Scooct Erhet

By: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Saw the cache title and knew what it was all about. Today would have been Bud's birthday -- Happy Birthday 50sumtin.

Hayward Stratford - Lilliputian Park

By: Team Destiny Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I thought this was a really nice park, and had no idea the flatlands had neighborhoods like this. The cache, well, at our visit it ended up being pretty evil -- coords off under trees with tons of bushes and spittin' distance from the neighbors (and their barking dog) with park patrons making loops around and hints about blinkers in the description. Stealth-wise, things are was easier for us with the almost-5 year old in tow, looking for sticks, but I had to dispatch her to the playground when I smelled all the dog leavings there. As it was, WalruZ ended up with a shoe-ful that stank up the car for the rest of our trip around Hayward today.

Hayward - RUUS Park

By: Team Destiny Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

When we got here, the parties were just about to start. Odd to see a Hayward pocket park with a restroom. TFTC.

Cubby Hole

By: SkellyCa Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Wow, interesting area, complete with rooster sound effects and wandering dog. Some of the teeny houses here are so well maintained and give nice folksy contrast to the McBoxes that they built just on the other side of the retaining wall you see while driving in. Quick find for me, or maybe I was just lucky and looked in the right place first.

Greenway No More!

By: brianweeks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

No, this definitely isn't the Greenway anymore -- looks like a thistle farm behind those big gates! TFTC.

Arf Creek

By: brianweeks Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

I found this one pretty quickly, after WalruZ was sure that it was something else. I love the street name!

Hayward Greenway: IVY EVIL

By: brianweeks Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I'm no fan of ivy, but this was not quite as evil as where we had been , and for that I was thankful! Thanks!

The CIGAR TUBE in the Sky

By: brianweeks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We all enjoyed the walk to this one, well except maybe Geo Baby who thought it was a bit too windy to be out caching. The sun was shining brightly, though, so I was happy! There was a pickup soccer game nearby and the area was nice and clean. Thanks for the caches along this (much nicer) part of the greenway.

Cache Me 2

By: Paloma/Nevels Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was the last stop on our mini-caching day, since we knew that the playground here would be a big draw for Geo Baby. Bundled up against the wind and headed over to the now-familiar grove. Great park for a cache, thanks.

Element #26

By: GeekDad Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Came by today in honor of the recent announcement (and because the area will probably be under a bigger spotlight in months to come). It is certainly good news for all the businesses in this neighborhood, cuz there ain't much else here to help them along. Thanks for the cache.

FEDORA 18

By: REDHAT18 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Visited with the family, lots of trading ensued. I think it was 3-out-3-in for Geo Baby. Thanks for the cache.

Popo Cache 2

By: squashyo Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Remembered this trailhead from the caches round here years back. Nice hide for the area.

Popo's Cache

By: squashyo Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

We had a nice little walk, although the stroller can only get lil'brother so far around here. Geo Baby was wearing the wrong type of leggings for this terrain, so she also had to hang back and let Dad do the thistle-work...

A Figment of the Imagination

By: driftwood1229, r4ndOm, glistar, and evillic Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Had a bit of an issue with the raspberry thorns hidden amongst the ivy, but after finding the cache it was all good. Geo Baby enjoyed trading swag. Thanks.

Kenna's Oyster Bay Easy

By: dalemac57 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We had come by here before handling Evil, but a muggle was enjoying the area. So, after hitting Evil we were glad to have this Easy find (since we were there so long the muggle had long gone). What a neat installation!

Kenna's Oyster Bay Wild Thing

By: dalemac57 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Pulled out the description here, in the face of so much search space, and then it was an easy find (for cloversmom, I was encumbered by the big baby on my back). Thanks for the cache.

Kenna's Oyster Bay Hangout

By: dalemac57 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

Aside from the wind, which I liked but lil'brother wasn't fond of, this was a very nice spot for a hangout! Thanks for the cache.

Kenna's Oyster Bay Airport Lookout

By: dalemac57 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Interesting area, what with blooming iceplant and all right in the middle of the regular greenery found out here. Strange stuff. Anyhow, it was a little tough footing with lil'brother riding on back, but with cloversmom to the rescue we could manage to find the cache! Thanks for the caching destination on a beautiful afternoon!

Kenna's Oyster Bay Evil

By: dalemac57 Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Yeah, we were here for quite a while, and not only because lil'brother decided he was hungry, either. Finally a few clues from phone-a-friend scpet helped us to persist. Even after discovering the cache, there were problems getting to the logsheet, but cloversmom was crafty, prepared, and persistent with that as well. TFTC.

Kenna's Oyster Bay Trailhead Cache

By: dalemac57 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

lil'brother and I were taking a nice walk today with our friend Cloversmom, and this was our first cache. It's always nice to have a trailhead cache to point to, both when heading to the park and when you need to get back to the car! Thanks!

Kenna's Favorite Target

By: dalemac57 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Fun stuff! As we walked up (from the wrong direction, but that's pretty normal for me), I was worried about a nearby blanket under one of the trees, but if there is a resident in this area, he was out enjoying the great weather today!

Oyster Bay

By: kusanagi Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Awesome spot for a cache! I had to get cloversmom's help on final search and retrival, though, since lil'brother is still too young to wage any caching battles with me. Soon, my young jedi cacher, soon...

Ancient Cliff Dwellings

By: sammydee Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

This one turned out to be a pretty easy find on the trip!

Meadow's Edge

By: sammydee Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

WalruZ, lil'brother and I ended up getting to this one far after the group since lil'brother needed to drink a snack. We managed to catch up to Geo Baby and her escort before the next one, but we never quite made it to the rest of the class. This one had been covered quite nicely by the previous visitors, but we still managed to spot it quickly.

The First One's a Doozy

By: sammydee Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

This was a convenient location to apply sunscreen and munch on the oft-mentioned oreo snack that Geo Baby wanted to bring. Thanks!

Welcome to Mummy Mountain

By: sammydee Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Welcome, indeed! Thanks for all the caches on this excellent new trail -- who can resist a trail called Mummy Mountain!?!

Get The Rocks Off

By: Geokashers and zeppelin_fan Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

We were far enough behind the original itinerary that it wasn't a big deal to hit a few extra that weren't on the class route. Thanks.

Such Foolishness AKA Pig Sty

By: Valoha Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Loved the camoflage! Thanks for the nice big one -- lots of trading went on here!

Mende Benchmark Rest

By: RKOwen Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

If you aren't into benchmarks, the view more than makes up for it! Thanks for the cache.

Curt's Volunteer Cache

By: RKOwen Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I loved this nice shady spot -- and it was also fun playing ISPY with all the tools. Thanks.

The Cache That Broke The Tree's Back

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

We'd pretty much been caching by waypoint the whole day, but for this one the size and description and prior logs were called up from the trusty CO. Thanks!

You'll Need Skull To Find This Cache

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

Lil'brother and I went straight to this one. I guess the other class participants had scared off all the bugs by the time we rolled around this way, because things were quite pleasant there. Thanks for the cache.

Fools Cache In

By: Seek2FindMe Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Not chosen

We were trailing the pack during the class (might've had something to do with lil'brother riding on my back), so it was unclear if the cache was out, back or what when we walked up. Mad pawing through the swag ensued, and Geo Baby traded something, but I didn't keep track of her trading on this trip. Thanks for the cache.

In Memory of the N7383A Passengers

By: RKOwen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Interesting that they didn't mow a short single track to the site, it's quite overgrown (except for the stamped-down herbage around the benches from all the geocachers' visits, that is). I noticed a hitchhiker waving his ticky arms on my shirtsleeve after visiting this site.

Mendoza Ranch Secret Trailhead

By: RKOwen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with the group on a very nice day for a geocaching class. I always like the trailhead caches, since then you can use that instead of marking the car to find your way back!

"Right Wrongs Nobody"

By: Atomsoup Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

We were out on a Mother's Day numbers run (because I got to choose and the kids could just go stuff it as far as I was concerned). We ended up all the way out here, and WalruZ (since he had time to run his query this morning) had this in his GPSr. What the hey -- the baby needed a bottle anyway, so we hung out and calculated for a while, looking for where the problem in the multi's math could be. I really liked the hide location, and lil'brother loved walking in the breeze (we were between rains) after downing his lunch. Thanks!

Stately Ca$he

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

What better way to spend Mother's Day than jalopying around Alviso in our tent-on-wheels minivan (complete with whiny kids in the back) picking up numbers? Thanks for adding to Hogwild's series!

Diamonds, Not Ca$he

By: Oaknest Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Any ca$he is fine with me. I'm just easy that way, I guess. This was one of our finds on a Mother's Day cache run between raindrops. Thanks!

The Lonely Orchard

By: Atomsoup Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Had Geo Baby looking at the flowers and snails (it had just been raining, so they were out in force) as cover, but I just couldn't bring myself to look where I needed to in the sporadic foot traffic. When that happens, I always tag out to the WalruZ, who has no problems doing strange things for caches in front of muggles. He was right on it. Thanks.

iCache - Milpitas

By: CarlottaP Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This was the last of the day on a Mother's Day numbers run, with the kids getting whinier and whinier in the back of the minivan -- good thing the golden arches were nearby to placate them! Thanks for the cache.

A Rose by Any Other Name...

By: Oaknest Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I'll pass on the inhale deeply, thanks!

Spreckles Hill

By: Oaknest Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Nice to have an addition to our Mother's Day numbers run through Alviso. WalruZ had a little trouble spotting it, but then again he was looking in the wrong place, so I jumped out and made the find.

Ca$he in a Pipe

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

I ambled on over to find the cache, but on replacement the attachment failed so I had to jimmy up a better way of holding it where it needs to be. It's all good, though, and probably less prone to fail again. Thanks.

Ca$he in the Dirt

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Once my device settled itself down, I spied what I needed to see. Thanks.

Fi$shing for Ca$he

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

WalruZ went and did the honors on this one -- wouldn't want to be too greedy even though it is Mother's Day. Thanks.

Ca$he Down a Drain

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I have notoriously bad luck with this kind of hide, and have had to replace more than one out of the gear in the back of the cachemobile throughout my caching career, but I managed to retrieve this one without making a splash (and it would have been a big splash, the way it was raining on and off this morning). Thanks.

First Time Ca$he

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Well, we thought this would be a good area to cache in on a Sunday morning, but frankly it isn't. We did it anyway, since Mother's Day plans included packing the kids in the minivan (essentially a tent on wheels with the center seats removed) and jalopying around for the day. I sent WalruZ out to do this one, since I don't like crowds ;)

Jubilee Ca$he

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Geo Baby and I followed around a chicken and a rooster that apparently call this area home. Pretty fun! Thanks.

Low Hanging Ca$he

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Without the explicit directions, that could have taken a while. Thanks.

Ca$he Out

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

WalruZ has confused this one with Ca$he Up, but that's easy to do in this series. I was wondering why there were cars parked right here on a Sunday, but I couldn't tell what business this actually was from the building. Oh well.

Ca$he Up

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I went out and spied where the cache likely was, but needed WalruZ for retrieval. Window washers were nearby and took an interest. Thanks.

What Ca$he?

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This one was positioned in between active services, so we felt lucky to have easy parking and quick retrieval and replacement. thanks.

Nifty Ca$he

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Ah yes, the show was going on in full swing over here. I sent WalruZ out again because of that crowd thing I've got and since I had done the last one. Thanks.

Easy Ca$he

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We skipped over this one on our first time by, since it appeared that the parking lot was full in anticipation of the show. After spending a couple hours hitting the old Alviso area caches we returned to find a nice place to park and an easy muggle-free find. Thanks!

Fast Ca$he

By: Hogwild Stuff Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Mmmm, numbers run to celebrate Mother's Day. Good stuff. This was the 4th of the day for me, since we started picking up a few here and there on the way here from Hobee's brunch. Thanks for the cache.

Taco Truck Tribute

By: TheRodds Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

That was odd -- first it was hidden, then I came back around and it was displaced and noticeable. Strange vibrations afoot in Alviso!

Take a Small Walk

By: Baron88 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Downright short that walk was. Thanks!

Raised Nuts

By: baldmonk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Why of course when asked what I wanted to do on Mother's Day, caching was the first answer (breakfast was a close second, though). This was our first stop after fueling up at Hobee's nearby. Thanks!

A Walk Down Memory Lane

By: Lanny3k Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was our second stop after fueling up at Hobee's nearby -- of course when asked what I wanted to do on Mother's Day, caching was the first answer (breakfast was a close second)! I had to look twice for the cache, even though I was certain where it was.

Cashews

By: Tonton-Ca (adopted by OneAngryPuppy) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Well of course I'm gonna wanna go on a Mother's Day numbers run, right? So, we packed up the young'uns and ignored all protesting from the back seat and went jalopying around Alviso today. I liked the hide, even though WalruZ had intimidated me by telling me all sorts of things that it absolutely was not. That's what happens when your previous finder found the cache 4 years ago! Beer can, what? Hey, speaking of beer, didn't bullit used to have a cache around here?

~~Monarch Land~~

By: cvfamily4 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Wow, parking's tight around this side of the sanctuary! Always love visiting though, thanks for the cache.

Big Gray Whale

By: cvfamily4 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We had fun here looking at the refurb'd structure nearby, on which we used to have a cache. lil'brother particularly enjoyed his frontpack ride in the sunshine. Thanks for the cache.

Esplanade Vista

By: SRHunters Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Ah yes, we haven't been here since Pinky B's departure from the area. Very nice hide. Thanks for the cache.

10 Years! (Monterey, California)

By: Central Coast Geocachers of California Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

We had a great time talking with people, both familiar and unfamiliar. We were even surprised that lil'brother granted us an extra hour to socialize before crankiness set in. Thanks so much to Touchtone and the whole Eagle family for hosting a great event!

Happy Little Cache - PG

By: ErikTrese Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

It was a happy little find this afternoon with WalruZ and lil'brother on a short trip around PG. What great weather today! Thanks.

Back Door Condo

By: 4-bugs Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

That's one cute little roundabouty-like thing. Thanks for showing us the place!

No water here!

By: Samm99 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I saw water, but I don't think that's exactly what the CO meant... Thanks for the cache.

BGCMC #1

By: robtheduck Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We came over to find this one while we were waiting for our pizza to be done. I was glad that it was Saturday, because it seems like a schoolday hunt would be a bad idea here...

Wall Art

By: mInImIm Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Wow, it sure gets loud there! We didn't spot it right away, which had me doubting where we were looking, but the coords seemed pretty good to me once we actually found the cache.

School of Rock

By: ISM Cachers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

When we got to the area, I immediately wished we had made Geo Baby come along. Found cache fairly exposed and so added some natural camo when we replaced it. Thanks!
