Tree CaperBy: Madman5 (Beckerbuns' son) Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular
lil'brother and I were in the area running an errand and between appointments so I fired up the GPSr to see what we could see. Since it looked like a nice park to stroller around in during nap, we headed here. There weren't too many people using the park today, at least in the morning, so we went for it. Thanks for the cache.

lil'brother and I were in the area doing errands and decided to stop for a stroll around this park. I waited for lil'brother to awake from his nap before all-terraining it in the stroller. I really freaked out a cat in the process -- which was pretty funny at the time. Thanks for the cache.

I have a bit of an interesting story for this one. lil'brother and I were in the area today running an errand before an appointment in downtown SJ. I had a little more than an hour to kill, so I came to this hood to hunt a few baby-friendly caches. As we approached this park, there was no one around at all, so I'm thinking "ah, this'll be a snap" and took lil'brother out in the frontpack. He loves to walk around in the frontpack. Sitting? Not so much. So, I retrieved the cache and proceeded to stroll around while doing the logsheet business in order to keep lil'brother happy. Well, imagine my surprise when I turn around to return the cache and a mom with twin toddlers and a young boy were parked right where I needed to be. Where did they come from? I bid my time swinging lil'brother and even struck up a park conversation with the family, but they weren't moving/leaving and I couldn't get the cache back the way everyone was situated. So, having the appointment downtown, I put the cache on a nearby structure and left (taking coords in case I couldn't return). Luckily I had a little time after our downtown SJ appointment to get back there and put the cache where it belonged, then get back home to Fremont before the rush hour traffi c got nasty. Whew!

Last find of the day and the interpretive center was near enough for the tired members of the party to stop whining. Thanks for the cache!

I was ambling in the back of the pack with the infant hanging off me, so this was found by the time we made the scene. Thanks.
H.R.S #3: Ancient Beauty is a TrollBy: brianweeks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro
This one took a while. Then we had to feed the baby. But the bottles were all in the backpack, which had continued walking. That was inconvenient... Thanks for the cache.

Ants. And lots of them, too. Geo Baby wouldn't go near the crawling mess, and Walruz handed it off to me to do the business part of it all. Funny that.

Had a very nice walk today at HARD with the family. This was our first cache stop (our actual first stop was at the Ghirardelli factory outlet in San Leandro -- go figure). thanks.

That was interesting. Particularly since the ranger truck was cruising around at the time...

Wow, replacement went missing in less than a week. That shouldn't happen that fast. I'll have to rethink this one, lest too many blinkies all end up swirling around in a caching black hole...

I drive right by this cache every time I come to work in the City via car, and although I have known how close it would be to parking, the responsible worker (morning) or parent (evening) in me has never taken the time to stop, get out of the vehicle, and search for the cache. Today I felt like I had done more than my fair share of responsible in recent times on both the worker and the parent front, and so left with enough time to drop by and see what I could find before heading home. Thanks for the cache!
Running through Quarry LakesBy: csolsen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
What a beautiful afternoon for a family walk. After so many rainy weekend days, it felt great to get everyone out to get their sillies out! We hit this one as #2 of 4 on our walk around the lakes today. Somehow, with the kid running around and a baby babbling away in the frontpack, we don't look quite so silly in areas such as this...
Fishing at Quarry LakesBy: csolsen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
So, by this time lil'brother was totally passed out in the frontpack and Geo Baby wasn't sure she wanted to venture around in the grass, so although we technically got the big kid to find the cache, WalruZ still had to retrieve... Oh well, the big win was getting her to walk the entire outing, so I'm happy.

We all tromped out to do the Quarry Lakes caches today. Walruz started out checking all the 1-2* hides, while I pulled out the info in the receiver to reveal a 4* hide. After a while we decided to switch off who was holding the littlest kid and delve deeper into the hint info. We had the old description and logs from dandes/Mighty Casey's DNFs in the Colorado. With the hint, this wasn't difficult, just required a little patience. I actually saw it before I grabbed it -- bit o' wear at the corner... Geo Baby had fun "helping" and playing train on the crescent. Thanks for a fun and challenging family outing, I'm actually glad we didn't have the updated description with us.

A nice end to a great afternoon of family walking and caching in Quarry Lakes. The weather was great and the bigger kid walked the whole way by herself. Thanks for the cache!

Replaced this one last week, guess I forgot to enable it then.
