For the conversion-impaired, I've added the otter's GPS coords as a waypoint to this log.

Cache is verified as at the coordinates included in the last finder's log -- the last finder very nicely went and checked on the placement today. They may have better coordinates to post later. Thanks! I don't know if this was the issue with the DNF, but please remember that for a cache of "unknown" type, the coordinates at the top of the cache page are not the actual cache coordinates.

I believe the photo in the find log of April 2 is for where that cacher found the cache, not where it was hidden, as the caption hint does not match the encrypted placement hint for the note of April 2. In looking at the map, I can surmise how it was placed given the hint, but will contact the previous cacher for clarification/check.

Logging the cache must've slipped my mind...

Just in case anyone was wondering, the owner is actively maintaining this cache. I don't update the posted coords because that isn't how the cache was originally set up (read description). If were at the posted coords, it wouldn't really be a mystery/puzzle cache.

Anyone? Anyone? Although I got no help from the CO, it would be bad form for me to FTF this...
Puzzle cache for kids (Milpitas)By: UPSgirl Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Large
I made my best effort to get Geo Baby to solve this one, but the abstract reasoning was just a little beyond her. Maybe next year, when she starts elementary school and she needs to pass encrypted notes below the Kindergarten teacher's radar... Nice cache for trading, and we contributed a few things for a red ruler that Geo Baby really enjoyed! Thanks for the cache.
The Unofficial Puzzle ChallengeBy: candcfamily Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro
I typically only look at puzzles when their posted coords (or some other form of information, mostly via social engineering) indicates that I'll likely be walking by a little box during a planned outing. We planned to hang in Baylands park today, so I gave this one a look. I made it to the point that most others probably did sans hint, and then read the hint and thought "well, duh". I was already there and doing a bunch of really complimicated things that were totally off-target. After exhausting the ideas from both Geo Baby and Walruz, I had to extend the help outside the household. Turned out a previous finder was on FB chat and could give me a little nudge and fairly soon I felt I could enter something into the checker. This was funny because I had recently solved a puzzle with just this type of encoding and should have seen it immediately -- but unfortunately I was trying to "see" something else at first. I was a bit disappointed that finding the cache wasn't going to fit with the plans, but as it turned out it was too cold/rainy this morning to take the kids out for a long walk, so we drove around instead. Thanks for the puzzle.

Would the next finder please try to get the cache within the boundaries? Pleasant Hill is still a little far from its 10 mile radius around Nob Hill (and a little far from my roaming area for me to go get it soon). Thanks.

Thanks for checking candcfamily -- saves me one more stop on tomorrow's rainy day maintenance run!
A Digital PuzzleBy: zapboy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small
We had a nice crew out to do a little wimpy hiking this morning, and this was our first stop. The log was quite wet, but we managed to scratch in our names without ripping the paper (much). Thanks for the fun puzzle!
RetirementBy: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro
Walruz, Geo Baby and I were out and about in Pleasanton, caching around after our usual Sunday breakfast plans. Since we were driving by this area and I had solved the puzzle some time ago (using the answers that most people my mother's age and occupation would give), I figured I should just finish this one off. As we approached the (almost abandoned) site and I figured out where it was, WalruZ figured out that his memory ain't what it used to be. Thanks for the cache.
Great Beastern ActivitiesBy: bullit Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small
I hadn't planned on a hike, particularly since I was at home with Geo Baby after she endured a few shots from the doctor, but my American compatriots needed me and I felt obliged to rise to the call. After all, I had a day off because of Veteran's Day (kinda, using my strange logic of getting Tuesday off and thus needing Mond ay off too). Team Ottlet had done a great job deciphering some data I hadn't managed to see, while I was running all sorts of other stuff, and so I felt that I should finally do some real work and retrieve the clue a tout de suite so that activities could continue. Shortly after the solution was put out there, I tried to form a quick posse, donned my hiking boots, loaded up the GPSr, woke the kid from nap early, and headed out to meet KendraH in the afternoon light.
Although Geo Baby insisted on hiking a relatively long way there, we made it to GZ with plenty of light left. However, the danged venona henchman hid our prey pretty well, and we toiled much longer than I thought it would take. Finally we found the clue, tried to take some photos, and then tried even harder to get some cell phone data signal to send them. We were pretty short on light heading back, but luckily going downhill is much faster than going uphill with child on back. We'll catch that dastardly venona yet!

What better way to celebrate Columbus and a forced holiday courtesy of Geo Baby's preschool than to hit a few reasonably-nearby caches before naptime! Swapped a ring that says "Phat" (now I know my almost-3-year-old is going on 13) for a cute little finger puppet, then it was off to check out the empty playground. Dropped a TB as well. Thanks.
Fly... MARS ROVER (Cache is now IN TRANSIT!)By: mtn-man Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Other
Geo Baby and I visited the uber-new cache close to our house tonight after work and daycare, and found the Rover too! Love them two-fers... Geo Baby will be moving it tomorrow with the help of Daddy, as I am stuck developing professionally all day (yes, on a Saturday, ugh).
Don't Move My Cache! The Helpful Cacher Story.By: Geokashers Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small
WalruZ had been all irked that we must have walked right by this cache last month on our southward Jack's Peak journey, so we detoured from the northern loop today to pick it up. Thanks!

After having some lunch, the cache decided to hang out in a shady spot and look at the baseball park from afar.

It seemed like a great location to go after picking Geo Baby up from school, so off we went. Will place this tomorrow, likely much more northerly...

WalruZ and I were hanging around the area, letting Geo Baby enjoy some Gramma time without those annoying parents hanging around the house. Found this one pretty quickly after a pedestrian passed out of eyesight.

Luckily Dowbiggin was in our wagon for the event today, and she happened to have this solved and in her GPSr. Not that the clutch of cachers already on site wouldn't have clued us in to the location or anything... Getting a few logs this weekend? Thanks!
