Ross Creek Combing IIBy: Vaudesir Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen
I wasn't sure we were going to make it in time for the opening festivities, since a certain lollygagging little person woke up late this morning, but we got there in the nick of time and we even found some trash to haul out! The plums, water, and cookies were a nice touch (although I think Geo Baby helped herself to more than her fair share of cookies when we weren't looking - Nazgul seems to have some indirect evidence of this in one of his photos). Then it was off to some food and a playground for us. Thanks for organizing our adoption and maintenance of this area.
Earth Day Morning 2008 CITO at Panther BeachBy: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Not chosen
We had a really good time doing the CITO as a family. I accompanied Geo Baby while we looked for "paper" and "water bottles". While she was looking for those items, I also removed many many pieces of broken glass from the sand, as well as some expended bottle rockets and a sock. Our bag wasn't that big or full, but we did our part. I don't think Geo Baby was quite old enough to understand the environmental implications of the event, but she especially enjoyed the challenge of hiking down to and back up from the beach. She was quite proud of herself. Thanks for the Earth Day celebration!
Oakland Creek to Bay Day 2007By: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen
Geo Baby and I joined the "under 12s" litter patrol with Bellatrix and Anna. We made it about an hour or so before we had to turn back to GZ (and, more importantly, away from the street we were near). There was also a little interlude from our trash collection as we went by the playground. We bumped into the better half of TeamAlamo with LeChuck on their way to picnic on the nice lunch items provided to the larger group. After a while, most of the GBA cleanup crew joined us at the tables. A very nice CITO, thanks!
RESOLUTIONBy: Touchstone and el Jim Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other
We had a great time seeing the back country of Ft. Ord from a different vantage point than we normally have. The raffle turned out to be quite the windfall for the family, and then we took a few hours and managed to get a handfull of caches in hard-to-reach places (in our typical form of backcountry transportation). It was a fabulous, educational, and fun family outing for us today! TFTE!

That'll be three weekends in a row that Grandma gets to see Geo Baby. Well, I guess I'd better check with her first, eh? Hopefully we won't see the inside of CHOMP during this event...
Natividad Creek Park CITO - FREE GEOCOIN!By: Central Coast Geocachers of California (CCGC) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen
Had a great time at this event -- my first ever CITO! I was surprised at how easy it was to do the work with the Baby in tow, how many little geocachers were eager to trash out, and how much trash we could accumulate from one path in the park?!? Meeting some new faces from the CCGC-GBA regions was just another perk, as was satisfying my final requirement for the coin quest. Thanks for a fun morning in Salinas!
