B afraid (again)

By: Bob & Elliecat Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Found it...but before I did put my hand in some rain moistened doggie do. YUCK! Fortunately I had wipes in the car. Nice park, and good to get out for a little caching between rain storms. TFTC. mjp303

Suburban Crop Circles

By: jasmerb Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

My GPSr and I got a bit dizzy driving to this cache, but after things settled down, it was a quick find. Great to get out during a break in the rain. TFTC. mjp303

Lou Seale

By: Mr Prez 24 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Thanks for explaining how you got the name of the cache...I thought it might be named for 'Lucille'. Heh! TFTC. mjp303

Bryant Street Bridges

By: girlyQ Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Tough to find! GPSr was bouncing all over the place, and there were plenty of places to search. Since it was after dark, only a few passersby interrupted my search. TFTC. mjp303

Ramos

By: gashog Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out for a little night caching while oldest daughter was at a class. Great fun waving my flashlight along the fenceline! Hopefully the neighbors weren't alarmed! TFTC. mjp303

Congratulations to Michael_SFBA for meeting the requirements of the BAQC and receiving the coordinates to the final cache.

Oldest In California

By: PurplePeople Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Another nice bit of history and a quick find. The cache has weathered the storms well. Although there were several people drying out on the covered benches, we were able to retrieve the final unnoticed. TFTC! mjp303

Element #17

By: GeekDad Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I love these element caches! Since it was drying out today between storms, we made the trek. Public access parking was chained off, so we just parked in the very empty private lot with no issues. Nice container! TFTC. mjp303

Yerba Buena GeoCoin Integrity Test

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 4.5 Container: Small

Whew! The crazy things I'll do for a square in the fizzy matrix. airsax, MotorBug and I teamed up for a scramble along the rocks to this cache. I decided to make it more challenging by bringing 8yo twins Ted and John along. There were a couple of hair-raising spots, but the boys knew no fear. I, on the other hand, had enough for the three of us. Eventually the cache was in hand. I dropped an unregistered LA coin and took the USA. Thanks for the adventure! mjp303

T-aye!

By: Laird Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Caching TI. There was a rugby game going on at the field nearby. I loved looking at the new eastern span of the Bay Bridge from this angle. TFTC. mjp303

What a Sight!

By: Allwayslooking Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

This was our jumping off spot for a little scramble along the Yerba Buena coastline. There were lots of people enjoying the view. Thanks for marking the spot and bringing us here. mjp303

By: rosmo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

Thanks for providing a lunchtime diversion. It was clear as a bell today, and the view was great. Love this park! mjp303

Bay Area Quadrangle Challenge

By: mjp303 Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Back in November, I had resolved to move the final cache to a more accessible location. Most of the responses to this idea were unfavorable, which led me to abandon the idea. The location of the final cache has not changed. Thanks to everyone who voiced their opinion, and your continued interest in the BAQC!

View (A) Cross

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

It was such a beautiful, sunny day that we decided a return trip to Pugulas Ridge was in order. Lots of evidence of erosion from water running off the trail, but things were mostly dried out. Love those views from the top of the hill! TFTC. mjp303

The Big Gulp

By: PurplePeople Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

A family outing in the closest open space preserve to home. Thanks for a cleverly hidden cache and an explanation of where the water goes. I've been in this spot when there was a fearsome torrent diving underground. TFTC. mjp303

Rats, Wood!

By: Rogue Ramblers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

A beautiful day for a family trip to Pugulas Ridge. Thanks for an excuse to get back out there once again. mjp303

Doggie Do (revived!)

By: Paul Hoff - > Team Dralasites - > crawburr ! Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

As we were hiking by, said hello to MidPen ranger Francis who was parked about 100' from the cache. She pegged us for cachers right off. (I suppose it was the fact that we didn't have a dog; Or maybe it we the GPSr!) We talked for quite a while about geocaching, and she took the opportunity to inspect the cache, of which she knew the exact location. We ended up trading a rubber ball that lights up for a bottle of cherry red nail polish. Thanks!

Coast King

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A family outing to Natural Bridges SP to see the butterflies (not so many right now) led to lunch at the French Bakery. Our food was much, much better than brussel sprouts! TFTC. mjp303

Whale, you're here

By: skylanth Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

On a family outing to see the butterflies nearby, we happened upon the Marine Science Institute because of this cache. What a great find! After listening to a docent talk about the whale skeletons, we went inside and the kids got to hold a bunch of sea animals. Thanks for pointing out the spot. mjp303

Marine Science Earthcache

By: Team Nazgul Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

We came to Santa Cruz to see the butterflies at Natural Bridge SP nearby, but the Marine Science Institute was the real find of the trip! We really enjoyed our visit, and appreciated learning about the marine terraces through this earthcache. We estimated the distance from the bluff to the terrace to be about 50 feet. Thanks! mjp303

Alien Rover

By: ProTechCC Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Nice hike under clear skies. Cache container gave me a split-second shock! TFTC. mjp303

Dam Hicks! (Nazgul Secret Trailhead #2)

By: Team Nazgul Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Walked right up to it, but only because I've found a couple of more recent variations by a certain cacher that lives up my way. Thanks for a fun hide. mjp303

Chemistry: Chapter 11

By: ProTechCC Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I've solved this puzzle twice before, losing the solution since I never got around to making the find. Finally though, I knew I needed it for my matrix, so I got serious about making the trek way down south. At ground zero my widget was pointing a little bit off trail, and I was tempted to follow it. Then I turned around...Oh. [;)] The signature on the log above mine mentioned that (s)he had found it without a GPSr, but couldn't understand which waypoint it was! Heh. [}:)] Thanks for a fun puzzle and a pleasant hike. mjp303

Above the Mine

By: ProTechCC Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

In the park for another ProTechCC cache and had to grab some others nearby. Loved the views. The reservoir is quite low, but I expect that will change soon. TFTC. mjp303

Secret Trailhead #12 - Natural Bridges

By: Marky & Joani & Woof! Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I made a quick diversion to find this cache during a family outing to see the butterflies. It was fun to look through all of the old log books. TFTC! mjp303
