Grace's 9th Birthday

By: mlrsolutions Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

3rd to find on this cache over 3 years ago, but just making the connection!

Aug 23, 2009

The Rocks

By: kanchan Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I tried first from below, and then from above. The second approach was a bit easier. After finding the cache, I stood and watched a large buck casually graze his way through a yard across the street. No fear at all! Thanks. mjp303

McDougal Park 2

By: kanchan Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

All quiet on a lazy Sunday afternoon. It seemed as if the grounds were waiting in quiet expectation for the noise and commotion of school to begin! TFTC. mjp303

Gamestop

By: GBoyz Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

We were out shopping for school supplies, and this cache was on the way. Not too busy, so we lucked out. (Nap time perhaps?) Based on the log sheet, a couple of others have been here already today, and as I was going to return the cache, ran into Kraker who was just zeroing in. (Nice to meet you!) BTW, updated coordinates were spot on for me. TFTC. mjp303

End of a Walkway

By: kanchan Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

It felt like we were intruding a bit. Open windows allowed us to evesdrop in two young girls who were playing with dolls in their bedroom. In any case, we tiptoed on by, and I hope no one was any wiser for it. TFTC. mjp303

X Marks the Spot

By: Aunt Flora Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Very nice stretch of the bay shore! Thanks for bringing me back. TFTC. mjp303

Missing Link

By: TomAmes Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I took a lunchtime stroll down to the edge of the bay and found this cache. Lots of construction activity going on. They've taken down a section of the fence around the transfer center, put up a temporary crossing for access, and were moving dirt around. Workers were putting up the forms to pour the abutments. I suppose all this is in preparation to bring in a crane and drop the bridge itself into place. Very interesting. Perhaps you'll have to rename your cache in a few short months! Thanks. mjp303

County Line - Fresno

By: TRAKD Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We started our very long day with a county line cache, so it seemed only fitting to end the day with one too. Having driven the entire time, I was ready to drop off, but fortunately bthomas was able to step in a get us back to the bay area safely. TFTC! mjp303

Sign Of The Times

By: redwoodcanoe Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

We searched for a while, and then I noticed something that looked out of place. With a bit of tugging, I had the cache in hand shortly. Nicely done! mjp303

By: redwoodcanoe Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I am unclear on what was on the other side of the fence, but glad that it didn't include any barking dogs! TFTC. mjp303

Patterson Canal Bank

By: conehead51 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Yup, I drove the cache mobile up right next to the cache, and got to display my backing up skills on the way out! Fortunately I didn't put it in the canal! TFTC. mjp303

A great place to stop for a bite (...or two...or three!) Whew, I was stuffed, but that burger was good! As to the cache, every once in a great while my cache mojo appears! This was one of those rare occasions. Thanks. mjp303

By: Radikel Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Locavore

By: Radikel Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Given the day and time, we probably should have passed on this cache. Going in, we thought it would be a quick grab, and that we would be gone before anyone noticed. Unfortunately not. As the minutes dragged on, a friendly vendor came over and learned about geocaching. Eventually the cache was ours. Thanks. mjp303

Newmans Historic Homeless Distric:Take 2

By: DJFRANCIS Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Travelling between Patterson and Gustine, we couldn't resist a quick stop...or so we thought! The search dragged out a bit, but eventually the light went on for British Invasion, and we had a cache in hand. Thanks! mjp303

By: Photom Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Where Boys Are Mean To Ducks

By: CentralCArn Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

With the fishing derby in full swing, we weren't sure that this cache would be possible. bthomas took his camera and provided cover. British Invasion signed the log with casual nonchalance, and I kept watch on the vehicle under that highway 'No Parking' sign. TFTC. mjp303

Fish Stories

By: CentralCArn Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Strangely enough, no fishermen today. Fortunately, this apparently soggy spot had dried up in the Summer heat, which made the searching quite a bit easier. TFTC. mjp303

Minkler

By: 2VW's Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

This was an interesting old country store. The owner gave us a bit of its history and the story of the untimely demise of the cache's hiding spot. Although the day was quite pleasant, we were happy to get a soda for the road. TFTC! mjp303

Lest We Forget

By: geohamcash & gameisafoot Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

We were somewhat distracted by all the folks arriving for a wake. Soon enough, everything fell into place. I think that's one of a handful of days I'll never forget where I was and what I was doing. TFTC. mjp303

Wooden it be Nice

By: redwoodcanoe Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Last cache in Hanford. A fun place to make some finds. During our visit we ran into two cops, one paid and one volunteer, and that was pretty much it. Thanks! mjp303

Unlawful Carnal Knowledge

By: redwoodcanoe Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Interesting "memorial" (!?!), but I missed the ECV marker! While hunting and signing the log, a drunk guy on a bike rode by muttering nonsense. TFTC. mjp303

More Than a Sign Only Cache

By: Radikel Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Where's the ER?

By: johetyem Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

After descending a very curvy and steep hwy 198, it was definitely time to give the brakes a breather. I enjoyed learning a little bit about the people who lived here. Acorns seem like a pretty tough way to keep the hunger pangs away! Thanks. mjp303

Living Large

By: bthomas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Virtual

British Invasion and I made the hike down from the top, and milled about like ants for a few moments. Wow! This tree is definitely near the top of the list of many awe inspiring sights I've discovered while Geocaching, and a good number of those have been in the company of the owner of this cache. Thanks Ben for all the good times! Interesting to note that Eagle81 was here on the same day as we were, given that he lives just a mile or so from me back home in the bay area. Thanks for the virtual cache! mjp303

1000 Cash for G & M

By: bthomas Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Arriving with the cache owner at the beginning of a marathon day, things were all set to replace. bthomas hopped out of the car and had the supposedly missing cache container in hand in about 5 seconds. Although things have changed in the area around the cache with lots of new homes, 1000 caches is still quite a significant milestone! TFTC. mjp303

Ranger's Fund

By: Kyle,Katie & Tara Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

On a long trip day trip from the bay area, and this cache was one of the primary objectives. Unfortunately, we arrived after closing time. Hopefully close (within 10 feet!) counts in virtual caches just as it does in horseshoes and hand grenades. This was my first visit to Sequoia NP, and I hope to return for another visit! Thanks.

By: TeamJiffy Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Heading to the edge of the solar system and beyond, bthomas and British Invasion were kind enough to allow me the time to stop off at several of these planetary waypoints. Checked several under the needles at the base of several trees, but didn't find it. 7pm on a very pleasant summer evening is not the time to be searching. I felt like I was in a fishbowl with all of those apartment windows. Thanks for introducing me to a new park though.

BOAT PARK

A long time ago, there was a cache in a tree along those steps at the back of the park. Every park deserves a cache, so thanks for getting this one back in the game again. mjp303

I like this park! There used to be a cache here, GCH9VC, but it was archived 5 years ago. About time there was a replacement! TFTC. mjp303

UP IN THERE

This was the second of three hillside, tree-cover caches. Notorious for difficult signal aquisition. I gave it a try, ascending the hill in two different locations, but where the widget was pointing just didn't seem to make sense, and I didn't see anything that lept out as matching the hint. I didn't see a lot of poison oak leaves, but there were a lot of what I think are poison oak branches. I didn't put myself in the position to have to grab one to keep my feet.
