My Sky BLUE CacheBy: roanq Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular
Had a great hike, and didn't encounter others on the trail until we were headed back to Inspiration Point from here. I guess all the noisy people hike in the afternoon... Dropped a traveling geocoin to entice some locals to make the trek again!
Bird BrainBy: private bones, rangler and johnnycache Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular
We had a nice hike today up to Animas Pond to do some cache maintenance and pick up these two new ones (well, new to us). it was a gorgeous day out there! Thanks.
Highway Sixty-eightBy: roanq Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Second visit. We see that they've put the gates up for the nearby community, as well as lots of discouraging signs if you're coming from the non-highway direction since our last visit. Bummer.
Tree for the ForestBy: Roanq Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Couldn't really figure out where the best place to park was, even the parking coords had me nervous, so we just jumped out there. WalruZ was fixated on the item that seemed to best fit the title and GZ, but I expanded search.
Dead and AliveBy: Roanq Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
We walked down from the free parking area, which was really the only place I was comfortable leaving the car around here. I looked where I was pointing, and then saw that WalruZ was looking elsewhere (with less poison oak), so I gave up on my arrow and went over there. He had it by then. Thanks.
Valet Parking At Jacks PeakBy: X-Ray Tech and Family Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small
I've always wanted to explore the area from the free parking spots at Jack's Peak, so getting here was a lot of fun for me. Unfortunately I ended up hanging out in PO while searching for the cache, since it was about 2 feet away and without any leaves hanging around, well, you get the idea. Hopefully the sticks won't produce enough of a reaction in me to be too uncomfortable next week... Thanks for the cache.
Monterey Home - With a ViewBy: Perk82 - Scottdudester - Joojoobear Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Parked around here for a series of caches in that weird little open space area on the other side of the road, so when I saw this getting closer to my little arrow on the GPSr, I knew where we were going to put the car. Thanks for the cache.
Rory's CacheBy: X-Ray Tech Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
nice little area -- never been here before, but since we had a couple people pass us on the trail, it's not totally unknown (at least to the neighborhood locals, probably). Thanks and congrats on Rory's birth!
Hemlock and PineBy: roanq Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Righted this frownie with our revisit. This time, some nice city workers seemed to have cleared the area substantially, and it was an easy find. Thanks for the cache.
The Hundred Mile CacheBy: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small
We enjoyed our walk around the park today, and after enjoying an apple and the view on a nearby bench in the company of some docile bulls, we headed over to this cache. Geo Baby thanks you for the cache big enough to trade toys! Grabbed the coin to move on. Thanks for being a part of our family hike!
How'd That Get There?By: Markle2k Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small
With Geo Baby done walking up the hill, and safely on my back, we headed over the hill and dale to find the right spot. Then Daddy dropped the cache and watched it roll to where she and I aren't going to go, so we headed back to the trail while WalruZ shimmied on down. Thanks.
Dry Creek Staging AreaBy: Markle2k Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
This was the starting point for a nice loop hike around the ridge with the family. WalruZ had always thought he'd put a cache here, but the semi-early bird gets the worm... Thanks.
MJB Flying HighBy: POLOJr. Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Busy day at the flight school today! Thanks for the cache.
Hayward Parks #2: Eldridge ParkBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
We came here today for a little picnic, playgrounding, and cache-resolution. Thanks for the replacement.
No Longer Cesar ChavezBy: Baron88 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Visited the farmer's market for some later sustenance, and were lucky enough to find the area relatively free of people. WalruZ was kind enough to wait for Geo Baby and I to make our way there from parking before we made the find. [;)]
Swim Ye NotBy: irwinSports Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Had the opportunity to make a quick search at lunch, so I headed to the nearest GGP cache. Been to the other side of Lloyd for the end of an old puzzle long ago, but didn't know about the approach I took today to this place. Nice hide in the most suspicious spot (but certainly not the only one here).
GOODWILL HUNTINGBy: simply lost Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Bit of trouble finding the 'trail' from the car, as the GPSr was reading into a gated community from the Goodwill station. I was mostly scoping out the situation for some type of clear/traditional access, since Geo Baby was with me and I tend to be more careful about what type of adventures I lead her on...
Golf Ball FarmBy: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
So, Geo Baby's riding along in the backpack and content to not get out (getting close to naptime and all), so I thought that we might pass this one up, what with the terrain issues and guggles nearby and all. Then, one of the guggles ganked a golf ball in our direction, so I seized on that opportunity to get the little one interested in retrieving the ball. Found a do-able approach (considering I had 35 extra pounds riding on my back), and we found and returned a golf ball and managed to sneak the cache in as well. All this without disembackpacking! Thanks.
Bike Trail WannabeBy: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
Geo Baby and I passed up the Farm and headed here, since I had just gotten her to run on ahead and burn some energy as we approached the Farm. By the time we made it here, she was in the backpack, energy seemingly vanished... Ah well, this was a nice place to get out of the backpack and sit awhile until getting back in the backpack [^]. It was getting close to lunchtime for all the working folks nearby, so the trail started getting a little busy with lunchtime runs. Thanks!
AYCABTU: One Is the Loneliest NumberBy: Zero Wing Dowbiggin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
What better way to celebrate Columbus and a forced holiday courtesy of Geo Baby's preschool than to hit a few reasonably-nearby caches before naptime! Swapped a ring that says "Phat" (now I know my almost-3-year-old is going on 13) for a cute little finger puppet, then it was off to check out the empty playground. Dropped a TB as well. Thanks.
Road to Nowhere?By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
I was out on a Columbus Day morning walk with Geo Baby, who has the day off of preschool (so I had to burn a day of vacation). We had waffled on being in the backpack and out of the backpack, and by the time we made it from parking at Gold Street to here ( a paltry .15), she had just decided to get in the backpack. You can't imagine how long it took just to walk from the bridge -- what with all the stuff to look at in the yards by the levee (including a very vocal dog). Anyhow, as soon as I said that I saw a cache, well little Miss had to get out of the backpack and check out the toys. We swapped a sunscreen packet for an army man, and dropped a coin that I decided would be better-placed anywhere than held onto for another week. We sat awhile and played with the army man in order to allow the logsheet and ziploc to dry out. Thanks for the cache.
Omo i deBy: TeamMoehrke Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual
Our family started this multi about 2 years ago, before Geo Baby could walk out to the information under her own propelling. We were initially stymied by the stage 4 hour restrictions, and so I made a mental note to finish this off the next time we were visiting our Vacavillian friends. Well, visit after visit I neglected to do my research and it sat unfound. This weekend, I checked out the map and looked up some crucial info about the stage 4 site, and we entered easily and parked near the required info. For future hunters, be aware that only the main cemetary gate is open during the stated 'open' hours. The back gate is always locked. Thanks for a nice visit(s) to Vacaville!

Last one of the no-nap day for Geo Baby, and we did have some fun pawing through the contents here. Thanks for the cache!
Pogo StickBy: runeshower Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Lucky us, we were the last square on the roll (still have the other side, but we thought we'd sign in order). Good thing the bus moved out of the way to give us some time to roll that thing up.
Been Here: East JavaBy: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro
We've now Been Here too, in homage to 50sumtin. It was a great day for a stroll on the levees, and the weather was just right. Stroll on, Bud, stroll on...
The Day The Sky Was QuietBy: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
The three of us left LeChuck to his studying and walked out to enjoy a beautiful baylands day. We saw two airplanes going from SJC on our walk, and lots of ducks flying about. On 9/11/2001, I was living in New Mexico and working at the VA, a year after having moved from a 7 year stint in New York City. I had awoken and started a remote process on my computer in preparation for going in to work at the medical center. It was about 8:30 MST, when I turned on the TV to ch eck the weather and saw the interminable replays of the planes crashing. Soon after, I received a recorded call to not report for work for the next two days while security measures were implemented at the facility. It was a very tense two days in my little apartment, as I had many friends that liv ed in the City and would pass through the WTC metro station in the morning, or worked as Flight Attendants for the airlines affected. I sent a lot of email and made phone calls to touch base. Around Albuquerque, there was still the noise of planes flying, as the fighters from Sandia were not ground ed -- they headed out to the East coast to join the patrols. I returned to New York a year later for a wedding, and made it a point to visit the twin towers location to pay my respects, as it was a pl ace through which I commuted often. I did not personally know anyone who was lost that day, but my heart aches for the families that were blindsided by the dogma and intolerance of others.
Coffee Anyone #3By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen
Uh, yeah, I have no excuse for not finding this the umpetty-teen times I've been here. I was always searching in the wrong area and WalruZ set me straight, if not spoiled me straight... Thanks for the cache (and the many purchases made here over the last few years). WalruZ thanks you for the bonus hot chocolate he earned today.
Bud's BayBy: His Hiking Buddies Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Bud and I connected many different times: face-to-face on group hikes and at cito events, as well as via email about caches that either I or he needed a helping hand with, and on one occasion a hotel recommendation for the Davenport clean-up. He was a pleasure to be around and a positive force, even on a day of DNFs. I rejoice that he lived a life of adventure and activity, with ethics and grace the whole way through. I am sad that his earthly adventures have come to an end and so many of his fellow adventurers will miss him dearly. I wish I had the ability to tell some tales of Bud's wonderful group caching expeditions to the group assembled today, but I was altogether pretty choked up. This was a man who could walk with both the slow group and the fast group. On the same hike. That, indeed, speaks volumes about Bud. I'm glad that we have a cache in this special area to remember him by.
Jane DoeBy: The Saints Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Well, we figured that as long as the preschooler could make the trek up here, we might as well get this cache too! As with Deer John, the cache was already besieged by the faster set in the group, but our trades were made. Thanks for the caches.
Duck,Duck,Goose!By: The Saints Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
We really enjoyed the area -- out taking a little family walk after the memorial service for 50sumtin today. Some trades were made and then we went back to see the ducks again. Thanks for the cache.
Deer John,By: The Saints Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
We were at the preschooler-hiking-end of a small group that ventured this way after the 50sumtin memorial, so the ammo can was out and furious trading was already underway. Thanks for the cache.
