White RocksBy: NamGuy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
WalruZ and I did the quick cache-n-dash from the wrong direction, but traffic wasn't too bad even though it was the holiday weekend. Thanks.
BeachGateBy: NamGuy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I got a geocaching injury here from the half-burnt tree, but WalruZ managed to find the cache for us anyway. Thanks!
SE AL the ELEPHANTSBy: THE DBL A-TEAM Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
The arrow was pointing us everywhere, which really freaked me out as there doesn't seem to be any sort of structure that would cause that out here. After reading the hint it was a quick find for the marine mammal I was with -- must be that fresh salt air! thanks.
Treasure Island IIIBy: Touchstone Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Micro
After our high seas adventure last month, we decided to visit the final on the way out to perform some long-distance cache maintenance in southern Monterey county. You aren't likely to have any problems with this area. Thanks for the replacement, matey!
Leff InkwellBy: NamGuy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
After a half-hearted search for this cache, we decided to try our luck on the holiday weekend and see if we could find lodging across the street with no reservations. bingo! After relaxing a bit (it was a long drive), we were rejuvinated enough to try again before dinner. Thanks!
End of the Road - San SimeonBy: Bobdm Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Who woulda thunk a trailhead to the state beach would be there?!?! Thanks for the cache to point it out.
Owings Memorial in Redwood GulchBy: campyc Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small
WalruZ and I were taking a nice drive down the coast to maintain his Hwy 1 fountain caches, and lo and behold, we stop for this cache and find a fountain! Yay! Had a nice little walk to the cache site and spotted the cache quickly with the information in the cache page. Thanks.
San Simeon Seal and Sunset SpotBy: campyc Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
We had been driving for a while, jumping out of the car here and there for caches and cache maintenance, so when presented with the opportunity to take a nice flat walk along the bluff it was just what we needed. Saw a few seals taking a nap, and were sufficiently away from the crowds at the other parking area to really appreciate nature! Thanks.
Moon the MoonBy: xiandra Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
Neat little walking area, although I found someone's rolled up sleeping bag on the other side of the grove from the cache, so it might not be so nice to search when the resident is here. My theme for the day was basically having trouble finding everything, but WalruZ was in his element in the salt air and seascape... We enjoyed the evening in the nearby "resort" lodging after finding this Moon. thanks.
Burton St. Bridge of CambriaBy: Castle Man Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Spontaneous was the word for the day, according to WalruZ, so after spontaneously checking into accommodations (without a reservation) and finding a place to eat, we walked down Burton St. from Main street in the waning light. Thanks for the after-dinner cache.
Salmo RivulusBy: Naturesprite Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular
Our chosen route to the cache was oak-free, but we found the oakey route the others wrote on the way back to the highway. Had a bit of trouble in the area spotting the cache, but WalruZ didn't. he was really on his game... Thanks.
SlideBy: Just a Short Walk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
As we pulled over to scout the area, we weren't sure of a good approach, but after a little reconnaissance decided to go for it. Nice walk out to the site, and the cache contents have held up well even though the container is a bit beat. thanks for the oldie!
Pacific ValleyBy: Florian and Iron Chef Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
I was surprised our ultra-low-clearance vehicle made it a respectable distance up the dirt road to this cache, the same dirt road which stymied my Jeep with a little rainfall! Had a nice experience with the short hike up to the cache -- what a view! Thanks for the adventure.
Veterans--From Park To HallBy: Trail Reader Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
We decided to take the Hall route instead of the park route, as we'd already done our Huckleberry bushwhack for the day and we were getting sort of tired. Thanks for the well-placed cache!
Heiwa Ai KoufukuBy: rainbow_guyz Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
I always love visiting Huckleberry Hill, thanks for the cache!
Childhood Playground 1 & 2By: roanq Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
We had a lot of trouble with stage 1, and WalruZ ended up locating it after about 40 minutes of searching and trying not to look too suspicious (well, I was, WalruZ doesn't worry his pretty head about other people). At stage 2, we were pointing directly up into the nasty poison oak area and even bashed around in there a bit before I looked in the opposite direction as the arrow and very quickly spotted the cache. I think we were about 40 feet off zero at both stages... Nice to have some new caches in the area this summer, thanks!
Veteran's Park Trail CacheBy: roanq Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
I had a pretty good idea of where this would be, since I've zigzagged all over this area for caches a few years ago. I'm glad to return for more!
Huckleberry ForestBy: roanq Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular
We didn't take the expected approach, which made for quite an adventure. However, it was more of an adventure to bushwhack from this cache to the other one we had unfound in Huckleberry Hill. Thanks for the cache and the experience!
Kimber Farms RediscoveredBy: D & D Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Took a bit of a lunch break while working from home to find this cache. Thanks!
Plomosa Park PathBy: phoenix_kaji Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
Since the weekend seemed like a bad time to visit this cache, I made it a point to mosey on by here at lunchtime during the week. Cute construction and a quick grab with no neighbors out and about! Thanks.
No Longer Cesar ChavezBy: Baron88 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Couldn't search today, as some farmers market guys had parked their behinds right at GZ, waiting for their truck to load itself, I'd imagine. We'll be back (and, gee, there's a playground nearby. How convenient -- Geo Baby will remember that for us, even.)
Where the Sidewalk EndsBy: Baron88 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Visited the playground and did a lot of head scratching... Finally WalruZ stepped in, did a bunch of head scratching of his own, and after doing all that looked in a different spot and made the find. Thanks.
Bushes and BoxesBy: Baron88 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Visited the playground and dropped a traveling coin. Thanks!
Little BridgeBy: Baron88 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Visited the playground and dropped a travel bug (notice a pattern to what we did today???). Thanks for the new hides that Geo Baby was very keen to do.
Los Coches OverlookBy: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro
We had a nice family hike last weekend, and as soon as Geo Baby was off his back, WalruZ ran off at our water break/turnaround point to place this cache. When he returned, he handed the GPSr to me to proof the placement, I guess so he could get a little rest on the bench himself... Signed on the 15th spot of the second sheet. TFTC and nice view.
Cheesy NookBy: Shiku Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I was surprised that at 4pm on a sunny Sunday the parking lot was basically empty. After checking some non-bush spots closer to zero, looking just a little farther out made for a quick find... Thanks for the last cache of the day.
Calaveras ViewBy: KMonster & KaMiAb Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I had apparently passed it right over, so it was a good thing that WalruZ didn't! Thanks for the cache.
Warm Springs HideawayBy: phoenix_kaji Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
A quick jump out and it was mine! Geo Baby enjoyed seeing the contents of the cache, and couldn't quite figure out what to take. We ended up swapping a little car out for some sunscreen packet and ink stamp. Thanks.
Plomosa Park PathBy: phoenix_kaji Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
The most proximal neighbor was sitting on his driveway working on something and looking at me, so I didn't mount much of a search before moving on. I'll be back.
Is It Oakey Enough For You?By: phoenix_kaji & mayasto Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Luckily no one seemed to be at home this afternoon. Very nice container, so I hope you don't lose it. Cache is probably safe until someone does a cleanup, which is likely to happen eventually given the upscale look of the houses and the amount of trash beginning to be visible from the road.
Levee Run - Dog OwnersBy: csolsen and katelynwill Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
First of the day out with the family. I checked my email for other reasons before we headed out to breakfast, and mentioned to WalruZ that a new cache had popped up a mile away, and he just wanted to go go go. So, off we went instead of breakfast for the STF. Nice doggies and their people around this morning for Geo Baby to see. We did eventually get to some pancakes, though. thanks.
A Cache for SpringBy: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small
Wow, our story is rather vanilla compared to the last two non-visits! We paid our $6, got a trail map, and parked in the appropriate park parking lot (the closer one is for permitted group picnics). From the front lot, we took the lower trail through to the group area, continuing on past the volleyball area even though it showed a dead end on the official trail map. After a short walk (where we saw a horse-trampled gopher snake on trail) we met up with the backside trail that hellolost and saz describe, only we turned right and crossed the street into Los Coches ridge, following the shady route to this cache. Quick grab once we were in the area! Traded some things for the kid. Thanks.
Houston We Have A Problem!By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small
Out for a family hike here today, after a quick non-FTF run and some pancakes. There were lots of people out enjoying the park picnic areas about an hour before noontime, so it wasn't surprising when we finished our hike at 3 how busy the park was! Hardly anyone out on the trails, though (just a few horsies here and there). This was the first cache on our hiking route and Geo Baby was in fine spirits because we'd just found three fun looking turkey feathers to "fly" around with while on WalruZ's back. Pokey at the cache site, but I can think of worse plant life to worry about... Thanks for the cache.
Los Coches RidgeBy: TeamSpider3 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular
WalruZ, Geo Baby and I took a nice family hike through the Los Coches ridge area. Not many hikers in this side of the park -- just some horses using the trails -- although the picnic areas were really hoppin'. This cache seemed to be lonely, so we stopped by for a visit. Thanks!
The LakeBy: littlecachers2008 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Always nice to revisit the Lake District. Thanks for the cache!
Destination Cache in Downtown HaywardBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Our "just one more" before returning home for a late nap (apparently for WalruZ, since Geo Baby didn't sleep a wink today). Thanks for the new ones within the rising gas price distance from our house.
Power StatuaryBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
It always creeps me out when people are just sitting in their cars in random areas that have no connection to food purchase, their house, or a view or anything. Nice hiding spot, anyway.
Pushing Up DaisiesBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
I found the cache pushing up daisies, along with a small bird providing mealtime for a host of bugs in the daisies. What a way to go... Thanks for the cache.
Greenleaf/way (AKA Blueberry Tree & Satsuma Plum)By: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Playgrounds are always a hit with our weekend caching companion, and the neighborhood was still reasonable to visit and spend time in with the preschooler. Thanks for the hide.
La Tour EiffelBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Ah, the biking tweakers -- we've got those hidden around Fremont these days too. Otherwise things were pretty quiet here, just the sound of a passing Amtrak train to entertain the kid. Thanks.
A Plum Spot for a CacheBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
More biking dudes hanging out, but not near the cache site so we went for it. Had to keep the preschooler up on the shoulders, because she was really interested in some of the items behind the seating area. TFTC.
Muir End/Greenway HangerBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
All quiet (and hot) around here today, except for a yappy dog behind the fence and some wandering strays in the park farther down. Very much unlike our last visit to this side of the greenbelt for caches a couple of years ago, which was filled with people in the cool of the morning. Thanks.
Orchard OvercrossingBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
I see this location most mornings from a train window. Thanks for the cache.
Prickly GardenBy: Linc-Clan Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
I was nearby for a meeting, and had a travelling geocoin that I needed to find someplace for. I remember finding the Secret Garden cache not too long before it went bye-bye and from my map the current cache was very nearby, so I knew just where to access the area. Thanks for the cache in this very cache-worthy location!
Mountain Lion ViewBy: wendycat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small
We parked nearby, probably only possible for a limited time on Sundays, and made our way to the cache site. I looked around a bit, as did WalruZ, but we couldn't ferret out the hide from the many possible locations. After consulting the past logs and figuring out that it hadn't been found since January and there was no response from the owner about the needs maintenance logs from springtime, I decided that I'd head uphill just a bit and wait for WalruZ to finish his search. Lo and behold, as I was standing there and looking around purposelessly, I spied the edge of something that required either further examination or a CITO bag. Lucky for us, further examination occurred and the cache was found! Thanks.
D.O.G. cache (Dead-end, Overgrown, Greenbelt)By: DOG walker Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro
There weren't many places to search at GZ that weren't covered in PO, so that narrowed things down a bit for me -- although WalruZ got right down in it when his first pass didn't come up with the goods! Thanks for the cache.
Treasure Island IIIBy: Touchstone Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Micro
We came out and enjoyed a nice boat ride, just as when we did TI2 a couple of years back. Around the final site, I found all sorts of neat stuff -- half a jar of peanut butter, a book, a pair of combat boots, some black shoe polish, a tripod in good shape, a mesh basket, a steel file -- but no cache. Darn.
GeobotBy: Touchstone Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
The idea this weekend was to expand our caching horizons for our 3k/5k milestone and attempt a wherigo geocache (something that, despite our familiarity with wherigo, we had not done yet). So, with that in mind, we chose our next Monterey weekend for the adventure, knowing that the area is a virtual WheriGo mecca (heh, I'm punny). WalruZ loaded up a few -- well, several -- candidate cartridges in the device and we prioritized our time according to specific and thoroughly-planned philosophies. As time started to become short in the afternoon and we still had not bagged our Wherigo cache, we conside red regrouping at our Monterey base of operations to examine the new traditionals in the area for a philosophical match that would be done the next day. Instead, we stuck to our original philosophy and headed over here to enjoy a couple of popsicles and a nice walk around the lake. I had been here before for the amazing DDBK multi, and had prioritized Geo Bot lower because I was worried about deja vu, but I needn't have troubled myself about that. Thanks for a fun time!
Pacific Grove Train StationBy: JMunch Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Another little guy that took a bit of time to spot this morning, but at least we could manage some stealth from the golfers that happened by. Thanks!
Off the Beaten Path- SP ROWBy: fox51 and jmunch Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Enjoyed our morning walk to this cache after a Starbucks stop. Took a while to spot, but the WalruZ had a clear advantage in that department!

I had never noticed the mural before, thanks for showing it to us.
Off the Beaten Path- Jacobsen ParkBy: fox51 and jmunch Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
We've hunted in this park before and enjoyed all the places one could hide a cache, this time was no different except for an unfortunate knee placement that had WalruZ in shorts for the rest of the day - good thing the weather was getting warm! TFTC.
