Twin CreeksBy: Scouts Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Terrain 1? I'm not sure my 3 year old could do a walk this long, even though its flat, what with the roundabout way one has to get to it from the legal (albeit expensive for another few days) parking area. I had a nice ~3.5 mile walk around the Baylands area, and made the half mile-ish detour to the next levee over to pick this one up. The water guys were in their truck talking in front of the 'office' nearby, so I hope they weren't watching me through their rear-view... thanks.
Bridge to the PastBy: bullit and mickeychopchop Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
This area is hoppin' now -- the gleaming buildings apparently filled with worker bees. I walked over from Baylands Park near the late commute hour and the lot was busy with people coming in to work. Thanks for the cache.
Surprise!By: Neophile Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
We let Geo Baby choose whether we were going to park at the staging area or the main lot for our hike today, and she chose main lot. So, it was a pretty quick hike out to this cache after a nice breakfast at Dino's. Unfortunately, those last several feet were too tough for me to manage with her on my shoulders and I ended up doing a faceplant in thistle with little legs dangling down my neck, so I opted to stay safely on trail while WalruZ and Geo Baby enjoyed the surprise. Thanks for the cache.
Squid TreeBy: Neophile Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small
We decided that Geo Baby was animated, and walking, enough to head over here after Surprise, so off we went. Nice little family hike it was, and Geo Baby enjoyed all the narrow bridges along the way. At the cache site, WalruZ went straight for the poison oak twigs as he usually likes to do, while I looked around in the nice oak-free area that the cache was hidden in. Thanks!
Rock Cave in Curly ReedsBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
The dogs were doing more than barking, they seemed to be out taking a hike (and barking) without a human. First there was this little yappy dog going at it and coming closer and closer, and after a while it went back to recruit a less-yappy golden retriever and they both came noisily all the way down to where we eventually found the cache after they left. We kept Geo Baby on shoulders for the duration. We didn't see any people in this back until our walk back to the playground, sorta surprising for a Saturday late morning. Thanks for the cache.
Foothill ViewBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
The container apparently handles weight really well, and I didn't even make the find [:I] !
The H: Old Hayward High SchoolBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Small
WalruZ had been reading the description for the wrong cache, so we took quite a bit of time to actually get to the container. Coords ended up being quite good for Google Earth-extractions. I wondered if that whole area was still an official part of the park, but the map and Walruz seem to think it is. thanks for the cache.
READ A BOOK: HaywardBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
Out for a morning family adventure, and this was our first stop. We might've gone inside, but that would have taken up the whole morning then. Thanks for the cache.
Perseverance Cache in Downtown HaywardBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Yeah, we would have been better nabbing this one while the ambling businessmen were still sleeping... Lots of traffic 'round this corner, too.
Higher Cache in Downtown HaywardBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
We let WalruZ do the honors here as well.
Vision Cache in Downtown HaywardBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
The entourage hung back, since it was obviously signed as private property and the chains on the gates indicated that the public wasn't free to come and go from the area.
Chabot Creek BridgeBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
This was my first visit to Carlos Bee park, although I've heard a lot about it from WalruZ when a troubling multi used to be here. I was quite pleasantly surprised with the area - an awfully nice place to walk with the preschooler. We found the search site, and although there was a guy semi-camped out in that secluded space, he was busy fixing something so we could make the find, trade the swag, and move out of the area to the playground. Thanks for the cache.

Hayward Parks #2: Eldridge ParkBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I was getting a little frustrated, and didn't have my palm with me to get any additional information besides the lat lon and the first 60 characters (2 words) of the "hint" -- which were not of much use without the rest of it. So, Geo Baby and I went to play while WalruZ called lifelines and still got frustrated after a half hour or so of more looking. In the meantime, the soccer players started to arrive and I thought it best to leave and return another day.

Depot's EndBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
I thought the loose pitbull walking the streets was a great touch to the area ambiance (he apparently belonged to the nearby Winnebago resident that was suspiciously eyeing us as we drove down the street). I'm not sure I'd even go as far as to compare this site/hide to the BART series. Its probably safer to cache around any BART parking lot in the system than at this particular location, given all the broken safety glass on the street (okay, well, I haven't done the Richmond station hide yet...).
Hayward Parks #3: Rancho Arroyo ParkBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Geo Baby enjoyed the stop for the swing factor, although she spent some time sampling the slides too. Not too many park patrons this morning -- very odd. thanks for the cache.
Hayward Parks #1: Weekes ParkBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
I was hoping that the library would be open, but then I remembered that none of them have Sunday hours (which I'll never understand, really, a big day for working adults to go to the library with their kids). We enjoyed trading toys in the cache and then had some fun on the playground. thanks.
Mt EdenBy: Baron88 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Quick grab this morning after breakfast -- all the other fields except this one were in use. Yay us.
TanCanBy: Baron88 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Searched like trolls for awhile, as we had not read the description or previous logs beforehand. After tiring of that, Geo Baby and I walked out a bit and serendipitously spotted the nice alternate hide site. Any closer to traffic than that and I would have likely not gone for the smiley with Geo Baby in tow. Thanks.

Run to SunnyvaleBy: geomagguy Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
I felt a little exposed with all the nearby windows, so I went for the hint so as not to arouse the suspicions of the neighbors (I already experienced two drive-bys by one of Mountain View's finest at two different nearby caches, so I didn't want a third cop-spotting), although I figured I'd just step over to the other side if one showed up... Thanks for the cache.
Forever GreenBy: Rocketgirl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Came by and the neighbor across the street seemed concerned that I didn't have a dog with me. Managed to have a conversation and exhaust her interest in me before she moved on and I could return the log book. thanks for the cache.
Never on a SundaeBy: pao_flyers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
My first time here today, the search area was quite crowded with people sitting on just about everything a person could sit on. I moved on to a nearby cache and came back to the area when it was a bit more cleared out. Still needed to call a lifeline so as not to attract attention from people working in the nearby business as they walked in and around. Thanks.
Sylvan ParkBy: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I've been here before, I'm certain of it... Was caching my way back home after a professional development course in Cupertino, so I stopped at this nice little park. Had a nice drive by from Mountain View's finest, my first of two of the day. thanks for the cache.
GeoBeads #9 - Hidden in a Hidden WalkwayBy: zapboy with help from workerofwood Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Took a little bit to spot, and I had to be "preoccupied" by pretending to text on my phone as Mountain View's finest drove by slowly and stared right into the walkway area, but I managed to get it eventually! thanks.
Angler's LodgeBy: irwinSports Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Nice post-lunchtime-meeting find. I don't think I've ever been here before, thanks for the cache to show me the place.
Metson LakeBy: irwinSports Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
I think the bluejay that lives near the cache causes another * of difficulty [:D] -- he was really loud and quite distracting to the search. Eventually I made the "aha" moment and grabbed the cache. thanks!
Got Play?By: Seek2FindMe Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
On the way to a chill family birthday party, so we figured we had time to stop for one. We almost didn't have time for this one, but WalruZ found it eventually. Thanks for the cache.
Coffee Anyone #3By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen
I don't know what it is about this cache, but I've got the worst luck here! This was probably my 5th visit to the location in the last 2 years, but due to my poor timing (yeah, I'm by in the morning a lot), this was only the second time I could actually mount a search. Of course, since I'm a Starbucks fiend, the repeat visits don't particularly bother me. I'm sure this is just one of those situations where a 1* cache hide just becomes invisible to a particular cacher, so at some point I'm probably going to drag WalruZ out here to manhandle the equipment or something for me (while I get myself a latte)...
PONG! Birthplace of an industry.By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
When I was in high school, one of my first jobs was at the appliance store nearby, which seems to have changed names but not sign decor. Back then Rooster T. Feathers had just opened. The little walk down memory lane was appropriate, since I was in the area for a high school reunion, but didn't want to get there too early. I thought this would be a DNF after zeroing out nearby, but then I read the description of t he containers and had another look. Turns out I also needed the hint, as the little arrow wasn't cooperating... Thanks for the cache(s).
SSLLBy: PFAM Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
I saw the search area ('aaaaaaah!') and went straight to the hint, which I only had the first 70 or so characters of, so I was about to leave (given the verbosity and meaning of the first few words of the hint), when I decided to read the full hint in cachemate. Armed with that last set of characters, I found the cache. I had no idea that they turned De Anza elementary into a Stratford school!
Old Fashioned Ice Cream ParlorBy: carolehu Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Yeah, I had a zoo at a birthday party a few times. It was called Farrell's back then. That was even before the Petrini's was nearby, which is apparently now a Smart and Final. Changes. Progress. whatever... Thanks for the cache.
Yet Another Walkway!By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
I had a preconceived notion of the target walkway, so this cache actually took me quite some time to find. I was persistent that it should have been about 180 feet away from zero. After I decided to trust the coords, I found the walkway. Good to know about, too, since this is my dentist's building! Thanks.

My arrow had a hard time deciding what to do here, but I used the hint to narrow the search spots down. Thanks for the cache.
The Brink of InsanityBy: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Out and about today during a lunch break from some "professional development" down the street a ways, and the area didn't look insanely busy so I stopped here and slyly looked around. I kinda knew what my search area was already, given the publicity this cache had when it first came out, so it was just a matter of time before I could spot the right thing to do get the log. Thanks.
TriangleBy: Rocket Girl & DuckeyLee Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
I had a nice time walking around the Las Palmas area caches with allannah and geostarlight, in preparation for attending a high school reunion. This cache has been on my radar for some time, but I've never had the opportunity to stop and actually make the find. I'm always a little self conscious about the traffic, so being with a small group made the difference for me. Thanks.
Element #17By: GeekDad Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
It is a rare weekday that I can stop to find this cache, since I'm usually running late either to or from work as I cross the Dumbarton. WalruZ and I tried for this one a few months ago as a stroller-friendly excursion, but were thwarted by the weekend closure of the parking area. Today I had a meeting in another location, and it seemed really silly to drive all the way up to my worksite afterwards, so I opted to head home and dust off the old VNC connection. On my way, I thought that it might be nice to synthesize some of what my meeting was about with a little "thought walk" (I can justify a stray cache during almost-free time really well), so I chose this little silent walking spot. Cache gave me a nice laugh when I spotted it. I like chlorine, particularly in the summertime when used in a pool in the right amounts. Thanks for putting this one here.
Google FallsBy: MadDad (maintained by bullit) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
I was visiting the Google campus for part of today for a talk, snacks, coffee, lunch, and a meeting, so I thought I'd arrive a bit early and grab a cache or two in an area that normally intimidates me when in full caching persona (as opposed to work persona). What perks they've got here; and what a great intellectual environment! thanks for the cache to put that little sugar coating on a nice workday.
Evil EmpireBy: Stiv Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
I've been here before, but at the time the cache was AWOL. FF to a year or two later, and this morning I had the opportunity to come by before a visit to a different, more internet-y empire in its own right, just down the street. I felt right at home zipping into the parking lot and finding the cache here, although like the last finder I'm running two "alternative" OSes to do my work and internet-time-wasting at the moment. Thanks for the cache!
Under CarriageBy: geo starlight Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
This was our closest to home and after figuring out that I coincidentally know the cache owner, well, we couldn't let this one go unfound for that long! We met for some pre-Thursday recreation and enjoyed visiting this site again. Looks like they're gearing up for the holiday already! thanks for the cache.
North LakeBy: irwinSports Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Apparently I forgot to log this cache, cuz when I was here today (on the 19th), I had signed the log on the 3rd. Memory must be going... Decon container was there and all the stuff inside - either replaced or returned...
Stow LakeBy: irwinSports Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Had some time today while traveling from one job location to another for an after-lunch meeting. I usually take BART/MUNI in, and so can't do much weekday caching, but because of the two-location day today I had the car. I didn't feel the need to eat, but I did feel the need to cache, so I spent my time that way. Thanks for all the new stuff in the park! I hope my work schedule gets a little more sane so that I can take advantage of all the new hides!
Speedy Gonzales HometownBy: CacheClan Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
I've meant to stop here in Gonzales for a few trips now, but today was the day. Interesting little area, but well enough away that we didn't bother the visitors of the residents on this holiday. Thanks for the cache.
Binary Blues - Can you find me "Mr Roberts"?By: Just a short Walk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
First of the day on the way from Cambria back to Monterey. There were a few dog walkers around, but for some reason they seemed to be staring at the ground the whole time instead of wondering what us dogless creatures were doing over there... Thanks.
Binary Blues - Black GoldBy: Just a Short Walk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Interesting little area, so neglected but so intensely drilled... What an odd juxtaposition. Thanks for the cache.
