Whimsical Wonders (HMB)

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I was drawing my horse-fish when up drives the same guy who prevented me from getting this cache on my last visit. Amazing. So, I quickly closed things up and went on my way without coloring it properly. Sigh. TFTC. mjp303

Movie: GeoTales, Believe it or Not

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I solved this very amuzing puzzle the first night, but had to wait until this afternoon to make the find. Taking the long way home, I travelled down Sharp Park Road, and across Devil's Slide, making a brief stop at 'The Bobcat Hole' in El Grenada. (DNF: I decided not to get my shoes wet!) All the way I could sense the power of 'P' pulling me in! [;)] I dropped a TB. Thanks for the cache. mjp303

A Few Caches #1 Salt Water View

By: OneAngryPuppy Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I solved the puzzle awhile ago, and have been watching and hoping the cache would come back. A creative hide which I eventually found after eliminating several other more mundane possibilities. Try not to draw too much attention to yourself while you make the find! Thanks for a fun little adventure! mjp303

CCCT - The Neighborhood

By: donvsop Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

For the longest time, I've always wondered why the find count on my biggest day never added up correctly. Well, it was because I forgot this cache. Although I couldn't remember the find to save my life, vaccine does mention me in his log. Sorry for being so tardy. mjp303

Bailey Walk - Clarence meets George

By: KCSearcher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

4:11p #44 of 74 on a East Bay marathon with vaccine and Crazyon2Wheels. Being a sorta lazy sort of cacher, I was actually diappointed to discover that there weren't any Redwood trees planted at this cache site. [;)] That was a sneeky hide, and just right for the capper. Thanks. mjp303

Filler up

By: Halbert Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

9:46a #11 of 76 on a East Bay marathon with vaccine and Crazyon2Wheels. This was a cool spot, and we really enjoyed examining the pumps. Evidently the oldest one (up next to the building) is from 1915. Very cool. We did attract the attention of an employee, who came out to ask what we were doing. Evidently there's been a lot of vandalism. We explained things and showed him the cache since he was unaware of it or if permission had been obtained to place it. You may want to do more to make sure everyone who works there knows what's going on. TFTC! mjp303

8:37p #70 of 73 on a East Bay marathon with vaccine and Crazyon2Wheels. This cache gave us a lot of laughs. It happened just like vaccine told it, and I can't figure for the life of me why a chain like that would be left to dangle in that spot. Thanks for the fun! mjp303

By: GlobeSniffer Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

11:40a #20 of 76 on a East Bay marathon with vaccine and Crazyon2Wheels. This was the most creative hide of the day. All of us were perplexed for a while. I'll bet this place rocks in the evenings, so we were glad to make our search before it got too busy. TFTC. mjp303

9:42p #72 of 73 on a East Bay marathon with vaccine and Crazyon2Wheels. Whew! Got it. It sure could have been hidden in a more interesting way, though. mjp303

Memorial Cache

By: Team ATV Caching Crew Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

3:44p #41 of 74 on a East Bay marathon with vaccine and Crazyon2Wheels. This was our first cache after stopping for a bite to eat. Ooooph! Nice view from the top though. With scores of hiding spots within the EPE of a GPSr, you really ought to give a helpful hint. TFTC. mjp303

Iron Horse Trail (IH1)

By: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

9:16a #8 of 76 on a East Bay marathon with vaccine and Crazyon2Wheels. We waited in the car while Con2W fetched it. The guy's cache sense is amazing! mjp303

Cache on Pooh Corner

By: WeBeFour Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

10:19a #14 of 76 on a East Bay marathon with vaccine and Crazyon2Wheels. Great views! After finding the cache, we took a minute to survey the territory we planned to visit later in the day. Thanks for the cache! mjp303

Walnut Creek Ca$h

By: WeBeFour Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

10:11a #13 of 76 on a East Bay marathon with vaccine and Crazyon2Wheels. This was the first of 2 caches on the longest hike we took during today's numbers run. The views were well worth the effort! Thanks. mjp303

Music To Our Ears

By: Cachin' Katie and Sandi Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

8:49a #5 of 76 on a East Bay marathon with vaccine and Crazyon2Wheels. This was the oldest cache we found, and looked that way too! I enjoyed the walk and the view of the creek. TFTC. mjp303

Picket's Cache

By: Arctic Fox Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I found this cache in a pretty good downpour. The only thing stranger was that a man was moving the lawn of the house next door. Fortunately, I was shielded from his view! TFTC. mjp303

Bad Luck

By: zapboy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I didn't get stopped, but I decided to spend the day caching anyhow. Thanks for the quickie. mjp303

Hyde and Ivy on the Bank of the Mighty River

By: Dr. Jekyll Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Fortunately we had the place to ourselves! I really liked the creative hide technique, and I agree with vaccine that night-time with a flashlight is the best way to spot it. Thanks for the chilly fun. We got a chuckle out of the cache page, too. mjp303

Hand in Hand

By: gimpel Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I was starting to worry that we weren't going to be able to find this cache quickly. Several passes around the zero point failed to produce it, but vaccine widened his search and success was ours. It was cold enough that we didn't linger. TFTC. mjp303

Sunnyvale

By: twallace Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

A quick find, although I got interrupted by a maintainance man who was certainly wondering what I was doing back there. Thanks. mjp303

Somewhere in Saratoga

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I loved the challenge of this cache: we got within 200 feet a couple of times but could proceed no further. Finally the site gave up it's secrets! Thank goodness for maps, but curse the autorouter! On scene, it was getting dark fast, but fortunately we didn't have to resort to the flashlights. Thanks! mjp303

ARBO'S GUIDE TO THE PAC-10 SERIES: STANFORD

The House that Boyd and Jill Built

By: homermayor Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

True Story: I was in the doctor's office waiting room right before visiting this cache, and the nurse called 'Boyd Smith'. A very distinguished silver haired gentleman gets up to see the doctor. Then I visit the cache and notice that Boyd Smith is the name on the scoreboard. I wonder if it was the same person! TFTC. mjp303

Sequoia Sempervirus

By: Changes in Latitudes Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Simply brilliant. I must have circled the area at least 20 times. Hints and lifelines focused our search, but it was still tough. I'm writing this out: ***Thanks for the cache***. mjp303

Stevens Creek Marsh

Burrowing Owls

By: caliseastar Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

A brisk day for a walk along the bay! I'm feeling a bit concerned for the owls: There's lots of graded earth and construction quite close-by. I hope they're not feeling too threatened...Thanks. mjp303

Along the De Anza Trail 10 - Camden Oak

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Chilly, windy night. We were stomping our feet, rubbing our hands together, and failing to find anything in plain sight. Eventually I put my hand on it, and we retreated to the car to sign the log. mjp303

Lakewood Park

By: Somethings Fishy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

After working my way between park employees that were cleaning up debris around stage one, I found the old cache at stage 2 as well. Suprisingly, I also found the work ID badge of a cacher I know! Amazingly enough, she found the cache nearly two months ago. Good Luck! mjp303

Los Gatos Creek - Revisited #2

By: Thefogheads Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I forgot and left my flashlight in the car, so vaccine was pretty much on his own. Oh, that and the fact that the cop slowed down and spot-lighted my car left me pretty distracted. mjp303

It was kinda tough for me to stay 'on task' (...at least that's what my first-graders call it. [;)]) Exhibit D has been damaged and is missing, probably a herd of pushy shoppers trying to get the latest gadget. No matter, I was able to finish it off with brute-force. Thanks. mjp303

Big Canyon, Big View

By: PurplePeople Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Somehow I missed the more direct route to this cache, and ended up taking the scenic route past M J's older cache and around the canyon, which was quite pleasant. Nice to see Dr D. Faith, but Roman was definitely the early bird. Happy New Year to all. TFTC. mjp303
