If You're Going to San Francisco

By: SnoWake Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. This was the first stop. TFTC. mjp303

End Of The Road #10798324-Stanley Rd

By: The A Team Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. Access was strange. I felt like we were driving on private property for awhile. The CHP at the entrance yaking on his phone didn't help, either. TFTC. mjp303

McGary Rd

By: The A Team Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. What an off-beat road! Oh, except the freeway's right next to it. Thanks for getting me out of the fast lane. TFTC. mjp303

Stanly's Picnic

By: BeagleBudD and BeagleBudE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. Once we got over our confusion about the hint, it was a quick find. TFTC. mjp303

End Of The ROAD-Airpark Rd

By: The A Team Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. I see he got a picture of my best side! Those prickers were sharp. Thanks to previous finders who trampled them down a bit! TFTC. mjp303

Who was Jose Cisneros?

By: The A Team Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. Counting. Now there's something I can do. TFTC. mjp303

Wallaby's

By: The A Team Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. We noticed Wallaby on the way in. Personally, I've never seen this brand in stores. Perhaps now that I know what I'm looking for, I will! TFTC. mjp303

The King

By: The A Team Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. I'm more familiar with King James type prose, but a little searching quickly brought me to just what I needed for this puzzle. I didn't see anything that might resemble a lion's den nearby though! TFTP. mjp303

WMWGKS #1

By: BNW Team Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. This was a quick stop along our way. TFTC. mjp303

TH7 - Hav42's Treasure Hunt Series

By: Hav42 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. We spotted the cache from the truck, but stashed it a bit more carefully after signing the log. TFTC. mjp303

Foley Swamp Thang

By: Binky del Mar Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Micro

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. This was the first sucessful water stop after a DNF on the other side of the lake. It was interesting to see the older, unused side of 6 Flags. There sure were plenty of people streaming into the park as we made the find, and some of them even gave us a passing glance! TFTC. mjp303

Pleasants Valley Road Bridge

By: MartianRabbit Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. Thanks for placing another along our route! mjp303

Napa River Tripping

By: Binky del Mar Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Small

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. This was our secon water stop. A missing stage one didn't slow us down as he had contacted the cache owner. The paddle out towards the final location was very enjoyable! Lots of wildlife and the rusting remains of a more industrial era to see. There was a sort of maniquin guarding one of the docks. The water level at the final location was receding quickly, but we were able to navigate the canoe close enough for a very careful look. Thanks for allowing a find! and thanks for the cache! mjp303

One Way Bridge

By: BNW Team Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. Busy, busy here. Nearly got run over. Cool old bridge. TFTC. mjp303

Valley View #3

By: BNW Team Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. I was getting a bit car sick at this point, so thanks for a brief stop to clear my head. TFTC. mjp303

Goose Egg

By: donvsop Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Regular

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. This was the fourth and final water stop. Everything was going swimmingly until we pushed off after finding this cache. I dropped my GPSr in the drink. HORROR! Well, all's well that ends well, as I was able to find it after about 10 minutes of searching in the murky, but fortunately shallow, water. It was still working, and hadn't lost lock. Imagine that. TA's truck probably still stinks though, as I got completely wet looking for the widget. Sorry about that! Thanks for the adventure! mjp303

Bucket-O-Fish

By: Junglecat64 & CalifStud Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. He said, 'It's out there', with a vague wave, so off I went. So it was! TFTC. mjp303

Monticello

By: MartianRabbit Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. Yeah, you can definitely tell that this road was not built for the speeds that people typically drive it these days! TFTC. mjp303

Berryessa 3 - Markley Cove

By: Hav42 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. TFTC. mjp303

Texas Longhorns?

By: L & F Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. I didn't notice any unusual animals here, but we did see a couple of llamas earlier in the day! TFTC. mjp303

Putah Creek Island

By: CoachTony and PandaChick Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. This was the third water stop. Short, but relatively swift: they must be releasing water from the dam. Carrying the canoe was the toughest part. I dropped a coin. Thanks for a fun and challenging find. mjp303

Hey Buddy, gotta light?

By: The Pointy Ear Dog Gang Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

Out with TA for a day of canoe caching and most everything in between. What an unusal rock formation! TFTV. mjp303

Mrs303 and I intended to take this tour a few months ago, but never had a chance. The spectactular display of flowers has died back, but we still had some very nice discoveries. Our photographic report is attached. Thanks for designing a very nice botanical tour of the park! mjp303

By: GBA Offroad Crew Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

California Mountain Bi-Ways - Pond View

By: The Mountain Riders Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Out for the GWS6 off-road cache run. This was a really interesting spot. Still scarred from hydraulic mining I suppose. The color of the water was a really unusual green. We had fun sliding down the shale hillside. TFTC. mjp303

California Mountain By-Ways - Break Time

By: The Mountain Riders Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Out for the GWS6 off-road cache run. I hung back after most everyone left this cache and tried the Jeep on that little ledge. It was kinda loose, but I got it on the second try. dw was ready to get out, but once I reassured her that we weren't going to tip over backwards, decided to stay in for the little trip! Coming back down was fun, too! mjp303

California Mountain Bi-Ways - Rabbit Hole

By: The Mountain Riders Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Out for the GWS6 off-road cache run. This cache was definitely a group favorite! Very cool. I was using the wipers at this point, but little rain won't dampen our spirits! TFTC. mjp303

California Mountain Bi-Ways - Cemetery

By: The Mountain Riders Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

California Mountain By-Ways - X The River

By: The Mountain Travelers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out for the GWS6 off-road cache run. Hey, there's the sun! Finally. I was a bit aprehensive with all of us parked on the bridge, but things worked out okay. Great spot in a beautiful canyon. TFTC. mjp303

California Mountain By-Ways U-Turn

By: The Mountain Travelers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

California Mountain By-Ways - Dusty Mountain Roads

By: The Mountain Travelers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Out for the GWS6 off-road cache run. A little rain didn't dampen our spirits, but it did help with the dust! TFTC. mjp303

California Mountain By-Ways - A Day of What Counts

By: The Mountain Travelers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Out for the GWS6 off-road cache run. Thanks to our trailboss UtChaz, his trusty side-kick bthomas, and everyone who helped by placing caches! This truly was a day of fun. What a beautiful place to visit and appreciate...now it's back to the salt mines to pay for all that gas. Ouch! TFTC. mjp303

California Mountain By-Ways - The Evil Cache

By: The Mountain Travelers Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 4.5 Container: Regular

Out for the GWS6 off-road cache run. This one was quite a ways up there. I got in a little race with another cacher to get there first: He was ahead of me, but I spotted before him! The waterfall is beautiful. TFTC. mjp303

California Mountain By-Way - California Hardwoods

By: The Mountain Travelers Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Out for the GWS6 off-road cache run. The day is winding down and it's back to the city for us: I'm feeling a bit depressed. Couldn't this run last longer? TFTC. mjp303

California Mountain By-Ways - Monkey in a Tree

By: The Mountain Travels with Monkey Boy's Help Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

Out for the GWS6 off-road cache run. I ended up being the cache fetcher after the younger boys decided they couldn't reach it. Several people on the ground weren't sure those branches would hold my weight, but fortunately I didn't fall on my kiester. TFTC. mjp303

Dirty Dan's Hideout

By: UtChaz & Family Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Out for the GWS6 off-road cache run. After exploring the hideout, we ate our lunch in the car since it was a bit too wet outside. The bridge provided plenty of photo opportunities! My daughter was a bit peeved to discover an outhouse shortly after I told her she would have to relieve herself au natural. Whoops! TFTC. mjp303

New Bullards

I rolled up with bthomas and airsax, and quickly reconnected with many GBA cachers, both old and new. It was great to mingle with cachers from many other places as well! Picked up a lanyard, pin, t-shirt, coin (COOL! [8D]), and signed a bunch of bingo cards (either 'completed a challenge cache': SMILIE or 'gotten a vehicle stuck while caching': [:I]). Stuck around until they started taking the tables down, and then moved on to a little night caching! What well organized event! Thanks. mjp303

Caching into town on the day before GWS6. One of many! I had to explain caching to the neighbor. He thought I was going to poison his horse, and wanted to know what bthomas was doing in the bushes. It was all good once he realized we weren't teen-aged hoods. TFTC. mjp303

Night caching after the GWS meet greet. With a big group, everybody fanned out and started shouting. Eventually we made sense of it. One of the tacks was upside down, which made things a bit confusing. We turned it rightside up for the next group. A very creative cache! Thanks! mjp303

A Rock or I Rack?

By: bthomas Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Funny how things stay the same. We're still talking about 'I-rack' nearly 5 years later. Perhaps the new prez will pronounce it better than the old. One thing's certain, we're still caching! Thanks, mjp303

Out with MotorBug, boulter, and kablooey for a tour of Hollister Hills. At this point, a little past pleasantly hot. Definitely brushy getting to GZ. We passed a fellow with a really nicely built XJ. I was jealous. Later we saw him climb Truck Hill. We also saw a 4x4 VW vanagon run the ditch at the bottom of Truck Hill. [:O][:O] Talk about zero articulation! Thanks for the cache. mjp303

Bay Area Multiple Hills - 5

By: mhop (adopted by airsax) Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I visited the cache site and confirmed that the cache is indeed gone. I did find an indentation in the fern bush where it had once rested though. A new cache is in place at the waypoint in this log. It is a camouflaged tennis ball can with a few starter trinkets. Look for an unnatural rock pile. [;)] The terrain is probably a 2 now. Please rehide the cache carefully as this spot seems to attract a fair number of visitors even though it is a little ways off the established trail. Enjoy! mjp303

Without Pier

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Small

After missing out (again!!) on a REI sponsored GBA kayak trip, I knew I had to take matters into my own hands. Borrowing a canoe, mrs303 and I had a very pleasant tour of Redwood creek, slough, and harbor. We arrived pretty much at high tide, which was listed at 4.2', so not the highest of the day, but just right to fit the canoe under the pier and easily reach the cache. Any higher and we would have had to duck a bit. I'm sorry to report that the tether has rusted away where it attached to the box. We had to replace the cache untethered on its little shelf. How long it had survived untethered is unknown, so hopefully it will stay there until maintainance can be done. Thanks for luring us out on the water for a great experience and for a fantastic cache. mjp303

Lots Of Juice

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Small

Number 3 on our very enjoyable canoe trip around Redwood City harbor. We only saw a couple of other boats during our trek: one was a fellow in a row-boat carrying a bike(?!?). There were plenty of pelicans near the cache site, we felt bad scaring them off. The cormorant nests on the power tower were full of babies, and the adults enthusiastically scolded us while we signed the log. Thanks for a fun cache! mjp303

Well Rounded Cacher (The Fizzy Challenge)

By: Kealia Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Regular

After many months of chasing down the last of the high difficulty / terrain combinations, atc and I finally made the trek to Buzzard's Roost this afternoon. The sun was warm, but with a light breeze, it was a perfect day for hiking. Lots of other people thought so too, as we shared the top with a couple of other groups and passed 3 or 4 others coming and going. We rescued 8 TBs from the cache, leaving 2 our own in trade. I think there are 9 listed on the cache page, so it appears that one is missing. Several muggle groups have found the cache and signed the log. Perhaps someone took one not knowing what it was? I suppose that will become clearer when atc and I get them logged out. When we found the cache it was pretty exposed, so we tried to hide it better by covering it with a few rocks and branches. Completion of this challenge created many lasting memories for me, but the best by far was the 3000+ mile trip to Moab with airsax and bthomas. We found the 7 matrix caches I needed to finish it off. On the way back down the mountain, atc and I discussed which challenge to work on next. For my part, I am definitely addicted. Thanks for providing a way to feed the obsession and thanks for a memorable challenge cache. TFTCC! mjp303
