As Seen from the Sky! II

By: jimbexleyspeed and mjp303 Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Whew! This one had me going even though I knew exactly what to look for. My fingers were flying on the gpsr switching back and forth between waypoints, and even though the epe was a fantastic +/- 10 feet, I must have circled 3 times before I spotted it. The boys (going into 2nd grade) had fun afterwards figuring out the letters and words and solving their puzzle. Thanks for restoring a great geocache! mjp303

Foster City Levee

By: jimbexleyspeed Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

4TF @ 7:02p just missing others. Great hide! Like the rest, I nearly lost the log in the stiff breeze. We love the views of the bridge from here, and the boys spent the rest of our walk looking for cats. TFTC. mjp303

As Seen From the Sky!

By: Daniel & Christina Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I have corresponded with Nomex on this. Since nothing remains of the original cache, it is not a candidate for adoption. It's unfortunate to see an old cache go by the wayside, but it's in a great spot and should be freed up for something new.

Wash

By: Samshipmate Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. The recruiter and the recruitee were deep in discussion across the way so we went right ahead. I guess you don't actually have to step into their office to get the pitch. TFTC. mjp303

By: c.jones adopted by scpet Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. Yup plenty of bunnies snoozing in the warm sun. Pretty cushy life. TFTC. mjp303

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. Our first of two encounters with this type of cache today! My only difficulty was lining things up in the wrong column. Thanks for the fun hide. mjp303

By: adriennesc Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. I was prone in the dirt on the wrong side of the bush when vaccine announced the find. That BBQ restaurant looks pretty good too. TFTC. mjp303

Broken Barge

By: adriennesc Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. The barge is gone, the people are gone, the buildings are going. The soccer field is here, as are the no trespassing signs. TFTC. mjp303

A Notion of Falseness

By: CoolCache Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. Eeewww! vaccine entertained me with his story of a similarly themed cache next to a medical clinic in Fresno. That one took a lot of nerve to open too! TFTC. mjp303

Have a Snack!

By: gcherry adopted by Jodakry Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. His car was too short to really provide any cover, but a little shooting the breeze while he had a smoke was good enough. TFTC. mjp303

TA's #300: MythBusted

By: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. Although vaccine made the find, I knew right where to search. I was there for about 5 minutes when he came up, reached over my shoulder, and made the find. TFTC. mjp303

Captain's Corner

By: ktshmatey Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. For about 10 minutes we insisted on searching everywhere but where the cache was actually located, and refused to understand the hint. Eventually things sunk in though. TFTC. mjp303

Rip Rap Reprised

By: Kilroy Gang Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. After a bit of a search we found a much larger cache than we were expecting. Since the log was blank, we assumed that the owner has replaced it recently. Thanks! We also observed that the hint and the coordinates don't match. TFTC. mjp303

By: Barbiecacher,Soccerref, Chili & barefoot94040 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. Beautiful office complex! A broken sprinkler head was spewing water all over the place and there was a flood in the grass and sidewalks close to the cache. We found a way in without getting our shoes wet though. TFTC. mjp303

See Planes ver.0-2-8-0

By: bthomas Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Out with vaccine for a day of caching on Alameda. We found the cache, but discovered that the radio had already been tuned to the proper frequency. This allowed us to access the flight data recorder a bit quicker than intended. The next finders will have to tune the radio for themselves as intended. TFTC. mjp303

As Seen From the Sky!

By: Daniel & Christina Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I have placed a new cache container, and am starting it out with a RJTB. Please re-hide the cache with natural materials since this is a somewhat busy area and cover is sparse during the dry months. This is a great location with a long geocaching history; let's keep it going! I have sent the original owners a request to adopt the cache if they are no longer interested in maintaining it.

Bingo!

By: Hidey Hunter Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

22 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. A nice little hide that reminded me of one of geekster's caches. I struggled mightily with that one, but today it was a quick find. TFTC. mjp303

Marcella

By: Benjamin F. Workerofwood Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

2 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. I enjoyed finding the boat and reading about it's history. Probably not a National Treasure, but definitely A Local One. TFTC. mjp303

Elkhorn Slough Overlook

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

11 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. On the way to this cache, we passed a fisherman carrying a 3' tiger shark and saw some sea otters playing in the slough. TFTC. mjp303

10 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. We spent a while searching the wrong structure, but made a quick find after refocusing our efforts. TFTC. mjp303

The EEEEWWWW Lagoon

By: The Saints Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

38 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. I know, this one's not on the Monterey Bay coast, but I needed it for the Davenport quad on the BAQC, we went home to the peninsula along 1 instead of 17, 85 280. A much nicer choice, IMO. Nothing smelly today with a stiff on-shore breeze. After an entire day of overcast sky, the sun finally peaked out for a brief visit. TFTC. mjp303

Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines

By: The Saints Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

9 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. I liked the black plastic decon container. I've never seen one of those before. After finding the cache we went in the store, but they didn't have any for sale. In fact, the guy behind the counter made quite a face when I asked him about them. TFTC. mjp303

Bear Republic

By: G A-DayTrippers Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

12 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. Nicely hidden cache! I'd love to have the corner office in that nearby building. TFTC. mjp303

3 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. Lots of folks about on a Saturday morning made us a bit uncomfortable, but since we were there by invitation, we persisted until the find was ours. TFTC. mjp303

An excuse not to do your home work

By: monkeynuts16 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

34 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. What does the cache title have to do with the location or the hide? Oh, wait...you built that camouflage instead of doing your homework? Well, now it's summer vacation. No excuses: Get busy and build us some more! Nicely done. TFTC. mjp303

Goodie Goodie Gumdrop

By: TheDeviousMaxPower Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

36 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. Well, over the past year, the landscapers have kept this cache in theme. The hide is holding up well, too. I have to say that finders haven't been kind to it though. There's absolutely nothing in the can except a tattered cache page print-out that's being used as a log. I wish I'd had some things to spruce it up with. TFTC. mjp303

Monterey Boardwalk

By: #1 geobears Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. Nice hide on a great beach. Several people touched the wall and headed back in the short time we were there. It was amusing to read about it on the cache page and then almost immediately see it happen. TFTC. mjp303

Captain's Inn - The Geocache

By: two bison Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Pleasure Point

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

4 of 38. A cache run along the Monterey Bay coastline with geekster and Shores Scout. The spot was crawling with surfers and watchers. The waves were still pretty small, but based upon the number of boards in the water, I think they were expecting things to get interesting. This cache was a first for me: I retrieved and replace it with a muggle less than 2' away. [:O] TFTC. mjp303

17 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. I had trouble figuring out where to park, but once I did, it was a quick find. Nice twist on a classic hide. TFTC. mjp303

A Rascal Ant

By: soupercamp Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

1 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. It was still quiet early on a holiday morning, and I got my feet wet walking across the grass. Somebody needs to adjust those irrigation timers! Nicely done on the hide. TFTC. mjp303

Got Plants?

By: jellis50 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

21 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. Yes, I've got plants. Well, plant parts. Prickly ones. In my socks. TFTC. mjp303

Trees For The Future

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

22 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. What trees? I mean there were trees around, but the sign says something about how the ones that they planted were supposed to be protected with a chicken-wire fence. I looked carefully, but didn't see nuttin' like that around here. Something doesn't add up! TFTC. mjp303

Sing Your Praises

By: GeoMoosers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

12 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. I wrote down the number on a scrap of paper that must have gotten thrown away with my lunch trash. Grrr. I'll sing to make this smilie stick...will you send me the number? TFTC. mjp303

Kooper's Kaper 2, the sequel

By: Bear n Grin it Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

19 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. Quick find in a strange spot. A group of kids were stopped under the freeway talking excitedly on their cell phones. Then they peeled out and raced off up the dead-end road. Whoops, false start. Two minutes later they blew my door off coming back the other way. TFTC. mjp303

14 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. I suppose that if anyone was actually watching what that security camera records, this cache wouldn't have lasted this long. Strangely odd out here. I like it. TFTC. mjp303

2 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. With the terror threat level high lately, I told myself I wasn't going to search for this cache. Driving by, though, the coast appeared clear enough so I took a chance. TFTC. mjp303

6 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. I love a good bookstore, but this one had the good sense to be closed on a holiday. Contrast that with the Taco Bell nearby that I went into to grab a napkin. (Got something on my hands searching for your cache!) The fellow at the register excitedly told someone in the back that the first customer has arrived (in Spanish). I think they were dissapointed that I left without buying anything, but seriously, who'd buy a taquito at 9am in the morning? 'The Book of Three' by Lloyd Alexander is a good book for a kid. LoneTree

By: Gramma Bear Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

13 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. The squirrels that live nearby didn't like my visit, and spent the time chirping defiantly at me from the safety of their hole. A couple of bicyclists rode by while I was signing the log, and one asked if I was okay. The other said of course he's okay, he's got a car. (?!?) TFTC. mjp303

4 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. The folks walking the track with their dogs probably wondered what I was doing since they passed me twice before I found it. The low terrain rating fooled me, but eventually I saw the light. TFTC. mjp303

15 of 23. Out for an East-bay cache run to pick up a few more quadrangles. Having come this far from the Peninsula, I had to drive up the road and see what this park was all about. HOT is what it's all about! A nice spot for a cache though. I found the container with the lid off and in plain sight. A muggle had made a comment about taking a Rolex and leaving a diamond ring (...hey, it seems he read the stash note...) Unfortunately I found the Jeep TB tag, but no Jeep. Bummer. TFTC. mjp303

Healing View

Since I didn't cross the baricades and go up on the observation deck, I'm not 100% certain that's what you have to do to find this cache. However, if so, this cache should be archived or moved since it appears that there is no work being done to repair the burned portion of the observation deck. If not, then the cache page should state that you don't have to go up on it and that you should obey posted warning signs and baricades. This is a great area! Hopefully it can continue to have a cache. My 2 cents.
