Happy Valentine's Day

By: gumbyandeddy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I found it in the rain this morning. No cops and no tennis players, but a lone park worker in the distance. TFTC. mjp303

Happy Valentine's Day

By: gumbyandeddy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Cop on a cell phone right in front of the garden. No time to wait him out. grrrr.

A View of Henry Ford's Behind

By: gumbyandeddy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I searched for awhile with another cacher, Right Turn Only. (Nice to meet you!) We zeroed out in the back corner, but had no luck. If it's on the ground, there's plenty of hiding places, and a hint would be appreciated. I don't think it's on the fence. We ignored all the suspicious Mom stares. I'll come with the kids next time. Nice park!

Historical Stanford

By: Rain734 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

After reading through all the logs, I guess I don't feel too bad about a DNF on this cache. It sure was frustrating while I was searching though.

I Lost My Marbles

By: DKAK Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Crawburr and I were chatting, and realized that we were on the wrong trail. A quick little bushwhack through the tall wet grass led us to a geotrail, and shortly thereafter the cache. I had 2 marbles to trade, but one was the same as the others in the container, so I only left the one. TFTC. mjp303

Thanks for the geocaching putty! mjp303

And Again

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Thanks for recycling this trail! I seem to remember another long-gone cache that was hidden not far from here. mjp303

Ling The Lang/Buzzcocks II

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I was starting to despair...and suddenly, there it was, hidden just like you said it would be. Thanks! mjp303

Stroller Friendly #4: That's not my diaper!

By: Geo Baby Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Bike friendly too! Thanks for the rest-stop. mjp303

Pheasant Roost

By: geekster Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

As I rode up, herbk was rooting around. We continued to search for a few minutes, and then found it closeby. Great to meet other cachers in the field! Thanks. mjp303

Baylands Trail Junction

By: geekster Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Nice spot to birdwatch...and sign the logsheet. Thanks! mjp303

Palo Alto Baylands - Top of the Hill

Stale PQ. [:(]

Almost Natural

By: Rocket Girl and DuckeyLee Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I stopped by on my way to a bicycle tour of the baylands. Lots of traffic, but I perservered. Nicely hidden! mjp303

Pheasant Run

By: Bright Shining Stars (maintained by MotorBug) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

First stop on my bicycle tour of the baylands. With beautiful weather, the duck pond was hopping. Everyone hurried off to their destination and paid me no mind. TFTC. mjp303

See Clearly

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I was suprised with the size of this cache, and I loved watching the wading birds hunting in the low tide mud. TFTC. mjp303

Plant Invasion

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Lotsa people walking the trail; pretending to adjust the brakes on my bike allowed me to get down at the right angle to snag the cache without looking suspicious. TFTC. mjp303

Almost Eden

By: mjp303 (adopted by niraD) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I replaced the container with one that shouldn't worry anyone. Lots of trimming and pruning since my last visit, so I attempted to provide a little extra cover for the cache.

Come Again

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The turn-around point for my bicycle ride this lovely afternoon in the baylands. Thanks for luring me out! mjp303

Feb 10, 2006

Hillside Maze

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Third time is the charm, I guess! Teamed up with NavySparks and vaccine which helped a lot. Nicely hidden. Thanks for showing me this corner of the park! mjp303 February 8: Strike 2! Well, now guess I don't have darkness as an excuse. Since the cache area is really quite non-descript, the hint wasn't much help. Sigh.

February 7: I followed the owners instruction (subsequently deleted), and slowly moved until I zeroed out. EPE was ±12 feet, meaning (in theory) that I had approximately 100 square feet to search. No dice. Probably it was just too dark. The hint, which I didn't have, would have been helpful. In any case, the view was spectacular, and I loved the trail. Thanks! mjp303

Upper Middle Trailhead - Belmont OS

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

My GPSr zeroed out at another suspicious spot, so I risked life and limb and stuck my hand in there to search around. No luck, and fortunately, no worse for wear, I moved on and finally had success. TFTC. mjp303

Almost Eden

By: mjp303 (adopted by niraD) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

niradw, your points are well taken. Those scary words *should* be covered up. I guess I'm just used to them by now, and didn't think twice. I'm pretty sure there was a stash note when I placed the cache, but perhaps it has gone missing. I'll take care of things in the near future. Welcome to geocaching! mjp303

Pirate Creek

By: DuckeyLee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Hopefully we left this cache in better shape than we found it. mjp303

The way before the Bridges...

By: howeler Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Funny how time passes a spot by...some age gracefully, others, well...have more of a struggle. Thanks for a nice big cache in an urban location. mjp303

Calle Oriente Park

By: howeler Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Every park needs a cache. Thanks! mjp303

Selwyn Park

By: howeler Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

We had the park to ourselves, which was a good thing since a fine-tooth comb search was required. Eventually the work was done. Thanks! mjp303

Berryessa Creek Bus Stop

By: airshadowshow Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

There were several possible hiding spots, and geekster and I timidly searched. Fortunately, bthomas chose wisely and the cache was quickly in hand. mjp303

Knights Bridge Cache

By: airshadowshow Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

geekster eventaully found this cache, but the find was made quite a bit more difficult by debris left when a tree was cut down recently. TFTC. mjp303

leaf something in Sinnott Park

By: howeler Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This one seemed just a bit too brazen. Hopefully it lasts! mjp303

Milpitas or San Jose?

By: EricsBrat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Somehow which city I was in seemed to be less important than whether or not the people on the other side of the fence would notice us. Thanks. mjp303

hey look.. a rock

By: howeler Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I agree, this is one of those 'what *were* they thinking?' spots TFTC. mjp303

Station 19

By: wrenshaw Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Yes, I'm not too ashamed to say that I was the one who overlooked it. In fact, I put my hand right on the cache, picked it up, and quickly pronounced it the genuine article. Whoops! [:I] mjp303

Flying Solo V.P.

By: Rocket Girl and DuckeyLee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Last one of the day! Whew, it's finally over. Tiring, but fun. TFTC. mjp303

Lost Basket ball 1/2 Court

By: howeler Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I was completely bamboozled on this one. After searching for a bit, I had settled on a particular object, and couldn't seem to stop trying to figure out how it related to the cache. It turns out there was no relationship at all. Just a plain old red herring. Meanwhile the others got the job done. Thanks. mjp303

Bridge over Berryessa

By: howeler Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I was quite proud of myself for coming up with this cache. Adjustment from vertical to horizontal thinking did the trick. Lots of people out walking and bike riding, but no one paid any attention to us. TFTC. mjp303

in the middle of everything

By: howeler & Mira Jade Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Lots of people out for a trip to the nearby bakery (or was it a coffee shop?), but the cell phone store was locked up tight. Too bad, it's always fun to meet other cachers. Nice window cling! TFTC. mjp303

Weather Vane

By: Rocket Girl and DuckeyLee Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

RG DL: Prepare for an onslaught of email! The first on our daylong Milpitas marathon. Thanks! mjp303

The Age of Aquarius

By: The Blossom Drive Gang Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I was still poking around when I realized that vaccine had finished signing the log. Group caching is the best! TFTC. mjp303

UNO JUNIPER

By: Rocket Girl and DuckeyLee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Quick find. Wow, it's turned out to be a beautiful day! Warm winter sunshine streamed in as we signed the log. TFTC. mjp303

Target Too

By: Rocket Girl and DuckeyLee Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Still trying to finish my lunch, I decided to act as lookout on this cache. A couple of teenage girls in daddy's Navigator decided geekster, vaccine, and bthomas looked pretty funny...and I guess I have to agree. Does anybody know what that switch is for? mjp303

Twister

By: Duckey Lee and Rocket Girl Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Very nicely done! Although he'll probably deny it, I don't think it was a purposeful action on vaccine's part that let to the discovery of this cache! He was just plum tired out and decided to rest his hand for a second. [;)] mjp303

Dear Bowler, P.S.

By: DuckeyLee and Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Thanks for the smilie! mjp303

Eggs and beer. What an interesting combination! TFTC. mjp303

Holly's Cache

By: Team feline Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

We must have looked like gophers popping up and down in those bushes. Persistence paid off. mjp303

Brooktree

By: DuckeyLee and Rocket Girl Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

It was getting dark, and I was getting cold. The others were more persistent. Nice camo! mjp303

Duckey

By: Duckey Lee and Rocket Girl Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I enjoyed the soothing waterfall and interesting architecture. TFTC. mjp303

Full of It

By: Duckeylee and Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I searched a couple of really obvious spots, and then noticed geekster motioning me to look a little further out. By the time I turned around, vaccine had it in hand. TFTC. mjp303

In Around the Park

By: Kenny162 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Although we knew exactly where to look, the cache was nicely concealed. I enjoyed the nice tiled monument with inspirational words and images. Thanks! mjp303

Off Target

By: Rocket Girl and Duckeylee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Trying to hold a gpsr, pda, soda, sandwich, and bag of fries while searching for a cache is not easy. Just don't ask me to sign the log too! mjp303

Frito-Lay Passageway

By: yungman Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I enjoyed the sign across the way: 'Don't feed the birds'. Never seen that in a parking lot, but if there are plenty of chips nearby, I suppose it could be a problem. TFTC. mjp303

Sierraville-Tulare

By: Duckey Lee and Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

An older gentleman and his wife were working on their immaculate yard just around the corner. Everybody has their own form of relaxation I guess! TFTC. mjp303

Horse Tail

By: Rocket Girl and Duckey Lee Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Very nice hide! I would have looked for quite awhile, but bthomas went right to it. Thanks! mjp303

Yosemite Passage

By: TeamSpider3 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Fortunately the suspicious father who eyeballed us on the way in was out of eyesight at the cache location. Strange little spot. mjp303

Once a Road

By: TeamSpider3 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Progress, not always what it's cracked up to be. mjp303

Once a Fence

By: TeamSpider3 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

That RC helicopter was one of the coolest things I've seen on a caching trip! It was huge! bthomas and I watched it hover and swoop for quite a while. Oh, thanks for the cache too. mjp303

Berryessa Library Park #2a

By: DuckeyLee and Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A lady interrupted our search. I thought she would ask what was going on, but it turns out all she wanted was a light. We all got a good laugh over the cache container. Thanks! mjp303

Berryessa Library Park Cacti Gardens

By: DuckeyLee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Interesting area, but sorry, that was a nasty hiding spot. Somehow, I was the one who ended up down on all fours trying to retrieve the cache, and am pretty certain that the spot has become the local litter box. The smell was pretty overpowering. mjp303

Just Ducky

By: Rocket Girl and DuckeyLee Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Now I can say that I've found a cache while being honked at by an angry goose! Thank goodness for that fence. Somebody ought to take that dollar coin before it rusts away. TFTC. mjp303

Flickenger Duex

By: GeoBrowns Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Very nicely done! 2 of the 3 big three sports in full swing, but the nearby picnicing facilities were empty. I loved the way bthomas replaced the cache without breaking stride as we left. Very smooth! TFTC. mjp303

Northwood Sign Only

By: GeoBrowns Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Plenty of decoys here! Thanks for the mind games. mjp303

Mystery Park and Ride - Milpitas

By: bykenut Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I happened to put my hand on the cache, so I knew it was there. I liked fact that we didn't have to fuss with the log too much! Thanks. mjp303

Penitencia "Dectructocache"

By: Team feline Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

We had the cache out and were examining the contents when a very curious muggle stopped to stare. I informed her that we were on a treasure hunt, which elicited a smile. She sorta seemed like the type to get down an look for this cache. Hopefully there won't be any trouble. mjp303

Former Berryessa School Building

By: GeoBrowns Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This was a very interesting building. Thanks for pointing it out. mjp303

By: GeoBrowns Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Very nice execution! I always look forward to Geo Browns caches. Thanks! mjp303

Creekside Rest

By: Team feline Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

Like Station 19, I gave the hide location a cursory search and announced that it wasn't there. About 10 minutes later, bthomas re-searched the spot and found the cache. I must be getting tired. It's been a long day. Definitely put in a larger container! TFTC. mjp303

Road to Adobe Closed

By: Team feline Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I'm pretty sure this cache had fallen out of its perch since geekster picked it up off the ground. Lotsa bicyclists whizzing by. TFTC. mjp303

Hiding at Hidden Lake

By: TeamSpaz Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We parked in the wrong spot, but I was able to reach it anyway. TFTC. mjp303

Starlite Horseshoes

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I've seen a few bocce lanes out caching, but never horse shoe pits. Thanks for the quickie. mjp303

Murphy's Law Cache

By: Team feline Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

After geekster made the find, I wandered away...there was just too much unaccompanied adult in the area. This cache doesn't seem to be living up to it's namesake law! mjp303

How Dry I am

By: Team feline Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

This cache was not living up its billing today. There was a good flow in the little stream, and everything is starting to green up. It took a concerted effort to find the well concealed container. TFTC. mjp303

Tea for Four

By: payakoi Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Approach from the residential side was sketchy. Walking around to the commercial side, we enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of the New Year season. Thanks for the diversion. mjp303

By: spider3 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Lots of muggles, but we slipped in for a find. mjp303

Therapy Cache #1

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Our search turned up some drug paraphanelia, which looked like very convincing camoflauge. I'd give at least $100 for a picture of bthomas confidently trying to screw the mouthpiece off of that bong. [:D] Good times! TFTC. mjp303

Therapy Cache #2

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

geekster and I each chose a spot to dive into the search, and mine turned out to be the right one. TFTC. mjp303
