Whale Gate Cache

By: enfuego Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

A Memorial Day outing for the whole family. We found the cache quickly, and the kids traded (and re-traded!). After that, we decended to the beach, but left before everyone got completely soaked. On the way back to the car, we watched the seals through the telescope. A great adventure. Thanks, MJP303

'B' Is For Beachhead

By: Buxley Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

A Memorial Day outing. The beach near the parking lot was packed, and the opportunity to play in the creek where it empties into the ocean was too tempting for most of us. That left me to make the trek alone. The people on the beach quickly thinned out, but as luck would have it there was one guy who had set up camp not 100' from the cache. Fortunately, he was sound asleep, and I did nothing to disturb him. Left a few items, but took nothing except a picture. There are 18 pictures left on the camera. MJP303

Ingvar Kamprad's Pride & Joy

By: Beckerbuns, Nurse Dave & Boyz Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Plenty of activity around this cache on a Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, most eyes were looking at the jets in the air-show to the east. TFTC. MJP303

Shopping by Numbers

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Maggie (7) and I solved this puzzle and found the cache together. Clue #6 really had us perplexed for a while. T: Tattoo; L: Gel pen. Thanks, MJP303

Big Worm-Gear Needed

By: digitalfish Difficulty: 4.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

First off, let me say that this was a really nice hide. After finding this cache, I understand what you mean when you say "It's not in the plants". However, this phrase is just plain deceptive. There are plants above, below, to the left, and to the right of the cache. I suggest you edit your cache description. I'll bet if you take that one phrase o ut, the cache goes back to two stars.

It was nice to meet Yar!Yar! and darrenk13. Sorry I tormented you guys by making you wait while I signed the log at my car.

MAYA'S TIME

By: Rain734 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

After getting a course correction from the cache owner, we found it pretty quickly. Thanks. That clock had my head spinning. [;)] Just as we finished signing the log, several loud booms suprised us. It turns out there was a pep rally for the baseball team tonight with fireworks. A nice treat! Took the TB. mjp303

Travel Bugs Rock

By: homermayor Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

We found this one in the dark. Fortunately the glow from the backlight of my GPSr was enough to count clues and reveal the final resting spot of the ammo box, since we didn't have a flashlight. Thanks for the adventure. TNLNSL. MJP303

Menlo Park Rest Stop

By: ChrissySkyking + Blaze (adopted by CaliSeaSta Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

8pm. A beautiful evening for a quick stroll through the park. We attracted the attention of a homeless lady walking her dog and her cat! After explaining geocaching and that there really wasn't anything of monetary value to be found, she quickly lost interest. TFTC. MJP303

The Rosek Triangle

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The PG E crew was long gone, having removed any danger to the powerline. They had been replaced with a commercial tree service crew who had been given the task of taking the rest of that monster down. As I passed by, it looked like the tree was winning. There must have been 6 inches of sawdust at the base of the tree, and the crew still had another 12' of trunk to go. MJP303

Along the De Anza Trail 2 - CHP

I left a hand-print. That's it. MJP303

Big Canyon

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I never knew that there was a trail on this side of Brittan. Tree cover made satellite reception spotty, but in the end there was only one logical hiding place. TNLNSL. MJP303

Eaton's Other End

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Starting out from the street, I walked right by the homeowner, who was talking on her phone in the driveway. Being a master at ignoring people who walk through her yard, she practiced on me. During the hike, my old poison oak patches were throbing somewhat, and some even got a bit blotchy, but I took care to stay on the trail. TFTC. MJP303

Eaton Again

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I read the clue first, and that caused me to think that the cache would be in a different location. Thanks for the suprise! MJP303
