!!!! Thanks for the cache and I hope your email Inbox survives this onslaught...
My Little Pumpkin CacheBy: Guido O Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
On the way to the main festivities, we saw cars pulled over and some people huddling over a small piece of paper. Not one to pass that sort of thing by, I just joined the little huddle and figured out where to return the cache! Thanks.

Those cows had their own Mafioso hierarchy -- some were doing the stare-down, others were charging the minivan (until the barbed wire stopped 'em). It was hil-ar-ious! They must deliver their haybales in a green Mercury Villager... Thanks for the cache.

Sheridan FieldBy: UtChaz & Family Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
So much for stealth, as Dowbiggin and I approached the young men closing up after a party at the center pointed us in the right direction and gave a bit of a "hint" on the hide. It was pretty funny, and after we finished about 20 cachers came out of the parking area toward us...
Go One of Three WaysBy: luc pockets Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I think we might have strained the "ample parking" when we arrived just after GW6 was ending, but everyone came away from the area with a happy face! Thanks.
ON A Roll IIBy: luc pockets Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Came by after GW6 to find a group of cachers finishing their marks, so I signed and then another set of cachers came up for the pass-off. I imagine a steady stream did pass offs all morning and evening... Thanks for the cache.
California Talking Tree #2By: UtChaz & Family Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
We were first to arrive on scene, at least in the window of time we were driving by, and our presence sparked a party of 4 more cars, or so it seemed! Thanks.

In the words of Geo Baby "That's amazing!" (though she'll write her own log -- she's got tons to say about Saturday). The day was fabulous! I can't imagine a better venue to kick around with cachers of all ages, and keep every single one of them busy with activities! I keep trying to pick out my favorite two or three activities of the day, and I just can't seem to single just two or three out -- they were all so much fun. Lessee: we danced on the tables to the first performance of Music Matt, we rode on a wooden train and a real train, had some great festival food for lunch (which we ate while sitting in the wooden train) and dinner (sitting very close to the wooden train), saw all sorts of animals up close (multip le times), danced to the last performance of Second Time Around (not on tables, thankfully), met Signal, played in corn and on tires, shared Jamba Juice, worked the diggers, saw JohnnyVegas's magic show, went down the biggest slide Geo Baby has ever attempted, found stamps in geocaches for a special GWVI zipper-pull prize, almost painted an ammo can (chickened out at the last minute), talked to many friends both old and new, and looked at all the pretty geocoins all over the place. We had such a great time here we managed the whole day without nap, and I think we will be back to visit Bishop Ranch in pumpkin season - although for WalruZ and I that kind of fun won't compare to having the place occupied with 3 thousand geocachers.
It obviously took an amazing amount of volunteers and work to pull this off, and RCGDS and NUTS did a spectacular job -- THANKS SO MUCH!!!
County Line - YubaBy: TRAKD Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
Luckily Dowbiggin was in our wagon for the event today, and she happened to have this solved and in her GPSr. Not that the clutch of cachers already on site wouldn't have clued us in to the location or anything... Getting a few logs this weekend? Thanks!
Lincoln Brand RevisitedBy: h_mtreasurecache Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen
Our last of the evening, as we ran into the Kusanagi clan at this cache site, and spent the last of the day's light catching up on the latest after finding the cache... Log was, not surprisingly, more than full at our visit. Thanks.

We were on our way to GW6 and saw a car or two pulled over, and so we thought we'd see what all the hubbub was about. After I made my way to the cache, I was joined by two other groups of people!
Pumpkin HeadBy: UtChaz & Family Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Navigation this weekend was easy -- just pull over behind the cars already parked there! We managed to be the first group on the scene at the time we did this one, but the actual find goes to the next car that pulled in behind us! Thanks.
Last StopBy: graniteman84 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
That's a last stop, alright. Of course, it being just after GW6 and still light out, it wasn't our last stop... I enjoyed the drive out to the location, thanks!
Rocklin Pin SmashingBy: h_mtreasurecache Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen
I was busy combing the area with WalruZ and Geo Baby, when up comes Iseek and Eyeseek2 and pulls it out of its hiding spot. Nice meeting other cachers in the field -- and you just couldn't help but do that this weekend!
Friday Night Meet & GreetBy: RCGDS & NUTS Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen
We planned ahead to beat the traffic from the Bay Area (left at 10 am and sailed right through to Rocklin!), let Geo Baby jump on the hotel bed for a while, and then headed down to the MeetNGreet around 4. Amazing organization, and we really appreciated getting our packet and shirts early so we could plan out the next day! This was pulled off quite well and there were so many people in attendance by 7 pm that Geo Baby was able to capitalize on the 30 seconds that I wasn't watching her and sneak off to the see saw, giving me a bit of a scare (yeah, this is why I couldn't volunteer this weekend -- she's a crafty little toddler). We decided that it was going to be bedtime after that, so we missed all the traffic-denizens that arrived at the tail end... Thanks for the pre-party!
Air and WaterBy: h_mtreasurecache Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
That stuff is invisible, I swear it! We were surprised to not have any company at this cache, since we were there for a while. I was tempted to vacuum out the cachemobile while we were parked, since it had already gotten pretty wasted on the drive up... Thanks.
K-M Bird NestBy: h_mtreasurecache Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen
We arrived about an hour early for check in at our hotel -- what to do, what to do? Hey, what are those people looking at that tree for? I think we should power up the unit and head on over... Thanks for the cache.
Migratory History 2By: ErSamin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other
We were debating whether to start this multi before arriving at the pre-event, when we joined forces with a few other cachers and made our way to the final. More cachers were attracted over by our little group, and one of the newcomers made the find. It is amazing how long it takes a little clutch of 15 cachers to come up with a little microcache! Thanks.
Odd Man OutBy: graniteman84 Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
We were out doing a little pre-pre-event caching, waiting for our check-in time at the hotel, and somehow managed to wind our way out this way. After quite a bit of a search, WalruZ found the odd man. Nice construction, thanks.

We enjoyed our walk out to the cache site today, after a little cache maintenance/playground stop. It got a little hot, but we managed to make the round trip without many complaints from the stroller-dweller. thanks.
SaltamontesBy: fly-boys Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small
We didn't exactly do this as a "quickie" from parking, with a loop out to the Survival cache included, although no walk more than 300 feet with a 2 year old could be defined as quick anyway... Nap had just ended and I had just transferred to baby-backpack duty before our approach, and I was glad to see that I could see the cache from the last safe spot on the approach so that we could claim this one with the group. Thanks!
collier pileBy: clubjackie Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
We were expecting to spend some time here, and so I made sure that Geo Baby was set with a sticker or two to keep her out of the road and then turned around to start my search. Turns out it was in the first place I looked -- so I got to call WalruZ back over from across the street where he was crawling on the ground because he claimed he zeroed out there. Fun times, Thanks!
Morgan's TreasureBy: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
Out for a little hike with a group of cachers, then just the family, only to meet back up with part of the group much later at the last few we hiked to today. Both our and minicacher's groups decided it was snack time here, since there was a wide variety of available seating. We liked the cammo, although we were not quite quick enough to the site for the full effect of the discovery. Thanks!
Morgan's StonesBy: CJCJ Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small
We enjoyed the hike to this cache from Morgan's Treasure, with Geo Baby doing all the walking herself. She's getting to be so big these days... We swapped out a finger puppet for a dinosaur here, I think, but the outcome of some of the fast-and-furious toddler-negotiated trading is getting a little fuzzy... Thanks.

Enjoyed the stop, funny how these rural Livermore areas are breeding suburban subdivisions these days... Dropped a TB I've been holding too long - hopefully some nice passer-by will move it along. Thanks.

Rolling MeadowBy: WeBeFour Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small
A small group of cachers, representing at least a half-century in age range, ventured out into new lands (for them, well, except for WalruZ for whom this apparently was old hat) to find some caches in Morgan Territory today. It felt like we played ring-around-the-poison-oak-stand before finally getting to the correct (and non-poison-oaky) spot to find the cache! Some trading was done by the preschool crowd and then we were on our way! thanks.
The Black HoleBy: WeBeFour Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small
On our way back to parking from the GBA hike around Morgan Territory, we had managed to rejoin the non-toddler-carrying group from their far-flung excursion and made our way to this cache. It was good that we joined back up with the group, because otherwise I'm not sure we would have taken this detour back to parking. After some indecisive trade moments, Geo Baby decided on a truck and left a finger puppet.
Green BriefcaseBy: Ron Streeter Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
Went for a little stroll today in Morgan Territory, and this was the first cache the group ventured to, although Geo Baby and WalruZ elected to stay behind for this one. I was able to get my preschooler-hiking-fix anyway, and enjoyed watching mini cacher wrangle the littler one. I think we might have found a more-sane but less-direct route to the cache if that darn arrow hadn't been leading me. Some trading was done and we were on our way, thanks!
Survival CacheBy: Mark and James Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Not chosen
We just had to come and visit this good oldie cache today while hiking around Morgan Territory with and without some GBA company. It was getting windy around noontime when celebrated the find with lunch just down the slope from the cache, out of the wind. Geo Baby almost made it here hiking with her own two legs, and we are quite proud of the hiking that she did for her milestone day today. WalruZ remembered the first incarnation of the cache, glad to see it maintained! Thanks.
Trails Challenge: Morgan TerritoryBy: Muggle Finder Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Our family just got our TC2008 t-shirts in the mail this last week (although Geo Baby will take a few years to fit into an adult M -- no idea why they sent that size!?!), and so what better way to kick off our mileage charts by donning the light blue and heading to Morgan Territory (where I'd never been before). In the morning, we saw all the SAR doggies and some youth out for training and thought of this cache's owner. We met up with some of the GBA group outing folks and hung with them as long as we could (until toddler snack time, realistically), but managed to meet back up with them for the last couple of caches on the hike. Aside from a baffling encounter first thing on the hike with a lady purporting to know of geocache-placement regulations/registrations that I've never seen announced anywhere (and the cache owner and I both keep track of these things going on in EBPRD, eh?) -- dressed in pink and riding shotgun in an unmarked and obviously civilian Honda Accord in the middle of the Volvon trail -- it was a pleasant start to our Trails Challenge experience. I think I'll enjoy spending more time this year visiting, caching, and hiking closer to home in the East Bay instead of visiting the normal cacher-friendly places in SC county and the Peninsula. We did a few drive ups on the way out to TV rd., but this was the last cache of the hike for Geo Baby and I (WalruZ already found it, apparently). Thanks!
