Somewhere .....By: catomcat Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Had time for one this morning before attending an all-day professional development class in Cupertino. This was a revisit of a DNF, since I finally found the proper screen on my device to help me. Gardeners out trimming in full force this morning, but I did what I needed to do while they were busy. Dropped a traveller.
By Any Other NameBy: phoenix_kaji Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
This was our closest unfound, so we had to visit it as soon as some free time presented itself. We had a nice evening walk post-dinner, and I took the opportunity to scout out the area for potential free BART parking (alas, there are signs...). Enjoyed the nice quiet grassy area, and retrieved the roving cache from this location too. Geo Baby spent some time signing the logbook in her own special almost-3-year-old way, and then we finally got her to narrow down her toy choice to one since we only had one toy with us to swap. Thanks for the cache.
Fly... MARS ROVER (Cache is now IN TRANSIT!)By: mtn-man Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Other
Geo Baby and I visited the uber-new cache close to our house tonight after work and daycare, and found the Rover too! Love them two-fers... Geo Baby will be moving it tomorrow with the help of Daddy, as I am stuck developing professionally all day (yes, on a Saturday, ugh).
Sunset TunnelBy: WalruZ Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Nice stop on the way to work today. Jumped off a streetcar, found cache in time to catch the next one coming out of the tunnel and sufficiently shielded from both the homeless hangout bench and the city workers mowing the grass. thanks!
The Delight of FlowersBy: ladypilot Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
We enjoyed an afternoon at the museum, after a fun BART ride. The presence of a cache with toys was just the thing to finish off a great outing! Dropped a geocaching patch in exchange for a beaded lizard that Geo Baby chose, and swapped travelling coins. Thanks.
A Different ViewBy: ManInThePlanet Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
I've been all over most nooks and crannies of San Francisco, but I can honestly say that I've never been here. Today I drove in to work, and this one was close enough to do as a quickie on the way home. What a neat area. I was first tempted by the reservoir running path, but quickly realized my mistake and had the cache in hand shortly. The view was a bit hazy from the incoming fog, but still well worth it. Thanks.
Jill's BeachBy: rosmo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I was really glad that WalruZ was with me on this one. I would have never found that little guy amongst all that stuff.
I Left My Heart in San FranciscoBy: beck1980 & unleashthefreak Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Micro
At previous visits, my GPSr had been pointing quite a ways away from where I finally found the cache today. No idea what was different about today, other than it was a weekend...
The Fog comes and goes.....By: roanq Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Our first stop this morning at Jack's Peak, northward hike. The two of us spent a goodly 45+ minutes wandering around between the two GPSr zero points looking at every cranny we could find for a micro. After about 20 minutes or so into that, we busted out the description and hints, and it still took some time for WalruZ to finally stumble upon it. Vastly underrated on the difficulty stars -- a highly-cammod nano hidden off trail in the forest should never be a 1.5... Thankfully we got the cache in enough time to continue our hiking plans for the day. Thanks.
No Fires HereBy: X-Ray Tech Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
It was all I could do to get WalruZ to put back the cache without swapping out containers. Sheesh, you'd think we had plenty of all types of containers with a whole closet devoted to random caching stuff... Thanks.
"V" Tree In Rattlesnake MeadowBy: Trail Reader (formerly known as LFoucht) Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small
I liked the contrast of hiking through the meadow after having done the Madrone trail over to Earl Mosier along the ridge. We started seeing a lot more people out on the trails at this point, even though the afternoon was a bit warm. Thanks for the cache.
The Forest Beneath Your FeetBy: Trail Reader (formerly known as LFoucht) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Very nice area for a cache. I could hear screeching from the nearby picnickers, and for a little bit wondered whether they were banshee forest hunters going to discover me in their territory and roast me for dinner. Luckily I made it to the car alive... Thanks for the cache.
Just Because I Could!By: Geokashers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro
boy that last few hundred feet were quite a pull for us today. For some reason, the morning fog burned off early on the Carmel side of the hills... Thanks for the cache.
There Will Be No Horsing Around Here!By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro
There wasn't really much room to horse around here, truly! We had been in the park hiking around for about 2 hours at this point, and hadn't seen a single person on the trails the whole time. Then, as we were hanging out with the logsheet at this site, a stealth hiker comes walking by holding only an orange (no water or stuff). Lots of leafy green and red here, so we were glad the cache was away from it a bit. Thanks.
A Green CacheBy: Roanq Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small
Yep, it sure was! Didn't have my trade swag along today, or I would've enjoyed trading green. Thanks.
A Poor Woman's CacheBy: roanq Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
WalruZ is just Mr. Magicfingers with those little orange containers. I flip over natural cammo after natural cammo object and never quite come up with them. We were nearing the end of our loop today, somewhere around hour 3 or 4 of the hike, and even though he took a nasty spill on a root into a sprouting of poison oak just prior to getting to the cache site, WalruZ still managed to find this one while I was looking elsewhere. Thanks.
No Room Service for TBsBy: Trail Reader (formerly known as LFoucht) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small
I scrambled around a bit where WalruZ told me he was pointing, after having inspected an area about 50 feet away thanks to my trusty Legend-without-the-high-sensitivity-receiver. As he read the hint out loud, I must have not been following the gist of it well enough since he hobbled on over and started to search the scrabble with me. Yup, he came up with it. Thanks for the cache.
Don't Move My Cache! The Helpful Cacher Story.By: Geokashers Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small
WalruZ had been all irked that we must have walked right by this cache last month on our southward Jack's Peak journey, so we detoured from the northern loop today to pick it up. Thanks!
Poaching In Hidden MeadowBy: Trail Reader (formerly known as LFoucht) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small
I was looking around my zero area, while WalruZ went straight for the suspicious pile of rocks. He found a lock-n-lock, but I found the cache. The letterbox and the cache are about 15 feet apart from each other and so I can see where the confusion lies...
Earl MoserBy: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular
A very nice location, and nice to meet some other cachers in the park!
Come Toot Your HornBy: WalruZ Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Invisible, it was. Or maybe I'm starting to be of a certain age and need glasses. I signed the log waaaaay far down, as I was there at placement. TFTC.
