It's OK to play in the middle of this street.By: ClubMCR Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I initially thought that we'd be able to let Geo Baby out, but then saw the site and thought it might draw a little too much attention to our activities. Interesting choice of median design... Swapped travelers. Thanks for the cache.
Welcome to PleasantonBy: ClubMCR Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
WalruZ, Geo Baby and I were toodling around Pleasanton today looking for a cache here and there after our usual Sunday breakfast out. Thanks for the cache.
Oh Tannenbaum, Oh TannenbaumBy: Baron88 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Definitely a weekend hide if there ever was one, although WalruZ seems to think these are mostly vacant around here. Looked reasonably non-for-lease-signaged to me, though... Dropped a traveling coin we picked up on our turkey day visit to Wisconsin. Thanks for the cache!
Almost the End of the RoadBy: Baron88 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
This was actually a very exciting area for WalruZ, as he saw the makings of a nice pathway under construction. We followed it around to see where it would go. Thanks for the cache.

This was a very long but entertaining stop for us, what with Geo Baby along. There's this huge slide that is apparently quite fun, particularly when using the cardboard left nearby. Unfortunately, on the pre-stated "last time down" for Geo Baby, she wiped out at the end and we left with a shiner on her face. Good thing I carry single-use cold packs in the car... Thanks for the cache and playground stop.

Nearest neighbors were out and about, but we managed to do our thing without looking too suspicious. Geo Baby comes in handy for that sort of thing, sometimes, even when she doesn't leave her car seat. Thanks for the cache.

RetirementBy: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Walruz, Geo Baby and I were out and about in Pleasanton, caching around after our usual Sunday breakfast plans. Since we were driving by this area and I had solved the puzzle some time ago (using the answers that most people my mother's age and occupation would give), I figured I should just finish this one off. As we approached the (almost abandoned) site and I figured out where it was, WalruZ figured out that his memory ain't what it used to be. Thanks for the cache.
A Senior MomentBy: N2Books2 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
We had a nice time walking around the area getting the answers. No one around on a Sunday late morning. Thanks for the cache.
WSQ Rockwell Mills CemeteryBy: Mister Greenthumb and Sunshine Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small
WalruZ and I needed to take Geo Baby out from underfoot in the kitchen on the big Turkey day, so we hit a few caches before festivities. I enjoyed looking at the dates on the stones. Thanks for the cache!
WSQ: Hyde CemetaryBy: Bugsmasher69 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
WalruZ, Geo Baby and I needed to get out for some fresh air while everyone else was stressing out in the kitchen before the big meal. This was quite welcome by the cooks, since Geo Baby likes to be a "helper" in the kitchen even when it isn't a special occasion. No one on site today, which kind of surprised me given the holiday and the active state of the cemetary, so we also enjoyed a little walk around the area, thanks!

A nice look at what the WI countryside would look like if not mowed in rows. We were greeted by a ranger on a fun-looking toy (a quad) when just in from the trailhead, and that was an interesting change from our hikes at home, too. Thanks for the physical cache to hunt!

Hanging out in WI with the WalruZ side of the family, and so I was game to brave the dudes walking around in orange with rifles slung over their backs while complaining about seeing no tracks, in order to find a few caches in the snowy landscape. This one seemed like a relatively safe stop for us, what with the roadside nearby and all, so I grabbed my camera and we snapped a few pix. Thanks for the edu-tainment!
I'm King Of The World!By: Jeremy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Not chosen
Mmmm, snowy.... WalruZ and I were visiting family just north of the park for the holiday and decided to pop in for a little hiking. Luckily said family had two extra orange vests for us, because orange was all the rage in this part of the park today. No one seemed to be doing much shooting though, just a lot of standing around waiting for one's buddies, from what I could gather. Anyhow, we enjoyed our walk to the site, and especially the area of the virt. Nice place to sit a while, when there isn't snow on the rocks, I imagine. WalruZ sent on our answers, so as not to be redundant with two emails. Than ks for the virt.

We needed to find someplace to reward Geo Baby for doing all those drive-ups with us, and it looked like our morning was rapidly turning to naptime, so we skipped a few and headed here so that she could burn off some energy the way preschoolers were meant to. Cache was packed full of goodies. Thanks!

I had a meeting on campus at Evans Hall, and so I planned a BART trip with a 30 minute cushion for some caching on the way there (since I'm no dummy -- these data meetings always run later than planned, forcing me to rush wherever I'm supposed to be next with no time for any detours). Thanks for the cache.
Architectura 2: Bear With MeBy: Kilroy Gang Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Ah, the second stop before heading over to Evans Hall and this one was certainly well worth the little detour from the straight line! Loved the simple and clever hide for the area, and particularly the fact that there was no need to get my work clothes in a mess looking in places that might draw attention to myself. Thanks for the cache!

Call Me Butter - I'm On A RollBy: DanielIsHere2, Seek2findme Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
This cache provided a necessary stop for us to do a little cleanup of Geo Baby, who had way too much fun eating a strawberry ice cream cone in the back of the minivan (wearing a white shirt, I might add). This was fortunate, because a very nosy elderly lady was shuffling on by as we were mid-production, and the cover a sticky, pink-covered preschooler provides is worth its angst for the clever geocacher! It gave us time and cover to come and go within different parts of the area, even opening the whole van up to look for a log replacement since WalruZ found the cache in a bit of disarray itself (although no pink stuff on it, thankfully). Thanks for the cache.

A revisit of a DNF for us, since I neglected to read the full description last time I was out here. Now that we knew what we were looking for, WalruZ was of the right stature to locate it quickly. Thanks.
Cribari Winery Water TowerBy: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen
This turned out to be a neat little stop on our way to pick up Geo Baby from a sleepover with her cousins. No one around on a Sunday noontime, except for some passing traffic. WalruZ was psyched to take some photos, and I wondered how different this area really looks now that they've sprouted McMiniMansion neighborhoods here and there... Thanks for the cache.
A Fitting TargetBy: TLHarrell Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I thought a cacher like TLHarrell knew better than to use an anti-hint, but we were mistaken. We looked around the obvious place, then out of principle just about left after doing the decrypt, but ended up looking around somewhere else anyway. Spotted something a little out of place, and had the cache in hand shortly afterwards. Thanks for the cache.

Great Beastern ActivitiesBy: bullit Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small
I hadn't planned on a hike, particularly since I was at home with Geo Baby after she endured a few shots from the doctor, but my American compatriots needed me and I felt obliged to rise to the call. After all, I had a day off because of Veteran's Day (kinda, using my strange logic of getting Tuesday off and thus needing Mond ay off too). Team Ottlet had done a great job deciphering some data I hadn't managed to see, while I was running all sorts of other stuff, and so I felt that I should finally do some real work and retrieve the clue a tout de suite so that activities could continue. Shortly after the solution was put out there, I tried to form a quick posse, donned my hiking boots, loaded up the GPSr, woke the kid from nap early, and headed out to meet KendraH in the afternoon light.
Although Geo Baby insisted on hiking a relatively long way there, we made it to GZ with plenty of light left. However, the danged venona henchman hid our prey pretty well, and we toiled much longer than I thought it would take. Finally we found the clue, tried to take some photos, and then tried even harder to get some cell phone data signal to send them. We were pretty short on light heading back, but luckily going downhill is much faster than going uphill with child on back. We'll catch that dastardly venona yet!
Keeper Of The CacheBy: Nana of summerandnana Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
I was taking a nice hike today to honor our Veterans and the day off that they afforded me, but not Geo Baby. I laughed as I approached the cache site, but like WoW was not afforded the real hilarity until I finished my business with the cache contents! Good thing I availed myself of the potty at the Sierra Azul trailhead before starting the hike! Fun stuff! I left some in-theme swag and captured a little vampire to call my own. TFTC.

Cool little area -- I spent some time looking at the stones that formed what might have been a wall to someone's villa and imagined what it must have been like to live as part of the mountain community there. Thanks for the cache.
It's a GasBy: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
Ahhh, the last cache on a nice Veteran's Day hike, with no extra weight around. My feet were still hurting, though, probably because of that unplanned hike I did from the Hacienda trailhead yesterday... At first I was looking for a container far more evil, but then after scouring in those sorts of spots, I found the nicely-hidden normal-type hide. It was mid-afternoon, and the bicyclists were starting to pop around corners pretty frequently here. Up till then, I hadn't seen a human soul after leaving the trailhead this morning. Thanks for the cache.
Secret Trailhead #16 - Woods RdBy: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
So, after checking out the Sierra Azul parking lot, I headed over here to park the minivan and start the hike. I decided to walk around in circles here a bit before journeying to the trailhead. Plus, it was extra nice to have a waypoint for the cachemobile when I was all done, too! Thanks for the cache.

I saw a couple people around the other trailhead for the Woods Rd. trail, but no one in this direction. I got a laugh out of the cache. Dropped some swag. Thanks.
Cemetery TreesBy: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro
I caught this one on the way back out from Hidalgo cemetery, and I too was curious about what exactly would be up there. So thanks for making me go the distance (I probably would have decided not to attack that hill with the sore quads otherwise). The mark is quite prominent on the Mapsource maps, so you would think that a big trail or a marker would be there, eh? Instead I found two trees of different species out there fornicating right there in the open. I bet that was illegal a couple decades ago. (Hopefully the Yes on 8 people won't get their hands on an axe or anything...) thanks for the cache.
We Dig CemeteriesBy: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro
It's not so much that I dig cemeteries, but I don't mind being around them. I especially don't mind one that is pretty much out of commission, because then I don't have to worry about disturbing the bereaved, or walking over manicured lawns, or kicking over fresh flowers and stuff like that. Heck, I couldn't see much evidence of markers to bereave upon here! Anyhow, this was my goal for the day -- to do Woods Rd all the way out here -- and I achieved it, so I was feeling very accomplished on my day off. My finger strength is apparently not what it used to be, but I managed without my marine mammalian friend here, so that was good. Thanks for the cache(s).
Miner's JunkBy: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular
Found a few interesting things in this cache, including a not-so-nice note in the log from someone complaining about rattlesnakes -- well, duh, go hike in Quicksilver between the end of May and June and the caches are going to all be danger-free! Right. I wish I coulda been there to give the person a clue brick -- if you don't like worrying about snakes, choose a cooler month (like November)!! Sheesh! The miner's junk strewn around the cache site was pretty random, you'd think the parks folk would have cleaned that kind of stuff up when it opened as a park, eh?
Treasure RockBy: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro
So I'm walking up the fire road humming "she's mighty mighty just lettin' it all hang out" when I see this huge natural formation. No, really, so I'm worried about what I'm about to have to do, given that I've pushed my legs to their limits hefting Geo Baby up to some silly venona trick yesterday, and then continuing on with my plans to do a reasonably long day hike on the holiday (that no one else had off). So, I circled the beast, and as I did I noticed the arrow go to zero. Whew, dodged a bullet there...
Tick HouseBy: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro
I just couldn't quite get the tune of "She's a BRICK HOUSE" outta my head as I went for this cache. Found that someone (perhaps a bobcat, or the wind) had tried to evict the ticks, so I put their domicile back together and reinstalled them in an appropriate spot. Thanks for the cache, and the tune in my head.

As I ambled on out to the cache site, things got a little breezy out there, so out the jacket came. It turned out that I spent the next half mile or so taking the jacket on and off and on and off... It was a nice location to sit down and figure out why the next cache appeared to be .24 away, though, since I had some signal there. Got me another cache, that did... Thanks for the cache.
No N.U.T.S. Here!By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small
The cache was pretty out and exposed, if you were heading past that way, anyhow. It was in fine shape though, and I didn't notice any muggle entries on the log. I tried to rehide it in that location a little better, but who knows if I actually accomplished much... Thanks.
500,000 WordsBy: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular
I enjoyed a natural formation in the area to sit and relax while I read the cache description. Not a single person out and about on the trail, despite having seen a couple people walking up the trail at the parking lot. Felt like I was walking around a maze to the cache, but I found my cheese in the end. Thanks!

Assume Nothing #3By: workerofwood Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
So I happened to be in the area, and as I got to this general location (well, I was at the cache just before this one on the way up), I wondered why in tarnation there was a .24 mi gap between that one and the next one in my query. Something just struck me as suspicious there, and so I grabbed the little bit of signal there was over there and found the coords for this cache. Thought I'd not assume anything and go check it out...
Secret Trailhead #14 - Sierra AzulBy: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
My original plan today was to do Mission Peak, getting a few caches found from my home query. But, because of the introduction to Almaden Quicksilver that my impromptu trek to ACTIVITY 5 took me yesterday, I decided to honor our veterans by hiking Woods Rd. today. So, you may ask, why would you be in the Sierra Azul parking lot? Well, that pit potty was a great bonus both before and after my adventure! Thanks for the (this one of many) cache today!
Shady VistaBy: Leeloo & Nasir Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular
The old hams were getting pretty tired by this point, but down and up I went in search of the vista. Neat to see such an oldie surviving so well, although I added a little more kid-friendly swag here from my bag. Didn't seem to be anyone in this particular area of the park today, although I saw a handful of bikers later on the Castillero Trail. Thanks for the cache.
