Almost Home

By: The Owl and The Pussycat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

My GPSr was not pointing me to the right place, but given a few minutes of uniterrupted search time, I was eventually able to find it. Fun series! MJP303

Egrets' Enigma

By: The Owl and The Pussycat Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

2nd visit did the trick. The first time, I was looking right at it and not seeing it. Nice hide. MJP303

The Cat's Other Hat

By: TBD & D, SUPERflamingo, and GeoBeags Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

FTF!!! 6pm. I swung by the park on the way home. While searching for the cache I found a plastic fork, two pens, and a piece of Easter chocolate (still wrapped!). Fortunately, I didn't have to touch any of that stuff [:D]. Long arms are a definite advantage [;)]. TNLN. TFTC. MJP303

It's Easy To Be Organized...

By: beck1980 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

FTF!!! 8pm. I was nervous about this one, since I've never found one of beck's caches. Thanks for placing one I managed to find. Environs amazingly busy for a Sunday night. TFTC. MJP303

Border Patrol #3

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Tough to do on a warm Sunday afternoon. Fortunately I had my family for cover, and didn't attract too much attention wandering all over the park. After getting wet in the creek, dirty on the playground (kids, not me), and finding a cache (me, not kids), we all left satisfied. Thanks, MJP303

Point of Light - Palo Alto Tower of Mystery

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I found it quickly, probably because the heat of the sun had caused the camo to wilt a little. I did my best to restore it though. MJP303

Built for 3

By: bthomas (Maintained by kindredlaugh) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Most everyone on a bike along Foothill looked pretty hot and tired today. MJP303

Marble Madness

By: cth+js Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

[I had trouble driving to this cache, then I was worried when I noticed that a lot of pruning had taken place recently. Finally, after a bit of looking, it just jumped out at me.] I realize now that the previous finders didn't do a good job matching it to the hint, as it was above eye level for me, and I'm 6'4". [TFTC. MJP303]

Border Patrol #1

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I had no problem finding the cache this afternoon. It must have been nap time. TFTC. MJP303

Shark Fin Slough

By: The Owl and The Pussycat Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Like Mom's wild ride, a very nice walk. There were plenty of families out for an evening stroll. I was momentarily distracted by the nearby geocaching "crop circles" [;)], but quickly zeroed in on the true location. TFTC. MJP303

Mom's Wild Ride

By: The Owl and The Pussycat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

What a nice view! It took me a bit longer to find this cache than I expected from the single star rating, but that's only because I kept getting interrupted by people walking along the path: Lunchtime hunting here will require more stealth. TFTC. MJP303

Klein Park

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

A quick grab in a light drizzle: No one around right now. TFTC. MJP303

Walkway Number Seven

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I was puzzling over this one when 10 year old Claire walked up, reached past me, and said, "What's this Dad?". Of course, there was nothing much more to say...except "Thanks for saving your old man another 20 minutes of agravation!" Very nice hide. MJP303

Cards are us

By: PhilippeGPS (Maintained by MotorBug) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

The rain was really coming down when we found this cache. There is a really nice Harry Potter card game in the bag (too big for the tupperware). If there's a lot of water, it's going to get ruined. Hopefully someone will trade for it soon. Thanks, MJP303

Another Walk in the Park

By: forman (adopted by budd-rdc) Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I came by this cache about a week ago after dark. No luck then, but found it today with better light. Nice camo. TFTC. MJP303

The Little Easy

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

We swung by for this one after Walkway. I've never seen a cache waterproofed in just that way! TFTC. MJP303

Don't mess with the Army

By: Jim and Jeanette Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

We found it just before the rain came, timing our snatch and drop between parents pushing strollers. Good thing my boys weren't along, they would have wanted to empty the cache out. Thanks, MJP303

Tube It!

By: 3BBoys Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

A bit of rain today must have kept the crowds away. We puzzled over this one way too long; after figuring it out, had one of those "Well, duh!" moments. Very nicely done. MJP303

Redwood Preserve

By: PhilippeGPS (Maintained by MotorBug) Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I liked this park a lot. Walking through the redwoods, we didn't notice that the rain had started up again. In the last few feet to the cache however...give this cache an extra terrain star if it's wet! Thanks, MJP303

Whisman Station

$80 Million Later...

By: Equinox 2002 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

We came at it from across the field. All front pages of the log book have been written on, so I just found an empty back side. TNLN. MJP303

To Be Continued

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I'm basically a lazy cacher, so when I discover that I walked further to a find than I really had to, it iritates me. In my own defense though, this cache is located in what must be the Bermuda triangle of the south bay: 85 -- 237 -- 101. Very confusing. Thanks, MJP303

Wizard Walnut Huller

By: rib Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Just us and the groundskeeper on this rainy day. I'm kinda suprised he hasn't noticed this cache. Then again, he's probably in on the secret. Cool place. Awesome oak tree. TFTC. MJP303

Cookie can

By: Neomack Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

FTF!!! 12pm [:D] Thanks for bringing me back to this beautiful canyon. I was here for Taylor-made last fall; it's nice to see everything so green. Because of the tree cover, proximity, and difficulty rating of the cache, I thought for a minute that it would be located in another spot. However, I spotted the cache in a different place from about 50 feet away. The grab required a bit of manuevering. TN (because there wasn't anything!) LN (because I didn't have anything anyway!) Lucky Penny V

By: Tommy Trojan Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Ted (4) found the cache and got the lucky penny. There was a lot of complaining from the other 3 kids. Some lucky pennies appeared as if by magic down in Baker. [;)] MJP303

Li'l Stickers

By: cyan_blue, cortneyofeden and emmett_the_sane Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

FTF!!! 11:45am After signing the cache log, I stood up to enjoy the view (first things first, after all!), and noticed suspicious neighbor eyeing me. This went on for at least 3 minutes, during which time I talked on my GPSr and used my cell phone as binoculars. He was willing me to move, and I wasn't budging. Finally his nerve broke, and I claimed victory. TFTC; TNLN. MJP303

TROJAN TRAVELER III - Treasures In Baker

By: Tommy Trojan Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Thanks for the opportunity to stretch our legs. Maggie (7) found it, and earned the right to take a lucky penny. Everyone else had to settle for a penny from the ashtray. MJP303

Are We Still NOT There

By: Zarniwoop, Howie Sauce, and Scooter Trash Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

Well, the trade quality has gone down a bit, but, after leaving one of their own trip toys, everyone under the age of 10 in the car came away satisfied. Thanks, MJP303

By: Jim and Jeanette Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Quiet on a Friday evening. MJP303

Forgotten Plaza

By: sammydee Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Preoccupied with my search, I walked up on a man sitting quietly on a bench in the dark. I held my ground, and he left. After circling the area, I found the cache. Thanks, MJP303

Sci-Fi & Fantasy Book Cache

By: artadams & belrose (adopted by Streetwalker1) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I took a stroll up the path at sunset. After nosing about for a few minutes, I found it high and dry. TFTC; TNLN. MJP303

Sights & Sounds

By: WhipArtist Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

STF @ 6pm. When this cache first appeared, I knew I had visited the vicinity before. Coming straight from work, I didn't have a trade item, so just enjoyed the drive and the hunt. A group of mountain bikers were loading up their gear, but paid no attention to me. BTW, that retrieval device isn't necessary: Anyone who is squimish about going after this cache doesn't deserve to find it, IMHO. Thanks, MJP303

Meadows Media Swap

By: dw Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I REALLY enjoyed this hike. Starting out from the parking lot at about 6:30pm made things a bit rushed before dark. I wish I had left more time to enjoy the adventure. After finding the cache, I discovered that it was a bit damp inside. Unfortunately, my shirt was not much use as a towel since I had pushed up the trail so hard! TNLN. Thanks, MJP303

Except Alice

By: Steve, Maggie, & Beemer Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Picked this one up while going after a couple of media swap caches nearby. Thanks, MJP303

Sitting Off The Fence

By: GoofyLink & bjohanso Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Thanks for showing me this park. One thing's for certain, place a cache, and people will make a trail to it. MJP303

Francisco's Hideaway

By: homermayor Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Thanks for the after-work stroll and cache. Thirty years ago I used to ride my bike on this trail. It hasn't changed a bit. TNLN. MJP303

Dish Walk

By: homermayor Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

A nice walk, but I was nearly run over by a car flying down the road like a bat out of hell. I was hoping to see woodpeckers, given all the evidence of their presence. TFTC; TNLN. MJP303

Flyway Reststop II

By: Mr. Ranger/Team Shadow Cat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

SFT @ 5:15pm. Unlike digitalfish, I couldn't leave work immediately. My kids love to come to the nearby duck pond. BTW, that's an impressive attachment device! MJP303

Dr. Mahoney Baloney

By: DrHugAlot Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I found it on my second visit. A very creative hide. Thanks for the fun (and inspiration!) MJP303

CalTrain - Hillsdale

By: normanb Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Unbeknownst to me, I was shadowing Piso and Finn on this cache. Evidently Finn found it; fortunately I arrived just in time to write in the log. The area around the first waypoint is pretty cool, I'll have to come back for dinner some time. Thanks, MJP303

Play Ball!

By: SUPERflamingo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I retrieved this cache no problem, but replacing it was a struggle. After signing the log at the picnic table, I went to return the cache. There was a father and son playing catch in the driveway, and the son was about 15 feet away. I thought I could approach through the bushes and put the cache back out of the father's line of sight. Just as I was doing this, the son missed the ball, and it rolled down the path just a few feet from where I was. I think I startled him pretty good as he ran by. [:O]

Deciding that discression is the better part of valor, I went to lunch. [:I] When I got back, they were gone.

Thanks for the laugh. MJP303

Milagra Ridge View

Still a bit hazy, but the wind was dying down. Great view! MJP303

Secret Sign

By: TBD & D Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

After sneaking back behind the bushes to maintain cover, I found the ammo box. Unfortunately, there was no ordinance. That turned out to be okay though, since the junior cadets were having trouble launching their hovercraft, and weren't a threat to anyone. Agent MJP303. Over and out.

Old One

By: jef Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

A very nice hike. The wind was howling up on top, but all was calm at the cache. I dropped off the compass TB, who will feel right at home next to the ocean. MJP303

Hail a Cab!

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I came to find this cache after having dinner at Pisces in Burlingame. After getting 4 scallops and a 1/4 cup of spinich for 20 bucks, I was wishing I'd eaten here instead. MJP303
