Creek Crossing

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

A memorial day outing for the p303 family. We had fun looking for nests, lizards, and snakes all along this lovely trail. TFTC! mjp303

The Woodrat Bonus

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

A memorial day outing for the p303 family. Thanks for a fun series. We enjoyed the new trail and the chance to to appreciate the beautiful world so close to home. As I write this log, the kids are hunched in front of the TV playing a video game. Sigh. Back to normal I suppose. TFTC. mjp303

Dusky Wooded Footrat

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

A memorial day outing for the p303 family. Nicely hidden, which had us going for a few minutes. The kids loved srambling around on the rocks, and were intregued by how crumbly and soft the stones were. TFTC. mjp303

Dusky Footed Woodrat

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Bug drop.

Dusky Footed Woodrat

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

A memorial day outing for the p303 family. Whew! we were winded after that climb. The views were worth it though! It was easy to point out to the kids where we'd come from since we could see the construction fence and backhoe down along the pipeline in the valley. I think they were impressed with themselves after that! TFTC. mjp303

Space Available

By: the voucher Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

A memorial day outing for the p303 family. At first they all seemed content to stay in the car. However, quickly realizing that it wasn't going to be a grab and dash, everyone got out and helped me look...then I promptly found it. [;)] TFTC. mjp303

Pulgas Pinnacles

By: PurplePeople Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

A memorial day outing for the p303 family. We really worked up an appetite getting to this cache, so I whipped up a brunch of pancakes with cudweed syrup and dusky-footed wood rat sausage. [;)] TFTC. mjp303

Hastings Tot Lot #2

By: NavySparksandtheMrs Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

A memorial day outing for the p303 family. The girls weren't in the swing of things yet so the boys hiked down and make quick work of things while they waited in the car. Thanks for preserving the location! mjp303

Lower Crestview

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

A memorial day outing for the p303 family. 4 kids had strict orders to STAY ON THE TRAIL!! Nicely hidden. TFTC. mjp303

Polly wants a cache

By: dollarman Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

A memorial day outing for the p303 family. The last cache on our loop up and around on the new dusky-footed wood rat trail. Great to get out. Thanks for luring us into the OSP! mjp303

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

Thanks for marking the trailhead and enterance to this lower side of Coal Creek OSP. I'll be back to explore! mjp303

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I loved the camouflage on the cache; it blends right in. Thanks! mjp303

Another End of Alpine Road

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This cache was the start of a fun day of hiking and placing caches with crawburr and vaccine. vaccine's son was along, and he was our gate specialist. SMILIE What a beautiful day and a great trail! TFTC. mjp303

Ode to Bullit

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Definitely a guy worthy of a cache, and hidden in one of his favorite containers, too. Hard to believe there was a road along here once. TFTC. mjp303

Tree of Heaven

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Perfect spot for a cache: our eyes are immediately drawn to spots like this, but everyone else passes them right by. TFTC. mjp303

Vee Tree

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

Adventurous little hide...and a wonderful old tree. TFTC. mjp303

The End of Alpine Road

By: crawburr Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Water Dog Lake Trail Head

By: NavySparksandtheMrs Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

FTF! [8D] 11:00p ...Hmmm, I guess vaccine had to work tonight. This is a spot I know well, and definitely worthy of a cache. Hunting will be a lot tougher during the day though, since it's a busy area. TFTC! mjp303

Edgar Allan Poe: The Haunted Palace

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

After playing down by the stream for awhile, our interest in following the GPSr around in circles off trail while puzzling over a non-specific hint had worn thin. I probably would have persisted, but the chorus of 'Let's just go, Dad' was quite distracting. Given ours (and others) difficulties with the heavy tree cover, I suggest you update your hints to make them very specific. Thanks though for getting us out on a beautiful trail! Unfinished business will certainly bring us back another day. mjp303

Edgar Allan Poe: Imp of the Perverse

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

After camping last night up at Toyon, we decided to attempt this series. Like others, our GPSr zero'd quite a ways away. Eventually we found it after dodging 3 groups of hikers out on this lovely day.

Edgar Allan Poe: The Telltale Heart

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This one was a quick find...after giving up our search where the GPSr initially pointed us, which was over 100' away. I took pictures of the boys with a very interesting and appropriate item in the cache, but won't post them here, and possibly spoil the fun. The kids were getting a bit tired, but we pressed on since I figured it was probably not much further to continue the loop. mjp303

Tube

By: McGrude-n-Nif (adopted by mjp303) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

The 303 family enjoyed a very pleasant hike to the tube tonight. After we freshened up the swag and replaced the missing log, I got down to the nervewracking business of triming back the PO. Hopefully no inadvertant brushing occurred! The path should be clear for a while. The cache is hidden in a slightly different location, which you should be able to retrieve without leaving the bridge if you're determined.

EyeGuy

By: devonushka Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. On this one, we ran right into the Cat Hill bicycle race. There were lots of competitors with big thighs and spectators with cameras. After dodging all of that, we dealt with the usual geocaching issues as well. TFTC. mjp303

The Queen and I

By: MamaBe Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. Grab and go. TFTC. mjp303

Give My Regards to Broadway

By: Dowbiggin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. We went at night, and passed the sounds of several parties. The nighttime search was a bit of a challenge, but we found it eventually. TFTC. mjp303

Sgt. Preston

By: spyder woman Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

HWOB

By: krabaple and Scorpion King Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. This was another one that I had trouble navigating to, but vaccine was quite patient, and we got there eventually. Sorry, I forgot to write down the name of the nearby establishment too, but it was something like 'Helmut's House of Bocce'. [;)] TFTC. mjp303

Rosemary's Baby

By: Dowbiggin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. What a cool neighborhood. We felt a bit exposed while on scene, but appreciated that the homeowners association had provided lighting to help us search. TFTC. mjp303

Lofty Lady

By: MamaBe & CTomGeo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. The most interesting thing to me about the lofty lady was that her hair and hat were flapping a bit in the breeze. It definitely gave her a life-like quality! TFTC. mjp303

Leap of Faith

By: CiL's evil twin Changes in Attitudes Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Although today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine, I think we did a lot of things really wrong at this cache. First, we were on the wrong side of the fence. Second, we stuck our hands in a place that we really shouldn't have. Eventually vaccine made the find in a place that I had already searched. Whew! TFTC. mjp303

YVXX - Safer?

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. There was a lady walking her dog who seemed to glance at us several times, but we knew there was no chance the cache would get muggled. [;)] TFTC. mjp303

Ralph Brown

By: cc Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. I spotted the cache first and let him have the pleasure of a solo find as well. What a strange little remainant of whatever was here before the new library! TFTC. mjp303

Happy Mothers Day!!

By: Adamski Adventurers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. Fortunately it was a quick find, and we didn't attract any attention. Welcome home, Hailey! TFTC. mjp303

Northern CA Solar System Model: Asteroid Ceres

By: shadow101 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. We were searching for about 5 minutes before vaccine realized that there was a young girl in a car right next to the cache. (Tinted windows...I guess she didn't want to watch her brother's baseball game.) Luckily we were able to palm the cache without her realizing what was going on, but I'm sure it was confusing and scary for her! TFTC. mjp303

Johnny

By: Adamski Adventurers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. I think we scared off a few people in the park though. After searching for this cache, I was covered with dirt and spider webs, but no one was around to misinterpret the silly grin I must have had on my face. TFTC. mjp303

Non-obvious Park and Ride - Los Gatos

By: bykenut Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. There were no nearby standard parking spots, so I took a risk in one of the plentiful handicapped stalls. TFTC. mjp303

Moore is better

By: Changes in Latitudes Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. Fortunately for us, it was getting on toward dark and activity in the park was dying down. TFTC. mjp303

High Water

By: bullit Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. This area reminded me of the huge flood control dikes built along the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers in the Midwest where I used to live. People used to say that those dikes would control 100 year floods too. Time will tell I suppose. TFTC. mjp303

Alien Escape Pod

By: ProTechCC Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. The radiation didn't bother me too much, but a dadburn'd twig kept poking me in the head. TFTC. mjp303

Mellow Brick Road

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. What a cool spot! As we approached, I was slightly annoyed by the bumpiness of the road, but then vaccine read the cache page description and all became clear. TFTC. mjp303

Hidden Walk- Wildcat Creek

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. I made him go get it. I think we accessed the cache from a newer portion of the trail. A fun little walk. TFTC. mjp303

Secret Walkway #5 - Shadow Oaks

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. Nearby fence construction wasn't going to deter us geocaching trolls from our appointed rounds! TFTC. mjp303

Spider Monkey Fiasco

By: spyder woman Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. This was definitely a fiasco for us. First we approached the hard way...twice. Then we tried the correct hiding spot right off the bat, but somehow couldn't remove the camouflage. Then we searched lots of unlikely spots under the watchful eyes of athletic muggles. After all that, I'm amazed we didn't end up with a DNF. TFTC. mjp303

Canoas Flock Revived

By: DR Doolitte (adopted by viperfin and CA Poppi Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. He discovered the part of the cache that keeps things where they belong which led me to find the actual container. It was confusing for a moment or two! TFTC. mjp303

Curtner Station

By: Created by Stacy & Jerry; Adopted by cachbefo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. Thanks for marking the spot. I think I broke a couple of traffic rules trying to exit the parking lot, but no one was around to care on a Saturday evening. TFTC. mjp303

Northern CA Solar System Model: Planet Venus

By: TeamJiffy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. We may have attracted some attention with our flashlights flickering around in the dark, but the find was quick and we moved on. TFTC. mjp303

Bird Person of Willow Glen

By: Tammie The Dog Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. Lots of unusual things to see in this park today. There was some sort of fundraising marathon going across the way complete with loud music and tents and lots of people running on the track. Weird use of camouflage on the cache! It had me stumped, but vaccine came through. TFTC. mjp303

Mum's the Word

By: Beckerbuns & Ricky (adopted by halhal) Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Today was perfect weather for a San Jose cache run with vaccine. We searched for awhile since the GPSr was no help under the trees and the hint was non-specific. Eventually we hit the correct geopile. TFTC. mjp303

By: mjp303 Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Congratulations to SnoWake for meeting the BAQC requirements, and receiving the coordinates to the final cache! It took a second trip to Petaluma River, but hey, getting engaged can be distracting! SMILIE
