We took a little post-breakfast family walk in the area today, with this cache in mind as one of our destinations. Thanks for the nice big one with room for trades!
Niles PlazaBy: SkellyCA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
Enjoyed spending some time looking at what they've done to the plaza. Geo Baby thought it was all pretty cool, too. Cache had us stumped for a bit, but we persevered. Then we walked down the block and looked at all the eccentric shops.

Cache is verified as at the coordinates included in the last finder's log -- the last finder very nicely went and checked on the placement today. They may have better coordinates to post later. Thanks! I don't know if this was the issue with the DNF, but please remember that for a cache of "unknown" type, the coordinates at the top of the cache page are not the actual cache coordinates.

I believe the photo in the find log of April 2 is for where that cacher found the cache, not where it was hidden, as the caption hint does not match the encrypted placement hint for the note of April 2. In looking at the map, I can surmise how it was placed given the hint, but will contact the previous cacher for clarification/check.

Cropley CacheBy: Duckeylee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
We had bounced ourselves out at the Great Mall for one of Geo Baby's classmate's 5th birthday, so decided to stop for a few caches on the way, well, to nowhere, really. I had more trouble than I expected here, but WalruZ finally stepped out and gave me a hand... Thanks for the cache.

The House that Boyd and Jill BuiltBy: homermayor Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small
lil'brother and I were in the area to run an errand at the local financial institution, and decided to stroller over from there to find this cache. When we arrived it was out in the open, so we tried to replace it a bit better. As luck would have it, we just managed to get it all done and get back to the path with the stroller as the local toddlers were arriving in their buggy. I got a strange look from the lead care provider, as I jammed the stroller back onto the path (I say jammed because it isn't easy to roll around on tambark, as any wheelchair or stroller-bound person will tell you), but I think she got distracted by lil'brother smiling at her... I guess I should have headed farther along the path to the other cache, but I didn't want to push my luck with my parking spot. TFTC.
Along the De Anza Trail 7 - EmbarcaderoBy: MotorBug (a series by Marky & Joani) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I can't tell you how many times I've been by this cache, sometimes DNFing and othertimes the construction on the nearby residence prevented any sort of a stealthy search. Today lil'brother and I were in the area again, and it looks like that house is finished (at least the outside is, the inside looks rather empty still). Because I'd visited and searched for this one before, so I knew (by process of elimination) where to direct my efforts, so it was a quick find. Thanks!

We weren't trying to get to more than this event that weekend, but the late start time on a Sunday makes us very very iffy, since lil'brother would have to come with us. I'll try and reshuffle things, but we wouldn't be able to stay longer than an hour with him in tow and work/school the next day, regardless.

All quiet on Easter Sunday. We came by here specifically to drop a TB, since the cache was listed as a small, but found a micro instead. TFTC.
Plight of SisyphusBy: Boky Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
We needed a nice big cache to drop a TB or two, and the last one we were at was a micro even though it was impersonating a small on the website. We don't typically do front-yard hides, but I was desperate to move these little guys along and get them some mileage. Walruz gave it a go at first, but like I said, we don't do front yards very comfortably, even with express permission. He tagged out pretty quickly, so I went out with the hint in mind and found the spot. Of course, I had to get WalruZ back out to Sisyphus the thing... While he was out there, it seemed that a guy was wandering around. Wasn't sure if that was the CO or someone we should avoid, so we did the latter. Thanks for the nice big cache convenient to the freeway to drop the bugs!

WalruZ went out to do the honors, but got spooked by the fence and the FAA and all the related paranoia. After he tagged out, I was able to grab the cache nearer to where the arrow was pointing. Thanks for the cache.

We grabbed this one on the way back to 101 from a hike in Pinnacles. There were a couple of spanish-language band buses nearby, but I think we made the grab without drawing too much attention to ourselves. Sounded like a party goin' on nearby, too. Funny sounds for just outside the cemetery gates...

Our first pass by was unsuccessful because some skate dudes were hanging out at GZ. We went to find another cache and then drove by to see if they had left -- Yay, they had! We pulled in and used the cachemobile to block the view of the boyz at the hotel. I got to finish my Evil Happy Star while WalruZ did the dirty work. Thanks.

Talus Cave - Pinnacles NMBy: TerryDad2 - adopted by Mauison Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Not chosen
We brought far more gear than we needed for this one -- the water inside wasn't even up to the soles of my boots! I was glad for the flashlights, though. It was a little iffy getting through some of those spots with lil'brother on my back in the pack, but we managed okay. He can be a real trooper when novelty and a group of interesting faces are involved! I don't think I would have attempted this one without the support of the larger group and the help of Walruz with my slightly-off balance self on the way down. Thanks for the experience and the associated smiley!

Awesome day for the hike! We too saw three intrepid climbers doing their Machete ridge thing. Crazy stuff! The coords seemed to be about 350 feet off, so we had to backtrack from GZ to marker #11. Including some coords to help future earthcachers, or if the CO wants to update...
Split Volcano - Pinnacles NM West EarthcacheBy: TerryDad2 - adopted by Mauison Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen
Out with the GBA group on a gorgeous day in Pinnacles. When we got to the coordinates, we were a little confused since there weren't any plaques there. We passed the ones at the trailhead and another one about halfway to the caves, so I'm thinking that the info to compare was the stuff on those plaques and sent the required info along. There are some great views of the High Peaks from this little valley. Thanks for the earthcache!

WalruZ, lil'brother and I hiked the caves from the west entrance, and then split off from the group after this cache and headed back to the car via the cliffs trail. It was a fabulous date for a hike in Pinnacles and we really enjoyed it. Thanks so much for the virtual!
Doofy's Shaded ViewBy: doofy1313 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular
Today was a day for me to get out and walk, weather be damned, so that's what I did. I had been hiking in North Garin, but things seemed to be turning and the remaining caches I had there were on the ridge (not a good place to be when a storm is blowing in), so I got back to the trailhead and in the car to look for other interesting places to find caches. This walkway was a very nice alternative. It was sprinkling a little, but the houses seemed to shield a bit of the wind current, and the hawks were really having a good time utilizing this. With all the tree cover, you kinda have to eenie meanie miny mo to decide which tree to look around, but it was all that better of a workout since I chose the wrong tree to look at first. Thanks for the cache.
Doofy's Rock 'n' ViewBy: doofy1313 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular
I got to GZ and looked at all the pretty plants around the Rock(s) 'n' took in the spectacular view, then decided to read all the information at my disposal before having an unpleasant exchange with the foliage. Luckily a previous log indicated that the CO was not sadistic in his hide styles, and so another pass around the area allowed me to hone in on the (pretty much sole) non-puncture-inducing spot. Great location! Thanks for the cache.
Kenna's Nooks & Crannie's #5By: dalemac57 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small
Had a nice little Friday morning hike in North Garin before the weather turned too unpleasant. It looks like it will be a banner year for the poison oak this spring -- the stalks are happily making their way onto the trails now with all the recent rains. The cache was reasonably far from the PO, but of course I decided to start my search between little sprigs elsewhere. Go figure. I anticipated this common lapse in judgment while caching, though, and left the Technu in a convenient place when I got home, so we'll see. I don't know how you deal with this stuff on Kenna's fur; I know I'd freak out trying to keep the dog out of the nasty stuff on walks. Thanks for the cache!

Deer ParkBy: Shazam Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular
I needed a mental health hiking day (or half-day, as it were), so today I cashed in the Cesar Chavez day from last Friday (which I worked right through) and headed out to do a hike after dropping the infant off at daycare. This was my warm-up stop on the way to the Zeile Creek entrance, and early enough in the morning that the weather hadn't turned yet. At first I thought it was muggled, since a few items near GZ had been put in disarray, but I found the cache safe and sound nearby. Thanks for showing me this very nice little park!
Creek ViewBy: CompuCash Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular
Wasn't watching what I was messing with as I went to retrieve the cache, so it looks like I'll be relying on the Technu scrub today. I was a little perplexed at whatever happened to the logbook, with all the signed papers ripped out but still in the baggie. Someone had enjoyed drawing their favorite 5 leafed plant on one of the ripped sheets, and I resisted the urge to draw my 3-leafed nemesis below it. I signed one of the intact sheets in the logbook and tried to rehide just a little better than found, since I think some (probably harmless) muggles have got its number...
Fungus HumungusBy: CompuCash Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Small
Cache is a little damp, but everything is holding up okay. I have never been in this part of Garin before, and aside from the expected lushness of the new crop of PO on the trails coming in (and onward to the other caches in this portion of the park), it was really a very nice walk -- pretty and serene this morning. Thanks for the cache.
Cars? In Trees?By: UPSgirl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular
Awesome spot, came in from the Zeile Creek trailhead by way of a few other caches, then inadvertently found the other part of the loop back to the trailhead from here. I was really glad I didn't have any of the kids with me -- tons o' glass (I should probably have expected that, hunh?). Cache was in great shape and I enjoyed the extra exercise/push to get to the cache. This was my last cache in Garin today, unfortunately, because it was starting to look like the weather was going to turn nasty and the ridgeline is just not the place you wanna be when a storm starts blowin' in. Thanks for the cache.
JALQUIN VISTABy: squints Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular
Awesome little spot, and even better since a great old cache was there to find! My hike in North Garin was cut short today because things were getting a little too windy, presaging the wet to come, so I was looking around for some interesting things to see in this new-to-me neighborhood. I always love it when the great oldies are still there and going strong in a nice location. I wouldn't mind a house like these, either. Well, maybe it would be a little too big to clean, but something smaller with the same views would work for me...
Danny's Songs Won't StopBy: Seek2FindMe and StarPop Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen
I wandered around a little, sorta scared that I was pushing the private property issue since a lot of old farmer-looking guys in pickups were driving by and definitely looking at me standing by the car off to the side of the road. I had lil'brother in the car with me and so my cover tends to involve rummaging around in the back seat by the car seat. That seems to work. In between traffic, I re-adjusted my search thinking and finally saw the cache. Having been a mom for almost 5 years now, I have a greater appreciation for the emotion of parents (and grandparents) when their kids are hurt. I can't even watch those crime dramas when they involve a kidnapping or kid-based crime anymore. I can't imagine surviving the initial gut-wrench when that call came -- but I'm sure you find a way to stay strong for the young one. I'm glad to hear that it all turned out, even though the future isn't quite turning out as initially imagined. Best of luck in the continuing recovery to Danny, and here's to learning how to keep those songs going one way or another.
Farming Up CloseBy: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
I had lil'brother with me today on a Gilroy Grandma pass-off of Geo Baby, so I was doing some drive-ups afterwards to make the drive down more "profitable", so to speak. The last cacher must have replaced this one in such a way that the natural way of "looking" for this sort of hide proved to be quite upsetting. Luckily I had several keyhiders in the back of the cachemobile and was a ble to replace the cache with a logsheet, because I certainly don't have the kind of armspan for retrieval, and apparently I'm fresh out of cachemobile rare earth magnets (although I did have some twine and duct tape, as every good cacher carries)... Replaced at the perpendicular surface from which I found it, which should at least lessen the chance that the next cacher to swoop by will knock it into oblivion as I did. Thanks for the cache...

You ain't kidding about the loitering folks on the other side of that fence. They're like stealth muggles... Found the cache surreptitiously, hung out at the car some more, then snuck back over to replace. It helps to fool with the baby in the backseat for minutes on end in order to shake the interest of non-working workers at the nearby industrial park. Thanks for the cache.
