Points of Faith

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I grabbed this cache while on a break from a trade show at Moscone center. TFTC! mjp303

Sit Awhile

By: Batch218 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

bthomas and I passed by this cache a couple of times during our adventures up on Montara Mountain. As mentioned, destructive muggles had paid a visit. Too bad. TFTC. mjp303

The Montara Dragon

By: rvehring (adopted by begneiss) Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

Yeah, what bthomas and airsax said, but I suppose we were warned. [}:)] The synergy of mental and physical challenges on this cache results in a psychological challenge that borders on cruel, IMO...and we only made it half-way through! It appears that both our group and Lokirime failed to find the clue at stage 4. In thinking through things, I'm pretty sure our group was in the right spot, so perhaps the cache owner would be so kind as to verify that everything is still in place? or provide additional guidance? Thanks for showing us Montara Mountain!

Pretty Sea Centro de Compras

By: Lyndalou2 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Our only urban find of the day. The attachment mechanism had failed, and we found the cache lower than what was probably intended after a few moments of searching. I rehid the cache in the way the owner intended. The container was a very interesting shape, and we wondered what it had originally held. Thanks! mjp303

X Marks the Spot

By: Batch218 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

Great views of Pacifica, although a lot was obscured by fog today. Thanks for placing a cache along our way. mjp303

Old Fence

By: batch218 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Not chosen

Out for a hike to the top on this foggy morning. Everything was wet and dripping around the cache, and I got a bit wet retrieving it. TFTC. mjp303

Piney

By: batch218 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Oh, I get it. Piney, but not 'BIG' Piney. As you probably gathered, I was a bit confused about where the cache would be hidden. Thanks! mjp303

To everything - turn, turn, turn

By: batch218 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

The dogs were really barking after traipsing all over Montara Mountain today. Thanks for a quick stop to rest! mjp303

Along the Trail

By: Batch218 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

I love to drive my jeep off-road, and found myself wishing I could drive up this road instead of hike. I wonder what the fine would be if a ranger caught you up here in a vehicle? Probably not worth the risk! TFTC. mjp303

Intersection No. 2

By: batch218 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Micro

A steep climb to get up here, but unfortunately the views were obscured by fog. TFTC! mjp303

The Coastsiders' Nemesis

By: begneiss Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

As a proud (?) owner of a PN40, I'm still waiting for DeLorme to update their firmware to include waypoint projection as a feature. (It's promised, although there is a workaround that I discovered later...) So, my role was to start searching under every bush when we got in the vicinity, which was no small task. I think I did it until airsax and bthomas realized that they weren't using the correct datum, and then I wandered off to get a snack. A few minutes later, I heard the eureka shout. TFTC. mjp303

Farallone Marker

By: Team feline Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

Foggy! Unfortunately we didn't get to appreciate the views at all today. What a fun hike! TFTC. mjp303

Thanks for the quick grab and go. I like downtown Half Moon Bay! mjp303

Carter's Little Park

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I decided to take the long way to work this morning, and stopped off for a few caches along the way. Even though there was a bit of drizzle, plenty of people were stopping by for their morning coffee. Clever hide! And definitely not what I was expecting. TFTC. mjp303

Here Fishy Fishy

By: HMB Lipripper Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The last time I searched for a cache on this bridge, it was a blinker and it was underneath. In other words, a real PITA. Yours was a lot nicer hide! Last night's rain really had the creek flowing, but I was sorry to see a shopping cart down in the water. Thanks for bringing me back! mjp303

Psychic in a Box

By: butchmouse Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Fresh finds renewed my determination to find this cache! I was able to get outside my mental box this time and it worked. Thanks for the cache! mjp303

Historical Foundation

By: smg1417 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Found on my way to work, before the hustle and bustle of the school day had begun. Thanks for pointing out this interesting historical spot. mjp303

Where in the world is 908 Hillcrest?

By: airsax Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Thanks for pointing out this trail. Great camouflage, too! TFTC. mjp303

Duck Dock

By: spatula75 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I groaned when I saw the set up. Fortunately, the hide was more logical than it initially appeared to be. Thanks for pointing out this nice trail along the lagoon! mjp303

Brisbane Marina

By: astucky Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I came by at lunch. Lots of people out enjoying the views and bright sunshine. Once I settled down and followed the instructions on the cache page, it was a quick find. TFTC! mjp303

Kings Mountain 2

By: S & L Best Buds Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

The boys and I were out for a hike on this fantastic winter afternoon. The original Kings Mountain cache was the second one we ever found, nearly six years ago, so lots of good memories for us around here. Thanks for bringing us back! mjp303

Deer Meadow

By: dr.dolittle & faith Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

After hiking in afternoon shade for most of the way, we finally emerged to bright sunshine in this lovely meadow. Thanks for pointing out the spot, and TFTC. mjp303

The Crossroads

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

After studying the aerials and maps for quite awhile, I decided that there was closer access to this cache than either Woodside Rd or Skyline Blvd. After wandering around in the neighborhood by Alice's I eventually found it. [8D] So, I guess didn't really earn the smilie with a lot of climbing, but it was neat to come in by this secret park entrance. TFTC. mjp303

'Wunderful' Manzanita

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Coming in from the Stadler Rd (mid mountain) entrance, there's still some serious climbing to do between Crossroads and this cache. To add insult to injury, I took the Alambique instead of the Skyline trail. After getting to about 500' from the cache, I finally realized my mistake. The choice was either to go back around (3 plus miles and all that elevation), or bushwhack straight up the hillside. Whew, what a dilema! In the end, I did sign the log. [;)] Thanks for bringing me to a beautiful spot and a great park! mjp303

Eating Up Inside

By: Chancer Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I decided not to search. This is not an appropriate place for a cache, IMO.

Make a Wish

By: 2lols Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Thanks for pointing out this interesting and historic church! mjp303

Laurelwood Creek Overlook

By: BellComstocks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I found this cache on the scenic route to work! I'm not sure I'd want to live down in that gully, especially if there was an earthquake. I did enjoy the flag at the top of the tree though. Thanks, mjp303

Basque Cultural Center

By: butchmouse Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Second time by here. The first was at lunch, which was impossible. This time, early morning, was quieter, but there was a cop camped out on the side street watching for speeders. No way that was going to work. Timing counts for a lot on your caches! mjp303

Plus One

By: rjb2001 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I found the view cache many moons ago using a different approach. Making it a two-fer is a good strategy for increasing traffic though! Nice sunrise this morning. TFTC. mjp303

Joey Shops Here

By: butchmouse Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A quick find on the way to work. Several kids were hanging out at the bus stop across the way, and, of course, plenty of vehicles passed by, but otherwise it was a perfect time to search. TFTC. mjp303

Wedding Vows

By: The Geoides Family Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I picked this cache up on the way to work. The park-n-ride was busy with commuters making connections, but no one gave me a second glance. TFTC! mjp303

D.I.Y.

By: Geoides Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A quick find. While I was signing the log, a trucker pulled up with a double trailer. I watched him unhook the rear one, move off a few yards, unhook the front one, and then reattach the rear one. It took about a minute! Then he roared away and left me in a wake of diesel fumes. TFTC. mjp303

King of the Hill

By: Natameo3 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I crested the hill shortly after sunset, and spent several minutes taking in the beautiful, clear view as the light started to fade. Very nice! The hide is quite bold, IMO. Hopefully it will last. TFTC. mjp303

Lovin' Arms

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I was confused by the blank log book for a second. I loved all the moss on the trees. Hopefully the cache will stay dry. Thanks! mjp303

Miniature Golfing

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

A quick find before heading out to enjoy the Eagle trail along the creek. There were lots of hikers out enjoying the bright sunshine like me. I'm sure some of them wondered what I was doing at GZ! TFTC. mjp303

Mr. Troll

By: Skip Fore Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

A bit further from the bridge than the cache title would indicate, but the widget lead me right to it. Thanks! mjp303

Patch Cache

By: Rameyclan and Mrs. Rameyclan Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I stopped by this cache since I had a few minutes to spare before picking up the take-out chinese. There were lots of birds settling down for the night...another world on the opposite side of the fence! TFTC. mjp303

Pond Along Old Spanish Trail

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I enjoyed the hike up from Alpine road...until I realized that this cache was a trailhead marker! Oh, well, I wanted to be on the Alpine side of the ridge for other caches anyhow! I heard lots of frogs around the pond. TFTC! mjp303
