Wood Star

By: the voucher Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I tried the wrong approach first since my widget had zero in a more trollish spot. That wasn't it, so I spent a good while looking above my head. No success there either. Finally I stepped back and tried to remember what it said on the cache page...ahhh, that's the ticket! Thanks! mjp303

By: NavySparksandTheMrs Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Very quiet in the park on a Sunday morning. A quick in and out. Thanks for keeping a cache going in this park! mjp303

Pastel Pets Puzzle

By: Bob & Elliecat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Nice idea for a puzzle cache! It was a bit busier back there than I thought it was going to be. TFTC. mjp303

Somewhere Like a Monkey

By: catomcat Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Micro

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. We had just finished our find on this cache when the owner came up the trail. Nice to meet you and GoGoJo! We took a bunch of pictures, but unfortunately they're all spoilers so they'll just have to stay in our private album. TFTC. mjp303

Even Better Valley View

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

We were out for a family hike and geocache outing today. The haze reduced the impact of the sweeping vistas, but we had a great time nonetheless. It was fun to pass a friend on the trail; what are the chances of that? Actually though, there were many people out enjoying the beautiful weather. Thanks for placing caches along this trail. mjp303

Teensy Valley View

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. Great day for a hike! This was an interesting spot to the kids due to the irrigation pipe discharging water just next to the cache. The sun was hot and everyone took the chance to fill up their cap with cool water and dump it over their head. Ahhhh! Refreshing. TFTC. mjp303

Evergreen Valley View

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. This was a nice spot to take a break, and a cleverly hidden cache. Thanks! mjp303

Valley View: Bites & Stings

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. Fortunately we made it through without any bites or stings, although we saw plenty of wildlife: rabbits, lizards, butterflies, bees, swallows, hawks, tadpoles, and a snake. We hoped to see a green heron, but alas, that wasn't in the cards. TFTC. mjp303

No Valley View

By: catomcat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. We can report that the bees are doing just fine. There is a sign now warning people not to molest them. Again it was a natural spot to stop, and the frequent groups that passed us by had no idea why were really stopped. Thanks for a nice big cache! mjp303

Valley View

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. We didn't find the geotrail to the cache, and ended up having to pick stickers from our socks after we finished our hunt. Thanks for placing the caches along this trail. mjp303

Cattle Chute

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. I agree, this spot just cries out for a cache! Groups of hikers were passing by every few minutes, but no one could tell what we were really doing there. TFTC. mjp303

Lord of the Views

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

[8D]FTF![8D] 11:30a We'd been planning a hike in Windy Hill OSP for today, and I chanced to check the email this morning right before heading out. Whoa! Freshly approved cache! I'm really glad I checked; I would have been pretty irked to have gone to the Earthcache and missed the chance for another one right there. In any case, it was a beautiful, but hazy day. Moderate temperatures and a slight breeze made for a perfect hike. Thanks! mjp303

By: justbob Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

We had planned a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today, and travelled Old LaHonda Road twice shuttling the cars so that we would only have to hike downhill. [:I] Thanks for a diversion along the way! We must have passed at least a 100 bicylists on their way up to the top. Several of them looked like they would have liked to hang on to our bumper! Gazing Across a Plate Boundary

By: joseph.kerski Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

We were out today for a hike and cache hunt in Windy Hill OSP. It was a beautiful day, although our views were somewhat obscured by the smoke in the air from fires in Northern California. Living with the possibility of an earthquake is something we have to take for granted around here, and it was a good opportunity to point out the force of nature at work to the kids as we stood looking out over the San Andreas fault. Thanks for the earthcache! mjp303

Bridge View

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Without the coordinates, I wandered past GZ a bit further than I should have. While I was at the west end of the bridge (...it seems like the north end though...), I looked up to see jimbexleyspeed making the find. It was a near miss in the field, but helped me out. TFTC. mjp303

Snap Crackle Pop

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I decided to hunt these two new caches, and wrote down the coordinates on a piece of paper, but forgot to bring it along. [:I] So, I had to rely on my memory of the cache page and my geo-sense. It took me a little longer than normal, but not too much. Thanks for showing me this spot. The tide was in, which made things interesting to look at. TFTC. mjp303

Hill Lights

By: Crew 71 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I found a very exposed cache after just a slight detour from my homebound commute tonight. I moved it slightly so that it is under some living camouflage, and then applied the dead stuff liberally. Much better. The wind seemed like gale force right on top, with the result that I was not disturbed by other hikers at all. Great views, although the fog was really streaming in fast. TFTC. mjp303

Corner Pocket

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I stopped by on my way home from work. A nice stiff breeze had the para-sails out in force. There was a couple on the bench nearby, but their eyes were on the water, and they paid me no mind. Thanks for taking me on a nice stroll along the bay! mjp303

We're Comin' In

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A quick find after work. I sat to let the breeze wash my cares away. It was interesting to watch two big jets approaching SFO at the same time. How do they hang in the air like that? It seems to defy gravity. TFTC! mjp303

Up the Down Staircase

By: planehappy Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Believe it or Not...The River Starts Here!!!

By: planehappy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We're collecting counties and DeLorme pages while taking the scenic route home from the GBES rally. A quick find since GeoBandits had the cache in hand and all we had to do was walk up and sign the log. Nice to meet cachers in the field! TFTC. mjp303

Captain Blood's

By: BootyBuddies Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We're collecting counties and DeLorme pages while taking the scenic route home from the GBES rally. Green and lush here as the snow is not too distant. We like the historical marker caches! Thanks for pointing it out. mjp303

Freedom and Fireworks #1: 2007 Edition

By: planehappy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

We're collecting counties and DeLorme pages while taking the scenic route home from the GBES rally. Even though we had to wade through prickly bushes at first, things got easier as we closed on GZ. Thanks for the well stocked container. The kids quickly forgot the scratches on their legs in the rush to examine the loot. TFTC. mjp303

Kinney Lakes

By: Isolino Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

We're collecting counties and DeLorme pages while taking the scenic route home from the GBES rally. Lots of people were out enjoying a day in the mountains, and this lake was definitely a draw. Thanks! mjp303

Monitor Cache

By: Lil Devil Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

We're collecting counties and DeLorme pages while taking the scenic route home from the GBES rally. It would seem that this is a fairly remote location, but the number of finds on the cache page tells me otherwise. Thanks for marking our turn towards higher elevations! mjp303

Heenan Lake

By: Gary & Vicky Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Monitor the trees. (The 25,000th Cache!)

By: Just a Short Walk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

We're collecting counties and DeLorme pages while taking the scenic route home from the GBES rally. Fantastic country! This spot seemed to be the staging point for a rather large group of bicyclists who were struggling up to the top of the pass. We got a few quizzical looks from them, but were able to collect the required information easily. It's amazing that just 6 years after your cache was published, the one millionth cache page is right around the corner. TFTC. mjp303

RidgeTop Views

By: Just a Short Walk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

We're collecting counties and DeLorme pages while taking the scenic route home from the GBES rally. This cache provided a convenient stopping point since the engine on the Jeep was getting a little hot. There were still plenty of wild flowers around, although it's clear that they will soon wilt under a merciless heat. Great views! Thanks. mjp303

5th annual GBES Geocaching & Navigational Rally

By: GBESGeocachers Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Not chosen

[8D] What a fanstastic event! [8D] The course was beautiful, and I loved varied terrain we travelled through. The event was well organized, and everything ran like clock-work! The t-shirts, pictures and lunch were very nice touches as well. This was our 4th rally and it's always been a memorable experience, getting better every year. I loved the twist of the challenge caches. Definitely some evil hides that made us work! Not only did you have to get to them, but you had to find the cache too. Not a given by any means. Dinner was great. The coin was up to the usual high standards. So many details to take care of, and all executed really well by the GBES group! Thanks for hosting one of my favorite geocaching adventures! mjp303

Cube Root of 39.304

By: NotThePainter Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I'm out from the left coast for work and this was the nearest cache to my hotel. Hmmm...14 people watching, and it certainly seems like a fun challenge! After a little Googling (search engine and Earth style!), I had my coordinates in hand and felt well prepared...or so I thought! A pleasant stroll through the campus led quite straightforwardly to a deviously hidden cache. Suddenly I realized you had been talking to me all along, but I hadn't been listening. Drat! Heh! After calling a life-line back in CA (who wasn't at his computer), off I went back to the hotel for the now painfully obvious information. I also collected the coordinates of the food court, which I realized, after punching them in, were way out in the Atlantic! (Change that N coordinate to 42 °!)

Here are a few of the things I saw during my little adventure: An MIT sailing club race. Those captains were pretty intense in those bathtub boats. There were several collisions! The lights and roar from Fenway Park. Very cool. Oh, and of course, lots of interesting public art.

Thanks for a really fun cache. A mental challenge with interesting sights and experiences a plenty! My first cache in Massachusetts (did I spell that right?), and one to remember for a very long time. mjp303

PS. I tried to drop two coins, but they just wouldn't fit in the container. One I was able t o leave, and the other I'm logging through for the miles.

Thanks for the invitation to hike along a stretch of trail that is new to us! There were lots of people outside enjoying their day, and we got a few funny looks going off trail, but we pretended to be getting a better view of the water and all was well. TFTC. mjp303

Rock-It No. 2

Thanks for hiding this cache close to a convenient log signing 'table'! Great trail. We walked north to the next trailhead in order to get some needed exercise. TFTC. mjp303

Triple R Perch

We finally stumbled on this cache after much rooting about. It was a bit of a nervous search though since upon arrival we observed a dog owner send his three trusted companions into the cache area to do their business. Yuck! Thanks, I guess. [;)] mjp303

Rock On!

I was up north for version #2 of this cache earlier in the day. Great views along this trail, although the traffic noise is distracting. I was kind of nervous retrieving the cache since I couldn't see where I was reaching. Thanks! mjp303

Numbers Everywhere

I was able to follow the clues to the final easily even though my coordinates were consistently 30 feet west. The same was true at the final, but I knew that wasn't possible. After spending a long time looking at the likely location, I was forced to conclude that it's either a very tricky hide or not there. How about an owner visit? Thanks!

California Mountain By-Ways - GeoWoodstock VI 4x4

Joining the tide of beta testers logging the cache. UtChaz, you need to recruit some more local cachers! It's too quiet up there. [;)] Thanks for a great day of back-roads caching! Make sure to take a look at the group shot from the 8am meeting point everyone. TFTC. mjp303
