Kid Cache

By: ScienceBean Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

[:D]FTF!!![:D] 5:45p Thanks for bringing me back to this park. There used to be a cache over on the north side, and I remember it well because I got my first really bad case of PO while searching for it [:O]. Fortunately there's nothing to worry about around this one. Under cover of the trees, the GPSr signal was a bit touchy, but I perservered and made the find. What a well stocked container. I was pleased to notice that you have quite a few assistant cache-keepers ScienceBean. That's cool! Thanks for placing a great cache, and welcome to Geocaching! mjp303

Gazebo

By: Shores Scout, originally by fishdude Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

[:D]FTF!!![:D]@6:40p Ahhh...the feel of a blank log sheet beneath my pen...[;)] I approached this search systematically, and only after finding the cache did I look at the clue. Frankly, I think you guys are being a little hard on Mr. Fishdude, although true to his devious nature, he has done nothing to stop you from tripping over your own assumptions. Alas, I'm afraid I've said too much. Thanks for the fun and the rubber fish. mjp303

Hastings Tot Lot

By: NavySparksandtheMrs Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

2TF @ 7:55am. The fog this morning gave the canyon a peaceful stillness that I really enjoyed. The green hippo lawn ornament up by the playground really cracked me up. I left a WJTB, and signed the log. Thanks! mjp303

Jane Doe

By: The Saints Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Just like its brother cache, we found this one with a group of about 20. I waited 5 minutes to sign the log book.[:O] The kids pawed over the swag, and approximately 50% of our goodie bag was swapped out. Good times! Thanks, mjp303

Duck,Duck,Goose!

By: The Saints Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Our timing on this one made it an unassisted search. SMILIE Maggie (8) made the grab for the group. TFTC. mjp303

Venor Infernus Sempervirons

By: Kealia & Hula Bum Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

Thanks for a great event. Good food, converstation and company. The kids loved the dueling trebuchets! Thanks! mjp303

JCF

By: Sgt Stitches Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Wonderful stroll through the redwoods. You'd think that docent would have been curious after awhile. TFTC. mjp303

Deer John,

By: The Saints Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

A little after the event adventure. That WJTB the Saints gave us ended up here. Thanks! It really should stay in the immediate area for a while. [8D] The kids had loads of fun tracking this one down, lots of trading occurred. A perfect family cache. Thanks! mjp303

Sag Ponds on the San Andreas Fault

By: workerofwood adopted by Bootdisk Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

We detoured from our journey to the Roaring Camp picnic event to find this cache. It was a beautiful place to hike on a pleasantly cool and windy day. The kids enjoyed exploring the trail, but were a bit underwhelmed when we actually found the 'pond' [;)]. TFTC. mjp303

Bridge Mind Bender

By: Kealia Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Not too tricky. We were sorely tempted to go for a swim like a bunch of other folks were doing. Unfortunately, we didn't have our swim suits. The train arrived while we were closeby. Cool. TFTC. mjp303

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

#3 on my loop through the park for a second time. Warm sun and cool breezes made my visit really pleasant. Thanks. mjp303

Tonyon Bench

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Back for a 2nd swing through the park: #1 on my loop. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful. Thanks.

Back for a second swing through the park: #2 on my loop. I found it pretty quickly. Thanks.

Beacon, Light My Way

By: Shores Scout, originally by fishdude and zizi Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

The best way to get me to come out and play is to hide a new cache somewhere within 5 miles of my backyard. [;)] Actually, I'm looking forward to Fishdude's next creation because I know it'll have me guessing. [:P] Hopefully he'll come out and play again. [:D]

Nefertiti's Pyramid

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Even having all of the information, and correctly assembling the puzzle (very cool by the way! Maggie insisted on doing it all by herself), this was still quite a challenging cache to find. I appreciated the encouragement I found shortly before the container itself. [;)] Maggie traded for a keychain this time, and I traded for the benchmark token since it was new to me. Thanks for a great series! mjp303

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Throne

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Hopefully there weren't any PETA members around, cuz we had a ball tormenting the cows. Our objective was to touch one, but they're suprisingly quick and nimble when it's required. Oh, we found the cache, too, but spent a few misdirected minutes trying to follow the instructions on the cache paper right at that spot. Nothing doing. Duh. mjp303

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Underworld

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

A cool spot! What a majestic old oak tree. Thanks. mjp303

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Shrine

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This one was tough for us: Lots of prickly weeds and branches to stumble over. Eventually we found it, and Maggie traded for another bead, which made up for any temporary discomfort. TFTC. mjp303

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Viper

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

We passed M J who were headed back down the trail close to this cache. They pointed out to us that we'd missed the 'Offerings' cache, and provided the necessary information. Maggie made the find on this one, and we enjoyed our little creek-side adventure. mjp303

Nefertiti's Pyramid: King Tut

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Maggie was starting to drag a bit at this point, so I sent her down to the bench by the pond to eat a snack. After about 5 minutes, I went back to check on her. Whew! an amazing transformation! TFTC. mjp303

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Royal Gates

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Maggie (8) and I decided to attempt this series. After poking around in some more typical hiding places, we discovered this cleverly hidden cache. Maggie realized that there were beads available for trade, and was quite excited for the opportunity. Thanks! mjp303

Nefertiti's Pyramid: Offerings

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Even though we'd already finished the final puzzle, I still wanted the smilie for this one, so we detoured to get it on the way out. Thanks! mjp303

Tamarack Gate

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Have a Ball

By: boulter Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I reached this cache just at sunset. The storm clouds were clearing and the light was fantastic. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera. [:(] In any case, the air was clear and the views were great! Thanks, mjp303

Aw, Nuts!

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I dispaired to find this cache in the dark, even with a flashlight. Fortunately my fears weren't realized. Thanks, mjp303

Baylands Cache & Carry

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I found a spot that looked suspiciously like there used to be a cache there, but no cache. Then again, maybe I missed it in the dark. mjp303

Dusk, drizzle, deserted. Fortunately, no spider webs. SMILIE TFTC. mjp303

Home Run!

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This cache was a bit tougher in the long shadows of the flood lights. Eventually I stopped chasing the arrow and found it in a logical, but shadowy spot. I think I might have distracted some of the folks on the other side of the fence. mjp303

Beacon, Light My Way

By: Shores Scout, originally by fishdude and zizi Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

9:30p 2TF. I walked the 246 feet from my front door to this cache and still wasn't first, meeting Eagle81 and ShoresScouts who had just found it, on the way. (It was very nice to meet you and congratulations on the FTF!) As far as the cache itself and the supposedly 'incorrect' coordinates, what can I say? Not much, except that puzzle caches are the accepted venue for this sort of trickery. Deliberately giving incorrect coordinates in a traditional cache is considered bad form. It actually would have been a pretty cool puzzle: Call it Mirror Image, tell people the cache isn't located at the posted coords, but that they need to visit them to get clues to the actual location...or something like that. Oh well, maybe next time. mjp303

Circle of Technology

By: vaccine Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

5:30p It's a bit past the gardening hour, and everybody else appears eager to put a little distance between themselves and and nearby offices, resulting in a straightforward search and find for me. I peeked into the canyon below and thought to myself, 'There's got to be a trail down there.' Twisted, very twisted. Thanks, mjp303

Touch the Twilight (Night Cache)

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

Thanks for creating a really fun adventure. [:D] As I write this the next morning, the kids are sleeping in late, so it must have worn them out pretty good, too! The lights of the city were beautiful to look at, and we enjoyed listening to the cows mooing their goodnights to each other. The course is in good shape, and after finding the final location, we noted that a YJTB and unactivated USA geocoin are still there for the taking. TFTC. mjp303

Pillars of Stone

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Whew we made it! I was more nervous than a cat in a room full of rocking chairs walking along that stretch of road...in the fog...with two 5-year olds. mjp303

Razorback Ridge

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

John, Ted and I found this cache on the way to a campout at the beach. Okay, so we took the long way! [;)] The fog was settling fast, and by the time we got back to the car it was more like a rain storm. A little trading occured; thanks for a nicely stocked box. mjp303

Mindego Trail Cache

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Passed a park ranger in his truck at the trailhead. At first I thought he was watching us, but then, as soon as he started up the hill, two mountain bikers came zipping out of the fog from the other direction and nearly ran us over. That's who he was looking for! Ah, the cat and mouse life of a park ranger. TFTC. mjp303

Hidden Canyon Hideaway

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

7pm FTF!!! Thanks for another excuse to visit this beautiful park. The trail map and markers are a welcome addition, and I made a mental note of several tucked away trailheads for future trips. [;)] It took me a few minutes to find the nicely concealed cache, and had to keep reminding myself that it was, as mentioned on the cache page, hidden close to the trail. A quartet of mountain bikers startled me while I was writing in the log book. They don't make too much noise going uphill! I took the YJTB and left, appropriately enough, a rubber snake. The other TBs I had with me just wouldn't fit. [:(] TFTC. mjp303

By: nlrw Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

After some encouragement from the cache owner (who narrowed the search area down from ± 20 ft to about ± 2 ft for me), I found the cache easily. Now I've visited this area at both low and high tide, I realize each has its own interesting features. Thanks. mjp303

Assume Nothing #8

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

As I was approaching, Team Alamo came running up and told me not to look. So I spent a few minutes watching the firefighters mop up across the creek. Eventually bthomas and stbk concluded it was not possible to rehide cache, so they let me sign the log. Despite the damage, very nice. I can say with confidence I would have gotten it anyway. [;)] A 9-1-1 call was made to a cache paramedic, who arrived on scene shortly to fix things up. TFTC. mjp303

This was my second visit after a DNF last fall. There is construction going on at the trailhead: It's more than just a home since there are at least 5 buildings going up.
