Creepy Crawley Cachey #2

By: scottpaul80 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Thanks for the stop and cache along the road from nowhere to somewhere. mjp303

Leave It To Beaver

By: Jeditruckr Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Caching down 395, we stopped for this cache. Nice view, although a bit noisy with all the traffic rushing by. TFTC. mjp303

View of the Bowl

By: Follow Nemo Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The lot is resurfaced and ready to go for another season of skiers. I think that's what attracted the skateboarders. The air was a bit nippy; fall is just around the corner and the snow will fly before you know it. TFTC. mjp303

Johnson Elementary school cache

By: Hobbithiker Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

After spending the night on the playa watching rockets, we're headed back home to the Bay Area via Smoke Creek. Thanks for showing us Gerlach! mjp303

Long Valley Creek Bridge

By: bluemaidu Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

After driving for what seemed like forever, with several wrong turns, we finally crossed this bridge and emerged back on a paved road. That's a long trek from Gerlach! TFTC. mjp303

Country Lane

By: geospyder Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

It seemed a bit like the sign is stating the obvious, isn't it? TFTC! mjp303

Welcome to Nevada (or California)

By: byjer Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

When you have to go back into Nevada in order to get home to California, you know you've been on the road too long. Feeling parched and hungry, all I wanted to do was sit in an air conditioned restaurant and recharge. Thanks for the quickie. mjp303

Tyrone Shoelaces!

By: Bill Cosby Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I enjoyed the pink ankle cast and walking boot the most. TFTC! mjp303

Smoke Creek

By: byjer Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Thanks for pointing out this bridge. We passed a couple in a jeep who were curious about what we were doing, but didn't seem to want to share their reason for being out on such a remote road. TFTC! mjp303

Beautiful Downtown Gerlach Webcam

By: 4wheeler Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

All quiet on a Sunday morning in Gerlach. Thanks for pointing out this small patch of green in an otherwise brown and dusty corner of the world. I'm the one in the middle of bthomas' picture. TFTWCC. mjp303

Dixon Park

By: TeamSportScort Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

A couple of fellows idly watched us from a porch on the north side of the park, but we were able to make the grab and move on quickly. Thanks for a lazy Sunday afternoon cache! mjp303

Doyle Graveyard Church

By: TeamSportScort Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

Thanks for another cemetary cache! We visited many of them on our trip. mjp303

Smoke Creek Tufa

By: Jeepdogs Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I really enjoyed this cache! Cool rocks, interesting wildlife, a bit of off-road bumpiness, and, of course, a cache! The tufa was a bit sharp, but we clambered about until the find was ours. Thanks for sharing the view! mjp303

Transcontinental Transportation History

By: Lorrie, Ron and Molly Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Loved this drive-up cache! The views were top-notch as well. It was the perfect conclusion to a great weekend trip with bthomas, cap'n finder and triplep220. mjp303

Coin drop.

End of 299E Cache

By: Rat & Mushroom Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

We spent about 10 minutes looking for a way to drive to this cache. It makes no sense to me that there'd be a cache in the middle of nowhere followed then by a short cross-country bushwack. I mean really! The name of the cache even implies that it has something to do with the road. It's not going to get muggled is it? Well, it's your cache, and we found it. Ain't GPS technology great!?! TFTC. mjp303

Wall Guard

By: jahoadi and john Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Definitely out there. We did pass a rancher fixing a wind mill, but interestingly on our way back, he was gone. Was our first sighting just a mirage? Thanks for placing a cache in this remote and beautiful spot. TFTC. mjp303

Surprise Valley Hot Springs Cache

By: artesian299 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Our first stop of the day on a historical trek along the Applegate trail through High Rock Canyon to Black Rock playa. Great views from this seldom visited cache. Thanks for bringing us out here. Aren't we in Nevada yet? Sure seems like it! mjp303

Vya Con Dios

By: Kokopeli Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Fun drive to get there and scenic views of wide-open spaces when we arrived: Perfect! Thanks for a great cache! I would have loved to camp, but the weather didn't cooperate. mjp303

Almost Obsolete 3

By: jkruegel adopted by LassenDogRaiser Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Lots of folks taking care of business nearby, and probably wondering why 4 guys were so interested in the nearly obsolete object. TFTC! mjp303

Solomons Family Cache

By: Team Forward Motion & King Solomon I Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Thanks for a cache just into the corner of another DeLorme page. mjp303

Getting "Lucky" at Leavitt Lake

By: Preciousfairy (adopted by Sujojeepers) Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Our group definitely considered itself 'lucky' to have made a find on this evil cache. What a strange spot though. I guess the potential for quite a bit of water exists here, but at the season all we saw were weeds. mjp303

Seven Acres

By: jkruegel adopted by LassenDogRaiser Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I've never seen a blinker without a magnet, but that's what I found in the dirt. I put it back in a rather precarious perch, but it was the best I could do. While we were struggling with the log, bthomas looked through the window of the cafe and noticed a bill dated from 2005. Tough times around here...TFTC. mjp303

Uptown Cemetery

By: jkruegel Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Pioneer cemetaries! Cool. Thanks for marking the spot.

How high's the water, Mama?

By: Johnny Cacher Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Wow! That's pretty high. Thanks for marking the historical spot. mjp303

Feather River Canyon: The End

By: Lucky46 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Nice little twist! Thanks for a fun hunt. mjp303

Here's lookin' at you Kid!

By: Rick Blaine Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Great to be part of a group. This would have been a DNF solo. TFTC! mjp303

Maidu Greeting South

By: Lucky46 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

That greeting is a mouthful! Thanks for an interesting hide. mjp303

Bang Bang

By: graniteman84 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Picking up DeLorme pages in NE California. Thanks! mjp303

Tower of H2O Power

By: JKruegel (adopted by Sujojeepers) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Glad the wind was blowing away from us! But wishing we'd brought a way to make our own 'shower'...NOT! [V] Thanks! mjp303

Maidu Greeting

By: Lucky46 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Given all the bushes and trees, this cache could have taken a lot longer than it ended up taking. Thanks for the chance to get out and stretch the legs! mjp303

bridge view

By: johnboy67 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Still looking for a train, and thought I might see one here. No luck, so we're moving on. TFTC. mjp303

Standish Quick Stop

By: h2o z Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

By the time I was done fiddling with my GPSr in the jeep, bthomas had the cache in hand. Thanks for a true quickie. mjp303

Susanville Cemetery

By: jkruegel adopted by Cruiserdude Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Out with bthomas, triplep220, and capn finder. TFTC. mjp303

Goat Fire

By: patnanz Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Thanks for pointing out an interesting location. It had never occurred to me that a lot of the timber in a burned location could be salvaged. I learned something! TFTC. mjp303

5150

By: B.O.S.N. & MarshallOD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Yup, I'm obsessed. BTW, this cache better be in page 50 'cuz otherwise I'll be back for another, which is certifiably nuts. I'm glad we came at the end of the summer though. If the hike to this cache had been muddy...well, let's not talk about that! Oh, I had fun turning the jeep around on the 'road': An 8 pointer with spotters. TFTC! mjp303

Rock Creek Bridge

By: PowerDime Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

It took the 4 of us the better part of 15 minutes searching to find this well hidden cache. Thanks for the challenge! It's a beautiful canyon. mjp303

Johnstonville Cemetary

By: Cruiserdude Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We were hoping for some pioneer headstones, but this cemetary was too new. Thanks for a clever cache, though! mjp303

PNF-Entering or Leaving?

By: Blucruz Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Great place to pull over and enjoy the great outdoors. TFTC! mjp303

Noble Nancy's Cache

By: auntlucky and supercacher and RGC Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Autorouting is usually pretty dicy for cache locations like this since it makes no distinctions between the maintained and not-so-maintained forest roads. No matter, we enjoyed a few bumps and brushes in the jeep. This was the first of many historic trails markers along our route. The bonus was that this one had a cache nearby. Thanks! mjp303

Yankee Hill

By: Blucruz Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I thought the name of this cache was some sort of historical reference...to a mine or something. Thanks for the cache anyhow! mjp303

Modoc Rock

By: jetlabels Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Modestly understated, enough to baffle me for a moment. Thanks! mjp303

Spring Valley Shady Rest

By: Blucruz & Family Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Heading up the canyon, this was one of our first stops on a long day of caching towards the north-east with a great group: triplep200, capn finder, and bthomas. Nice view, although no trains in sight. TFTC. mjp303

A Noble way

By: Cruiserdude Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Out with bthomas, triplep220, and capn finder in a quest for caches and these trail markers. TFTPC! mjp303

T.M.B. View

By: mr,b Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Heading for the mountains, we stopped for a few other caches along the way. Thanks for breaking up our trip. mjp303

Fork in the Road

By: Gary & Vicky and Juniper Jean Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

We arrived at this cache just before sunset. What a beautiful backdrop for a cache. Thanks for luring us out into this remote area. mjp303

TT and VV#1

By: jackrat and The Brain Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

A bridge to nearly nowhere, but perfect for a cache. Thanks! mjp303

Feather Balls

By: Escapades Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

What unusual rocks! A fun place to explore and look at the river below. TFTC. mjp303

Fork in the Road ! ! !

We loved our tour of the Feather River Canyon. Thanks for helping us along our way! mjp303

Modoc History

By: Juniper Jean Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

We rolled into Alturas a bit late and under threatening skies. After getting a ticket down 395 a bit, I was in a sour mood. Finding a motel room and a good meal at an Italian place did wonders for my disposition. Thanks for the nice large ammo can cache! mjp303

Spanish Springs Resort

By: JamesJM Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Whoa! Evidence that the pioneers were geocachers! Somebody should tell them that groundspeak doesn't allow travelling caches anymore. [;)] TFTC! mjp303

The Celebration Tree

By: rock & crystal Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Thanks for brightening our day with this festive spot! TFTC. mjp303

A Very Rich Bar

By: Rock & Crystal Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Read the cache page. That's always good advice. Eventually triplep220 did, and wandered off in the right direction to make the find while the rest of us searched in all the wrong places. TFTC. mjp303

The Eby Stomp

By: Rock & Crystal Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Caching with bthomas, capn finder and triplep220 (who sent our answers). An interesting historical spot. Thanks for getting us out of the car up to a tricky little hide. mjp303

A View and a Benchmark Too

By: Rock & Crystal Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I'm really enjoying the trip up this canyon! Thanks for placing a cache for us to enjoy. mjp303

Filet of Sole

By: Uncle Al and Gatos Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

Fun spot! Although honestly the significance of what's going on here is lost on me. I visited with triplep220 and capn finder who have already sent our answers. TFTVC. mjp303

Yuba City

By: Art Clark Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

First cache of the day on a very long road trip picking up counties, delorme pages, and lots of adventures. Thanks for keeping this old and historic cache alive. I enjoyed the views of Sutter Buttes on a clear and crisp morning. TFTC! mjp303

Monkeyshines

By: finderofthingz Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I found it after dark. I had to tiptoe past a few sets of open curtains, and waited in the shadows for a lady to finish putting out the trash because I was sure I would have scared the dickens out of her. Thanks for getting the blood pumping on this windy and cold evening! mjp303

Mag-nano-mous

By: finderofthingz Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

It was back-to-school night up the street, so of course I had to treat myself to a little caching on the way home. Darkness made this tougher, but I had it in hand in fairly short order. Fortunately I didn't have to contend wtih anyone coming and going. TFTC. mjp303

Jill's Beach

By: rosmo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

With a little extra time at lunch, I decided to hunt for few caches in the Candlestick point area. Thanks for placing another cache along this very nice path. mjp303

Eye of the Monster

By: K9Krazy and Catracha Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Sneaky! Your cache really had me scratching my head for a while. Thanks for marking the trailhead! mjp303

Football Park

By: rosmo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Great views from this cache! I love the chance to sneak a peak at the stadium below. On the way up, I chatted with a man who was walking a dalmatian / rotweiler mix. Now that was an interesting looking dog! TFTC. mjp303

Cod

By: LittleSofie347 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Thanks for pointing out this pleasant spot. It was quite hot tonight, and I think someone in the nearby house heard me discovering the cache through their open window. Hopefully all is safe with it! mjp303

Arcturus' Secret

By: firebird1243 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

My pocket query was a little dated, so I didn't know about the 3 recent DNFs. That probably would have discouraged me. I suppose got lucky looking in the right place! Fortunately the container doesn't have any camouflage tape on it. That would have really made it invisible. I was happy that the cache was hidden in a quiet corner of the park. A few streets over soccer practice was in full swing. Thanks. mjp303

Pompano's Cache

By: LittleSofie347 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Great camouflage! I had to stretch out on to tippy toes, but was able to make the grab. Honestly, I was thinking that the coordinates were off for a moment or two, but eventually I trusted the GPSr. TFTC! mjp303

Out for a little holiday hike and caching, this was my first stop on the way up the hill. TFTC. mjp303

Cache Challenge 3

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This was a great spot to take a break before making the trek back down the Crystal Springs trail. I passed several other groups of hikers, but it was still very peaceful and quiet. Thanks for getting me out on the trails on a beautiful Labor Day. mjp303

Cache Challenge 2

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Out for a hike in Huddart Park on a beautiful Labor Day with my new CO GPSr. This was the first field test under fairly demanding conditions with lots of tree cover and a steep hillside. Things went well, and I didn't experience any of the drift that many others have reported. Thanks for placing a trio of caches in a very nice park! mjp303

Cache Challenge 1

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Just after I retrieved the cache, signed the log and started over to replace it, a string of people came down the trail. I had to wait about 10 minutes while each group took a break, studied the map and then slowly headed out. It was a popular spot! I think they might have been wondering why I loitered about for so long! TFTC. mjp303

The Wicket Gate

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Thanks for hiding a cleverly hidden cache in an interesting location. I used the parking coordinates for my trek into Huddart Park. mjp303
