Levee Bicycling - Ant TreeBy: csolsen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
It was a rather inauspicious start to our family walk today, but walk this stretch of Alameda Creek we did. thanks.
Levee Bicycling - LowryBy: csolsen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Movin' along the creek trail, we finally had Geo Baby interested in trading and not complaining... Thanks for the cache.
Levee Bicycling - Troll bridgeBy: csolsen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Find #3 on a stroller-based family walk along the creek today, thanks!
Levee Bicycling - CypressBy: csolsen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Find #4 along the creek trail today, Geo Baby was doing a fine job walking by this point, and lil'brother had finally fallen asleep in his stroller. Thanks for the cache.
Levee Bicycling - TrainBy: csolsen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Woo Hoo, a real tradin' cache and Geo Baby was in full form with this one -- even braving the grade and coming down to paw through the stuff. Thanks!
Levee Bicycling - Caliban DrBy: csolsen Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
We were almost stymied by this one -- totally drawn into the nearby 1* hide. Even lil'brother woke up to help. Walruz just started his own brand of methodical searching and came up with it. Thanks for the cache.
Levee Bicycling - Stephano CtBy: csolsen Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Looks like it might be possible to access the trail from the residential area, as there was a trailhead marker between Caliban and here with a nice paved path to the street. Some rowdy dogs were running around off-leash which had Geo Baby just a little concerned.
Levee Bicycling - Flint RiverBy: csolsen Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Crossed paths with wander22 and WERDAVE here, nice to meet you! Handed off a traveling coin. Thanks.
Levee Bicycling - Olga St.By: csolsen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Getting toward the end of our family walk, and our little walker was starting to ask about when it was going to end. Our littlest stroller occupant was busy doing something else, which we would discover needed changing asap by the time we reached the next cache...
Levee Bicycling - AlvaradoBy: csolsen Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
There was an empty 40 right next to the cache, so it might be visited by the denizen local to the other side of the bush. That would explain a missing geocoin but intact log and container. Wasn't sure if the smell here was from that person, the sewage treatment plant downwind, or lil'brother's blowout diaper change. Thanks for the series! Only two more legs to go for us...
Soggy MarshBy: C.W. Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
I've been watching this cache for over a month now, so I was pretty sure about what sort of shape we'd find it in. I had held off to give the newbie cache owner some time to do the emergency maintenance on it, but was becoming more and more concerned about all the work fellow GBA members had done to get caching perceived in a good light by the Don Edwards people -- it would be a shame if TPTB found a rusty lunchbox that resembled trash more than a cache in their domain. After a month, with the CO not even signing into the site, I gave up on that and we came to visit it today. Walruz will post a photo of what we found. In good conscience we could not leave it there with an AWOL owner but felt an SBA would be rather harsh, so we replaced it with a small plastic screwtop container that might hold up better here. Kinda shoots the theme, though, sorry. Averaged some new coords in the slightly new location (old location required trampling of protected flora). If you want the rusty and stepped-on lunchbox and the slimy swag inside, PM me and I'll get it to you.

strike two.
No Agua Por FavorBy: frostyspeed Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Wandered around a bit, looking only at the arrow, which turned out to be a reasonably inefficient strategy here. But, after I looked up and around (and spent too much time examining a botella de cerveza that I thought matched the cache title) I spotted the nicely-hidden cache. Thanks.
No Swimming HereBy: frostyspeed Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Got a little windy out there today, but it was still nice to get out and stretch the legs a bit while Grandma watched the younguns. Thanks.
A Little EvilBy: frostyspeed Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
We might have dropped the ball on this one, so to speak. We went and did No Agua Por Favor, since the hint indicated that cache would inform this one, but the only thing that did was indicate that we could still make the find on this one, however that knowledge didn't make any difference when we returned.
VTA 3G: Cropley StationBy: cachbefound Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Ahhh, finally went by a cache I could do with the sleeping children in the car. Thanks!!
I Knew I Should Have Taken the Earlier Train!By: Spinneyman Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Found in the waning daylight -- surprisingly lots of traffic going by for the evening before Turkey day! Nice hide, thanks for the cache.
Middle of NowhereBy: TeamTwinkie Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Doing some cache maintenance nearby, and thought I might need some cache materials, so I stopped by with the kids to peruse the tape section of the nearby big box store. The area of the cache was surprisingly busy with people sitting in their cars/trucks/etc nearby. Had to hang out a bit, which is not difficult with two kids in a minivan... Thanks for the cache.
Elderberry, Too!By: Wood_Rat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
Headed over here from Elderberry 1 and WalruZ and I jumped out and made quick work of it. LeChuck really enjoyed finding the curb in this neighborhood ;)
ElderberryBy: Wood_Rat Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
The Walruz-BuckyD family was out for a little LeChuck driving practice, and what better way to navigate the streets than as cache driver? Wow, this particular area looks like someone's former home. Kablooey must have had a field day with it! Found cache pretty easily and traded some stuff for the kids. Thanks.
Egrets RestBy: Hans57 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
I really like this area -- thanks for the cache!

Birds Eye ViewBy: Hans57 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
Quick find with the family. Cache seems pretty exposed to people and water, but who knows, it just might make it...
M & M's adventure.By: Traelan and BestMinh Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
Wow, bold hide! There were soccer games going on everywhere, so WalruZ and I just milled about and tried to act nonchalant. Decided to read the description, which narrowed things down a bit. I fear this one will be toast the first time the landscapers/gardeners come around. Thanks for the cache.
Park & Cache #5: ArdenwoodBy: dalemac57 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
~9:45 the parking lot was entirely full (except for the reserved spots that also seem to have caution tape wrapped around them), and poor late-commuters were driving around aimlessly looking for the nonexistent open parking spots. I noticed that "Compact" seems to be more of a guideline than a rule here... I left some work processes running via VNC at home, loaded up the kids, dropped the older one off at school, drove through Starbucks to obtain my daily addiction, and came by for a quick, shiny-new cache. Then it was back to the grind with my VNC connection and lil'brother's sleep/eat/diaper schedule. Thanks for an opportunity to break the routine just a little.
Round and round...By: KacheKruw Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
I chose this morning to run out and grab this one, taunting me from less than a mile away from our house and, knowing these roundabouts, thought an early Sunday was the best option. Of the 4 nearest neighbors, 3 were outside at various points during my search before 8 am. Best to get this one while it's still there... Good luck maintaining this one once the neighbors catch on. Coords were way off for me, so I'm adding my 5 minute average from the Colorado. Hopefully I did that right, it was my first time averaging a waypoint on this GPSr.
Just Strolling Along 2By: SkellyCA Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I had the old coords I guess, because I wasn't even in the park where I zeroed... I was pretty much useless, so WalruZ did the honors.
Just Strolling Along 1By: SkellyCA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Lots of garages open this morning.
Up In the ShrubBy: TeamTwinkie Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
WalruZ and I took the kids out and about to get these caches before they disappear, and also to test out our new GPSr configuration for serial drive-bys. This one might last -- I certainly couldn't see it and needed WalruZ to make the find. For some reason, WalruZ had two different sets of coordinates between his two GPSrs, even though they were loaded from the same GSAK database, so he headed across the street before checking the other GPSr. My GPSr was right on the money. Go figure. Just some appropriate strangeness to begin the morning, I guess.
Tribute to 50sumtinBy: TeamTwinkie Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Bud was truly a one-in-a-million person, and a wonderful part of our cacher community. We particularly enjoyed his Santa Cruz-county hiking-oriented caches -- I recommend the Baker's Dozen series through Big Basin, or the Odysseus series if you are feeling adventurous and have some galoshes handy (which I never did get to finish). Mmmm, the loop through Wilder Ranch also captures Bud's spirit as well... My favorite outing with Bud was the hike from Levin to Stanford Trailhead, where he spent time with both the fast and slow hiking groups. That's just the kind of guy he was.
Is this Pho real?By: TeamTwinkie Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Mmmmm, donuts... This was Geo Baby's favorite stop of the day, maybe even lil'brother's too.
Tree of WoeBy: TeamTwinkie Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Woe is always an appropriate feeling when searching in ivy sandwiched in between residences. Needed phone-a-friend -- actually three of them, due to some faulty memories -- to pull this one out.
By The TreesBy: TeamTwinkie Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Quick find once the neighbor closed her garage door. Traded some things for Geo Baby. Thanks for the cache.
PegasusBy: TeamTwinkie Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Wouldn't have been able to get this one without WalruZ with me. Coords were about 50 feet off by my Colorado and WalruZ's two eTrex receivers, which led to a futile search of the most prominent hide location appropriate to the hint before spotting it elsewhere. Posting some alternates that seem to have averaged well, hopefully they'll help others out.
Tennis Anyone?By: TeamTwinkie Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
WalruZ, in a rare stealth-conscious move, tagged out very quickly due to the abundance of employees in the window. I, however, felt no compunction searching away in broad daylight, since the cache is very obviously on listed private property (big sign at the driveway entrance) and so they must know about/approve of it since you asked for permission to place it, right?
Romeo & JulietBy: TeamTwinkie Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Neighbor was out so we improvised with the cachemobile and then headed off for some lunch.
Trees All AroundBy: Hmgrant Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro
On the way from here to there, and had a little time to try out the new-to-me GPSr on a cache hunt. My dad used to live in the apartment complex nearby. I always thought it was really neat with all the water. The cache site was all quiet on a weekday morning, but I imagine that this can be a busy area with the comings and goings on the weekends. Cache was reminiscent of a Joe Spaz hide, and fairly exposed, so I tried to help it out with the natural camo. Thanks for the cache.
Feeling Lucky?By: TeamTwinkie Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Second visit, as this parking lot tends to attract people that just sit in their cars for some reason... Taking out a new (to me) GPSr for a test drive and this was closest drive up to me. I wanted to get my daily coffee fix, but the parking lot over there was all full -- Bally's must be giving away memberships to the unemployed or something. Thanks for the cache.
Stop Your NagleeBy: SRHunters Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Navigation to this one was surprisingly indirect, but we managed to get there. WalruZ sat at the cache site gabbing long enough for Geo Baby to become irritating in her desire to no longer drive around looking for caches. Thanks.
Sans GoldBy: baldmonk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen
WalruZ took his turn, then required mine. I kept some of the actions of previous finders in mind and after a few paces across GZ, had it in hand. Thanks.
Beyond BarbieBy: baldmonk Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Convenient to the airport, and fairly quiet on a Sunday afternoon. Not always what I look for in a cache, but this time it proved to be fortuitous. Thanks.
Friday Night LightsBy: baldmonk Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
Our last stop of the night, and WalruZ' turn to do first honors, which he did quite well. Loved the cache construction, and enjoyed the vibrancy of the neighborhood with both lighted and unlighted games going on. Now for some dinner to quite down the little ones...
